This may be my favorite breakfast place in Omaha. I am in love with the pork belly hash. Seems to always be busy. Service is top notch. Never had to ask for a refill on coffee. Fook came out quickly and hot. One of these days I'll have to try this place for lunch.

Very good breakfast food. Eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly! And the blueberry pancakes were also delicious! The meal I ordered came with meat and I asked if I could substitute it for a cup of fruit which they did no problem! Service was pretty good considering they were swamped for a Sunday morning. It did take awhile to be acknowledged when we sat a "we'll be with you shortly" would have been nice just because we felt out of place -- we weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves (you are). Nice place overall.

Apologies, but the food was great!!!

You've gotta like a little place (actually not so little) tucked into a strip mall that knows who it is and creates good food delivered with a smile. We tried Keystone Kafe out on a weekend morning, and clearly others thought about coming as well. It was PACKED. Their menu wasn't messy and showy but a straightforward and thorough presentation of what you might be hungering for at breakfast or lunch. Nothing foo-foo, basic American breakfast and several choices from burgers to burritos for lunch. You know what really made us smile? The old-fashioned coffee mugs! LOVED THEM. Thick mugs that warm your hands and keep your coffee/tea hot. It said, "home," to us. Old School, indeed! Eggs were perfect, bacon was meaty and crispy yet tender, hash browns had a nice crunch, no complaints whatsoever (except that there was no orange marmalade) from our table. We've already made plans to return and prices were reasonable to boot. :-)

We have been to the Keystone Kafe three times on the Fox42 Breakfast Tour, with our first visit being in July and our last visit today. The restaurant is located in a small non-descript strip mall in the Keystone area of Omaha off Military Ave. The mall has a large parking lot and there is no signage on Military Ave., so it is relatively easy to miss if you didn't know that it was in a strip mall. Making things more interesting is the fact that if you are westbound on Military, there is a divider that requires you to enter the shopping center from Templeton Dr. on the east side of the strip mall. There is no way that you can see any indication of the Keystone Kafe before you have to turn on to Templeton Dr. We have found it to be a small and very friendly restaurant, where many customers are repeat customers and know the staff. When you walk in, you choose your own seating, no formal "Wait To Be Seated" here, the waitress will find you very quickly with a welcoming "Good Morning, would you like some coffee?" The Fox42 Breakfast Tour has a Prix Fixe Menu, in the case of the Keystone Kafe, it was either their Potato Casseroles or Omelets: Ham/Broccoli/Onion, 3 meat-Ham/Bacon/Sausage, Mexican-Chorizo/Chili/Cheese. During our visits we had the 3 meat-Ham/Bacon/Sausage, Mexican-Chorizo/Chili/Cheese Omelets. During all visits the food was prepared consistently, as shown by the associated pictures. Come hungry, because you get your money's worth in food and it tastes good too. I think this is a restaurant that we will be returning to, even without the tour card.

My wife and I both ordered the Everett's #2 with pulled chicken, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce. Everything just worked together perfectly. The chicken was tender, the slaw added the right crunch, and the bun tied it all together. It was one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you just look at each other and know you made the right choice. We also ordered the Saucy Rossy wings and they were the perfect heat level for both of us. Not so mild that they're boring and not so hot that you're suffering. Pro tip: get them fried and grilled. The extra texture and flavor are absolutely worth it. My wife is a total Brussels sprouts snob and she was absolutely in love with theirs. The funny part is that I'm usually not much of a Brussels sprouts person, but I kept asking for more off her plate. That alone should tell you how good they were. The fries were okay. Nothing that stole the show, but nothing to complain about either. The service wasn't the best during our visit, but they also had a 30-person table they were dealing with, so it was completely understandable. Even with that, the food was so good that it's already a top 3 meal for my wife. We'll definitely be thinking about those sandwiches, wings, and Brussels sprouts until we're back, and I don't think that'll take very long.

First, our entrées arrived only about five minutes after the appetizer, even though we had not finished it yet. Second, both entrées arrived cold. I ordered the chicken lasagna, and it tasted reheated and was still cold. My girlfriend's short ribs were the same. We sent both dishes back and ordered burgers instead. I asked for mine medium, but it arrived well-done. What disappointed us the most was that neither the manager nor the chef came to the table to apologize or address the situation. Unfortunately for them, we have both worked in the restaurant industry for years, and we know the proper protocol. At the very least, a manager should approach the table when a guest sends a dish back. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

My husband wanted to try the chef's tasting menu but I unfortunately for him wasn't feeling very brave. Just a heads up; if you decide on the chefs tasting menu, everyone at your table needs to do it as well. While slightly less adventurous, we found some truly amazing dishes on their à la carte menu. For a starter, we ended up choosing the featured chovy's egg for the week which included beurre blanc, steelhead roe, and turnip. While I didn't try this myself, my husband enjoyed it. For the rest of the meal we decided to share the fagottini which was filled short rib and was placed on a bed of sweet potato with caramelized onion. The flavors on this were so delicious. The red wine they used was perfect. Next, came the pappardelle bolognese with basil and parmigiano. Again, amazing. So flavorful and so many different textures which elevated the dish so much. Last was our agreed upon favorite, the picanha that was served with a wonderful grilled/smoked cabbage and topped with hollandaise (though I think the menu said it was served with spinach and potato). I loved everything about this dish. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection and the cabbage (a total unsung hero) was delectable! I would 1000% get this dish again. We also both had their Raspberry Beret which was fantastic. A perfect summer drink. They have a little fun with their featured drinks; if the song they are named after is played during your visit, the drink is half-off! While Prince didn't end up serenading us, I do always love a little challenge! Our server was very friendly along with each staff member who brought our various dishes to us. Wow is all I have to say after visiting. I haven't loved everything I've eaten at a restaurant in such a long time. Will definitely be back!

It was a pretty busy evening so we waited a bit for our seats but, for a new restaurant, it was hoppin' and I was glad to see people out and about even on a hot day! Once we were seated our waitress handed us the menu and gave us a moment to look it over. We were seated adjacent to the bar in a long booth. The booth was comfortable and spacious, also a short distance to the bathroom! We all decided on drinks and I went with the Sparkly-berry lemon drink. It was refreshing and had a great balance of the lemon and berry. As I scanned over the menu I loved that they offer gluten free options and a great variety of dishes to satisfy almost any palate! I ultimately chose the Chicken Avo club and went with grilled chicken. I was intrigued that it's served on a croissant bun and had a bunch of my favorite foods in it. It's served with bacon, avocado, chicken, Swiss cheese, tomato, napa slaw, honey, mustard, and garlic aioli. it was excellent! Albeit messy, it was well worth it! Served with a side of fries, which is what my heart truly desired, the whole meal looked as if it would been easy to finish each bite. But the portion size was perfect enough that I actually couldn't finish the whole sandwich. The fries were perfectly crisp and quenched my fries thirst. The four of really enjoyed our time here. We got to catch up and enjoy a great meal at a new to us place where all of us ate something we would come back for. Our server was great! She was quick, friendly, professional, and answered any questions we had. I definitely will come back here again if I'm on this side of town!
