Ordered the pan fried ahi with chili aioli and chicken stir fry. They give you a ticket that you take to the register to pay, and a buzzer for when your food is ready. At the register I also got some gushers and peanut butter cookies which were both really good! Although the fried ahi with chili aioli was delicious, I loovveedddd the chicken stir fry and loved that the Mac salad had tuna in it. You don't find the tuna in Mac salad very often now days. A small kitchen inside a small convenience store by Kam Hwy. We stopped for breakfast on the way to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Portions are huge! I ordered loco moco. The Patty sizes were really big and lots and lots of rice. My hubby loved his loco moco omelette. We sat by the tables right outside the store. I'm guessing patrons of the food trucks eat there. Friendly staff! Delicious food! Saw this spot on YouTube and it wasn't too far from us in Laie. Ropoco moco was so filling and the pork is tender and fatty. Lots of flavor. Looks like two types of gravy: one side is pork gravy and the other end is the brown gravy for the beef patty. Lots of food for $14! We also had the pan fried ahi with half chili and half miso aioli sauces. Sooo good! Tender pieces of quick fried ahi chunks drizzled with the aioli. The chili is more sweet and the miso is more savory. I personally prefer the miso aioli. Banana mochi is so chewy and sticky and just right not too sweet! Also a great bargain for Banana bread we will try when we get back to our tent! I'm sure IT's delicious as well. If you're in North Shote go try this spot out. I've been a Kaya's Store customer for over 70 years, from back when it was a small general store providing Punalu'u families everything from hardware, ropes and wire, screen, fishing tackle and glass boxes and spears, plumbing parts, cook- & table-ware, groceries, local fruits and vegetables, kerosene, paper kites and string, Duncan yo-yos, gasoline & oil, cold drinks in a iced cooler and treats for kids like popsicles, li hing mui, red ginger, rock candy and candy bars. Kaya's was always a warm and welcoming place, run by a wonderful family. Family members knew their local customers by name and offered helpful advice and tips on home repairs, fishing, gardening and recipes for local-style dishes. Today, they offer an array of superbly-prepared dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My recommendations are too plentiful to list - one should order with confidence, you won't be disappointed. My advice is to keep coming back and try them all! Kaya's also offers a helpful array of well-chosen foods, drinks and staples for weekly sustainment or for those quick, last minute items to complete a meal preparation. What a great place to eat! This is a little general store with an order window in back and some food trucks outside. The food selection is great and they have just about anything you could want to drink. We opted for green tea in a can. We ordered the ahi tuna with wasabi and fried rice. It was delicious and not to spicy as some wasabi can be. There are picnic tables outside and our food was brought to us. There were chickens and birds watching us eat. They were polite enough . Bottom line: the tastiest furikake garlic chicken I've had yet. My husband stopped by to pick up a quick meal and at the time I had foolishly told him that I was fine, I wish I had ordered a plate for myself, cause I could have eaten that whole container on a full stomach. My fiance and I stopped by Kaya's Kitchen right before heading out to a half-day activity at Kualoa Ranch! It was the perfect place to get food before going to Kualoa since it was just about 12 minutes away, and it was already open at 7am! PLUS, they had great high-protein meals to choose from! Both my fiance and I eat low-carb, so we wanted to eat a meal with a lot of protein and some fat. I got the NY Steak & Pan Fried Ahi (with Wasabi Aioli -- which I highly recommend!) and was able to replace the rice with cabbage. My fiance got the Surf n' Turf! We both got two servings of pickled cucumbers as our side dishes (which were sooo good)! Both plates were filling, hearty, and the PERFECT size to keep us both satiated for a half-day at Kualoa Ranch! My (now) fiance and I just found this spot about a week and a half ago while driving up the eastern coast of Oahu. What a great find. It looked like a family owned convenience store with a small kitchen, but don't be fooled, this family puts together some big taste in that little kitchen. We tried the ahi poke hawaiian style and the roast pork with gravy. Absolutely delicious, and not just delicious for that location... Kaya's has now made our must-visit list for Oahu. Poke was fresh, the poke sauce was flavorful, pork was tender and juicy, and the gravy was perfect (not oily or salty like some other places can be). Great service, friendly folks, and clean store and kitchen. Food is fantastic is you like poke and local Hawaiian eats. Located in Kaya Store in Hauula, Kaya Kitchen has a limited menu posted on the wall. You place your order and pay the cashier and then go wait under the tent beside the Aloha Shrimp truck, where it is shady and cool. My fresh ahi with wasabi sauce was served over a bed of white rice with mac salad. The ahi wasn't overcooked, but piping hot and very tasty. The wasabi sauce was just right, not overpowering but with a kick! And the mac salad was really good too, not just mayo covered macaroni! Woo hoo! read more

Rice was nice and cook right. The 4 BIG SHRIMPS was cooked right and had the perfect balance with the garlic and butter. Not too buttery which makes a huge difference. The steak was good and cooked well with the onions but if I could make a recommendation I would say to use a better cut of meat. I'd pay a little more for a better cut. Also the service was great the lady who took my order was nice and sweet even though it was only two at the time. They even have little pagers to let you know when your order is ready. We came here actually because of the seafood pancake which is shown as their cover picture on yelp, unfortunately it is not their dish. I told them they should probably just put it on the menu as their can't remove the picture and people keep asking about it. We were joking with the chef about it and she was really sweet and kind. I came to this place while visiting the North Shore. What caught my eye is the name "Kaya" which is the name of my best friend from high school. This place is a small hole-in-the-wall store, but don't let it deceive you. The food is DELICIOUS. I got this loco moco for $10.90! It was huge and had three eggs with mac salad. I wish I could have tried more on the menu. They also make the best butter mochi--it's so fresh. The spam was good too with a 2 for $4 deal. I had the pleasure of meeting the lady manager (we called her Mrs. Kaya, anyone know her real name?) who was incredibly nice and welcoming as well as the rest of the staff. You got to try this place, the plate lunches were one of my favorite parts of visiting the north shore. And if you need a quick drink or toiletry, they have you covered. LOVE this place!
