Sausage Omelet Bagel with Fruit Bowl...
    Armando D.

Our breakfast meals were excellent! I truly enjoyed the fruit bowl and noticed how fresh, clean and abundant the portions given. The service from Maria was great she captured my request precisely and relayed it to the kitchen staff. The kitchen staff were all new employees and made our food extremely tasty. Thank you Keke's! We will be back!

The service was quick. We were seated within the 15 min time frame. While we waited we sat at the tables outside in the shade next to the waterfall. The food was hot. The pancakes were HUGE. I couldn't finish them. They were delicious. The hamburger was double meat. It was delicious and juicy. The only complaint was the table wasn't cleaned. It had hair on it.

We came around 2PM and they close at 2:30PM. Our server Harrison was super friendly, apologetic and kept us updated on the food. Everything was good. The fries were crunchy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. I enjoyed my fluffy french toast. Basic but so good when you have that craving. There are booths and comfy, private.

    Pancakes

I ordered pancakes and this is what I got. Bricks. They take like baking soda. Cutting through them were everything but fluffy just thick and rough. I'll never order from Keke's again. A true waste of ingredients.

I am a big enjoyer of breakfast food, so when I saw there was a Keke's in the area I got very excited. I came in with a nice book and sat for a good while, enjoying the morning. I was greeted with a smile and sat promptly, my server was very nice and attentive, no ticks at all against the service. The ambiance had some good elements like the welcoming comfortable feeling of the restaurant with its wall art and pleasing colors, but other things like the overhead table light being way too bright and exposed made it to where I couldn't look up without being blinded. The food was alright but left more to be desired. the best part of the meal was the chicken, it was crispy, well seasoned, and juicy; however the waffle it came with was bordering on uncooked for some bites. I did have to season the grits but I do that everywhere, and the sausage was typical restaurant sausage, a little thin if anything. All around my experience was alright but I feel there's room for improvement in the food.

Good service and the food was "Good" no real WOW factor, with the average price points. The Eggs Benedict needed a touch more Hollandaise sauce and bland. Fried scallop potatoes were well prepared. Coffee was a bit weak. The overall ambience was a bit cold almost like being in a waiting room at your doctor's office. I would try again.

Okay, this is one of those random times I am leaving a low star rating, after placing our order it seemed like an unusually long time went by before we received our food, our server passed our table at least 6 times during that time frame and not once offered refills, once our food finally arrived he had taken it up to order 2 Kira meal for our table instead of 1 like we had ordered for our son. My husbands omelet was no longer hot and my French toast were not even warm, when the food came out he noticed our empty glasses and asked if we wanted refills, when the refills arrived it was in foam cups not he glass cups we had, we then noticed it seemed all the other tables were also receiving the same slow service and it seemed they had some sort of trouble in the kitchen, lots of Servers and 3 hostess but terribly slow service. Usually I see servers pick up empty plates from any table to help each other as they are heading back to the kitchen, not the case here, we still had to pay for the extra kids meal as the serve didn't take it off even though it was his mistake and we didn't want to ask. We just left after eating and decided never to go back.

Keke's special with grits and home fries

My wife and I went to Keke's at 450 Durbin Pavilion in St Johns for the first time on Sunday May 5th, 2025. Got there shortly after noon. The store was clean and bright. We were greeted immediately. Our waiter, Porter, was friendly and efficient. On the plus side, the pancakes were pretty good. Slightly dense but I'd order them again. Ham slice was good and plentiful. Coffee was good. The cups were made with very thick walls so there wasn't much in the cups. They would have been fine if there was a pot of coffee on the table. Unfortunately... The scrambled eggs were just slightly beaten. Streaks of white in the yellow. It looks like they were poured on a grill until they were cooked, folded and plated. Just flat and dense. I'd say they were mischaracterized both as scrambled and fluffy. Flat, dry and overcooked. The pile of lumps on the potato plate were supposed to be cheese grits. Lumpy and dry. More like yesterday's mashed potatoes. Worst I've Ever had. Not cheesy nor creamy. The home fries were made of skin-on red potatoes. They probably would have been good if the potatoes had been fully cooked. They broke when you stabbed the slices. OJ was surprisingly watery.

We have been trying to get into the Keke vibe. However, everytime we go to the Town center location, there is always a long wait. Thankfully, there is a KeKe restaurant in St Johns County. The host was pleasant but called me Bob when she just took my reservation for a table. Unfortunately, you can not make reservations on line. We received our drinks iceless. Normally when do not want ice in a drink, you ask for no ice. There was no ice to be had at Keke according to our server. Now for the entrees. The server exclaimed the plates were hot but he silver dollar pancakes were not. All in all this is an experience we want to forget. It is hard to make a mockery out of breakfast/lunch but Keke has. This is a one and done type review.

We made an early reservation since we saw they do Happy Hour 4PM to 5:00PM everyday so we had to get in on that. We walked and and were seated at our table. They made sure to let us know you can sit anywhere during Happy Hour and still get the specials where many restaurants limit it to a bar area. Rustica does a great job of Happy Hour. They have appetizers, cocktails, beer, Sake, wine, and even main course happy hour entrees too. I started off with a cocktail going for the Liliko Martini which I really enjoyed. I have really been into my Passion Fruit drinks lately. We of course had to get some of the Happy Hour appetizers too and we might have gone a little overboard but for sure worth it. We got: The Naan Bread Yellow Beet Salad Crispy Tofu Roasted Pork Belly Bao Crispy Pork and Shrimp Lumpia Japanese Style Fried Chicken These were a great way to start off dinner and not one of them were $8 or less. If I had to pick favorites the best was for sure the Roasted Pork Belly Bao. I think it might have been the best Pork Belly Bao I had ever had. I was a large thick piece of Pork Belly but it just melted you your mouth and had so much flavor. We also very much enjoyed the Crispy Pork and Shrimp Lumpia which were much bigger then expected. The Japanese Style Fried Chicken was great too and the BBQ Ranch took it to the next level. For my entree I went with the Basil Crusted Roasted Monkfish which came with Vietnamese Yellow Curry, Crispy Shrimp and veggies. The Monkfish was cooked perfectly. I had a great sear on it too which gave it a bit of a crunch. I know Monkfish can sometimes be intimidated people because it was pretty ugly looking but let me tell you if it's prepared like this you're going to love it. Some of the best fish I have had. The Vietnamese Yellow Curry paired very well with it too. Wasn't too heavy and didn't over power the fish but just added an extra boost of flavor. I know what you're thinking who could was possibly be hungry for dessert but it sounded good so we ordered the Thai Milk Tea Creme Brulee and the Yuzu Cheesecake. Both were light enough that we could still really enjoy them after all we had eaten. We really like that the Thai Milk Tea Creme Brulee also had bubble boba in it which we didn't expect. We had an amazing meal and for sure be coming back sooner rather then later.

The other part of the group also drank their life away, and because of this you always need to go to a diner the next day. It was a pleasant afternoon.. the birds were chirping, the sky was partly cloudy, and the wind felt cool. The group stumbled on Metro Diner which looked very appealing! We were told by a couple nice people that it was only a 15 minute wait which was perfectly fine so we went to Publix and bought a couple things. When we came back we were seated outside with a friendly waiter who got us going right away. The ogre kept saying how she wanted fried chicken and waffles, but then got nervous because it was 2000 calories.. like what? "You're on vacation just get the chicken and waffles." She was already overweight anyways so why not add more fuel to the fire. Anyways onto what we got! Me: egg scramble bowl with avocado and bacon. And oatmeal with fruit My good Buddy Bezos: burger bowl Doctor Bs wife: avocado egg sandwich thing Tragic: your classic eggs, toast, sausage, homefried The heaviest girl ever: Belgian waffle and some fruit? I tried to be polite and wait, but after 5 minutes without their food showing up I had to eat I was starving. It's kind of crazy to me that me ogre and my good buddy bezos were first. I would think that the classic plate of tragics would be easy, as well as the sandwich because it's just the same stuff in my bowl just between bread somewhat. I enjoyed the ambiance and the feel of the place for sure. The music that was playing was also enjoyable, so initially I was at a three but because of those factors along with the fact that I did somewhat like my food more than the others (which is rare) and don't feel terrible after that's why we stand at a four. I would like to clarify every place has its own rating system. Like you cannot compare a fancy restaurant to a diner although they are still deemed a 4 on my page. Sorry anyways, the prices were also really reasonable and we had a good time. Maybe next year when we are back around here we will come back! It was good!

Mario and his staff are all genuine human beings! That is a trait that is so hard to find among those in the service industry. Most are out to make a quick buck and call it a day, then Rinse & repeat the next day. I don't get that vibe from ANYONE at Cafe Genovese. No food pics, sorry forgot and I ate it all:))
