DON'T GO HERE!!! Me and my gf went here last night and its the most boring bar i've ever been to. We ignored the fact that they had the game on and everytime we would cheer for our team we got looked at like how dare we make noise in a bar or the fact that our food was less than satisfactory and came out cold. The cheese on my cheesesteak looked like government cheese and wasnt even melted but the real issue was when i asked to close our tab and the bill had more drafts on it than what we had ordered and was missing my 2 sodas. My gf politely called the bartender over to point out the mistake and he instantly got an attitude and became defensive, arguing with us about how many we had drank. Then he said he'd go get his manager. The manager came out and then proceeded to tell me that if she added on my 2 sodas and took off the 3 beers that the bill would actually be more because the drafts were $3 and the fountain sodas were $3.60... uhhhhh what?? She then offered to remove 1 of the drafts which we didn't feel satisfied with but decided that was gonna be the best she would do then she unnecessarily turned to the bartender and rather nastily said "I"LL just pay for THEIR beer I guess" Totally unprofessional and uncalled for. Then after settling that tab my gf ordered another beer and shot and then we were gonna leave. The manager served her. I then watched the bartender stalk the manager around the bar and complain pretty non discreetly about us challenging him on the bill. So then i decided i wanted a shot too and asked for one at which time I was informed that we were cut off because we had had too much even though i had only drank soda for the previous 2 hours. I understand that service is up to their discretion but I took a serving class and also am aware that it's suppose to be based on visual drunkeness which neither of us were displaying. It's a shame because I've worked for tips and am usually a really good tipper. They could have easily made $25-30 tip from me but instead they got nothing and a bad review on any site i can leave a review for them on. As well as telling all our local friends not to spend their money there. So good job guys. I don't know if we were treated this way because we were unfamiliar faces or if it was because we are gay or if it was because they were pissed that we caught them trying to rip us off. I'm pretty sure the bartender did it on purpose so he could comp the beers off the check later and pocket the cash which i know is a pretty common practice of bartenders. Despite all the negative reviews here, I have to give this place a 5. I'm not crazy about the atmosphere and the staff isn't the greatest...but it's just something about those monday wing nights that I love. I've been here many times with friends (only on mondays) and have only gotten wings. The monday special is about $3.10 for 10 wings and a drink. They offer rookie, hot, killer, and sweet & spicy wings. I almost always only get the sweet & spicy, since the other wings are so-so. The sweet & spicy are honestly some of the best wings I've ever had. The wings are meaty, taste great, and are filling. It is a bummer that it's extra for blue cheese/ranch and celery, but the wings are just too good. Definitely recommend this place ... for wings..on a monday. The place gets super busy with monday regulars though so come early. read more

This place is literally half the distance between my house and the next bar/restaurant and I drive the extra because keystone is so bad. The staff are so unfriendly and seem mainly focused on their buddies who are present. The minute you walk in you feel the bad vibe. The death nail is the terrible food. Last time I ordered a sandwich and tossed most of it. One wonders how a business could take so little pride in what they do. read more

The Keystone used to be a biker bar called the Butztown Hotel. It has been transformed into something that really brings life to the street corner. They have good specials, and a few local artists that play. The service can be slow when the place is packed. There isn't much of a selection on the menu, but what they do have is good, and they always have specials. read more

The food is really good. I had French Onion Soup and it was one of the best I have had at a dive bar. Furthermore, the food came out really quick. They have a surprising good selection of beers on tap and in bottle as well. The environment is okay, and it is your typical dive bar. Would probably not go back unless I have really nothing better to do. read more

FILTHY! Been coming to the keystone pub a very long time with satisfaction in the food, beer, and staff. Sadly on my last several visits I have noticed a significant decline in the level of overall cleanliness of the place. On Thursday night the downstairs smelled like the worst frat house I was ever in, my feet STUCK to the floor the upstairs carpets were filthy. I created an account here just to post about my favorite bar, the place that actually gets me looking forward to Monday nights. My friends and I always say that if our lives were in a sitcom, although it might be dry and boring, the Pub would be that place that shows up in every episode. Let me explain why it is my favorite bar in the world. #1 Wings: The best wings I have ever had. They are about 3x the size of Starter's with sauces to die for. I like the hot and sweet & spicy. #2 Beer: Monday nights are $6 Yuengling pitchers with a lot of other great specials during the week. Not to mention, I might get someone in trouble for this, but the waitresses seriously hook you up, especially if you become a regular like us. Sometimes charge for three less pitchers than what you actually drank. That brings me to my next point. #3 Waitresses/bartenders. Several smokin hot waitresses (and I'm sure waiters for that matter) who are always on top of things on the hectic Monday nights. Out of all the times I've been there, I haven't disliked one of the servers. #4 Environment: I feel at home when at the pub, perhaps bringing to light my alcoholism. Flat screen televisions everywhere, cool artwork and sports memorabilia. Someone posted how terrible Monday nights are. I disagree, because I think you have to eat downstairs if you are 21. It is much less like a high school dance. You also have to go around the right time, we go at 8 every monday. #5 Monday Night Football: Now that it's football season, what could beat beer wings and MNF? #6 Camaraderie: I have met many friends at the Pub from going there every week. Completely unprofessional establishment. Was informed that I couldn't pay with my card AFTER I had already ordered! Some employee came upstairs and shouted at us, Literally. Saying we had to figure out how to pay the bill. Was forced to hand over my ID in order to leave, no common curtisy. Was repeatedly disrespected by employees. After reading all the negative reviews about Keystone, I felt the need to write this review... Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no die hard fan or anything, but I enjoy going there (for dinner at least, I'm not a bar person) and I think it deserves a little more credit then it's receiving on here. For starters, you need to realize that it is a BAR and they only offer BAR FOOD. If you're looking for a ritzy full course dinner, this isn't the place for you. With that said, their chicken wings are amazing! They are pretty big and you can get them in a few different sauces. My only warning here - They will ROB you for extra dressing, so if you need to smoother your wings in Ranch like I do, bring your own bottle. (Sounds stupid, but really, I do it and they have no problem with it. Once you rack up a $5 charge for extra dressing you'll learn the hard way...) Also, I would NOT recommend coming in for Wing Night on Mondays unless you want to be surrounded by local high school kids. They literally take over the place and it's REALLY annoying. Anyway... They offer some pretty good burgers and their appetizer potato pancakes are amazing. I can honestly say I've never been disappointed with my food. They have outdoor seating upstairs on the porch which hangs out over Easton Avenue, it can get real noisy with the traffic but it's a fun place to hang out. (I like to keep count of how many people drive by that I know, haha) I usually don't go during their real busy times, so I can't complain about the service, but I can definitely see that department slacking on their crazier nights. Downstairs the bar is pretty tiny, which always makes me wonder where they're hiding all the people since the parking lot is always full. But like I said, I'm not a bar person and I've never been there late night for drinks, so I really can't comment on that end of it but if you're looking for an inexpensive meal that consists of your generic bar food or good chicken wings, then I would definitely recommend this place. Very average. If you like fries from the bag and processed cheese for your fries, then you'll like what you get. The service was friendly if not slow. My sons chicken strips were overdone and the wings, while cooked correctly were under sauced. My wife ordered the burger medium and it came well. Understandably, on a Friday evening one would expect a loud crowd, however, you'd also think there would be acoustical management to compensate what was akin to an angry hoard of Viking conquerors. Hearing the waitress was almost impossible, let alone each other to have a conversation. We were not offered a table in the dining area but were taken directly to the bar chairs and the tables for two....no footrests on the stools made them uncomfortable after 10 minutes when the food came. Speaking of the food...compressed burger, frozen fries and onion rings ( I know, because I have made this at home ), and really dry beef on a sandwich. The waitress was sweet and attentive, the staff in general was very polite. That was the highlight, our server. I have to question what kind of dining experience others are used to to rate this establishment a 5. Perhaps they sat in the dining room away from the incredible noise and could actually carry on a conversation. Lucky them. No need to ever return. Buca is right down the road.....go there. read more

Every time I go here, it seems they are very understaffed, and I believe I often see the cooks taking orders/ running food. It's a large place, with two floors (top floor is the sitting area) and they have a patio for when it's warmer weather. The food is great for appetizers (especially the wings) the garlic Parmesan are to die for, very rich and seasoned. The potato skins are also made perfectly with cheddar cheese on top, sprinkled bacon and chives and the outside layer is crispy. Definitely a nice place to get some cheap appetizers. read more

Very disappointed... I went here with my lady to have a couple beers with nachos, and with a trusting heart, opened a tab with the bartender...Big mistake!!!! Not only did they charge my card again without my authority, but the manager who promised she would handle the situation, did nothing about it. This happened on a Saturday and the processing is still going on instead of her just canceling this... I called my bank and explained the situation and was advised to keep my statement as this will be proof to show and report to the BBB. I work to hard and raising a daughter and well the money that's still is being processed for god knows how long was to be used to buy my 2 years old daughter her diapers..,. I will reach out for the last time today, and if this will not be resolved today, I will have no choice but to report this incident to BBB and file a criminal complaint. The Keystone Pub is never the same place twice. There are some good things -- the parking lot. You will have to wait at busier times, and on Mon. nite which is wing nite. However, I have never been there when there was not a host/hostess making sure people were seated in order. I have only had 1 bad meal here, and it was a salad. The lettuce just looked old and wilted and brown. Normally, the Buffalo Chicken salad (hot!) is WONDERFUL! Just be sure you have a drink to wash it down with. The Taco Salads are good too, and come in the crispy shell. The service varies -- sometimes good, sometimes not. I have gone in with varying numbers of parties, and never had a tip automatically added to my bill, so I don't know what that is about. Most of the young male servers there are the better ones. Steak sandwiches are not their strong point, but burgers are good. Nice that the chips that come with sandwiches come in a single serving bag. That way if you don't want them, you can take them with you, or leave them there, but they won't be thrown away and wasted. read more
