Always love going to Kaya! The happy hour special for half off mojitos is my fav. The passionfruit flavor is definitely the best! The guava one did not taste super good on my last visit; it was super bitter and the server graciously let me swap it for the passionfruit flavor instead. I tried the fried chicken special and it was delicious! The chicken was so flavorful and crispy. Unfortunately the potatoes were a little undercooked but still had a good flavor!

I haven been to Kaya in a decade and after this experience I am regretting all my life choices LOL. Everything was delicious the service was also incredible! We came here for lunch on a weekend and we were able to get a table immediately. Their outdoor section was open but we opted for inside. The queso app was great. I loved that they did chips and warm tortilla! The Cuban was perfect and the aioli it came with was DELISH! We dipped the waffle fries in it, it was so good. I loveeee Birria so I was excited to see a Birria Cuban on the menu. Our meals were fantastic and I am so glad we decided to stop here. We will absolutely be back soon!

Blood orange Margarita

We went on a Wednesday night and did not have to wait long for a table. But they are very big on having a reservation which not fully sure why when they had enough open tables. We only had to wait cause we wanted to sit outside. I love a margarita. The bartender recommended the blood orange so tried that one first and it was good. Then our waitress recommended the passion fruit and I liked that one better!! I ordered the Birria Cuban and I would definitely get it again. My friend got the rainbow salad and she loved it!! Our waitress was great!! I wish she could have sat down and joined us!

We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and we had a wonderful experience! The food was amazing. My favorite was the birria--the beef was incredibly tender and had a rich flavor. The sauce that came with it was also delicious! They kindly made the sweet potato fries without salt for our baby, and she loved them! The service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and was able to tell us which dishes did not contain tree nuts. There is only one dish on the menu that contains peanuts. He also kindly brought a plastic cup with a lid for our daughter, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was great as well. It becomes even more romantic and perfect for a date with candles in the evening. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were able to easily find a table without waiting in line. I would especially recommend this restaurant to people with tree nut allergies because they have many menu options that do not contain tree nuts.

Another amazing trip to Kaya's! The rainbow salad with tofu and the corn and lentil beignets make a wonderful combination.

Kaya is a solid spot to go if you're in the Strip District. Staff is always welcoming and attentive. We got the mussels and the Cuban which were both delicious. Kaya has outdoor seating as well but we sat inside which is cozy and fun.

This place is just different... Great service, cool atmosphere, and some super unique food! Although the queso fundito was a tad greasy, the flavors were great. The sweet potato fries are probably my favorite i've ever had. I'll be honest... the Al pastor Chicken was kind of a mess. Between not being familiar with the flavor profile and not expecting to get covered in a spicy sauce that had a bit of a funky texture, it wasn't my favorite, but I'll be back to try other things!

What a great surprise! This was a last minute dinner date for us and we had such a great time! The atmosphere inside is so fun but since the weather was nice we decided to sit outside. The food was absolutely delicious, although definitely on the spicier side. The menu had such unique food choices, which made the experience even more fun. The Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding was to die for!!! Our only complaint was that the portions were a little on the smaller side. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely love to come back! Would give it a 4.5/5 stars if I could!!

Grilled Jerked Chicken Torta

Wow, Kaya has become one of my favorites on the Strip! The food is all delicious, their birria Cuban, grilled chicken sandwich, they're delicious! Drinks were also great, with notes you could actually taste and fun unique flavors. Also the Kaya salad dressing is really great, honestly one of the best side salads I've ever had. The service was also super fast, atmosphere is nice and moody, with fun decorations that fit the vibe of the menu. It's also one of the better priced restaurants in the area with good portions too, really loved it and would definitely recommend!

Three of us made brunch reservations for a Sunday at 1pm. We got there and were able to be seated right away. The inside is long and narrow with a long bar and a good amount of tables. We ordered beignets to share and a couple of times off the brunch menu. My friend who said he's always disappointed by chicken and waffles at restaurants said his was pretty good. I enjoyed my Sunday chicken sandwich and liked how the beignets had a kick to them.

Had dinner tonight at Kaya .. We had the crispy tofu and poke bowl to get started. I am not a tofu person - but really like this! For dinner - the recommendation was to try the original chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint! Fantastic dinner and shout out to Sasha - our waitress - thank you again for great service!

We had another amazing lunch at kaya. We got the steak tacos, and, they were some of the best tacos I've ever had. Really good steak, on a spread of guac with pickled veggies on top. And the second dish was red pipián vegetables, it's a peanut mole sauce with roasted cauliflower and sweet potatoes. We added shrimp, and it wasn't just 3, there were a bunch! Yummy!!!! We finished with a lime tart with merengue. Not too sweet, very flavorful. Another quality big burrito meal!

Rainbow salad with mahi mahi (bottom) and tofu (top) (5/5)

This was our fourth time at Kaya, and we have loved it each time! We got the rainbow salad with mahi mahi and another with tofu and both were excellent (5/5)! It is a really big and filling salad, even if you do not add a protein. The service was great (4.5/5); our waitress was very nice and attentive! This was our first time sitting outside, which was pretty nice (4.5/5)! It was not super loud, which I was a little worried about. The outdoor seating is great on a nice day!

What is the dress code?

Casual. I'm not aware of restrictions, but it's a nicer restaurant, so I'd recommend business casual.

Did kaya bring back their happy hour half off cocktails?

Nope! I was just there a few weeks ago, no happy hour deals. It didn't sound like they planned to bring them back.

Any Gluten Free Options?

My Mom has celiac disease so needs to be very careful. Kaya and all of the Big Burrito Group restaurants are good about this. They can provide you with a list of gluten free options. I know for a fact the green curry is gluten free since that is my…

I have been a customer of Jam Jerk multiple times for about one year. Through the Market Wagon website, I ordered a Sorrel BBQ Jerk Pork dinner and a Jamaican beef patty. I really enjoyed the flavors of the jerk pork, beef patty (ground beef and spices inside a flaky crust), plantains, and salad. I thought that the rice with beans and the cocoa bread tasted OK. Most recently, I ordered a Curry Chicken Bowl, which contained Caribbean curry chicken, rice, plantains, potatoes, and salad with dressing; and a Jerk Shrimp Bowl, which contained shrimp, rice, plantains, kale salad, and jerk sauce. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and I very much enjoyed their flavors.

It was so easy to schedule this service and there were meal options for everybody (including even our gluten free/vegan attendees). It can be really scary to order catering, especially when you're a few states away. However, processing payment was simple and direct and communication was outstanding. Everybody who attended raved about the food and drinks (which came in awesome reusable bottles). The food was delivered hot and on time. I cannot recommend Jam Jerk enough and if we find ourselves doing more work in Pittsburgh, we will absolutely be ordering catering from them again!

I tried several items, including the brown stew chicken, rice and peas, cabbage, and the beef patties. The brown stew chicken was delicious. I got it in the large size and it was indeed quite large. The chicken is seasoned well but not too spicy. It's tender, and although I tend not to like dark meat, I really enjoyed it from this place. They served it with potatoes, which were nicely cooked, and carrots, which went really well with the sauce. You get 2 sides with your meal so I choose the rice with peas and the cabbage. The cabbage was very flavorful and just tasted homey. Several other vegetables mixed in too. They gave me a ton of rice and peas, which is great because I thought it was delicious. Soft rice, especially with the chicken, just mixed perfectly. Delicious, delicious, delicious. The beef patties were also very tasty. The inside is in a way almost creamy. It's filled with juicy meat, and the outside stayed nice and crisp. Very nice. All in all, definitely a great place. One of the better Caribbean spots in Pittsburgh for sure. I'd order delivery from them again (I think they are delivery only).

I…read morehad been following Caribbean Vybz on Instagram and liking and drooling over just about every picture they posted for a while, but just never got to visit as by the time I got home from work they were either closed or had ran out of what I wanted. Fast forward a year or so and much to my joy they announced via social media that they had stopped cooking out of their home and started a food truck! One day I saw that they would be on Larimer Avenue in the Larimer section of the city so I made my way there expeditiously as T.I. would say. LOL! I already knew that I was going to go with their Curry shrimp with cabbage and rice & peas! I also got a Tropical Rhythms Island Mango drink to wash it all down. A few minutes later I had my food and made my way home. You guessed it, expeditiously! LOL! As soon as I started to dig in I was taken back as I hadn't had Jamaican food this good since Mama Rose on nearby Mayflower Street in the late 90's! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and full of flavor! The cabbage was tender and the rice and peas were delicious as well! My food was so good that I told my wife about it and ended up going back the same day to get us their Jerk chicken for dinner. Unfortunately it was near the end of the night and they had ran out of cabbage, but gave us extra chicken which more than made up for not having anymore cabbage. The jerk chicken was absolutely incredible! Very authentic and just as delicious! Be sure to follow them on Instagram @caribbeanvybzllc to see where they will be next! I still can't believe that authentic Jamaican food like this can come out of a food truck!

There are a few options around Pittsburgh for Jamaican cuisine but this is certainly one of my favorites.
