I really like this place! The food tastes exactly like it did in Lebanon. The service isn't all that great because they don't speak English well, and at times it gets crowded, but its worth the wait for good food at a cheap price. Most of the food here is good and I don't have a lot of complaints. My issue is with the outrageous prices and lack of customer service. For the amount they charge, Karam should have friendly staff and at least enough room to comfortably fit a crowd. Unfortunately, they have neither of these things. I always leave feeling ripped off and a little annoyed by the guys behind the counter. But i like the food so I come back when i don't feel like cooking at home or am nearby. So I initially had a rave review based solely​ on my seamless order. I was so impressed with the food, portion size, ​and the speedy service. Unfortunately, I had an in-store​ experience that has left me a little less enthused​ about ordering again. On seamless​ I ordered the falafel combo with rice and a side of tahini and garlic paste. The hummus and babaganoush were just okay but the combination of everything is what brought the dish together. Unlike other bay ridge places, the side sauces are real sides and worth the extra buck (someplace​ who will not be named yet charge $1.50 for a quarter of the size). I'm a condiment​ connoisseur​ so this is important to me. I was very happy with my order and felt like I​ ordered a feast that was legit and delish. Unfortunately, the customer​ service provided​​ for my in-store purchase was subpar. When I was in the store, I was not asked if I wanted rice or salad and there was nothing on the menu giving you options. I ordered what I previously ordered online which was a falafel combo and figured it came with rice. When I got home, I saw my food and I realized the combo they gave me was with salad and not rice (who the F is paying $15 for falafel balls and salad). I was starving, disappointed and 20 minutes away so I called to see if I could have the rice delivered. The customer service was horrible. When I explained​ the situation, the person on the phone asked for my address, once I​ gave it to him he tells me that it will be an hour. I really wanted the rice so I​ said that I​ was willing to wait (and in my head, tip). Apparently​,​​ he was calling my bluff because suddenly​ he hesitated​ and told me he didn't think the delivery guy would want to do that. Not sure who's​ running the show if delivery guys are calling​ the shots. I spent in store what the minimum is for delivery and I had already given my address. So not only were they not going to deliver​ what I asked for but now I'm feeling weird about giving my address and annoyed that they would even ask if they were not going to deliver. Not wanting spit in my food, I explained that if this was an issue, then forget it. This was my new go-to​ but now if I order again it will be through seamless to assure there is no confusion. Check your food before you leave. I'm taking away 3 stars for this experience. Maybe third time is a charm but it will be awhile before that happens. read more

They don't need to because they're going to get a lot of business anyway, based on the large volume of foot traffic in the area. Karam, however, is a fantastic spot for Middle Eastern food. Their shwarma is legendary - I believe they were rated #1 in NYC in a Daily News poll some years back for the best shwarma. The only down sides are no room to sit and no place to park. This use to be our favorite spot a few years back. Decided to go there for early dinner. The place was still just the same. Clean and quick service. Helpful staff. But the flavors have changed. We got one chicken shawarma sandwich and two lamb shawarma sandwich with a side of babaganoush. The lamb shawarma was good but the chicken sandwich tasted very bland despite having requested extra spicy and the babaganoush was very very bland. We will probably be sticking with Duzan for our gyros sandwiches. read more

So I was eager to review this place after coming here for a number of years. I live not too far from this great Middle-Eastern joint. One of my friends introducted me to Karam and I love the food there; no complaints about it. Everything there is really good and this was also the place where I developed my love for middle-eastern food. Karam was featured in some magazine for one of the best middle-eastern joints in NYC and I would totally agree with that review. You have to try the Shwarma there, its really big and once you eat it, you will be full for a good 5 hours. They say the best advertising is word-of-mouth and I have definetly been spreading the word about this place to anyone who decides to get a good place to eat in Bay Ridge. There was a long line behind me so I decided to just go for a chicken shawarma and some sides, and my wife got a falafel sandwich. Now...I don't like chicken shawarma, there's often too much stuff inside and not enough chicken, I'm usually disappointed with what is normally a second rate chicken sandwich. Stopped in to pick up a sandwich based on a friend's glowing recommendation. The place itself is nothing fancy- just a deli/to- go place. I would never have noticed it if she hadn't made me swear to stop in. I was feeling cranky and indecisive, and ordered a chicken shwarma wrap to go. Was not expecting much, but took a bite when I got home and WOW. No joke, this is the best chicken shwarma I've ever had! They put some kind of a white sauce on that is PACKED with garlic and spices. It was akin to Spongebob doing twirls of ceaseless joy. The Chicken Shish Tawook is some of the best I have ever had in my life - it's definitely in the top three of Arabic/Lebanese food experiences. The Garlic Sauce is the real deal - none of that yogurt-y or mayo-ey stuff. The garlic yogurt side is also to die for. I'm sure there's plenty of places like this in Bay Ridge and Steinway. This is the hidden gem in Brooklyn, it's a small shop that if you walk to fast can miss it. The food is flavorful, seasoned with fresh ingredients. I had the chicken shawrama which was amazing. This puts rollup was beyond filling, the meat was grilled perfectly and the yogurt sauce was the right amount. That first bite was beyond words, I could taste each ingredient and how each flavor complimented the parsley, chicken, sauce and pita which was soft and slightly crunching on the outside. Karam is simply the very bestin nyc if you love chicken shawarma. I have been coming here for years and every time I go I am reminded why I love it so. Every bite is full of distinct and different flavors. This is not like a shawarma cart where you will find greasy chicken, lettuce and tomato, white sauce and maybe hot sauce. Karam does Shawarma right. There sandwich is stuff packed - but not overly so- with fresh flavors. Just thinking about it makes me want to have once.
