Terrible customer service. Not first time 3rd time. Hv to wait so long. Place an order over the phone when I got there they told me I had to wait a few minutes. I waited about 15 minutes, When I went inside again they told me the food it will take the more longer. In anger I wait another 10 minutes when I went inside they told me it will take longer come back and pick up later. WTF!! Come bak n pick up later?? read more

We used these guys for our wedding and were not disappointed. The prices are certainly on the higher end when compared to some of the other places, but Mr. Akmal definitely delivered as he had promised. He even surprised us with an extra dish as an appetizer, which was a nice touch. Also, the food servers that he sent us were super polite, very professional, and knew what they were doing. Excellent and fresh Kabobs and Buffet. We normally order barbecued chicken and chapli/seekh kabobs and every time the food is delicious and delicious. Unlike other restaurants around, the owner is very honest and generous - no greasy older recooked food.We never goat bloated feeling after eating this restaurant's food (you cannot say that about others desi restaurants selling days old food). During the eat in, you can pretty much get any sides (Halva, Chicken/Beef curry etc). Oh! Pakoras and Samasos are in the buffet - really yummy. Once you are done with the food, do not forget to top off with Kashmiri Pink Chai (tea). My kids and anyone we took with us, loved the tea. The restaurant may not appear fancy like others, but it is best at its food. We highly recommend trying Karahi Kabob. Whenever we have bunch of friends over, we order larger size quantities of various menu items and the prices are very good. read more

My hotel hired Akmal to do outside catering for an Indian dinner party. He told me they would be arriving at 5:00pm on Saturday for food to set up and ready to go for event starting at 7:00pm. After many phone calls back and forth and him telling me they would be there any minute, the guy arrived at 7:20pm (20 minutes after guests arrived and party started)! You can imagine my embarrassment to be setting up food in front of the guests and they didn't get food until 7:45pm when event started at 7:00pm. When I spoke to the delivery guy, he said he doesn't work for that caterer, he was helping friend and that it would've been impossible for him to show up any earlier, since he only left at 6:25pm!! After all of this, and my many phone calls, this guy Akmal didn't even give me the respect of a phone call or apology and I find it disgusting to do business that way. I am giving them two stars for the food but they will rip you off.. The sign says something and they charge you extra using lame excuses. The lamps are extremely bright if you go there for dinner at night. The place is dirty and the buffet food is very oily. I only come here for the kashmiri chai which is really good. I wouldnt recommend the restaurant to anyone. read more

Delayed food is something but lack of communication and not responding to customer calls is another. 4 hours delayed delivery on an Eid function without any communication is not tolerable. The food at Karahi Kabob appears simple, but the flavors have remarkable depth. Karahi Kabob is best known for its chicken & lamb kadai. A host of other goodies in the buffet including chick peas, samosas & other curries offer some thing the entire family can enjoy.The restaurant has under gone a renovation & the place is clean & tidy.The Owner Akmal is super friendly & he will go out of his way to get you the desired food. Karahi Kabob has been a staple for all my DC trips , try to squeeze in as many visits as possible. Very authentic tasting food and huge portions. The chicken kadai and Kabobs are mouth watering. The chicken kabob's tender & moist while packing a lot of flavors , the chops are seasoned as well & are divine . The chick peas' are out of the world , cannot stop eating them.I would definitely prefer Karahi Kaboob compared to Ravis & Kaboob Place.Over all a wonder full experience, highly recommend. read more

We were unsure about this place with the hit or miss experience of other reviewers, but decided to give it a shot, and so glad we did! The place was empty (around 7 p.m. on a Thursday) and we were greeted immediately, placed our order and then settled in. This is not a place you go for ambiance, but the food arrived quickly and everything was delicious! The chicken karahi was really good, bread was fantastic, and mixed kabobs were good too. We were also invited to help ourselves to sides from the buffet. There was a really good goat curry that everyone enjoyed. I will definitely go back. read more

Menu order items are pretty good as well as the naan. The ambiance and cleanliness in the restaurant isn't all that. The gentleman working tried his hardest to make sure we were ok. So decent food with good customer service is a win for me. Oh and PS, try to have a neatly laid out menu vs the hand written. read more

I work in Arlington not far from Ballston metro where a lot of food trucks congregate during lunch time, so more often than not, that's where I go to grab some food. I also love kabob, curries and the like, and whenever a truck carrying this type of fare shows up I make sure to sample their offerings. These guys are the best I have encountered there recently, their food is delicious as well as plentiful - I've had butter chicken that came with rice, 2 sides (steamed vegetables and chick peas), a side salad (the salad was ok, but hey, you do need Some fiber with a meal like this), and naan bread that was also really good, a rarity when it comes to food trucks. Will definitely try other things on their menu (provided they keep coming to Ballston, of course). read more

We selected this restaurant to do catering for out wedding and it was the best choice we ever made! The food was fantastic and blew everyone in attendance away. The food is just as good catered as it is in the restaurant and now we are regulars and go to eat there all the time. I took my wife for lunch buffet,the place is very dirty and uncomfortable to eat.Most of the dishes were very oily and didn't like it.Again,following week ,in a hurry ordered a chicken biryani and it was priced on their printed menu for $ 5.99 and when I went to pick up he charged me $ 11 plus.When I asked him ,he said they were old prices and have not been updated.I will never step in this place for anything. read more
