They were able to offer some small samples of typical cakes, which was very helpful for us to make a decision. We decided on the Chocolate Mousse Cake as it awesome (I love dark chocolate). While there I wanted to try their sweet Kolaches. My Czech great grandmother used to make Prune Kolaches 50 yrs ago, but the family recipe is long lost. Czech Kolaches are very different from the Kolaches you find in America today. While Kingdom didn't have prune Kolaches, they did have the Eastern European style fruit Kolaches that I was craving. I'd been looking all over trying to find these. I even went to Fredericksburg hoping the German bakeries would have some, but they don't. I ordered blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and cheese Kolaches to go. This is the closest I've seen to what grandma made. We visited on a Saturday and did not see the owners.
