We've been coming back 2x/month for the last 2 years since we moved here but our last few experiences and the worst being today were so bad we're going to have to find a new place and will not be returning. It wasn't just the bad nail job, neither of us getting what we paid for, (it's not like nails don't grow back) or not being offered water when the person right next to us was who already had water... it was the overall bad customer service.. My mom and I went in today for 2 powder manicures and 2 deluxe pedicures totaling $235. Not that the price would be a problem usually we like to pay for good service and believe you get what you pay for but when you pay the higher price, you do expect certain results. Because this is the 4th time that we have had a negative experience in the last few months I am left to believe that this is how it will be from now on. My mom and I were given 2 very bad nails jobs (I Have attached photos). And we're not given everything that we had paid for originally. The pedicure Deluxe had come with dead skin peeling with the rap and also a massage. Usually the massages I get last anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes if it's a good massage where is my massage last to head less than 5 minutes and My mom and I reverse burn by the stones. Neither of our pedicures came with the dead skin peeling like their brochure had said we paid for and when I told one of the employees who appeared to be the manager and the 1 speaking for the other employees he said that they don't do it like all the other places and that they don't take off all the dead skin because then the feet would be sensitive to walk on and leave just enough on which sounded like an excuse to do less considering the fact that I still had calluses that needed to be shaven off and feeling my feet now I can feel where they should have done more. They also got nail polish on my skin and not just little dots the size of a needlepoint the dots were the size of the end of the nail polish brush. And multiple dots. Not to mention I was not given the complete pedicure experience with my cuticles being cut ( I still had dead skin all around my cuticles ). Same thing went for my manicure. Also, a chunky dried layer of clear polish is stuck underneath my finger tips and is glued to my skin which hurts. But not just under my fingernails also on top of my fingers as well that you will see in the photos where my skin is glossy. My mom was given the same pedicure experience as me and on top of that her manicure was not even what she asked for. She wanted powder and the woman working on her nails gave her half powder half gel which is not what she asked for. By the time my mom realized it was already too late she was almost done. I so wish that today had went differently. We have always been very good customers and very loyal customers. This will be the last time that we go to McKaylie's nails. Such a shame.. this place was so great.

I question places that…read moreare small and have openings, but she was only home for an overnight stay and we were looking for a girl's date. What a weird and uncomfortable experience! First, the technician was having difficulty understanding that I was asking for glitter colors. I guess "sparkle" finally did it. She was getting frustrated. Next, the water was borderline cold. She used a dremel and actually burned me! When I said "ouch!" She then switched to a file. On my other foot, she caught me with the nail clippers. I got the impression the tools were not sanitized, (they did not come from a closed package) which is very concerning. I'm hoping for no infection. Every time she had to work on that nail afterward, it hurt. I don't have toenails on my big toes, they were removed years ago. I have had many pedicures and no technician has ever made a big deal over it. They skip over or ask if I want the area painted. Some just opt to do that. The technician said "Woah! What happened with that?! What I do with it??"' when she saw the first one, so I showed her the second one so it wasn't a surprise, too. Awkward. The scrub was decent, but the "massage" was whole lot of slapping my legs, which was odd. No callous removal. While this was happening, another patron asked "Aren't I supposed to get some lotion on my hands with a manicure? My hands are dry." A technician different from the one already working with her came over and apologized and told her she could come back another day for that. What?? While my nails were air drying, she was changing the plastic in the tub around my legs. I feel like maybe that could have waited? The technician was not gentle at all, and it definitely was not a relaxing or fun experience. I'm writing this as it's happening, I'll be curious to hear how it went for my daughter. **At the end of the appointment she told me her technician did acrylic nails when she asked for gel. She didn't know until he didn't cure them because the process is much the same. Would steer clear.

I walked in right behind David, who had just gotten back from lunch (food in hand!) and I asked if they had time for me. David took me immediately and put his lunch away. I've been to many nail salons trying to find "that" experience..the one we all look for when receiving a service. Comfortable, clean, and relaxing. None of the salons I've ever been to have checked every box..or even verbally communicated with me during my appointment...until I walked in to KD Nails and sat with David. The whole first appointment, David and I had conversation, and it was light and engaging. It was a breath of fresh air to be spoken to during my appointment and not just sitting in awkward silence! It was a great appointment and i realized that I have found my salon! I went for a couple more appointments, perfect experience each time, and he remembered our conversations and things that were going on in my life that we had spoken about. It was really a very personal experience. I booked yet another appointment and added a pedicure to it. The pedicure was so nice and relaxing, and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time! I have been back about 5 or 6 times since my first walk-in appointment, and I will continue to go to KD Nails for all of them, and I live in Manchester!
