It was a shot in the dark, I couldn't stand the disappointment on their face. The lady came back and said yes she could squeeze them in. How amazing. I know how it feels at the end of a shift and wanting to go home so I was so appreciative thanking the receptionist whole heartedly. Their new location is insanely busy they do amazing work here in Bedford and have a following from their last location. They did not have to say yes and I didn't expect them too. But that shows the type of customer service they have and amazing company they run. The owner was doing my wife's nails when I came in to pay he had been working all day. The very first thing he did was stop what he was doing and grabbed me an ice cold beer. He already had me at hello...lol..this great man had twin babies at home which were two of four kids. He stayed late to make sure they got their nails done. That's incredible dedication. I called the salon/spa as soon as we hung up with his sister. The person that answered the phone said it was no issue and she was very kind. Unfortunately, later that evening we received an email stating we were no-shows and we were then charged $300 on our credit card. I called to speak to the owner on Monday. Instead of being, compassionate and kind she lectured me on how many visits I had to cancel in the past year. She agreed to the refund but inferred that I am not welcome back and also would not let-up on the cancellation history. We've been frequent guests at BVI over the years and even held our daughter's wedding shower there in 2024. It's disappointing that an experience at Luxe has now colored how I feel about the property as a whole, given how loyal we've been. Of the appointments I did need cancel for medical reasons (13 over the course of a year), my shortest notice was 9 days and longest was 108, averaging about 7 weeks. That's real time to fill those slots, not someone trying to hurt the business. Their cancellation policy states no less than 24 hours notice is required. I did well over that each time. I typically would book months in advance because securing the people I want and the dates/times I want is not easy if I wait too close to the dates/times I need. This causes me to have to adjust the appointments at times due to medical issues I was having at that time. I explained this to the owner, but she still was very aggressive and heartless.

It wasn't just the bad nail job, neither of us getting what we paid for, (it's not like nails don't grow back) or not being offered water when the person right next to us was who already had water... it was the overall bad customer service.. My mom and I went in today for 2 powder manicures and 2 deluxe pedicures totaling $235. Not that the price would be a problem usually we like to pay for good service and believe you get what you pay for but when you pay the higher price, you do expect certain results. Because this is the 4th time that we have had a negative experience in the last few months I am left to believe that this is how it will be from now on. My mom and I were given 2 very bad nails jobs (I Have attached photos). And we're not given everything that we had paid for originally. The pedicure Deluxe had come with dead skin peeling with the rap and also a massage. Usually the massages I get last anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes if it's a good massage where is my massage last to head less than 5 minutes and My mom and I reverse burn by the stones. Neither of our pedicures came with the dead skin peeling like their brochure had said we paid for and when I told one of the employees who appeared to be the manager and the 1 speaking for the other employees he said that they don't do it like all the other places and that they don't take off all the dead skin because then the feet would be sensitive to walk on and leave just enough on which sounded like an excuse to do less considering the fact that I still had calluses that needed to be shaven off and feeling my feet now I can feel where they should have done more. They also got nail polish on my skin and not just little dots the size of a needlepoint the dots were the size of the end of the nail polish brush. And multiple dots. Not to mention I was not given the complete pedicure experience with my cuticles being cut ( I still had dead skin all around my cuticles ). Same thing went for my manicure. Also, a chunky dried layer of clear polish is stuck underneath my finger tips and is glued to my skin which hurts. But not just under my fingernails also on top of my fingers as well that you will see in the photos where my skin is glossy. My mom was given the same pedicure experience as me and on top of that her manicure was not even what she asked for. She wanted powder and the woman working on her nails gave her half powder half gel which is not what she asked for. By the time my mom realized it was already too late she was almost done. I so wish that today had went differently. We have always been very good customers and very loyal customers. This will be the last time that we go to McKaylie's nails. Such a shame.. this place was so great.
