We sat here for 10-15 min and no one acknowledged our presence. A waitress who finally saw us was helping another table when she finally made eye contact me with as I looked at her. Then and only then our waitress came over to apologize for the wait. One we were never acknowledged, period. Two we watched you for 10 min walk around us and chit chat with your fellow waitresses and drop off orders at other tables. Did I mention a to go order was taken by a walkin customer and 4 phone calls? I totally understand retail/ restaurant, I've worked it before. Delicious food and friendly service! My friend from El Paso was worried the enchiladas wouldn't be authentic, but she raved about them! I had the French toast, which was fluffy and not overly sweet. My side of fruit was fresh and refreshing. Our friend who ordered the burger said it was juicy and her fries were perfectly seasoned. A small town cafe feel. Great little place for breakfast and lunch! Large variety on the menu and prices are excellent! I must admit I didn't even get to look at the lunch menu for future reference, I was stuck on deciding on just one item for brunch, before I decided I just need to come back once a week to try everything! Homestyle cooking, classic breakfast items and special items like chorizo sausage and gravy or an Italian omelet. A few items have meal size options also. I purchased a Groupon deal that led us to try Keystone Kafe. Some of the reviews had us skeptical about it, but I was pleased with our visit. It's very much a dive in the sense of that simple and casual feel. It gives off the vibe of a place that houses familiar faces of regulars who come in for the home cooked taste of the food and family feel. We both had the Keystone breakfast with 2 eggs, choice of meat, toast and hash browns. It was delicious! The bacon was perfectly crispy and melted in your mouth. I could have ate 10 more pieces. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the hash browns were crisp. The server was nice and was taking care of all the tables on her own, but kept everything flowing well. I look forward to trying lunch when we return for our 2nd Groupon. read more

Food was ok, once it finally arrived. Waited over 45 minutes for it. Food was warm, but the toast was room temperature, as the butter never melted when it was served to us. Place is very disorganized, as apparently they don't use sections for their wait staff. They were a lot of times we noticed the a bell went off indicating that food was ready, but no one didn't bother getting it for 5-10 minutes. Multiple tables got their food late, while others got it quick, and I have no idea why. Only thing I can think of is that no one communicated with each other. I feel bad for Shayne and Mark, as this could be a great little place, and they busted their tails while we were there (I don't know if they are the owners now, but they do own the auction house that is in the same building). Unfortunately, their wait staff failed. My family and I will not be returning. read more

Amazing Cafe (Kafe) ! We were in Omaha for a wedding and this place was recommended to us. Small, charming place and they were able to seat our party together. Service was good, coffee is fresh and hot, just what you want in the morning. We all ordered something different, breakfast burrito, corn beef hash, smothered hash browns, small breakfast, pancakes, and bacon and egg breakfast. Everything was delicious! The burrito shell is a wrap that has cheese in it, something we had never seen before, it totally worked and the burrito was outstanding. The pancakes were perfect, our eggs cooked just right. I ordered the smothered hash browns and it was fantastic. Potatoes with onions, covered in sausage gravy with a bit of cheese and topped with 2 perfectly cooked over easy eggs. Our group was impressed, we cleaned our plates, and we will definitely go back! Highly recommend this place. read more

I had been warning to try this place for quite awhile and finally did this past August on a Saturday morning. I was seated immediately and ordered the biscuits and gravy (which I do at every new diner I try) and also some hash browns, eggs and sausage. It took a bit longer than what I would consider usual for the food to come out, but maybe it felt that way as it was so hot in there. One waitress even told another to check the thermostat while I was there. The food was fine, and it's your standard breakfast fare. There was nothing to make it stand out from the better breakfast spots in town, but it was satisfying and worth the money spent. Service was very friendly. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. It is not at all worth the money either. The dirty environment combined with gross food left me and my husband rushing to leave. I ordered the veggie omlette and was very disappointed. They somehow managed to have raw egg in the middle, the hash browns were under cooked, the butter tasted weird, and the coffee was so bitter (even after cream and sugar) that I couldn't finish a cup. My husband ordered the smothered hash browns only to get two almost completely raw eggs and gross,greasy gravy. The food was so bad it instantly upset my stomach and I had to go home to well, make it come out of me. That sounds over dramatic, but its the truth. This place needs to up their game and learn to cook. I've never had something so bad. read more

We went here on a Sunday during late breakfast. We walked in and were not greeted by anyone and didn't know if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. On the way up to the counter to ask another couple pointed out that a booth was empty so we sat there but were still wondering if it was the right choice as time went on without being greeted by the waitress. Meh. The food was prepared well enough, for what it was, but there were some odd, inexplicable choices made. I ordered the Sunday special, chicken fried chicken. What arrived was not chicken fried chicken. In fact, I couldn't tell if it was even fried. I'm used to chicken fried chicken having an almost bulletproof layer of breading, which was completely missing. The chicken was fine, just not what I thought I was ordering. Vegetables looked like a frozen medley, colored with some application of heat, but not cooked enough for my tooth. Wife didn't fare much better. She ordered biscuits and gravy, and what she got was almost unpalatable. She said, and I confirmed, that they were seasoned with both black and cayenne pepper. I wound up eating them because I'm a glutton for punishment, but if I wasn't there, they would've gone uneaten. Again, not necessarily bad, just a very strange choice. I went out here with a group of friends based on the positive reviews. Service was pretty quick and friendly but overall we were underwhelmed and disappointed by the food here. I was expecting fresh, homemade cafe style food and we received bland, processed food. It was clearly generic products purchased from a large supplier like Sysco. Nothing I couldn't easily make at home. I would not return based on our experience, but thought the owners would be appreciative of some customer feedback. I would like to see better food presentation, more flavor, and better ingredients. read more

I wouldn't even give this place one star. We sat down and weren't greeted. We waited 10 minutes before we even got menus, 20 minutes to even get a water or coffee. We watched several people get up and leave that were there before us and NEVER even got menus. Poor, poor customer service. We watched other customers get up to get their own coffee and they actually walked around and refilled the other table's coffee and THEY DIDN'T EVEN WORK THERE. Breakfast should take no longer than an hour, we were there an hour and a half. Ridiculous. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received at a restaurant. Today was the second time I have eaten at The Keystone Kafe. I should have known after my first visit that I should not go back. Today we came in at 12:15 there were maybe four tables and we sat down. I didn't see anyone to seat us so I let my daughter pick. We waited for about 5 minutes to get menus and order our drinks. We were only given two sets of silverware for a party of three and no kids menu for my three year old. Ten minutes later we received our drinks and I asked for a kids menu. Finally we ordered about 30 minutes after we arrived. I ordered the burger special with a fried egg. It was soo over cooked that a hockey puck has more juice. It came with fries. It was such a small portion that I actually counted my 11 fries. I had also ordered a cup of soup and it didn't come out until after my lunch. The waitress was nice enough but super slow! I will not be back save your money for another place with bigger portions, better service and better quality! read more

I am getting very discouraged about eating here now. The bathroom vent is still dirty after I told him about it. There is a cobweb on the sw wall that just gets bigger. The other day I was there and they had three waitress' and one was only pouring coffee. I asked for our check because the other two were so busy, she did not get it for us.
