Walked in on a Tuesday night sat down for an immediate service. My nail tech was a pleasant woman who gave me neglected hands a great manicure. The cuticle work and painting was exceptional. Best of all my non shellac manicure was only $15.00! The location is difficult to find at night. It's on the Right hand SIDE of the Bedford mall. (Right of bobs sports store) it's not well lit and frankly looked closed despite being open. The interior is fine. Nothing special but appeared clean. I would certainly return. read more

I came here because one of my favorite nail technicians came here and of course I wanted to support him! Come to find out he now owns Key Nails! Ben is a phenomenal person, nail technician, and business owner. He is renovating the inside to make it his own and it's so fresh and clean. Everyone I saw in there left happy and were treated well. Recently went to try this place in a Saturday afternoon. It was dead inside. I had a regularly pedi and gel mani. Started off with a pedi, menu of services was provided the woman pointed to the most expensive pedi and I had to tell her no thank you and ask for a classic basic pedi. There was a dirty cotton ball in the cup holder of the pedi chair. Overall the pedicure was relaxing. Until it came time to paint them. She got sloppy with the paint and used a brush dipped in remover to try and clean up the paint on my skin. It looked rough. The gel mani wasn't great either. Nails were blotchy un even and not painted down to the cuticle. To the point where my better half asked if they already grew out when I got home. 80 dollars not including a tip. She was really sweet but seemed nervous. The man who I spoke to when I got there was cold and lazy. Was on his phone watching tv instead of cleaning and helping out. Wouldn't go back. read more

By far the best nail place in the Lakes Region. They accommodate any request such as if you do not like your nails as thick as most places make them. (acrylic nails) they also do great with designs. just bring in a picture that you would like done. read more

Never had an experience like this at a nail salon before I went in with my two children they were sitting in massage chairs next to me they were not busy. They had two other people in there, and the woman is going to come over and pick up my children because they were getting excited they kept saying they were almost falling they were not I know my children she's going to put her hands on my kids and pick them up and move them to a different seat and then complain when they keep asking to get up and get near me and tell me to control my kids had a problem with my kids being in there with me in the first place as soon as I walked in, was mad and rolling their eyes, they are ignorant people was going to argue and yell at me because my kids were with me telling me to control my children, then bringing other customers in on it, trying to get them to yell at me. read more

I went here this afternoon for a mani/pedi. Started off with the pedicure where the nail tech cut my toe. My toe wouldn't stop bleeding despite giving it a good amount of time to do so; I requested to end the pedicure early as I would be unable to have all of my toes painted given the bleeding. Where to begin! I was thankful I was able to get an appointment on a Saturday morning but I will NOT be back. I scheduled a manicure and pedicure for myself and a manicure for my mother. We showed up and the place was EMPTY not a single other person was in the establishment. I advised the woman employee that I wanted a pedicure minus the soaking and my mom wanted a manicure without any nail polish color & just a clear coat (don't see the problem here). I called in the morning for an appointment for my dughter and I . The women who answered the phone said she couldnt do 5 but could do 4:45. I told her we would arrive at 4:30 so there was no rush. We arrived and there were no customers at all in the shop. They were not very friendly and especilly after they told my daughter to hurry up and pick her color because they were on a tight time frame. Mine came out ok by Mary but the women who did my daughters came out horribly. Not only was she rough and not very nice, the nails are crooked, different lenths, lumpy and all different shapes (if you can call them that). I called this morning and said mine were "ok" (still some lumpy) but I wanted my money back for my daughters. They said they do not give money back but she could come back and they will redo them. I am quite sure my teenager is not going to feel comfortable going back to the unfriendly environment to have them redone. We definitely will not be going back. read more

Eh. This is my second time to this establishment. It is fairly clean, and they have new pedi chairs which was fancy, but the massage wasn't effective. Basically, it just vibrated my entire upper body, but no muscles were massaged. Anyways, both times I have gotten just a pedicure, and both times I watched the folks next to me get much more extensive cuticle work, and massage. The leg massage was maybe 2 minutes a leg, and the paint job was some of the worst I have ever seen-it looks better in the picture than in person. I didn't notice it was so bad until after I examined it when I got home. Just terrible. The staff was nice enough, but terrible execution. Let's start with the address. The address is wrong. On the website says 71 S. River Rd. It's 79 S. River Rd. They sent us in the wrong direction. It's in the back by Bobs store in the plaza. My friend and I planned for a relaxing girls day. We chose to get the signature mani and pedi. Starting out with the pedi my feet were in the water for less than 30 seconds before she started working on my toes. I would have preferred to soak longer like most places do for you. From there my feet were in and out of the water every 30 seconds. She proceeded on with scrubbing then lotioned and gave a quick, VERY light massage. The whole thing felt not rushed but quick, like lets get them in and out kind of service. Polish the toes and on to the hands. Then mani was supposed to include the paraffin wax, shoulder massage as well as the hand massage. All we got was the hand massage and the quick soaking of the fingers. She did a good job on cleaning the cuticles and painting. We were very much looking forward to the shoulder massage and paraffin hand treatment and never got it. Disappointing to have asked for a certain service and they ignored it. Luckily we didn't pay for the service we booked but it was still disappointing to have not received it as that was what prompted us to go there. We have both chosen to never come back. Horrible horrible horrible. Went there for a shellac manicure. I was literally in and out in less than 20 minutes, including the time it took me to pick my color which took almost 5 minutes. The moment the guy started to file my nails I knew it was going to be bad. He didn't cut any cuticle at all, and the paint job was horrific. He said he worked there for 15 years, I would be embarrassed to say something like that with his work ethic. On top of it it was $30 with no designs or anything. One of the better and cleaner spots in the area for a reliable pedicure/manicure or fill. I've had all of the above and usually am satisfied. The customer service is great and they always tell you if something chips within a couple of days or you're unhappy, to come back and they will fix it for free. The pedicures are the best I've had and they're $25 or $30. I've paid upward of $50 or $60 for a spa pedicure at a high-end salon, and it didn't last nearly as long as the one from Key. I will continue to go back. There's usually a wait and Saturday's are packed, but they try and get you in within 15-20 min, even if you have an appt. read more

I made an appointment here on a Wednesday and the place was packed, granted it was 5:30 pm. They were missing appointments though. I guess everyone who came in after me had an appointment but the place was so behind some people were leaving. I waited a bit and the pedi and mani I had were not very good. I could have done a better job. The people are very nice, but they pretty much ignore you when you walk in, I was like Hello, I have an appointment. The person who did my pedicure, it was the weirdest pedicure I ever had, he basically filed and slapped around the tool that takes all of the dead skin off. I don't even think he got any. The manicure was worse, I basically paid $40 something dollars for them to just paint my nails, there was no maintenance or clean up that they did. i will stick with K&T nails in Manchester, they always do a great job and take the time to actually clean up my cuticles. I also paid on a credit card and I tipped on it, but then turned around to leave and there was a sign that said no tipping on a credit card, so I was a little confused but no one said anything to me. read more

I have been here a few times as I now live closeby and don't really have anything great to say. The employees are not very friendly or inviting. The last time I went there (on Saturday), the place was empty and I didn't have an appointment so they were able to take me right away. I just wanted a gel manicure. I got a guy who didn't smile and was not very friendly at all. It seemed as though this was the last place on earth that he wanted to be. The manicure lasted about 15-20 minutes and with very minimal effort. The paint job is pretty bad (paint on my cuticles and outside of the nail altogether). Also, every other time I've gotten gel manicures, the polish lasts for almost 2 weeks -- however, mine is already chipping after 2 days! Went to this salon on 4/14 when I was traveling there from Chicago for business. Got a no chip/gel mani & pedi. It lasted 30 days! It was awesome - such a long time and no chips at all on either mani or pedi. Took me late in evening and did great work. Clean and wasn't too busy. Nice to find when out of town. read more

I have been there a few times and I can't find a single good thing about them. The nail techs are not friendly or inviting and they are extremely aggressive when handling the nails, one time when I went there I started bleeding due to the aggressive ways they were handling my nails. Today I asked for an accent nail with stars on it, they didn't have any stick on ones which I was a little annoyed by, but I understood the situation. She tried drawing a star free hand. I didn't know it was that difficult to draw a star as a trained nail tech but I guess it is, she tried drawing it several times and it looked terrible each and every time, so I eventually just told her I didn't want the design anymore. I get that nobody's perfect but you really can't draw a STAR as a trained nail tech? Yikes. Anyways I am very disappointed in having to pay for nails that I don't even like. Will not going be there ever again after the two experiences I have had. read more

the people in the facility are very kind and enjoyable to talk to however my nails are a hot mess there bumpy and really thick and off color and i just got them done. i was also surprised to see that when i walked in it was empty which was a shock because the two other nail salons we were looking at going were booked full. i finally grew my nails over my finger tips and they were filed down to almost nothing. i'm pretty disappointed and wish my experience was better. however today i'm getting them redone for free which i really appreciate so hopefully they turn out better this time. read more

My wedding was in September and I went to Key Nails with my bridal party looking for some pampering and fun with my very special girls. My mother made an appointment for us explicitly stating that we were a wedding party and that we wanted to all be together getting our mani/pedis. Immediately upon my arrival and to my surprise, two of my bridesmaids were already sitting down getting their manicures, while the other three bridesmaids were being pressured to "pick a color" and get started. I tried not let that bother me, because it was a special day! With that being said things only got worse. The pedicure I received took all of ten minutes. There was no scrub and my feet were left feeling pretty much the same way I felt when I came in. Then it was time for my manicure...the manicurist didn't even use the tool to take off the dead skin around my cuticles. I got a shellac manicure and was left with hard shellac all around my fingers nails and skin. We left and I showed my wedding party what my hands looked like. I am not the person who normally complains, and for that matter have never written a negative review in my life, but this experience was horrific. After lunch, my wedding party talked me into going back and having my nails redone. Immediately upon arrival, the whole staff was staring at me and talking about me the whole time I had my nails redone. Extremely rude! I walked out of the salon feeling embarrassed on the one day that should have been perfect and social for me. I will never go back to Key Nails and will advise any one I speak to to avoid it as well! Never had a pedicure before, as I have always done them for myself. I decided for once that I should try getting it done professionally. My husband had an appointment near the salon that day and I let him drop me off and told him I would be at least an hour to an hour and a half. I had called earlier when they opened to see if I could come in within the hour, and they said no problem. I arrived and there were about three or four people I assumed working there, (one woman was just kinda hanging out toward the back in one of the pedicure chairs reading a magazine, maybe answering the phone?). There was one other customer having her nails done, and was almost finished. Before I continue, I just want to add... I have always felt like it would be embarrassing or awkward to have someone else touching my feet. I have by no means, awful feet, but they have mild rough patches here and there. My worst nightmare would be to have someone do a pedicure and look grossed out or something so I had never gone. A family member who lives out of state, who by the way has nightmare hooves (just sayin'), got hers done at her local salon, and that pedicurist used dark magic or something, because her feet look beautiful now! So I thought, "what the heck, I might as well go and at least get a relaxing foot soak and a nice chair massage!" since that seems to be what everyone always raves about. At Key, I walked in and he got the water running and a bucket of what looked like, well used tools and ordered me to pick out my polish. I did, and told him I had never done this before, so just kind of let me know what to do. He had me sit in the chair and put my feet in the water, for not even 5 minutes. He sat there the entire time. I saw the controller thingy for the chair but didn't know what button did what, and felt awkward just pressing buttons, so I didn't. I think he saw me fiddling with it but never said anything. I tried to have a conversation with him but that was awkward because it really seemed more than anything like he didn't want to be there. My pedi was awkward and not very thorough and my mani was just okay. We were done with everything in about 45 min. I was dropped off so that sucked. I waited at the door for the next 45 minutes because that was really all I could do. All the workers moved to the couches that I assume are like a waiting area when they are feeling more inviting... But that day no one offered me a seat or anything extra, and maybe not even all that I paid for. I went home and did my pedi as I usually do, and soaked my feet for a little longer just to relax. He did paint my toe nails very nicely so 1 star it is. I haven't gotten any foot fungus or anything so playing Russian roulette with dirty scrubbers was lucky for me! Luckily he barely dragged them over the bottoms of my feet so that probably worked in my favor. Won't be returning. read more

I've been going to Key for years. They are friendly, skilled and run a good business. The prices are good and the mani, shellac, and pedi services are excellent. Best in the Manch area and better than many high-end spas that I've been to. If you go on the weekend call ahead to see how they're running and make an appt. Ok, yes, Key Nails is decently clean. But that is all I have to say to shed a positive light on this salon. I got married in Amherst, NH and am not from the area, but my mom found this place and we hoped for the best. My mom made 10 mani/pedi appointments and when we arrived there were chairs for all of us-great! BUT we rushed, with 15 minute pedicures, a lousy color choice, no acknowledgment that we were a) a wedding party or b) that I was the bride. They did a clumsy job and I even had my mom go over each girls nails with a fine tooth comb to make sure they were done correctly. My mother in law never gets her nails done and didn't know you're supposed to sit at the drying station and thus smudged her nails. Thank god I had purchased an Essie polish a few weeks back that I thought I'd like to use because I almost had a breakdown choosing my colors (I take my nail color VERY seriously). I will never go back here or recommend this salon to any bride. It should've been a couple hours of relaxation and fun and instead it was 1 hour of stress, rushing and the only time I acted Bridezilla like during my 10 month engagement. read more
