A great stop on your journey around the island. We stopped at this food truck on the north side of the island. We were on an island tour and this is one of the stops our driver takes his tour groups. He called ahead so we didn't have to wait for our food which was nice. There were lots of picnic tables for us to sit at and eat. They have two signature dishes. One is shrimp and the other chicken. Everyone really enjoyed their lunch. I took the opportunity to walk across the road and walk the beach.

This was hands-down the best meal I had during my time in Oahu. Tucked beside a 7/11 and a souvenir shop, this unassuming spot offers parking in the back. The staff were friendly. I had my heart set on the Huli Huli chicken, but it was sold out by the time we arrived (we came right at closing). Thankfully, the spicy garlic shrimp more than made up for it. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and generously portioned--just the right amount for one person. The dish came with rice noodles and a slice of pineapple, which added a refreshing balance to the spice. It's cash-only at the truck, but you can easily pay by card inside the souvenir shop and bring the receipt back--super easy process. Honestly, my only regret is not finding this place sooner. If you're nearby, don't sleep on it--it's worth every bite!

Friendly service! Great food! When we picked up our order of shrimp the bomb and spicy garlic shrimp, the cashier stated "you'll know which one is which" -he was right! Both were delicious. Note while they are served with rice and pasta, those also have sauce on them, so grab yourself a soda if you need a palette cleanser or a break from the heat! Better than waiting in line at Giovanni's, and beautiful beach to enjoy across the street

So cute!

We stopped here as part of the island rainbow tours! The shrimp scampi was amazing! The portions for the price was great! I highly recommend this and the tour! They have a shop right next door with rest rooms, they also have covered eating spaces! Everyone was very nice and the food was ready when we got there. I would 100% go back!

Very delicious food truck meal. 1 Shrimp Scampi (18), 1 Spicy Shrimp ($18), 2 canned soft-drinks. Total: $40

Garlic shrimp, with small amount of noodles swimming in the garlic sauce. The rice was good but I added the chicken sauce and perfection.

This place is great. There were three busses when we arrived and our food was ready in minutes. We tried the Huli Huli chicken and the garlic shrimp. The sauce that came with the chicken was terrific over the rice. The shrimp was better than Giovannis down the road. Would highly recommend.

Spicy garlic shrimp and rice with a garnish of pineapple. So good!!!

Had the spicy garlic shrimp here Saturday August 16, 2025. It was one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life and I wish I was still on Oahu I'd come back and get it again.

Stopped here during our around the island bus tour. Orders the spicy shrimp. Was delish but my only beef is that I'm gluten free so I couldn't eat the pasta...so I wish I could've gotten double rice. Great spot and literally across the beach. Next to a 7/11 if you need dessert afterwards. Staff are great and friendly.

HuliHuli Chicken

The HuliHuli Chicken and the spicy shrimp was so good! If you come to Kuala Ranch, you must come here!

We had a great time at this place. Food was delicious. We ordered huli-huli chicken, spicy garlic shrimp, and garlic butter shrimp. Our tastebuds approved :) Service was awesome, the owner was pleasant to talk with. It was an al fresco, there are tables and chairs outside. No in-door dining. There's a souvenir shop next to it with bathroom in case you want to change or shower. We used credit card to pay but they also accept cash. We'll be back for sure.

My parents like their ahi katsu, while I like their mahi mahi tacos and mahi mahi plate the most. The best kept secret is their Poisson Cru-- it was so good that I wanted it for dinner the exact same day that I ate it for lunch. The service is to-go only and you order at the counter. Ken is usually the one taking orders. He's fast and efficient and will not be making small talk or smiling at the customers, but he sure runs an incredible business. There is a sign in the place that says takeout only, you cannot eat there. However, they do have benches for customers to sit on while they wait for their food to be prepared. The mahi mahi tacos take a while for them to make; so just be prepared for longer wait times if you order those. It's really worth the wait, though! Since the place is takeout only, all I can say for the ambiance is that it's focused on efficiency and cleanliness, rather than on fancy decor or a certain look.

The fresh ahi katsu, huge! 14-16oz, panko crusted and deep fried medium or well done. It is topped with a combo of sweet katsu sauce and garlic mayo all over a bed of rice and a simple pile of dressed lettuce. Always look for the second fresh fish of the day. If available, the ono done katsu style eclipses the ahi. Just the nature of the fish, it is more tender and moist. Total weight is again, about a pound. Note: Fish can also be prepared in garlic butter. It's good but come on, garlic butter vs deep fried in a crispy coating? Good selection of half pound pre weighed containers of fresh ahi poke (ahi sesame ogo, just sayin') and fresh fish filets including ahi, mahi, ono, and marlin. Go early for best selection. Inexpensive. As of November 2025, $16/regular plate. Fresh fish filets, $7.50 / lb less than Costco. Fresh poke, $10/half pound. Cash or card. Same price. No nonsense counter service. Takeaway only. IMPORTANT: they are not active on socials. Last minute closures are posted on their door. Have a backup plan of where to eat ready. All that said, the best and based on the crowd of locals every visit, word is out.

I also love grabbing food here and taking it down the street to eat at the beach. It's one of those meals that feels even better when you're eating it by the water. The kalbi and pulehu are just about the same cuts of meats just a different marinade and you get to choose how you want it cooked. We got it medium rare. Kalbi is more like a sweeter Korean bbq and pulehu more smoky bbq. Meat was good and tender and shrimp was a nice creamy taste. Getting a bite of everything with the Mac salad is a must! Only downside is I tried to phone order in advance knowing they would be busy but I couldn't get the phone call through. We had to order once we got there and there was about an 1.5 hour wait for our order. The area is a dead zone for phone service so although they'll call to let you know your order is ready, you may not receive the call. But the wait was expected so we decided to go hang around the beach while waiting. There was a line of people wanting to order. I'd recommend to go early in the morning while they still have everything in stock because we got there at about 10:45AM and they had just sold out of their peanut butter rolls! It is cash only as well. Sad to see the business go but happy there is a lot of locals supporting them, giving fond farewells and wishing the Papa Ole's ohana the best!

We visited last weekend on Easter Sunday, and it was busy! Everything is prepared fresh to order,…read moreso it's worth the wait, for sure. My husband and I ordered the Mongolian beef with ahi cakes, the char siu with ahi cakes, and the Teri burger. We started with the Teri burger, which was served with a pineapple slaw on top. At first I was a little apprehensive, but it was absolutely delicious. Mild but flavorful, the slaw was the yin to the burgers yang - a perfect combination. The patty was thick and juicy, which was also completely unexpected. The Mongolian beef was well-executed - a good balance of meat and bell peppers; I was expecting this dish to be too spicy for me, but I found it to be just right. The ahi cakes were huge, so you would think they would be dry...you would also be wrong. They were perfectly dense while still moist, with the perfect aioli drizzled on top. The bonus? You get two! I didn't try the char siu, but my husband said it hit the spot. While char siu can sometimes be greasy, this was anything but. The pork was wok fried with a combination of fresh veggies, and was the perfect complement to the ahi cakes. The drive was long but scenic, and this food truck is right across the street from the ocean. Beautiful views, mouth-watering food, and great service (thanks, Jon!) make this place a must.
