After your Toyota vehicle is serviced at a shop it is good practice to verify that the service work requested was actually done and done correctly. For example, decades ago my 1971 Ford F-100 pickup truck's oil pump failed. An independent shop replaced the oil pump. After driving the truck home I looked underneath the truck to check it out. I was surprised to find that the oil pan mounting bolts were all loose... A more recent example at Eugene's Kendall Toyota for routine maintenance: Oil change, tire rotation, tire pressure check, air and oil filters, etc. The most frequent problem: The tire valve stem caps were not tightened. And after one service visit, one cap was missing. Maybe a loose cap fell off on the way home. A more serious problem was over-filling the crankcase with oil. See the first photo. As shown, the oil level was above the dipstick "full" mark (right side in the photo), estimated at 3/8-qt high. As shown in the 2nd photo, I used a Mighty-Vac hand vacuum pump with about 2 feet of small white plastic tubing to suck the excess oil out, via the dipstick tubing, into the plastic container shown in the photo. The white tubing was inserted into the dip stick tubing as far down as it would go, then the excess oil was sucked out with the Mighty-Vac pump. Then there's the tire TPWS synchronization problems with a 5-tire rotation. Yes, I have five full size tires all with TPWS sensors. That took three visits to Kendall to get them up to speed on how to do a 5-tire rotation so that the TPWS works properly without error codes. Given the above, I now check the oil level dip stick, the tire valve stem caps and the TPWS before I drive away from the shop. read more

Went to dealership to have my 2023 Rav-4 serviced as they state that the service includes a tire rotation and brake inspection. When I went to pick the car up, I noticed that the tires were never rotated so the brakes were never inspected. I approached the service writer, and he basically told me that the stated services are really not included and that the $117.00 is just for the oil change and filter. I later called for a service manager and someone else called me back and basically confirmed what the first guy said. What else are they not doing that they say they are doing and just taking your money. Be Warned! read more

These guys are great. If you want to buy a car I suggest you do it online and have Dylan and Kevin help you. I took a train from Portland down to Eugene and drove away in my new Corolla XSE in about an hour from start to finish. The deal was done online before I got there. They picked me up at the train station in my new car and treated me professionally, promptly, and in a friendly way from start to finish. I got a great deal and a beautiful car with no pressure and 100% transparency. read more

seriously the WORST customer service (sic) I have experienced in all of Lane County in more than 30 years here. Parker Sullivan and Cameron Sprouse honestly were more frustrating than they were helpful -- at every single stage 2 weeksof the used vehicle purchase: rude and unresponsive and unprofessional -- even whining about their busy work schedules to me, rather than asking what they could do next to help us. + + "I'll always respond back but sometimes it takes longer because I'm also texting my bosses." Busy texting your bosses FOR 6 HOURS?! While a customer is waiting on you for confirmation of your receipt of $25,000 wired to the Kendall dealership's bank account ??? I'll never consider doing ANY more business (sales or service) with Kendall after the awful experience we endured with these two "salesmen." read more

My otherwise wonderful 2023 Toyota Sequoia Limited I-Force Hybrid early on developed a piercing front brake squeal that despite multiple efforts by Service Writers at Eugene Kendall Toyota, the Toyota 'Factory' just declared it a "Warranty Defect" for which "there is yet NO AVAILABLE REPAIR" !! ---so I was told to just live with it literally indefinitely while "Toyota was working on it (somewhere)." BUT then enter Kendall Toyota' SERVICE MGR DWAYNE THOMPSON who creatively and figuratively literally (somehow) "put the proverbial cobb" to those at TOYOTA WARRANTY MGT who were obviously oblivious to concepts of Customer Service, pointing out that a 'new' solution was not needed as the braking system for my Toyota Sequoia HE FOUND WAS INTERCHANGEABLE WITH PARTS OF A TOYOTA TUNDRA !! Once that 'hidden in plain sight' solution was (reluctantly) accepted by TOYOTA WARRANTY MGT, Kendall Service Mgr DWAYNE THOMPSON's creative 'fix' was officially APPROVED, the parts were quickly ordered AND MY SEQUOIA was just remarkably FIXED --again thanks to the just remarkable personal intercession of SERVICE MGR DWAYNE THOMPSON of Kendall's Eugene Toyota Dealership. BUYER BEWARE! My 65 y/o mother came in to buy a 2024 4Runner TRD PRO, she could've paid off the vehicle that SAME DAY.....but when she spoke to RANDY JOE in finance he ASSURED her that if she financed the 4Runner through Toyota finance it would be the same as paying cash. So my elderly mom agrees to finance, even though she did ask Randy Joe multiple times if there was going to be any fees or interest if she financed th vehicle rather than paying cash that same day. Well...guess what, she is now being charged a fee and now owes 587 dollars more than what she bought the car for! She when she called Randy and asked why there is an xtra 587.00 dollars attached to her loan amount he basically said she's bound contractually and he can't do anything about it!! Rather than focus on penny pinching customers, stay true to providing a quality and trustworthy experience. I've been taking two of my vehicles here for 8 years. Over that ti.e, the quality of the service has declined and I do not trust them anymore. The service reps are fine; they are literally and nice. However, too many times I go to spray windshield wiler fluid a couple days after a service and long behold, it's empty. Or I notice the tire valve stems are missing....again. Or, the tire psi after I take a vehicle in with low tire pressure is still low, bit the service report says all tire are perfectly pressurized. Or, I make a service appointment for a repair, takr the day off work to take it in, wait there for several hours only to find out that, "oh, sorry. Your vehicle has just been sitting there because we mixed things up. Can we schedule another time?" Too many little things have been repeatedly screamed at me to go somewhere else for service. Recently, they started sending fancy little videos showing the issues that the mechanics find. Oddly enough, the cost of the recommend service has exponentially increased. Wow! I'm out kendall. Chance, Micaiah and Court were a great team to work with at Kendall. From initial contact and working with Chance and Micaiah to wrapping up the purchase with Court, they all made it very easy to work with. Flew in and got picked up by Chance and was out of the dealership within a couple of hours and back home in Cali all in a day. Would highly recommend reaching out to these guys if you ever need a Toyota in the future. They also have some pretty cool lifted Tacoma's that are nice to look at in their showroom. For the prices these large dealerships charge for their service department you would expect 5 star service. NOPE. They are in dire need of improving their customers experience and service. Bought new 2023 Tundra. Had factory TRD lift kit installed. Mechanic broke the wiring to the fuel control valve. He proceeded to use a zip tie to try to hold the connector together and sent me on my way. Are you kidding me!!!!! Well I made it home, but then not too long later, the engine stopped running. After being towed to two different dealers, finally they found the problem. I guess the zip tie trick did not work (OMG). Then a couple hundred miles later I am under the truck installing the rear bed step and notice that the main bolt to the suspension (connected to the rear axle) is not only loose, but the nut to the bolt has fallen completely off. I guess torque wrenches are overrated!!! Oh, here we go again, another tow to the dealer. I love the truck, but I would obviously never have ANY work (I mean any) done at this dealer! read more

EDIT: I got contacted by Gary, who ensured the feedback will be taken into account and they will handle the title correction appropriately. *********************************** Upon purchase of a vehicle, the DMV registration was botched by the dealership, with no accountability whatsoever. While I understand that error is human, and some foreign names can be less intuitive (I have a U.S. drivers license which clearly enunciates Last Name and First Name... so nothing too challenging there), what triggers the negative rating is the way the issue was handled. I feel it's important to warn other potential customers. There was no accountability for the mistake: - first a denial that a mistake was made, and a litany of excuses ("it's because you're in CA and we're in OR", "our 3rd party Andes made the mistake", "I checked and your name is correct"...). Very fortunately I had a scan of the form their clerk filled to prove the error came from their end - then I emailed and called multiple times. They put the onus of following up on the customer. All unanswered. It is worrying that once they got paid, they think it's their right to ignore you even when they made a mistake Note: I was a fairly "easy" customer and did not negotiate the sale price. I simply expected respectful service in return read more

WOC BEWARE I came in recently hoping to purchase a new vehicle, but when I tried to get help not a single sales rep would even talk to me. My friend and I approach the service counter for attendance, and even their own front desk employee couldn't get any of the sales rep to talk to me. It seemed they were to busy eating cake to do their jobs. Actually, one of the salesmen came out, took a look at me and walked right back inside. Has to be the best car buying experience I've had...ever! We dealt with salesman Cameron Sprouse. From start to finish he was pleasant, professional and responsive. Me being "physically challenged" and not an ideal snow driver, I didn't want to drive to Eugene (4 hours) to look at a vehicle. Cameron arranged for it to be brought to us. The driver, Lany was great! He patiently waited while we looked the car over, test drove it and ultimately decided to keep it. We signed the paperwork and viola! I can't say enough good things about salesperson Micaiah Gallegos. I made an appointment to get my oil changed. It still took 1-1/2 hours!! The car didn't get vacuumed or washed, so not sure what they were doing. I figured I would use the time to check out a new car, as I am looking to trade in my current car for a new one. Oh, what a fool I be. Foolishly (you know, like a fool), I went to Kendall Toyota to see about a keyfob for a Camry I recently purchased. It came with one, but it wasn't working, so I scheduled a time recently to have the keyfob I have looked at. Additionally, Kendall said they had one that would work for my vehicle and I was interested in purchasing that one and having it paired to my car as well. I was told on the phone that this procedure would be scheduled "for a few hours." I told the guy on the phone setting the appointment that this is a 15-20 minute job, so I didn't understand why it would be booked out for 2-3 hours. He said he wanted to be safe, so he put it down to block out for 2-3 hours. Should have been a RED FLAG right there. I showed up promptly for my appointment and it was a virtual ghost town. 10 salespeople as I walked through the doors and through the dealership to the Service area, but only 1 lone Service person and nobody manning the Parts counter. I got his attention and gave him my keys. Then I waited. And waited. And continued to wait. After I had been there for 45 minutes, the kid in Service came over to me and told me it would be another 45 minutes. Remember, this is something that only takes 15-20 minutes, so I have no clue what the hold up is. 30 minutes later (an hour and 15 minutes after my appointment time), I hear a tech asking the Service kid if I want one or two keyfobs and the Service kid explains that I want to try to pair my old one and their new one to my car and I'd take them both. The tech leaves to finally work on the purpose of my appointment. 12 minutes later the tech comes back and says to the kid in Service that neither keyfob will pair to my car. Even faster than I thought it would take. A few minutes later I am told the bad news and asked if I wanted to have them investigate the cause. If they had done the test when my appointment was for, I would have agreed. As it was, I missed having lunch with a friend from Portland because I was there far longer than I ever needed to be. On the plus side, I wasn't charged (which quite frankly, I shouldn't have been -- believe it or not, but my time is worth something, too). The downside is that it took ANOTHER 15 minutes to print off the page that said they didn't fix anything so I could sign it and get my keys to leave. Overall, I was less than impressed with Kendall Toyota. I love Toyotas, but I didn't even consider these guys when I went looking for one to buy because their Service ability is virtually zero. Read my previous reviews on this place regarding Service (or their lack thereof). It is perfectly OK that they couldn't get either keyfob to work. If they could have, I would have been happy to spend some money there. But for it to take an hour and 45 minutes to perform a 12 minute task is a bit ridiculous. Don't overbook appointments, Kendall; it pushes back your legitimate customers who are there on time expecting prompt service of their vehicle. If this happened at a restaurant, it would go viral considering there wasn't hardly any customers present. It is such standard fare at Kendall that I'll keep it to this review and move on with my future business. read more

I bought a 2020 Toyota Prius from Kendall Toyota and have been completely happy ever since. The dealership treated me right and sold me an excellent car at fair price, with extended service prepaid. The salesperson was fun to work with and made the many possible choices clear along the way. My Prius generally gets 45-55 mpg around town and 55-64 mpg on highway. When completely filled with regular gas, the car will drive 410-415 miles before running dry. This is my third Toyota in last 30 years, and it is the best one. No problems at all in first 3 years. Add air to tires occasionally, gas, windshield wiper fluid. Otherwise, I have been very happy with the professionalism of the entire operation. The service technicians are skilled and stand behind their work. I totally recommend Kendall Toyota for both sales and service. read more

We came down from Seattle to buy a specific car, took the train and were picked up in a nice van and brought to the dealership. We made sure to get our ducks in a row so far as contracting our insurance, pre-approval on loan etc, and the signing process was easy and quick. I think we were in and out in 2 hours- quite impressive. There was a play room for the kids and everyone was helpful. We decided against the added protection once we saw how much hubs was driving, would have blown through the mileage before the regular warranty was up. The dealership processed this and the $$ went back to the loan. All in all it was a great experience, a long day of driving and riding the train, but worth it and we love our new car! read more

I had a car deal all wrapped up over the phone.......price--fees----car fax done etc. CASH DEAL. the only issue is that I was flying from RENO NV to Eugene Or My "sales" rep was TREVOR....answered my questions-- The dealership knew I was flying and I had bought a ticket. They had agreed to pick me up from the local airport. Its a Toyota dealership, and that is also a positive--usually........... So far I was enjoying my buying experience--the typicaL buying anxiety was going away--key to a consumer making a large purchase. Pain in the ass. Wasted our time. Came up with fake "policies" and were completely incompetent. I've historically had good service at Kendall, and today wasn't any different. I came for an oil change: it was quick, and the staff was friendly. However, while I was waiting I couldn't help but notice that the waiting area was stocked with some super gross, completely discredited right-wing propaganda. I suspect they would claim they set out periodicals to appeal to a wide variety of interests -- but there weren't any equivalent neutral or left-leaning political readings to be found. So if you want to be over charged and taken advantage of this is the place for you. I had a leak appear in the cab of my truck so reluctantly I had to take it to a auto body shop, unfortunately Kendall was the only place available with in a week for appointments. These mofos misdiagnosed the peak the first time and charged me 700 dollars, when I brought the truck in to have them look at it again they, said it's actually my whole sunroof that needed to be replaced cause of a faulty gasket, which would be $1300. I asked if they could just replace the gasket and told me no cause it comes as a kit and not sold separately. So I did a quick 30 second google search for a part number and found a brand new OEM part for $34. So I ended up fixing it myself, and didn't support their dirty little racket they have running. As far as workman ship is shoty as hell, the forgot to reinstall pieces from the removal of my roof liners, and bed of truck, they also left greasy hand prints on my liner I've been trying to clean for weeks now, honestly very disappointed in the entire process, of dealing with these people. I'm still waiting for the replacement parts to arrive 3 weeks later. Don't go here. read more

I am extremely disappointed in how Kendall Toyota of Eugene handled a potential car deal. I was working with Katelyn McCall at the dealership. We agreed on a price and arranged a date and time to do a test drive and pick up of the vehicle. We live about 270 miles away. In preparation to make the trip to Eugene, we had to take time off of work and even booked a local hotel. We were excited to move forward with the purchase but thought we'll check in with Katelyn to make sure everything was in the clear, I asked, "would check would be okay?" (indicating we weren't going to finance it) then immediately it was communicated to us it was "Sold!". No warning, no heads up that another deal was in process, or any other potential buyers. I attached the conversation I had with Katelyn. Per WSJ "Dealers have always preferred you finance versus pay cash, but they have amped up the pressure to take loans and are, in some cases, even refusing a sale if you intend to pay cash. And yes, this is perfectly legal for a dealer to refuse your money". Kendall Toyota of Eugene was not being transparent or honest. They wasted my time.
