Been here multiple times. It's very fun and the food is good. But the service is awful. We were screwed over in our reservation 3x in one night and were promised free drinks, percentages off our dinner total, etc. This didn't happen and we watched this happen to two other parties. Awful. read more

To start off, I made this reservation for a large party for my daughters 8th birthday. Friends and family all came to be there for her. We had 14 people with kids included. The manager when booking , (a female) was so nice and polite. But after arriving and being seated, we saw a whole different person. We sat there for about 15 minutes before getting any drinks. A large group walked in shortly after us and had water the min they sat down. The manager was very irritated and snappy being that my daughter (the birthday girl) wanted to sit right in the front of the grill so sat by her, but my younger daughter is a little scared of that big fire so she sat on the side with my husband. The manager then got really snappy and showed it towards our party because "familes werent sitting next to eachother". This lady made our dinner MISERABLE. She kept looking out at us with the dirtiest looks. We felt UNWELCOME the entire night. Many complaints were made but nothing done. SOOO this now leaves me to leave this aweful review. This place is a long time favorite of mine, both for curbside pickup and dine in. The staff are very nice. I love their Hibachi filet mignon as well as their various sushi dishes. Sometimes I have them put some bulgogi sauce on my filet for a bit of variety. I have always had good experiences whether doing pickup or dine in. read more

Staff is rude as can be. Maybe if you had more manners you would get 5 stars but if you make a reservation they make you wait even longer. Staff give you rude looks if you say anything. Had a terrible experience at Kaze. Booked the karaoke room for a friend's birthday, but we show up to find out they had double-booked the room. The manager (believe his name is Kevin) would not admit to the restaurant's mistake. Forty minutes later, they sit us in the main area instead, but say we're going to get 10% off our meals and that we'll get to move into the second karaoke room after we eat. Then, during our meal, we see them sit a different group in the second karaoke room. Double-booked again! When we complained about this to the manager, he would not admit to this mistake again and shared that we would actually not be getting any sort of discount after all. Then, as a cherry on top, the manager comes in with two cops, because apparently the first group trashed the first karaoke room. Realizing that group had already left, he brought the cops into the main area where we were sitting and told them we were responsible for the mess in the first karaoke room (the room we were never allowed in and the manager knew this) -- I guess, just trying to find someone to blame. The cops made us sit there until they were able to watch the tape and saw that it was not us. Ridiculous sequence of events. The waiters were all very nice and trying to make up for their manager's actions, but Kevin's terrible customer service and unreasonableness made for a very bad birthday party at Kaze. read more

The first time we called to make a reservation they seemed very dismissive and when we called to confirm they said that they did not have a reservation for us. We had to call servers to our table just to get waters refilled. The pricing was completely inconsistent and every menu had a different price on it. The waiter yelled at us for wanting to split a meal and then stormed off for 10 minutes before taking the rest of our orders. She yelled at my friend for not ordering anything because she couldn't afford it. Food is way below average and so not worth it. They charged an extra $12 to SPLIT A MEAL. I placed a to go order today and when I got there to pick it up, they had given my food to someone else. Instead of an apology they argued with me. I showed them that I had the correct card number and name that matched with the order. They then made up a lie and said that I called the wrong location. I showed them the number that I dialed which was also the number printed on their napkin and menu. Which was the correct number. After 15 minutes of going back and fourth they remade the meal. I came on Saturday for lunch, but the lunch special is only m-f, so heads up on that. The staff was attentive & kind. We were seated away from others which is great during covid. The chef was hilarious. I've been to several hibachi spots so it's easy to be accustomed to the tricks but I had a good time. The food was a 4/5. Flavorful but I could have used more rice... I ordered spicy chicken & shrimp hibachi & paid $2.50 extra for fried rice (worth it). The soda in most hibachi places are flat/weird, but other than that, no complaints. read more

We waited an hour to be seated even with a reservation and then the waitress was extremely rude to our friend who couldn't afford the meal but came to sit with us because it was my birthday...she berated her because she didn't eat and asked her to leave even though she wasn't even taking up a space at the table. She then yelled at us because she didn't explain the fine print of spilting a meal until after we got our checks. The manager then yelled at us to leave the restaurant after we paid the full (overpriced) checks. My birthday was ruined and I wouldn't recommend ever coming here. read more

We had an enjoyable evening here on a Friday night. It was around 8 pm and there were several tables open. All hibachi places are pretty much the same to me, but we did have very good service here. That could partially be because it wasn't very busy but still. We all had drinks that were never empty and our food other than the hibachi arrived quickly. I had some sushi and started with edamame as usual. Our chef was very friendly as well. When you're craving hibachi, I don't think it matters much when you end up, but I'm glad it was here! read more

HORRIBLE. Definitely will NOT be returning. I frequent hibachi places a lot and this was BY FAR the most rude, least friendly staff I've encountered. We came in with a large birthday group, 21people and were seated in the karaoke room that was reserved. Right off the bat the lady tells us no sharing plates... assuming that was our plan? Pretty judgy if you ask me. First guest orders and she just orders an appetizer since she had surgery on her stomach and cannot eat much. The waitress rudely scolds her that she HAS to order hibachi dinner. After arguing, the waitress backed down. The waitress repeatedly asked who's eating what to ensure evwryone had their own order. All in all, the vibe was very racist, once the food was delivered we weren't checked on and saw the waitresses again when they brought the checks. Lucky for them gratuity was added, otherwise they would've got close to nothing. One of the worst, if not the worst, service I've ever experienced. WORST SERVICE EVER. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. We came in a party of 22 and they convinced us at the start to NOT order certain meals like yakisoba because it was too complicated for them. They requested everyone to just order from the hibachi menu, to simplify things, and said they would waive the $8.95 per person splitting fee that comes with splitting a plate. We ordered 13 hibachi dinners to split among the 22 of us because that should have been plenty of food. FIRST OF ALL, it makes no sense to charge such a hefty fee per person for sharing food! It's not like they brought any extra food for us to eat. No other restaurant would ever thing it's acceptable to charge such a ridiculous fee to split a meal! In the end they charged us the $8.99 fee anyway, first they wanted to charge us for all 13 meals, then they cut it down to 8. But we still paid almost $72 for no good reason, when the reason some of us didn't order cheaper dinners were at THEIR request. They also DISTURBED our meal multiple times to come and debate the logistics of the payment. The management team completely ruined our experience and just annoyed us during the whole meal. There are so many other deserving restaurants to enjoy, DON'T waste your money by giving these people business. They don't care about customer service at all. read more

They stuck us in the back room with no insulation in 25 degree weather in literally a room full of children when I saw multiple tables with PLENTY of space open for our group of 4 adults. It was loud and they left these groups of children and families for 20 minutes with no water, no service, anything. When I went in to check, the manager just brushed me off asking I stop complaining in public when the only thing I did was asked to check on the status of service. So far we've been seated for 50 minutes and we have not yet seen the hibachi chef and are just now having our orders taken. Meanwhile, we are freezing and have no beverages. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My family and I went there for dinner and the experience was HORRIBLE. I believe this place doesn't accommodate food allergies or ethnic guests. My family and I sat a booth because hibachi was 45 minute wait. We ordered hibachi and the main course came cold and the rice came 15 minutes later. We initially ordered appetizers too which never came but was charged for. We also told the waiter SEVERAL times that one of us had an allergy to eggs and not to bring the rice with fried eggs. Once they finally brought the rice with out looking my sister took a small bite and I had to stop her immediately when I saw the egg. I asked to speak with a manager who came 30 minutes later and her response was "we are busy today, I will take the rice off the check" Didn't even have the courtesy to apologize! The dinner portion at the booth is not filling at all, et they charge almost 30 Dollars a plate. I wouldn't mind if the food was not cold, and had good service. Excellent food and better prices than Benihana. Also not as crowded. Excellent service and absolutely delicious. This will be our new go-to place for teppenyaki food. Sushi selections looked excellent, will have to try some next time. Food was well-cooked, with shrimp and scallops perfectly done. (Both can get overcooked so easily). Kaze was a great restaurant, we visited on a. Busy night but they were able to cater to our needs and get us a table within a few minutes. The Food; We ordered 2 different sushi rolls, the Crunch Roll and Shrimp Roll. The crunch roll was very big and very tasty, came out together with the other roll and tasted very good, a safe and good roll if you need a safe order. The Shrimp Roll was, in fact, very spicy, which was something I was not expected, it was hard to eat due to the spice that followed the initial bite. We also ordered the combination Kaze Habachi and the Steak and Vegetable Kaze Habachi. The Combination (Steak, Shrimp, and Chicken) came out about 8 minutes before the other which was alarming due to the temperature it got as I waited for my date's food. It tasted great but the beef was extremely buttery, which I didn't care too much for but my date enjoyed very much. I suggest the shrimp or the chicken due to the taste of the beef, it was buttery almost to a sour taste. The Service - At first, the service was very good, the waiter kept check-in in on me as I waited for my date to show up, he made sure my water was refilled and asked once or twice if I was ready to order yet. Right after my date showed up he popped in and after asking for more time, given that this was our first time, he disappeared for about 15 minutes before taking our order. It was at this point that the service took a bad turn, with the food coming out in weird increments and the hibachi coming out at two different times, he began to lose focus on closing us out and served 7 other tables. We waiting so long for our check that every table that he was serving (that arrived after us) were also already ready, and about 25 minutes later and after asking a manager and another worker, we finally got our check, but the worker was gone for around 10 minutes with every tables card. This specific aspect was a little frustrating, to feel as if I was stuck there without my debit card to leave. The Experience - Kaze was decorated and themed very well that made it a fun place to visit and to enjoy. However, the atmosphere was extremely loud, the workers singing happy birthday for a young teen 3 times while banging and ringing a Gong the whole time. It was hard to focus on my date with the establishment allowing this disruption to continue for the entirety that the party was at the table. It seems that they don't have the best structure when it took a manager and completely different server to finish out the tabs after the waiter went MIA halfway through our visit there. I hope that if we come back that the visit would be a bit better and faster! Overall a good average visit with only minor timing issues that they can work on, I admit it could've been the kitchen or staff placed there that night so I won't hold it against the restaurant until I visit again. read more

I will say, as we were paying for our food, someone in my party claims that she had seen a rat run from under her feet to the other side of the room. Everyone in my party looked disgusted. Once she informed the waiter he simply stated that they have a nest underneath the hibachi grill. * picks up checks immediately* Oh yeah that makes it better? At the end of the day. This restaurant upcharged us for splitting an entree...which would have been fine had it been explained in advance and we actually got additional portions to justify the extra charge. My wife and I opted to visit Kaze's for our 45th Anniversary; we called for a reservation at 4 PM. We were informed walk in seating was best for Saturday afternoon on 17 July 2021. We arrived 3;30 PM and were informed it would be 10 minutes before being seated. The hostess led us back to a table prepared for 6 having 2 plates on 3 sides of Hibachi cooking table; we were instructed to sit on side. I requested being in front two seats; was informed could not in case a party of 4 arrived and would be seated to dine with us. Ellen looked at me, I looked at her, she said let's go and we did. Upon departing, we encountered a couple entering and hostess who followed us out inquired if they wanted Hibachi and how many; they responded two for hibachi, hostess led them back to be seated at same table we just refused. I turned and went back to watch them being seated in seating we were informed we could not be seated in due to possibly having 4 to join. We were both born / raised in Texas; we have lived in Dallas since 1980 having held many meals (birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc.) at Kaze's in both Dallas (most often) and Mesquite location. We were refused seating we wanted for our special 45th Wedding Anniversary thus our long term patronage of Kaze's ended; we will never return! Their loss as we had planned to take some family members there for upcoming birthdays. We drove to Benihana's for a great meal in seating we selected. Everyone has choices, think about using / going to Kaze's; we WILL NEVER RETURN! I do not normally post these type poor reports, but our experience was terrible for our 45th wedding anniversary! Kaze is our go to for Sushi and rolls. Close by, great food and nice people all make for a steady spot in our rotation of places to eat. We like just about everything, but mostly get rolls and sashimi, dumpling, edamame and tempura shrimp and veggies. Never had anything that wasn't very good from the start. One of my favorites is the orange, black, and wasabi fish roe. Think of a cylinder of nori with rice in the bottom and caviar inside. It is delicious! The chef often times regales us with a "surprise" concoction of his choice which is always a treat. This was one of the first places we went to eat after things started opening up again. I walked in and got seated immediately at the sushi bar; table for 1! (I thought that was a good sign.. along with the fact that the restaurant smelled amazing). Anyways, I sat there for a solid 35 minutes without having ANYONE come by to get a drink order or anything. Group of us checked this place out because our really old friend was having yet another birthday. I'd say it went pretty well overall but that could be the sake talking. Our grill masters hailed from the faraway orient of "Mexico" but that didn't stop them from banging out some top tier fried rice and assorted proteins. Of course I can't conclude this review without mentioning the karaoke scene witch was on point af. There was a version of "I think I'm turning Japanese" that may have raised some eyebrows, but one very charismatic guy really turned the room up with his renditions of Brown Eyed Girl and Semi-Charmed Kind of Life. I came here for lunch with a friend from work. She and I love the same type of food. We particularly like the revolving sushi part of this place during lunch. It's all made up and ready for us to just pick it up and eat. So it take us very little time to get there, eat, and get back. They give us salad, soup, and sushi for a very reasonable price. You get up to five plates of sushi. And you can get more for I think around $2 each. I didn't get any more, I was way too full. We also ordered the Ladybug roll. It's our favorite roll. We haven't been able to find that particular roll anywhere else. And between the two of us, we've covered a lot of sushi places. That's ok, we have no problems coming back to this place. read more
