Stopped in for a spontaneous gel pedicure while waiting for my car to be serviced across the street. I was going to start looking at the polish on display for colors but was ushered into a chair right away and given a bucket of color swatches to choose from. They were able to accommodate me as a walk-in which was great, but feeling rushed as soon as you come in a salon is never a good start. I wish I could've taken a minute to look at color on the wall. (easier than digging through a bin of nail rings.) Salon seemed clean at first glance. No tub liner was used in the pedicure bath, which was a bit alarming. My tech did not say a word to me the whole time, which I understand could be language barrier or just not in the mood- totally fine. Note there is no TV, so I was using my phone to entertain myself during the service. I forgot to turn on the massage chair until half way through, which was a bummer. Usually they ask if you want the chair on at the start. Anyway, Instead of tapping lightly on my foot when ready to change feet or just asking me to change feet, the tech grabbed and pushed/pulled my feet around by my toes, that was totally new- not something I had ever experienced before nor did I appreciate. The leg/foot massage was the best part she really went in on my legs! I like a strong massage- and it was definitely on the stronger side. The polish color on my toes came out fine. We are about a month since my service and polish is still intact. -Overall, just ok. read more

If I had the option on yelp, I would give this salon a zero out of five stars. I had an appointment for a mani/pedi...started with the pedicure in which I had asked for a "sparkly white" gel polish...I just got white...also they didn't give me the full pedicure experience (foot scrub, message etc)....I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt when it was time for my dip manicure, once AGAIN, I asked for a "sparkly white" color....I swear this girl didn't even have your license to do nails...It took her an hour to do my nails which weren't even fully painted and UNEVEN..I asked the "artist" if she could finish the rest of my nail (as I pointed to the corner that had NO NAIL POLISH ON IT AT ALL)..SHE REPLIED WITH "I'm sorry, I tried" and proceeded to charge my $80... I've been to dozens of nail salons in NH and Boston, and Swan does the best acrylics I've seen. She's been doing nails for a long time, and that comes across in her skill level. She works fast, but at the same time is very meticulous. They have a nice color selection in both regular and gel polishes. Swan knows almost every polish by name! She's also very capable of executing nail art designs -- I've brought in pictures of nail inspo and she's done a great job at recreating the artwork. A lot of other salons I've been to don't know how to shape acrylics well, they come out uneven and crooked. Swan has an eye for detail and my stiletto talons always end up looking great! If you're going on a Friday or Saturday, make sure to call ahead and make an appointment. They get pretty busy those days, but it's still worth the wait. I very highly recommend Hollywood Nails, and Swan especially! read more

The entire family who operated this Salon, is absolutely wonderful! Always making sure my sister and I feel like we, ourselves, are apart of their family as well. I've never had the pleasure of being able to truly feel comfortable in any other nail salon. Swan, always takes her time, offering subtle suggestions to better your experience and overall vision you wish to have. She has always been so diligent in the happiness of her customers. She's bends backwards to ensure her client's satisfaction. I would dare say no one holds a candle to the quality of her work and designs. Never one broken, crooked nail or early fill needed! Came back to this place after a few years (I moved), and what brought me back was the fact that they used to be really good... I decided to get a full set and asked for PINK AND WHITE, the lady mumbled something in Chinese and said OK. She proceeded to work on my full set and when I realized she was just doing regular acrylics. When I questioned she said "I do better like this for you, it will look good like pink white, better for you, I do gel polish ok?" -_____- Well, needless to say not only she did not do what I asked but my acrylics were awful... Horribly thick, uneven and the painted on white was yellowish (gel polish supposedly) and started to come off after a few days, which I have never seen happen before... Had to get a fill at a different salon (another adventure :0 ) costing me $100 between the two, and never got what I wanted. read more

went here For the first time And will not go back. She cut all my nails down short when I did not want that. The gel nail polish didn't even cover my whole nail. I've had it for 2 days and my nails are breaking and the nail polish is already chipping . I get my nails done regularly and that has never happened to me with gel... especially after 2 days. I changed my nail lady to this location because they are so clean. Very detail oriented when taking a Mani and peti literally taking all the dead skin off which is amazing and even going back and making sure that the detail is right on point even if there is more loose skin. I just pay attention to detail myself and I have noticed that the place is clean if the place is clean then I can trust that person so thank you for always being kind. read more

Love this salon and love Swan! I've been to salons all over Nashua and surrounding area- this is the only place I go to now and it's been that way for over a year! Other salons make me feel like an intruder, make the process like an assembly line, and don't even do the best work. I get dip nail polish and a pedicure/ they do the best here! Very clean from the moment I walked in I was greeted right away. The lady doing my manicure was very meticulous with my cuticles and making sure my nails were perfect. Bonus they take cards and allow you to place the tip on your card something many places don't and I'm grateful for since I hardly ever carry cash. read more

I won't lie: when a coworker recommended this nail salon I was worried. I tend to prefer salons where everyone speaks English and they don't talk in a different language in front of you. But honestly I've had horrible experiences at both types of salons so I decided to try it. The fact that it was close to where I work was a huge selling point. I stopped by one night to find out what their pricing was like. It was competitive with other salons, and I didn't find that they were any cheaper than other salons I've tried. What I did notice is that they don't take appointments. You sign your name on a waiting list and hope that the people ahead of you will be done soon. On the next day I came by at 11:15. There were three women working and they each had clients. I waited 15 minutes before being taken over for my full set. Overall the work they did was OK. One woman filed my natural nails with the electric drill and pushed back my cuticles, and a second woman put my set on. The second woman did cut the cuticle on my thumb a bit with the electric drill, but I've had people using a file by hand do that, too. I chose to get pink and white acrylics with a gel overlay. I felt like I was a bit confused with what was being put on my nails - admittedly they didn't explain it well. Thankfully I've been to a few nail salons so I knew what I was getting. In retrospect I would go back, but that is largely based on my ability to get my nails done during a lunch hour. I'm still not thrilled that they don't accept appointments, and I think if I hadn't gone in when I had I would have ended up waiting a great deal of time longer for a fill. read more

I walked in asking for help to remove an old shellac manicure. This was not my first time there, however, they did not do this manicure. I ended up getting the owner who became completely RUDE while trying to remove my old color. "you didnt have this done here, I can tell, I dont have this color" -- Ok, you caught me. I didnt have time at christmas to make an appointment so I went to a place near work on my lunch. And per the usual asian nail salon, she starts talking in their language to another girl who now comes over to the table where we were and start oogling at my hands. I asked her, what was wrong. Only she answered me that it was not coming off very easily and wanted to know if the other salon used a top coat. (*I have no idea, Im not the one who did the paint job but I was pretty sure that they did.) The way this woman made me feel, I found myself apologizing to her and mentioned that I would come back next week to have the full mani/pedi done prior to my departure & while speaking to her co worker in their language, I heard Mani/pedi in the ying yang lang talk. The owner working on me had such a puss on her face the entire time. She resorted to the drill to file off the old color which Im sure thinned out my already weak nails! I only asked for clear since Im traveling next week and didnt really want to have them "done" again until right before I leave. She got clear nail polish all over my thumb skin so I asked her to clean it up, she rolled her eyes at me!!! Hello sweetheart, this is what you signed up for! you are in the "service" business. Dont fault a customer who most likely is not knowing of what another salon had done. After the eye roll, I couldn't take it anymore, I leaned in and said, you have made this visit completely awkward and uncomfortable & I will probably never come back! Not to mention that she OVER charged me!! $19 to remove the old paint because she had to "work" at it..... And now I will blast them on every social media board I can find! read more

I have never, in my life left a negative review for a place of business. However, today my friend and I decided to get our nails done and decided on Hollywood Nails. We walked in and there was only one employee (let's call her Employee A) finishing someone's nails so they sat us immediately. Employee B started working on my friend right away... after a few minutes of being sat another male customer walked in and asked about a wait time for his wife. Employee A said she would call the wife when one of them was available to take her. A few minutes later the man and wife came back... and Employee B, who was working on my friends nails, got up from the minimal amount of work she had done on my friend's nails (maybe pushing down/cutting her cuticles) to do this other woman's nails. Now at this point we've been seated for about 20 minutes. I have yet to be acknowledged besides them telling me to pick a color (which I did when we arrived because they said to do so as soon as we walked in). When Employee A was finished with the original customer who was there when we walked in she took over for Employee B who left my friend. Employee B came back and rushed through my friends nails. Then moved over to start mine after 40 minutes of me sitting there ONLY TO HAVE ANOTHER CUSTOMER WALK IN AND HAVE HER ABANDON ME AGAIN. I voiced my displeasure to my friend as Employee A was finishing her nails. Employee A then finished my nails - didn't even sit down as she was doing them because she was rushing. She obviously heard me complaining about the service because I got an extra dollop of lotion on my hands at the end. It pained me to pay for my nails because they do not look good at all. We should have gotten up after the first time they abandoned us and had us sitting there for 20 minutes while they serviced other people who had arrived AFTER us. I've gotten my nails done plenty of times to know that these employees know how to multitask like no one else; however, to sit for 40 minutes to have my nails rushed and be done in 10 was ridiculous. read more

I have been getting my nails done on and off for almost 20 years. I've been to several places including this one. I have not been in years. I went in today to get a fill done. I felt they were rushing to get me done so they could work on their regulars. I also feel as if I was forgotten for awhile. The nails do look great. Best looking they've been in a while. I brought my daughter here for her first mani pedi after Christmas. What I had envisioned to be a special mother daughter experience was far from special. They had zero patience for my three year old (who was on her best behavior). It was so disappointing that I will never return. I would have only given one star but they only charged us $5 for the mani-pedi. I would have spent far more if they had made the experience just a tiny bit special. Clean. Often a long wait (because they take their time with you, which is good). Social. Most employees are great - a couple don't do a good polish job, though. Swan & Mai are good! Having just moved to the Nashua area, I called around late on Saturday to find everyone was closed or closing. Hollywood nails answered and told me to come on in, she would fit me in. I've had every girl that works there and each one takes their time and gives a great manicure. I have natural nails and my manicure lasts for just about a week before the top edge of the polish starts wearing off. Great place and highly recommend. read more

I am a bartender and had not had nails on since my wedding three years ago either due to budget or time or both. I see lots of customers weekly and I see lots of nails, both that the customers have and some co-workers. I have seen TONS of botch jobs, even from the nail salon right next door to my work. I decided to start asking everyone who had great looking nails where they went....and ALL of them said "oh, Hollywood Nails on D.W. Highway". So 2 weeks ago on a Monday, I called the place and the girl made me an appointment for 30 minutes later. The girl who did my nails was the same girl who booked my appointment so she welcomed me with a nice friendly smile, took the time to ask what I want for length, shape, color etc. I am very pleased with how they came out and have received TONS of compliments and have passed on the name of the place to give them more business. I plan on calling them in a bit to book my fill for tomorrow, my new nail girl works on my two days off, how perfect is that? Additionally, I like the fact that the pedicure area is in a separate room around the corner and not in the sightline of the entrance or the manicure area so I just might book a double for tomorrow! read more
