I ordered my husband's 50th birthday cake. It was so cute. Exactly what I wanted and ask for. Service was very nice and the cake was absolutely delicious. The chocolate cake is amazing. Definitely getting another one soon. I love that. You can go in there and try samples and they already have some cakes made that you can just buy and treats. It's wonderful. You must check it out, they will greet you when you come in and ask if there's anything you need it's a quick and easy pick up. If you're just stopping by to grab something sweet we also loved the chocolate dipped cookies the brownies and the lemon bars.

I can't believe I've been a customer now for over 6 years! We consistently buy vegan cakes for our daughters' birthdays here. The cakes are always tasty. We also occasionally order cakes for other family members and pick up vegan treats when available. Alicia and her staff are now in a bigger building in the same complex. The decor is set up really cute inside and she has quite a few non-vegan options. I would call ahead if looking to pick up same day cupcakes. Otherwise, order your cakes with plenty of time in advance to make sure she's not already booked. Thanks for having vegan options!

We couldn't have been happier with our wedding cake from The Crimson Cake! They created a beautiful semi-naked three-tier cake that looked exactly like our inspiration photos. The details were done so thoughtfully and it fit our wedding style perfectly. They also offered three different flavors, which our guests absolutely loved and everything tasted just as amazing as it looked. The pricing was very reasonable and the delivery and setup on the wedding day made everything completely stress-free. If you're looking for someone who listens to your vision and brings it to life while creating a delicious cake, I highly recommend The Crimson Cake!

Awesome bakery here in Oceanside. I purchased the piña colada cake for my daughter's 18 birthday. It was just what my daughter wanted: elegant, light blue with gold accents , and delicious! The frosting, coconut, and pineapple complemented each other beautifully. The ladies were so helpful in the shop--I would have definitely set that cake in my lap if she hadn't said not to, lol! I'm tempted to come back for their other sweet treats that were on display.

This cake and cupcake place (plus more!) is awesome. I have purchased a cake here before--rather last-minute--for my son's birthday, and they were able to make it look special while being affordable and delicious. Now, three years later, taste and service are still on point. I called ahead to see if they had pre-made cupcakes, I was told yes, so I timed my trip there based on when the mini cupcakes would be available. By the time I got there they were almost sold out (this is on a Saturday)! I'm glad I made it, because the cupcake flavors and presentation were excellent and it was so convenient to be able to pick them up the morning(ish) of the party without ordering ahead. My advice would be to get there early on the weekend though! Cupcakes are moist, flavors delicate and complex, and the piped-in whipped cream in the middle is divine.

Have never seen a more beautiful cake than my son's planets cake. He is obsessed with planets so I ordered this cake a week before his party and was able to get it even more stunning than the photo I saw online. My son doesn't like chocolate cake so he picked berries and cream and it was delicious! Our guests commented on how delicious and not to sweet the cake was. Plus I picked up some gluten free cupcakes at the store for some of our guests, which looked so posh like they were from a bakery in la or something, with flavors like red velvet, mocha, and confetti. Cake is not cheap, but worth it. Especially if you live near Oceanside.

We ordered a sample box, to try out some of their great flavors. We loved them! Communication from placing the order and details for picking up were straight to the point and easy. I would definitely recommend Alicia and absolutely think she did a fabulous job with what I wanted and the execution was beautiful! Everyone was impressed that the hat was edible as well with rice crispy treats helping to keep the shape. The top layer was carrot cake and my friend said it was the best she had ever tasted. My son is allergic to tree nuts so it had none and l thought it was awesome that it's pretty common that Alicia does a lot of cakes without nuts. The bottom layer was red velvet. It was superb!

The Crimson Cake provided the tastiest desserts for my wedding! Their bakery offers a wide variety of cake flavors and mini desserts and all were delicious. For my wedding I wanted to set up a dessert table with a variety of mini cupcakes and bite size desserts. I needed to serve enough desserts for 150 people without sacrificing good quality. I reached out to Crimson cakes for a tasting and I was able to get a box of samples before making my decision. In the end I selected 3 mini cupcakes (strawberry pistachio, red velvet, and black and white), fruit tarts, and chocolate mousse baskets. The desserts not only tasted amazing but they looked incredible and were decorated to match my wedding colors. I also got a cutting cake which was black berry lime flavored. My husband and I love this cake and we still can't stop thinking about it. We will have to go back to get this cake for another special occasion. The Crimson Cake did an amazing job providing great tasting desserts on time for the wedding. I would highly recommend this bakery for any events. read more

My recent visit to Crimson Cakes was the best decision I have ever made in regards to a pastry business! The service was friendly, professional and easy to work with. I gave them my theme and examples of what I'd like to include in the design and they were in point! And the high quality ingredients were absolutely amazing! The taste of the cakes and petit desserts were phenomenal and freshly made. My guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious the desserts were. And what I loved was it wasn't excessively sweet but exactly the right combinations. They also have last minute already made cakes and desserts but also decorated a cake for me in one day!!! That's unheard of! For wedding and more elaborate cakes they need several weeks notice but their cakes are worth the wait!!! They truly are works of art that taste unbelievable!!! My favorite, if I have to pick one, is the chocolate cake, chocolate ganache filling with a white buttercream. The icing is so light and airy almost like a whipping cream icing. My guest were fighting over the last piece! Definitely will get a larger cake next time! This woman-owned business is no joke! These artist and master pastry chefs do it all! The owner is my massage client and she knows I am vegan and I tell her about how hard it is to find tasty desserts. I had a heck of a bad weekend and was beyond surprised to be gifted handcrafted artistic vegan cupcakes because she loves my massages. Needless to say I was blown away and beyond touched at her kindness and generosity She gifted me a box of 6, 3 different flavors: confetti, vanilla churro and lemon... So far I have only tried the lemon. I love all things lemon! This was beyond exceptional and indescribable and delicious. I don't have enough adjectives to describe how delicious this cupcake was and it was light and fluffy (my experience with prior vegan cupcakes is not great)! The candied lemon on top was so yummy ! I highly recommend The Crimson Cake (TCC). They helped me decide on and then created a stunning tall chocolate birthday cake with a rich chocolate ganache filling that was absolutely perfect. Not only was it delicious, but it was also beautifully decorated. The cake looked gorgeous on the outside, and when sliced open, the clean layers and smooth ganache filling made it just as beautiful on the inside. As an aside, TCC's vanilla/strawberry cupcake knocked my socks off. Look no further for cake masterpeices. read more

UPDATE TO ADD: i respect the owners response below a lot. Honesty and transparency like hers is rare. As a small business owner I respect this response and situation :) I like this bakery a lot. Their cakes are not cheap but they are crafted beautifully. And delicious. The owner (I think she's the owner) isn't really a "people person". I've been in here and few times and she's standoffish and not super friendly. I don't really care - but if you really value great customer service this ain't it. Go for the cake! read more

Alicia is not just a baker. She's an artist. I wanted to order a speciality funfetti cake for my girlfriend who is obsessed with pickleball. I reached out about a month before I needed the cake, and she was quick to reply. I simply told her what I was thinking in terms of vision, and I even sent some pictures I found on Google Images as some inspiration. When I picked up the cake from the shop, she needed to pull out a few other cakes to get to mine. It was like the greatest hits of cakes. My co-workers found this place to get me a birthday cake. What a find! They have so many things going for them- 1) Moist delicious cake. The crumb is perfect and the flavors are fabulous. 2) REAL BUTTERCREAM!!! This is not the frosting from a supermarket cake. It is some of the best buttercream I've had in years. 3) Good artistry. Very professional looking product and quite creative. 4) Good combinations of cake, filling and frosting flavors. Nothing doesn't fit. I can't recommend this place enough. I walked in and bought a box of mini cupcakes to try them out as they came high recommended. They were delicious! A bit pricey ($24 for twelve minis) but tasted great! The pina colada was amazing and triple Chocolate too - I tried 3 in my order. I tried the birthday cakes at a friends party who ordered 6 round cakes - all were delish! The Crimson Cake has been baking up delicious, cakes and desserts since 2010. Our business began operations within a few, shared kitchen spaces and then moved to our own cake decorating studio , within Oceanside Commercial Kitchen. As of August , 2023 we will be moving into our own bakery space and hope to see all of our returning customers and new faces in September.

Meet the Business Owner: Alicia P.

Alicia graduated Scottsdale Culinary Institute in 1999 and spent the next decade honing her baking and cake decorating skills in Boston and North County San Diego. After several years in hotel pastry shops and running a small cake business part time, in 2010 Alicia started on her full time cake venture called "The Crimson Cake". We thought we'd try Little Cakes Kitchen, so we ordered the half-dozen box of assorted cupcakes. They were delivered through DoorDash. We knew we were not able to pick our flavors by ordering this way, but figured Little Cakes would send a representative sample, which I assume they did. I'm not sure which flavors were in our box because they weren't labeled. I wanted to know what we were eating, but I had to dig through many past reviews to identify most of them. The 6 flavors received in the 1/2-dozen box were: * Vanilla * Chocolate * Almond Champagne * German Chocolate * Something Marshmallow-Topped * Something Chocolate--Topped with Thin Vanilla Icing and Vanilla Buttercream All the cupcakes were of average size and were decorated nicely enough. Albeit the cake part on all the cakes were a bit dry. It was difficult to discern a specific flavor on a few, so I've come to the conclusion that garnishing must be their gift. Most of the 'vanilla' flavors, were indistinguishable in flavor from one another, except for the Almond Champagne, which had a cloying almond paste filling, and too much filling to cake ratio. Of particular concern was that the frosting on all seemed to be off in ratios of butter to shortening. I suspect there was an over abundance of shortening in all the cupcakes, which to me, is not palatable, nor is it delicious or anything resembling what a good cupcake should be. They miss the mark in my opinion. Due to the high prices and the fact that the frosting on all the cupcakes was cloying and poorly prepared with what I suspect was too much shortening, and not enough icing sugar, I would likely not buy cupcakes from Little Cakes Kitchen again.

He truly wanted it to taste amazing! So when we found Connor and his list of craft flavors, our interest was immediately piqued. We met up with Connor at a coffee shop to sample his cakes, and as soon as we did there was no question we wanted to work with him! Every flavor we tried was delicious, but we ended up going with coconut mango passion fruit, Amaretto blackberry, and Earl gray cardamom. Connor actually updated some of his flavors prior to our wedding and very kindly sent us a sample box of the flavors that had changed alongside the original flavor, so we could compare and contrast. We ended up switching the earl grey cardamom to his newly developed may grey! It's so cool how he's constantly continuing to evolve and hone his flavors. Connor is incredibly kind and easy to work with, as well as very responsive. We went back and forth on the exact details of our cake design several times, and he provided us with numerous sketches for our approval. Connor is also very aware of and openly discusses the potential issues with cakes ie melting/ transport issues so that you can make an informed decision. He offered to make our cake with a white chocolate ganache coating as opposed to vanilla buttercream as that would be more stable and less likely to melt, and also provided a sample of this with his new cake flavors. We chose to go with the buttercream, but really appreciated him discussing this with us and presenting us with the option. We had zero issues with the integrity of the cake, it looked amazing when it arrived and continued to look amazing the entire night. We highly recommend working with Connor! His cakes are visual masterpieces, and multiple people told us our cake was the best wedding cake they'd ever tasted

Alicia has absolutely mastered the SWEET side of special celebrations. Her masterfully crafted cakes, deliciously unique cupcakes and other various sweet treats are always a hit with event attendees. This is not your run of the mill bakery... so much heart goes into each of her orders and the pricing is excellent! Everything we've ever gotten from Crimson Cake is more than we could have ever dreamed up or hoped for. Stunningly lovely I was seeking for a bakery for my sister's birthday at the last minute and was delighted to find this small, charming establishment. The proprietor was a lovely young lady who assisted me in selecting the perfect dessert for my sister. She took a freshly cooked cake and decorated it in front of my eyes in less than 5 minutes.
