If I could give a negative for the stars I would. I waited well over an hour for my food. Then when the waitress brought the food she through the plate at someone causing the sauce on another plate to fall all over my purse. She proceeds to throw the plate that the sauce fell from in front of the person who ordered it and walked away. My friend ended up cleaning my purse because the waitress just walked away. We asked for silver and was told there wasn't any but other people where getting silverware. The waitress came throwing the silverware at us saying she had to roll it herself and that's not her job. Then I spoke to a manager who said they would be back after talking to the waitress and never came back. I had to get up and ask for another manager who came and said she heard about the purse incident but that's all. Then the bills came out and they were all wrong. I come in on a Sunday to watch the football game. I got sat down, and no one came to ask for my drink or take my order for almost 30 minutes. When I went inside to ask for a server or place a togo order at the bar, the bartender did not send a server nor did she want to take my order and. I had to convince her to take my order. Once my dry Mac&cheese burger came out, I lost my whole appetite. McDonalds gives better service than this place. I will never come back and I degrade that place every chance I get. I came to Katy Vibes with a group of friends and had a horrible experience. First it was $35 each for my hubby and I to get in to friends who already had a table. Then Howard Hewett was 2 1/2 hours late. Our waiter took our orders and then walked out. We didn't have a drink of water for over an hour and a half. This place is a great crawfish deal $6 a Llb. This was my first time here and I loved the environment. The crawfish was spicy just how I love it. Also they have a stage and have all the sports game and live band nights. They have latin nights and country nights for dancing. They're going to offer karaoke soon and the kitchen is fully open for those who just prefer to eat and watch. Worst experience ever. Waited 75 minutes for food. When the food finally arrived (the entree, not the appetizer), the server spilled the cocktail sauce on my friends new designer bag. I cleaned the bag and was able to prevent a stain, thankfully. The manager came by to ask how the experience was, we politely voiced our concerns regarding the wait, the missing appetizer, the wait for utensils (after the food arrived) and the how the server threw the napkins at my friend (forgot to mention previously). I had a pre-paid event recently at Katy Vibes that started during their happy hour. We were left sitting entirely too long before getting any service and had to get up and request to be waited on. Meanwhile waiters and waitresses could be seen standing around doing absolutely nothing. When we did finally get to order, we were told various items were out of stock until after speaking with the manager; the delivery truck magically appeared. They left our table dirty, when I had to again request someone to pick up the used utensils and dishes, so we could eat dessert. First night at Katy Vibes, we had a horrible waiter name Miguel to start. What really made me write this post was the fact that after I left I had 3 charges on my card, and after calling them to dispute the charges I learned that night they had a glitch in their computer system. After several days of waiting to hear from them and no response my card was charged for the higher amount, the waiter gave himself a tip, I explained to the manager everything that happened that night. The place is nice I went with my family and three of them said it reminds them of a Chinese Buffet I guess the decor and open space. We ordered Tito's and soda and they were out. Then we wanted Kettle One and soda and they were out too. The manager came to the table and was very nice explained they were busy the night before and were out of certain liquors. It took forever to get our drinks the service was slow. I'm in the industry and wish EVERY Server knew that their money is on the tables not in the back or in the kitchen. The crawfish is good and good price. However the rest of the menu is way over priced. We got an appetizer sampler for 20.00 we think it should have had more of each item served. We also got dessert and the cheese cake felt like it was room temperature and texture was soft not cold and firm like we like it. Just left that place very disgusted. When my husband first got there just to have dinner and watch some sports, we were very pleased to hear the lively music they were playing. The dj was playing all kinds of genre. He was taking requests. Very exciting until my husband asked him to play some bachata and a half hour later when he hadn't, I went and asked again. Another half hour after I asked nothing yet. I spoke to the manager that says he's Portuguese and he said he'd speak to the dj. 20 minutes after still no bachata. I guess at Vortex it's up to the dj. Let me start off by saying the only reason there is even 1 star is because of our server but even that wasn't something that could be rated lower (maybe 1/2 a star). When we first arrived we were seated immediately but we waited for a good 15 to 20 minutes just to have our drink order taken. Then we waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks, and after that we ordered our food which we asked for 2 pounds (their version of 2 pounds) each and on the menu it says that by the pound is served with corn and potatoes and we did not receive either or but we were informed that there was no sausage to begin with and we were OK with that. When we got the crawfish there was no flavor most of them were soggy and probably dead before they were cooked. We informed our server that we did not like the food and asked to order something else and even that food came out mushy And flavorless. The drinks were OK from my end, I cannot say anything about my brother-in-law's beer. My drink was decent but was warm even though it was supposed to be a cold cocktail. After spending $165, I would absolutely not recommend this place. I've had my fair share of crawfish and I have never had anything this bad. I waited until our third time going to write my review. It's a very cool "vibe" but each time we've gone the service has been horrible. Today was their One Year anniversary party and they had crawfish for 3.99/lb. we waited almost 30 minutes to order. Ok fine. Someone took our drink order and our food order (10lbs of crawfish, chips and salsa, a water, an unsweetened tea and a Diet Coke. The crawfish came pretty quick (because they were already cooked) but no silverware, bucket/paper towels or drinks. Drinks came 20-30 later. We asked two different people for a bucket and some paper towels. I finally had to take them from a table that left. My husband had to go to the bar 3 times to get our drinks filled. The kicker was they weren't even busy yet. I feel for the people that came after us. The Jazz was great but we probably won't go back as there's too many other options where this doesn't happen, especially when they choose to charge you a $7.99 "Dine In" fee. We Tried Katy Vibes for the first time last night and for a new restaurant and sports bar I was not overly impressed with the staff or the food. They have a good selection of beer, wine and designer cocktails which is a good start but they need to work on menu and more specifically the cooking. Ordered the crabs cakes appetizer that came out a little undercooked and served with a mayonnaise sauce that tasted like mayo with orange food coloring. Our entree was fried shrimp with sweet potato fries that were ok but nothing to brag about. The wait staff seemed to show the customers attention but none were overly friendly. The manger appeared once before we left but was more interested in rearranging tables as opposed to making sure his customers were pleased with the service and food. For a sports bar the place was lacking memorabilia that represents our local teams or any team for that matter and there was a lot of strange modern decor. IMHO they should have put more into players uniforms and banners as opposed to bubble machines. Maybe they are a work in progress? read more
