Five Stars! Kettle On Coast has a uniquely flavorful menu. The flavors are insanely good, aromatic and complex. It's North African/Mediterranean. Don't compare it to the old restaurant that used to be there, it's its own thing. They do still have some of the "old favorites" (recipes from Petite M) in the front-facing pastry shelf like the famous "all day bun" I came with a friend recently and had a great experience. We ordered the French toast and the Shakshuka Verde, a decaf pour over and green tea. The shakshuka was absolutely delicious with a little heat on the finish but not too spicy. In fact, I think spice would overpower the flavor profile. 2 large pieces of thick bread come with the shakshuka and you essentially use the bread like a utensil. Eggs are poached to perfection. On the sweeter side, the French toast is thick cut and dusted with sugar, and comes with whipped butter and an amazing crème fraiche. Just outstanding! The pour over was okay, it's not my normal choice, so I think next time I will get an Americano or a latte. The pricing is higher than other local places, but you are paying for the elevated menu, so I think it is worth it. After brunch, it's just a short walk to the pier! Also good to know: they have some dog-friendly menu items! Love this.

Kettle on Coast opened about two weeks ago, and we decided to stop by on a whim. The previous spot, Petite Madeleine, focused on breakfast and offered some kid-friendly options. Kettle on Coast has shifted toward a brunch menu and even includes a dog menu, which I think is a fun and thoughtful addition. That said, there's still an opportunity to expand the kid-friendly offerings. They currently have pancakes and French toast, but adding a simple kids plate-- something like eggs, hash browns, and a side, would be a great fit especially given how many families are in the area, both local and visiting. They're still serving the same pastries from Petite Madeleine, which is a nice touch for returning customers. The interior has been refreshed with updated seating (the booths remain), new pendant lighting, and a more open layout that makes the space feel inviting. The coffee bar is now set up as a pickup area where they call your name when drinks are ready. Hours are currently around 7:00 a.m. to 2:00/2:30 p.m. Service-wise, I'm not sure if we visited on a short-staffed day, but everyone we interacted with was calm, friendly, and knowledgeable--especially when answering questions about the menu. One thing I noticed was that the person who took our order also brought out our food. Timing was a bit slow: it took about 20 minutes to receive my jasmine rice and closer to 40 minutes for the Turkish eggs. As for the food, the naan was more like a fluffy pancake with a slightly crisp exterior rather than traditional naan, so the description felt a bit off. The jasmine rice was delicious, but I needed a bigger bowl since some of my food started falling out of the bowl once I mixed it up. Overall, we're looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu, but will give it a couple weeks.

Maybe I need to clarify on the restroom? The walls, door jam and door sticky. The floor was 'mopped' yet it must not be done with a clean mop and a grease busting cleaner. You may also want to look at how the lower foot of the walls are dirty. These may be the 'extras' that are not on the restroom chore list you may want to add. I also noticed that you did not acknowledge that your cashier went straight from the till to making coffee.

21 bucks for egg and grits, extra egg. Slow service, mediocre meal. The place that was here before was better tbh.

We recently visited Kettle on Coast, and it did not disappoint! I was especially excited about the menu--usually, to find something this unique and high quality, you have to drive all the way into San Diego. Having this in our own backyard is amazing! My daughter was so excited for breakfast but couldn't decide between the pancakes or French toast... so we got both (of course!), along with the Turkish eggs. Everything was incredible--we cleaned our plates! The chef has created a beautiful, thoughtful menu. And for those who loved Petite Madeleine, no need to worry--they kept the same bakers, so all the desserts and pastries we know and love are still just as delicious. The baristas are top-notch and truly know how to craft quality coffee. The service was just as impressive--my 9-year-old daughter felt so special. They took the time to answer her questions and offer recommendations, which meant a lot. When we finished, I asked her if she enjoyed it, and she said, "When can we come back for lunch?" That pretty much says it all! You can tell the owner is building something really special--very family-oriented and community-focused. After hearing about how involved his other locations are, I'm excited to see what he brings to Oceanside. We will definitely be back!

So I was invited to check out a new concept coffee shop by Chef David and I have to say. The food is PHENOMENAL! ill be telling all my San Diego/ Oceanside Fam n Friends to visit this cute coffee stop with some incredible bites. I wish I took more photos before I DEVOURED my dishes. Its so exciting to see dining excellence that goes against the grain of traditional (basic) egg sandwiches and just overall boring breakfast. I was excited to see what arrived to my table and eager to try unique culture mash up dishes. Mediterranean with an Afro twist. Im here for it 1,000%. Im a kettle on coast fan for sure now and ill be trying every item on the menu!!!! Also my Goldie latte was fantastic I love Lavender drinks and this had the perfect touch!

I have come with the tea on Kettle On that replaced Petite Madeleine. The good: they kept many of the awesome staff, and the fresh baked pastries are as delicious as ever. We still have a great bakery in downtown Oside! I got the French toast and it was tasty! I'm not sure I felt the African theme they were going for, but my stomach was happy. Not so good: prices seem to be up across the board. My toast was $21 for one piece of bread, lookin a little sad and lonely on a mostly empty plate, so they are definitely going for a more upscale vibe. Money up, portion size down. My broke self may have to just stick to pastries.

    Jasmine Rice Bowl

Stopped by for breakfast and coffee and Kettle On Coast did not disappoint. My husband and I ordered two dishes to share, the French Toast and Jasmine Rice bowl. Both were incredible. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We'll definitely be returning! We also tried an iced oat milk latte and it was delicious as well. The staff was very warm and welcoming and the overall vibe of the place is great!

Coffee shop breakfast reimagined Holy shnikes Batman! This a culinary adventure that leaves you with your eyes rolling back in your head, body shaking, and desiring just one more nibble. The innovative menu is a trip to multiple continents. I have never had a coffee shop provide Michelin quality food at affordable prices. Sorry Givino, your chef surpassed your coffee, which is delectable as always. The dog friendly environment and menu bring a world of joy and smiles to all. The decor is a nod to African design and your grandma's kitchen. Memories, comfort, caffeine, and full bellies guarantee a return visit. I am proud to see The Kettle On continue to grow and enrich the communities around each location. That Bib is on its way.

Went in for Sunday brunch and my friends and I were in Shock !! Such unique and delicious flavors, alll of our dishes were enjoy completely. We tried the potatoes, French toast, eggplant, grits, shashuka , chicken and agnolotti. WILL MAKE THE DRIVE BACK FROM THE OC !

My fiancée & I had seen Parlor Doughnuts numerous times after the Oceanside Sunset Market. & every single 1 of those times, we were already too full from grazing at all the food stands by then to give it a try. So on a Saturday afternoon, when we just happened to be nearby, we popped in for some impulse buy doughnuts. With a staggering variety of delicious looking toppings/ flavors, the possibilities looked enticingly intriguing. Staff behind the counter was friendly attentive, & helpful. Although there are some savory options available, which seemed to me like pizza toppings on doughnuts, we stuck with sweet: maple bacon & bourbon caramel. Tried & true flavor combinations, both. But the dough, whoa. For starters, the 2 doughnuts we got didn't have holes. That actually makes a difference in how the doughnut cooks. Secondly, the dough ate more like bread dough than a doughnut. Doughnuts have a hole for a reason. You see, it's physics, son. When you consider how thermodynamics affects an oblate spheroid vs. a toroidal sphere, it becomes evident that a doughnut without a hole will not cook evenly throughout inside. In fact, this was specifically proven on MasterChef Canada Season 8, Episode 8 during a doughnut pressure test. In that episode, Andres forgot to put holes in his doughnuts & they were undercooked in the center. Hey, I did start this review with admitting I'm a nerd who watches too many cooking competition shows. Uniform doneness aside, there was also the breadiness. If I'd been told these doughnuts were some kind of new take on Pan Dulce, maybe I would've liked them more. But given the expectation of a doughnut, what I tried at Parlor Doughnuts just wasn't it. The staff was great, & the toppings were fine. But with the word "dough" literally in the name of the product, to come up short there leaves something to be desired.
