She works fast, but at the same time is very meticulous. They have a nice color selection in both regular and gel polishes. Swan knows almost every polish by name! She's also very capable of executing nail art designs -- I've brought in pictures of nail inspo and she's done a great job at recreating the artwork. A lot of other salons I've been to don't know how to shape acrylics well, they come out uneven and crooked. Swan has an eye for detail and my stiletto talons always end up looking great! If you're going on a Friday or Saturday, make sure to call ahead and make an appointment. They get pretty busy those days, but it's still worth the wait. I very highly recommend Hollywood Nails, and Swan especially!

I was going to start looking at the polish on display for colors but was ushered into a chair right away and given a bucket of color swatches to choose from. They were able to accommodate me as a walk-in which was great, but feeling rushed as soon as you come in a salon is never a good start. I wish I could've taken a minute to look at color on the wall. (easier than digging through a bin of nail rings.) Salon seemed clean at first glance. No tub liner was used in the pedicure bath, which was a bit alarming. My tech did not say a word to me the whole time, which I understand could be language barrier or just not in the mood- totally fine. Note there is no TV, so I was using my phone to entertain myself during the service. I forgot to turn on the massage chair until half way through, which was a bummer. Usually they ask if you want the chair on at the start. Anyway, Instead of tapping lightly on my foot when ready to change feet or just asking me to change feet, the tech grabbed and pushed/pulled my feet around by my toes, that was totally new- not something I had ever experienced before nor did I appreciate. The leg/foot massage was the best part she really went in on my legs! I like a strong massage- and it was definitely on the stronger side. The polish color on my toes came out fine. We are about a month since my service and polish is still intact. -Overall, just ok.

Response from the owner 26 minutes ago Thank you for your review and feedback. However, I must clarify an important detail regarding our pricing and services. You had requested a soak off, which is priced at $22, in addition to the hard gel service which is $45, bringing your total to $67. It's important to note that the soak off process is time-consuming and can take up to an hour. I called you back to address and rectify any concerns you had with the service. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a response from you. It's important to us that our reviews reflect the full extent of our efforts to satisfy our clients, including our attempts to resolve any issues. When I called to book a pedicure, a man answered the phone and it sounded like he was driving in…read morethe car--however, he said they had availability for 11:45 so I booked it. When I got there, the staff were friendly but all three were busy with clients. I waited a very long time to be seen despite the appointment. I couldn't help but to feel bad for the women working because it started to dawn on me that the man who said there was availability for an 11:45 appointment was likely (driving) thus not at the salon and didn't check with them if they could take clients at that time. This is just my speculation. Anyways, after about 15 minutes of waiting, I was taken back to the pedicure area. They filled up the water which was very hot at first. There was only one woman giving a pedicure, and it became clear that I would be waiting for her to be finished and she looked about half way through. I waited so long that the scorching water was body temperature, and nobody gave me an update despite not being taken until about 35 minutes after my appointment time. As an aside, the salon was very dirty. Honestly I wanted to leave after sitting in the (cooling) foot bath for so long, but I'm a people pleasure and felt bad just getting up. But I was battling black flies, and noticed bugs crawling on the floor. There was dust and hair all along the base boards and corners, old nail polishes strewn about underneath things and the trash in the pedi area was overflowing. There were dirty fish tanks that looked like fish hadn't lived in them for weeks. Gross!! The only reason I gave two stars is because the woman who did my nails did a decent job. She didn't file until after the gel was applied so that some of the gel color actually appears scraped off at the top. Also, the tools used are not disposable or individually packed or not even sitting in a sanitizer. I ended up taking my chances here for last minute Sunday availability, but rest assured won't be coming back.

I walked in to KD Nails back in July, I believe. I was in the area because my husband was doing…read moresome electrical work that would take a while, so I decided to find a nail salon to get my nails done. I walked in right behind David, who had just gotten back from lunch (food in hand!) and I asked if they had time for me. David took me immediately and put his lunch away. I've been to many nail salons trying to find "that" experience..the one we all look for when receiving a service. Comfortable, clean, and relaxing. None of the salons I've ever been to have checked every box..or even verbally communicated with me during my appointment...until I walked in to KD Nails and sat with David. The whole first appointment, David and I had conversation, and it was light and engaging. It was a breath of fresh air to be spoken to during my appointment and not just sitting in awkward silence! It was a great appointment and i realized that I have found my salon! I went for a couple more appointments, perfect experience each time, and he remembered our conversations and things that were going on in my life that we had spoken about. It was really a very personal experience. I booked yet another appointment and added a pedicure to it. The pedicure was so nice and relaxing, and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time! I have been back about 5 or 6 times since my first walk-in appointment, and I will continue to go to KD Nails for all of them, and I live in Manchester! Although David is leaving soon, Katie will be taking over my nails! I had my first appointment with her today and it was just as good as every other appointment I've had there. They make you feel like family, welcome and very personable. Thanks guys!!

I also needed my nails filled BADLY, it was driving me nuts! And I'll admit she was accommodating with time, I called just before 6:30 and they closed at 7 and she still said to come in, which was greatly appreciated! But had I known it would've turned out like this I definitely would have gone somewhere else or waited to go to the original place that did them. Not only was the place dirty (say hi to the nasty spider hanging out at the bottom of the entrance door!) but the place has this odd funky smell (not normal nail salon smell either, more like stale water damage funk) . But the worst part is after only 3 DAYS! My nails are chipping, the polish on the thumb is basically coming off as one piece, she changed the shape without confirming it was ok, also thinned them too, and the polish after 3 coats wasn't remotely even from finger to finger, some you can see clear through it, (which I should have walked out as soon as I looked at the selection on the wall because they were all separated and noticably old and had been sitting there for God knows how long!) Also I had asked her to fix the polish on the edges because it didn't cover the whole nail, instead she started to just file it down instead until I stopped her! And then to top it off when I was paying, maybe it's just me idk, but you don't ask your customer about a tip! If you get it cool but it's definitely not mandatory and shouldn't make people feel obligated, especially when you did a crappy job! Worst experience in a nail salon ever!
