Enjoyable lebanese style fast food. I usually get their large shawarma combo plate with hummus and babaganush.

Worst babaganoush I've ever had....hummus is okay...based on baba I don't think I would try anything else from them.

This place is great. They definitely have the best tabouli salad in the area! I also ordered a Shish Taouk Sandwich. The only bad thing I could say about it was that they used a Frank's red hot sauce on it but that was my fault because I asks for hot sauce. I assumed they would have something more authentic. The sandwich otherwise was delicious. They have a ton on pies which looked incredible. I'll be sure to try one next time. read more

It's really hard to go wrong with Mediterranean food especially if you are that ethnicity. They did it right! Garlic Dark Matter I put 4 stars and not 5 only because, come on, $14 for chicken with rice? Its essentially the sandwich disassembled. I can't really complain too much, this place is what it is, and for chicken shwarma, I've never had better. If only they'd update the lighting to be easier on the eyes (expect fluorescent lights like in an office), but then I suppose their turn around would be slower, which probably doesn't work for this business model. The staff are generally friendly (but speak little English), however I feel as though several times I've come in, ordered, been told "the wait is 20 min" and then others (who are of the same ethnicity as they- I'm not, I'm Caucasian) have newly come in, only to get their food more rapidly. Quite a nit-picky gripe, I know, but still, I know favoritism when I see it. Forget all that, just go on a slower night and get a chicken platter and have your mind blown by the white sauce that, for lack of a better description, is the most highly condensed garlic flavor I've ever experience, and seasons the chicken, rice and variety of pickled veggies wonderfully. read more

Just ordered off seamless and this joint was awwwwesome! I tend to go a bit crazy when I order food because I love soup and can't have a meal without it! I ordered the Falafel plate (over rice) with lentil soup and hummus. I have enough food to feed the borough! They gave me a billion pieces of fresh pita bread and this tub of hummus will last me several days. Everything had a great, fresh flavor. Simply the best!!! Highly recommend. As far as Lebanese places go, it's the best. The shawarma and the roast chicken is awesome. The shawarma is is served in a wrap with pickled veggies and you can add their made on location garlic sauce (amazing) and tahini. I still prefer the Israeli shawarma (it comes with more stuff, like humus and salads) but this one is great too. The roast chicken is simple but delicious. I used to live in the neighborhood, and used to order it often. It comes with the pickles, sauce and the wrap (which is more like an oversized thinner pita). I'd also recommend the meat pies (kind of like baked flatbread with meat on it. Veggie items also available). The staff is cool, friendly and accommodating. Pricing is fair, the plates may be a little overpriced. Keep it up guys! read more

I agree with Nab B., after moving to NYC it took me 6 years to find Karam...what an absolute dream -the chicken and garlic sauce were delicious. The guys behind the counter are so nice and helpful. I've since moved away again, but if anyone wants authentic, amazing Lebanese food, go to Karam in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Half Chicken of the gods.. The mythical deliciousness of the hummus and tabbouleh on the side of your plate with only be eclipsed by the the spinach pie which has flavor beyond measure. In decline, it seems. Karam does a few things well. I love their zataar. Some of the sides are good, but some are suspect. Best Lebanese food in NY, for sure. I've actually never tried the chicken shawarma the reviews below have raved about, but that's only because every time I go I can't bear to NOT have the lamb gyro!! The hommos is unbelievably creamy and delicious and the zatar bread perfectly spiced. A must, especially after a long afternoon of shopping on 86th street. Only warning: not a place to eat if you are looking to sit down with more than three people. The seating is TINY TINY TINY and only has room for about 10 people, in total. read more

My colleague, bless him, brought a bunch of smelly Chicken Shwarmas on public transport all the way from Bay Ridge to our office in Midtown, just so we could experience their greatness. The Shwarma is the best: fresh pita bread packed with juicy pieces of rotisserie chicken, lettuce, tomato, pickled beets, and, of course, The Infamous Garlic Sauce, creamy and wonderful, and guaranteed to linger in your mouth for at least 24 hours. I was always a bit skeptical of coming in here. There was just no way that this hole-in-a-wall could have any sort of decent food. I was so wrong that I don't even know where to start. It's SO GOOD. Seriously, do yourself a favor and stop wasting time laying in bed reading all the Yelp reviews you can find, and just order from here, now. The food is fresh, flavorful, the menu is detailed, the prices are amazing for the amount of food you get, and they have a decent selection of vegetarian options. A falafel over rice lasts me two meals. And don't let the rice deceive you-it may not look like much but it is so seriously good. (Why are you still reading? Have you ordered yet?) The tabouleh is to die for. The pickled stuff (no idea what it is) was, okay to be fair I didn't like it at first, but then I found myself craving it. Their orange juice is the best I've ever had. I have to say that everything I have had at this place has been good. Really cheap food too. I think a whole chicken that's roasted to perfection btw, comes with a oh, so good white garlicky sauce for less than 7 bucks or something. The kibbeh, salads, grape leaves ( both veggie and meat), as well as stuffed zucchinini is sooo good. I also love thier radish pickles. Beware of the spicy peppers in it. They will make you tear! You know I really like the place though when I order the chicken sandwich, which is really good BTW, and find a penny in it ( yes a whole penny), and I still rave about the place, and finish the sandwich as well. The only downside to the place is that it's tiny so seating may be an issue when it's busy. read more

GROSS! Really Gross. I'll be posting photos. Ordered delivery at 8pm. Food arrived 35 minutes later which was surprisingly quick. Despite the quick delivery, both shwarma sandwiches were cold and VERY soggy. One bite and the wrap turned to mush and fell apart. Once the wrap fell apart I was able to see that my chicken shwarma sandwich contained small gristly bits of chicken, very little lettuce, and an absurd amount of spicy pickled radish. The menu online did not describe that the sandwich would contain spicy pickled radish. Many reviews have described their food as 'flavorful' but the radishes were entirely responsible for that 'flavor' and I wouldn't describe it as pleasant. Neither of the sandwiches contained sauces. They provided one container of tahini sauce in the bag despite my request for "extra ranch on the side" which was a listed menu option. After calling the restaurant at 8:45, I was informed that they don't ever offer ranch (fine, but correct the menu please.) I also mentioned the cold and soggy nature of the food and management said "Well, our delivery guy is already gone. So... I don't know what you expect. There's nothing I can do." Considering the restaurant closes at 9:30, I was surprised that they were so unable to offer any type of resolution. I only ate 1/4 of my meal before I gave up and made pasta. My boyfriend's beef/lamb shwarma was no better. I eat middle eastern food around this price point quite regularly so I am confident that this is poor quality, even for the price. I've been eating this restaurant's food since I was on all fours, and I've seen it evolve and the neighborhood along with it. Karam has always been an un-changing hole in the wall of rigidly enforced normality. It's been here forever and hasn't changed much. It's been around long enough to have built a cult following but it's also seen it's ups and downs in quality. Inside is small, tackily appointed and congested. The clientele is largely Arabic-speaking men, and this place has a fiercely loyal following among Arab Livery Drivers in Brooklyn. Karam can even arrange for a neighborhood c ab service to deliver its food anywhere in the 5 Boroughs, which you can't say about any other Middle Eastern Restaurant that I know of. Finally, it's open quite late, on weekends, it's open past 1 am. On the downside, this place has gotten a bit pricey ($7 sandwiches compared to $5 for a better product at Al Safa) and the sandwich is never consistent. The same guy never rolls it twice, and if you don't get a leb to roll that shit it'll collapse and fall apart on you. I've gotten sandwiches that were lumpy and collapsed from here, I've gotten sandwiches with beats, pickles, onions, tahina, toum, and without all of the above as well. It's like nobody rolling wraps knows wtf to do and is just making up the menu as they go along. Mezze are ok. The rotisserie chicken with toum (garlic aioli), pickles and rice and 2 sides is an inexpensive and healthy take-out meal for a family of 4. I had a lot of their chicken and rice with hummus and baba growing up, and this hasn't changed a bit quality wise. Only the price has changed. Today the neighborhood has dozens of Middle Eastern options, including Lebanese food for cheaper (Al Safa, Mana'ouche) and often better. But Karam still holds down her corner with garlic fixes at odd hours and in all conditions. I expect Karam to sill be slinging white sauce when I'm growing old. read more

Occasionally we make the trek out to the Century 21 on 86th Street in Brooklyn (less crowded and better shoe selection than the Manhattan location). We're always left puzzling over where to eat. Recently, a coworker suggested this Lebanese joint (his wife is Lebanese and he raved about the place), so we decided to check it out. Personally, I thought the food was decent. I consider myself a connoisseur of hummus, and their hummus was surprisingly tasty (nice and garlicky), though the falafel left a lot to be desired -- kind of dried out and flavorless. Overall, the place is a hole in the wall (not to knock holes in the wall -- some of the best places I've eaten at have been holes in the wall), but will satisfy your cravings if you happen to find yourself in Bay Ridge and jonesing for some Middle Eastern grub. read more
