The food is always INCREDIBLE, the menu stays fresh and interesting, and you can tell how much care goes into every dish. They update it almost every week!!! But keep the classics. Their menu changes seasonally, and it currently lists food such as fries, Cuban sandwich, chicken-tortilla soup, tagliatelle, flat-iron steak, and Hokkaido scallops. I met a friend here for one dinner. The setting was more on the casual side rather than fine dining. (I wore jeans and a blouse.) I have eaten authentic foods in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, and I thought that the menu was slightly influenced by these regions. The waitress and waiter spoke nicely with us. Our dinner that included a BYO wine (with a $5 charge per person), appetizer, entree, and dessert lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes. The foods had strong flavors, and we both enjoyed everything that we ate. For appetizers, my friend and I shared the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, which also contained carrots, pecans, and a dressing, and the Hot Low Country Crab Dip, which contained a good amount of crab meat and was served with crunchy toast. For entrees, I ate the Cutler-cove Salmon, which was accompanied with asparagus, potatoes, and a spicy jerk sauce and habanero purée, and my friend ate the Arugula Salad, which contained fresh arugula, baby carrots, goat cheese, olives, and hot honey. For dessert, I ate the Kentucky Bourbon Cheesecake, which was topped with pecans, caramel, and whipped cream, and my friend ate the Maple Panna Cotta with raspberries.

I don't say this lightly...this is the real deal…read more I'm originally from South Florida, and I've spent time in Jamaica, so I'm very picky when it comes to Caribbean food. I've had a lot of "close enough" over the years...but this? This is authentic. This is the kind of food that makes you pause midbite and just nod. Dalia's isn't your typical restaurant, and that's part of what makes it so special. It's set inside what feels like a home, and when you walk in, that's exactly the experience...you're not just a customer, you feel like a guest. It's warm, personal, and genuinely welcoming in a way you just don't find in most places anymore. And I have to say...everything is spotless. You can tell she takes pride not just in her food, but in the space she's inviting you into. And she carries that same care into the food. I've been here multiple times, and what impresses me most is the consistency. You know how some places wow you the first time, then slowly fall off? Not here. Every single visit, the food has been just as good as the last. That alone is rare. Now let's talk about the oxtail... Fall-off-the-bone tender, rich, deeply seasoned...but perfectly balanced. Not overly spicy, not bland...just enough heat to remind you you're eating proper Jamaican food. And unlike a lot of places, you actually get meat here. Generous, satisfying portions that feel like someone cooked this for you on purpose. The rice (and yes, it's seasoned beautifully...more like a classic Caribbean rice than traditional peas and rice) is the perfect base, especially when you ask for a little extra of that brown sauce over the top. Trust me on that. The cabbage has a nice little kick to it, cooked just right...not soggy, not raw. The plantains? Sweet, caramelized, exactly what you want them to be. And I have to mention the mac & cheese because it surprised me in the best way. Creamy, with a perfect cheese pull, but not heavy or overwhelming. It's balanced...comforting without being too much. One of the things that really stood out to me is the quality of the meat. I actually asked her about it, and she sources locally from a farm...which explains a lot. You can taste the difference. Also, pro tip: call ahead. Her food is fresh and made with care, and she does sell out. I usually let her know what day I'm coming and what I want, and she's always incredibly accommodating and kind about it. The first time I came, she even gave me a sample plate with a little bit of everything...and there wasn't a single thing on that plate I wouldn't order again. This place isn't just a restaurant...it's an experience. It feels like sitting in someone's home, being fed with pride, skill, and love. Honestly? It's a hidden gem, and places like this are getting harder to find. I'll be back again...and again.

I tried several items, including the brown stew chicken, rice and peas, cabbage, and the beef patties. The brown stew chicken was delicious. I got it in the large size and it was indeed quite large. The chicken is seasoned well but not too spicy. It's tender, and although I tend not to like dark meat, I really enjoyed it from this place. They served it with potatoes, which were nicely cooked, and carrots, which went really well with the sauce. You get 2 sides with your meal so I choose the rice with peas and the cabbage. The cabbage was very flavorful and just tasted homey. Several other vegetables mixed in too. They gave me a ton of rice and peas, which is great because I thought it was delicious. Soft rice, especially with the chicken, just mixed perfectly. Delicious, delicious, delicious. The beef patties were also very tasty. The inside is in a way almost creamy. It's filled with juicy meat, and the outside stayed nice and crisp. Very nice. All in all, definitely a great place. One of the better Caribbean spots in Pittsburgh for sure. I'd order delivery from them again (I think they are delivery only).

I have been a customer of Jam Jerk multiple times for about one year. Through the Market Wagon website, I ordered a Sorrel BBQ Jerk Pork dinner and a Jamaican beef patty. I really enjoyed the flavors of the jerk pork, beef patty (ground beef and spices inside a flaky crust), plantains, and salad. I thought that the rice with beans and the cocoa bread tasted OK. Most recently, I ordered a Curry Chicken Bowl, which contained Caribbean curry chicken, rice, plantains, potatoes, and salad with dressing; and a Jerk Shrimp Bowl, which contained shrimp, rice, plantains, kale salad, and jerk sauce. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and I very much enjoyed their flavors.

It was so easy to schedule this service and there were meal options for everybody (including even our gluten free/vegan attendees). Everybody who attended raved about the food and drinks (which came in awesome reusable bottles). The food was delivered hot and on time. I cannot recommend Jam Jerk enough and if we find ourselves doing more work in Pittsburgh, we will absolutely be ordering catering from them again!

It's in a small strip mall at the edge of Carnegie (almost in Heidelburg) where Family Video used to be and next to a Subway. The menu was appealing because I love Caribbean food, and I'm sick of our usually takeout places. Called ahead and ordered. While they have some seating, they were not currently doing dine-in (this review was written during Coronavirus time). When I entered the first thing I noticed was that the place was spotless, which I find to always be a great quality in a restaurant. The gentleman working (Donald) was polite and pleasant. He was just finishing up our order when I arrived. I was excited to see a variety of Carribean bottled beverages in the cooler. My 8 year old daughter was even happier when I brought her home two bottles of pineapple guava juice that is hard to find. The portions are huge! For the meals, you pick your meat, cooking style, a veggie and a starch. My husband ordered jerk pork, with Mac and cheese and coleslaw. I ordered jerk chicken with Mac and cheese and a tossed salad. I also ordered an extra side of plantains (not many places serve it around here), and then fish fingers for my kids (which are $6 and come with a healing portion of fries- not mentioned on the menu). As you can see from the photos, their servings of Mac and cheese fill both side dish areas of the take out container and even spill out a bit. It was creamy, and not a super duper cheesy taste. I thought it was a refreshing break from spice of the jerk chicken. The side of coleslaw was quite generous- no itty bitty cups here. The tossed salad was very fresh- no bagged mix here- with thin slices of a few other veggies mixed in. I liked my husband's pork a lot and will probably order it next time. It was significantly less spiced than my chicken (granted I'm not a big best-seeker, though I love jerk). The pork was very tender. My chicken was unfortunately a little overcooked and dry, but damn the flavor was good. The plantains were a delicious addition. My kids were very happy with their fish fingers and fries (and shared in our sides). My kids are 8 and 10 and eat a decent amount- we still have significant leftovers. All of this food for about $51. So glad that I found this place- will definitely return.

So instead of giving it to me, he put it into a microwave (you're never supposed to microwave in stryofoam because of chemical leaching). And he only put it in for a minute, so I was doubly scratching my head when he gave it to me. The food was barely lukewarm when I tried a small bite. I immediately gave it back, demanded my money back, and asked him if it had been sitting there like that all day, to which he shrugged. He tried to input a refund transaction into the computer but couldn't, then had to call his manager on a cell phone - asking me if cash back instead of credit card was ok. Somehow, the cash option evaporated, and he kept inputting something into the computer. I asked him if was going to give me the refund and he told me "Yes, you can go now." Meanwhile, he kept waiting on customers coming in and giving them food possibly full of bacteria - including an elderly guy. He was also serving soup to customers from a giant kettle on the stove with no flame under it. Did this place have any heating elements at all? When he finally told me I should see a credit statement on my card, I left, told the elderly guy not to eat his food, and made an online complaint to the county health dept. The weirdest part of all of this is that I had been here a few times previously and everything had been fine
