My review is solely on the chilled fresh coconut experience. We were greeted with a sweet smile and welcoming spirit from the second we walked up to this open air hut. The owner asked me to pick out my own coconut out of the cooler that was filled with ice cold water. I obviously went for the largest one and then she asked " do you want more water or more meat in your coconut?" I wanted more coconut water than the pulp "meat" so she suggested that I grab a younger coconut "smaller" one. She explained that the bigger /older The coconut is, the less water it has but the more "meat" it contains. I went ahead and opted for a younger one and this thing was FULL of water. She grabbed a huge machete style knife and went to work on it.. it was a bit scary seeing the danger that these small businesses owners go through in opening these things to please us tourists. She was amazing at it. I do need to note the following. My husband does not like the taste of coconut, because obviously we are used to a certain taste which is what we are taught to believe coconuts taste like... but her loved this one! young fresh coconuts do not taste like anything "mainstream coconut flavor". It is a refreshing soft, delicate flesh which has a soft set jelly type of texture. It is slightly watery and you will taste the coconut water in it, think of Chinese jelly with very little sugar, almost buttery and melty. The water itself is very refreshing with a very little hint of flavor. We both really enjoyed our island fresh coconut experience and highly recommend you buy at least one! read more

Y'all know this is my place ^.^ on Thursday's is a farmers market at Waimea and I rarely get to go to this one even though it's my favorite but it was my friends birthday and they had off so we went ! Got my veggies and fruit, some Kava but than I yelled MEATBALLLSSSS he said oh my goodness and I said WERE GOING. Lol I usually ask for 7 orders but I finish it by the time we get home lol (I live in Honolulu) so I'm going to start asking for 10+ orders cause I want some for the next day . Also if anyone is worried for my weight gain or something I'm 88 pounds still and constantly eat these meatballs. I know I still need to try other menu items but the meatballs are just a huge fav right now but no worries I'll get to it. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! I asked Maly, who was very nice and caring, what she recommended for unique signature Laotian flavor and she told me the Khao Poon (which is to Laos what pho is to Vietnam). WOW!! This soup was incredible!! Packed with flavor. Ecstasy in every spoonful. The pork, noodles, and vegetables perfectly complemented. Maly and her husband just moved to North Shore 6 months ago, so please support this wonderful little establishment. read more

Maly is simply the best. The shrimp noodle bowl was so delicious. Not only is the food tasty- her place is very clean and she has a delightful place to eat at the red tables. Food really is fantastic, but I, as a local of the north shore, do not just go for the food. I go for the excellent service. I'll give a little experience for you. A couple of weeks ago, I was super excited to be taking a girl out on a date. I had promised this girl that we would have Mango Sticky Rice (highly recommended, by the way; you just have to ask her first), so I went up to the aunty there in the truck and asked her if she could prepare it for the next day. She agreed. When I came the next day, we ordered our food. I, expecting her to charge me additionally for the mango sticky rice, did not mention it; only after looking at the receipt did I realize that she had not charged me. I went up to the window and asked her to charge me for the rice, to which she declined. Being a poor college student, of course I obliged! After I sat down we were greeted with excellent service. We were each given the most beautifully-plated mango sticky rice I have ever had. Afterwards we were given a VERY large plate of food! The prices are very fair for the amount you get, and I say that meaning that there's a lot of food for a not-so-steep price! It was delicious! If anyone knows about customer service and good food, it's Maly's. Next time you're on the North Shore and at the Kahuku Food Trucks, hit up Maly's. Go for the very reasonably-priced food, stay for the amazingly kind-hearted service. read more
