It's basically a book a menu items which are all pretty big, freshly made, and come out in a punctual amount of time. I've tried this business twice in a month to give the benefit of doubt. My 1st trip was on a busy Saturday morning. My 2nd trip was on an early, quiet Sunday morning. The location is great, the food quality, not so much. On both occasions, I ordered the same items. I asked for crispy potatoes, they came out both times looking like they were barely warmed up on the griddle. The toast was warm bread with hardly and char. In both occasions, when I complained to the server, they left the plate with the existing food on and took away the items that needed to be actually cooked. Consequently when the reheated/slightly more cooked food came out, it was in a separate plate for me to add to my now lukewarm/cold food. On both occasions, the kitchen was slow to put orders out. Very disappointed. I decided to try this restaurant after passing it a few times. First off, the host was VERY cold - not friendly all. The restaurant was not full at all but he chose to seat me right next to the kitchen door. I didn't like it but chose to roll with it. The waitress was "ok" - didn't smile, just very matter of fact and to the point. The kicker though was the food. The presentation was great but the food was COLD. Not warm but COLD - almost as if it were something that had been frozen, warmed up and then left to sit. I had to wait 10 minutes before the waitress returned. This place is underwhelming to say the least. I didn't bother with pictures because it looked just really like breakfast at home. Nothing exciting. I had French toast with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs. The bacon was actually good. Right amount of crispy for me. The eggs and French toast were just ok. My friend had some kind of home fries and over easy eggs. I expected diced potatoes for home fries but they were sliced like potato chips. The potatoes were pretty boring. But the eggs came out way overdone. This is the reason I am giving 3 instead of 2 stars - the waitress was very helpful in making sure what was wrong and getting the right eggs back out and FAST! Basically all 3 stars were for the waitress with like half a star for the good bacon. I will likely not return unless I see some spectacular reviews about them changing. I am a big enjoyer of breakfast food, so when I saw there was a Keke's in the area I got very excited. I came in with a nice book and sat for a good while, enjoying the morning. I was greeted with a smile and sat promptly, my server was very nice and attentive, no ticks at all against the service. The ambiance had some good elements like the welcoming comfortable feeling of the restaurant with its wall art and pleasing colors, but other things like the overhead table light being way too bright and exposed made it to where I couldn't look up without being blinded. The food was alright but left more to be desired. the best part of the meal was the chicken, it was crispy, well seasoned, and juicy; however the waffle it came with was bordering on uncooked for some bites. I did have to season the grits but I do that everywhere, and the sausage was typical restaurant sausage, a little thin if anything. Okay, this is one of those random times I am leaving a low star rating, after placing our order it seemed like an unusually long time went by before we received our food, our server passed our table at least 6 times during that time frame and not once offered refills, once our food finally arrived he had taken it up to order 2 Kira meal for our table instead of 1 like we had ordered for our son. My husbands omelet was no longer hot and my French toast were not even warm, when the food came out he noticed our empty glasses and asked if we wanted refills, when the refills arrived it was in foam cups not he glass cups we had, we then noticed it seemed all the other tables were also receiving the same slow service and it seemed they had some sort of trouble in the kitchen, lots of Servers and 3 hostess but terribly slow service. Usually I see servers pick up empty plates from any table to help each other as they are heading back to the kitchen, not the case here, we still had to pay for the extra kids meal as the serve didn't take it off even though it was his mistake and we didn't want to ask. My wife and I went to Keke's at 450 Durbin Pavilion in St Johns for the first time on Sunday May 5th, 2025. Got there shortly after noon. The store was clean and bright. We were greeted immediately. Our waiter, Porter, was friendly and efficient. On the plus side, the pancakes were pretty good. Slightly dense but I'd order them again. Ham slice was good and plentiful. Coffee was good. The cups were made with very thick walls so there wasn't much in the cups. They would have been fine if there was a pot of coffee on the table. Unfortunately... The scrambled eggs were just slightly beaten. Streaks of white in the yellow. It looks like they were poured on a grill until they were cooked, folded and plated. Just flat and dense. I'd say they were mischaracterized both as scrambled and fluffy. Flat, dry and overcooked. The pile of lumps on the potato plate were supposed to be cheese grits. Lumpy and dry. More like yesterday's mashed potatoes. Worst I've Ever had. Not cheesy nor creamy. The home fries were made of skin-on red potatoes. We have been trying to get into the Keke vibe. However, everytime we go to the Town center location, there is always a long wait. Thankfully, there is a KeKe restaurant in St Johns County. The host was pleasant but called me Bob when she just took my reservation for a table. Unfortunately, you can not make reservations on line. We received our drinks iceless. Normally when do not want ice in a drink, you ask for no ice. There was no ice to be had at Keke according to our server. Now for the entrees. Now with places like Keke's Breakfast Cafe and First Watch, you have better options if you are seeking to eat out for the first meal of the day (and what I was told since grade school was the most important meal of the day). Keke's Breakfast Cafe is a hometown creation, having started here in Orlando, Florida back in 2006 by brothers Keith and Kevin Mahen. Back then it had the more straightforward name of the Florida Waffle Shop. This location was on Conroy Road and when the brothers started eying the horizon of expansion, they went with the name Keke's (which was a combination of both of their names) both because the name was perceived as more catchy and also because they could not obtain a trademark for the business name Florida Waffle Shop. From that humble beginning of one location, Keke's has grown to over forty locations here in Florida. The reason they have not expanded beyond the Sunshine State yet is that they have not saturated the market yet. The menu at Keke's Breakfast Cafe is filled with the usual breakfast favorites like waffles, omelets,eggs benedict and more. They also have a lunch menu, but I have only tried their breakfast offerings. All in all, my breakfast here was an overall winner. The food was very good, the ambiance was a great alternative to the standard greasy spoon breakfast joint with cheap chairs and chipped tables and my server was friendly, attentive and professional. We've been to Keke's in Orlando and loved everything about the experience. Saw this one yesterday and drove back from Orange Park just for their amazing breakfast. We started with a wait which was fine. We were seated at 10:11 at a small table for two. Gave our order at 10:15. Left at 10:55 without eating. People next to us had been waiting over an hour for their food. Waitstaff did not update us. Others came in, ate, and were leaving while we and the other table waited. Attempts to get information from staff was "it must be the kitchen". This does not explain other tables being served by a clearly dysfunctional system. We will not return. read more

The waffle combo you do not get an option to have blueberry waffles only add toppings which of course is extra. The blueberry waffle is La Carte so it only makes sense to order the combo if you are looking for additional food. The western omelette with tasty however the potatoes were a bit undercooked so I didn't finish them. For both breakfasts we spent $27 and some change, a bit pricer but alot of food. read more
