She isn't overly friendly but I definitely received better service and can say I've put that brutal initial contact behind me. Stopped by here one morning because its close to my job. Its located in a small shopping strip so you may miss it. The young lady working the register was nice. I wanted to try a few things so I ordered the sausage and cheese kolache: bread was good, barely any cheese and a little sausage. I ordered two breakfast tacos. I was given no sauce to go with my tacos nor was I asked if I wanted any (I took my order to go didn't notice until I had left). The breakfast tacos are pretty big so I was excited to taste them. Unfortunately the tacos lacked any flavor. The bacon, egg and cheese taco was basically all eggs with no flavor. Only one piece of bacon. I took two bites and was unimpressed. The potato egg sausage and cheese taco also lacked flavor. Not sure I would visit this spot again. read more

This place has an assortment of Kolaches and donuts. I haven't tried all of them, but most are above average. I've heard rumors that the owners won't give credit card tips to the employees and they keep them for themselves. So if you tip, try and leave it in cash - not sure how true that it, but a customer asked me to leave a tip in cash. If it is true, shame on the owners. Staff is always friendly. I checked in on Yelp and received a free donut and boy was my grandson happy about that, lol! He ordered a plain beef Kolache with no cheese as if he knew what he was doing. I asked him "how do you know what you want right away? You haven't looked at all the other choices." He said, "Pawpaw brings me here for breakfast sometimes before taking me to school." I was like, "ohhh I see!" Originally, I was only here for my grandson until I scanned the array of Kolache sandwiches behind the counter and I was like, "Whoah! I think I want a Kolache too!" I'm not a breakfast person during the week so this was an extremely tempting situation for me, and one that I could not resist! I succumbed to the rich buttery aroma that was hovering in the atmosphere! I was so lost as I attempted to choose just one Kolache. This task proved to be a difficult one. In the end, I settled for a plain beef Kolache with no cheese because my grandson says that it's great! He was correct! I enjoyed it a little too much. Instead of eating it, I scarfed it down as if I was starving, lol. However, I was able to taste the rich robust and sweet buttery flavor of the croissant which tasted really great with the flavor of the beef sausage. What a great mixture of infused flavors! Next time, and yes there's definitely going to be a next-time, I'm going to try a different Kolache. Maybe, I'll try the brisket Kolache, or maybe the boudin Kolache, or maybe the Philly Cheesesteak Kolache, or maybe the cheeseburger Kolache, or maybe the Chicken Feta Cheese Kolache, or maybe the PEPPERONI PIZZA KOLACHE! Didn't I tell ya? It's no easy task when it should be, lol. There's an extensive selection which makes it difficult but it's worth it! Overall, this establishment is really nice! Unfortunately we have watched it steadily decline to the point that I'm now leaving my first ever review EVER. We have now consistently gone to Karma only to be served by employees who seem irritated about the fact we are giving them business and can't wait for us to leave. Additionally, the food quality has also steadily declined. We used to get kolaches that were packed so full of goodness that when you took a bite it was hard to keep all that yummy goodness from spilling out. Today, you will get a sad piece of bread with nothing worth while inside. It seemed like online they offered more meatless options but when in person, they offered the same meatless options you can find at other places. The donut holes were really good though! They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and had the perfect amount of icing! And they even had red velvet donut holes! I'm sorry but these kolaches fell very short of what I was expecting. Extremely underwhelming mainly because there was no flavor. I ordered the carnitas, sausage egg and cheese, and jalapeño popper kolaches. To say that these were disappointing is an understatement. The carnitas had absolutely no flavor and the meat was dry. It was just pulled pork without even salt or pepper. The sausage one should have had flavor at least from the sausage but even that was bland. So with those two being duds I was hoping the jalapeño one would have some flavor from the pepper. Boy was I let down. Nothing. No kick, no heat, no flavor. I might as well have eaten a chunk of cream cheese. Sad. And no, I don't have Covid. I'm sorry, I don't like leaving "bad" reviews but these kolaches gave me food depression. Today was my 1st time visiting and I am definitely pleased!!! I got lost and the lady on the phone was sooooo helpful in directing me to the store. Very polite!! I walk in and there was a variety to choose from and I had to take a moment just to decide. I finally decided on the spicy sausage and cheese and the spicy boudin. OMG!!! Absolutely delicious!!! Usually when stores say spicy, it isn't true. Not the case with spicy boudin!! The spicy sausage wasn't that spicy for me. However, the bread for both was so buttery, soft and fresh!!! I signed up with my phone nu.ber and was able to get a free doughnut, which was cool!!! I took a picture of the spicy boudin one but I was almost done with the spicy sausage one and realized I didn't snap a picture. I was too busy enjoying the food!!! They have the best boudin kolaches on this side of town!!! They come in spicy or not spicy. One kolache is definitely filling and they are heads and shoulders over Shirley's kolaches. The shop is very small and quaint and not made for dining in I have tried their red velvet cake and old fashioned doughnuts and they are both good. They are not too cakey so that us good. It originally had a 5-star rating before renovating so I wanted to see what the hype was all about. Rather than going to a donut chain, I would prefer supporting a local family-owned business. It was a little too early for donuts with ice cream so I opted for the kolaches instead. I got a spicy sausage and cheese and a spicy boudin. Because I checked in on yelp I received a FREE donut! I chose the blueberry cake donut. (5/5): BLUEBERRY CAKE DONUT: I saw another yelper rave about this one so I had to try it. I love cake donuts because it's dense and a little sweeter compared to normal donuts. I enjoyed the little crunchy bits of sugar. One of the best blueberry cake donuts I've had and even better cause it was free. (4/5): SPICY SAUSAGE AND CHEESE: The ratio of bread to sausage to bread was just enough. I did get the smaller one and not the jumbo. Their sausage had a great flavor and wasn't dry. The jalapenos gave just the right amount of spice. (4/5): SPICY BOUDIN KOLACHE: I got the last one in the case but the cashier told another customer there was more in the back. This one was also pretty good but filling. I did remove some of the bread and only ate the boudin because it was carb overload. I would love to come back and try their sweet dessert donuts with ice cream. Not many places aside from Dunkin Donuts open after 1pm, but found Karma Kolache after a short yelp search in the area. Saw they offered a free donut with a checkin, plus they have pretty good reviews (limited sample size), so we thought it'd be worth trying. What a gold mine. I have to say I could eat here a couple of times a week but, the calories would add up fast. This is a husband/wife team and they could not be any more pleasant. The kolaches are nice and flaky. I have gone at lunch time and was lucky enough to get the BBQ and a chicken feta kolache (I think that's what it's called). Both were stuffed with filling. We all know sometimes you go to places and bite into a kolache and are asking yourself "where is the filling", not here. We have bought donuts only twice. Not because we don't like them, but because the kolaches are so good. I do like their donuts better than Shipley's. Oh yeah, almost forgot the apple fritter is yummy. So I had an issue with this place, but I had to revise my review because honestly they redeemed themselves and their kolaches and donuts are on point. I ordered today with a credit of free dozen donut holes and a free kolache, so I got 3 spicy boudain kolaches (one for free) chorizo egg and cheese kolache, 2 cinnamon rolls and a dozen donut holes (free). Delivery was quick and easy and I got everything that I asked for. Spicy boudain was indeed spicy, cinnamon roll was huge (although I could of gone with more cinnamon, but thats just personal taste).
