My husband and I went here the other day. The service was good and they filled our orders very quickly. We got a decent amount of food for the price. The food was okay, there was nothing "wow" about it. I got the falafel platter and my husband got the chicken. The falafel was dry in my opinion, the saving grace was the sauce and hummus they put on top. My salad with the same sauce was great. The fries were good, a bit salty, but good. The rice was okay as well. The nan bread was good! We would go back but would probably try something different.

Halal guys who? Haha I used to be a big fan of them, but I kept asking myself why. It lacked a lot of flavor, but I probably liked it for it's quick service. Anywho! BIG RED HALAL IS SOOOOO PACKED WITH SEASONING, and their sauces that you can throw on top are so good, I wanted more. The white, Cilantro, and red sweet chili is what I opted for in mines. For the price here vs. Halal guys... you don't get more than 3 toppings without additional charges. Also they gave me someone else's order yesterday. I had ordered the chicken over rice platter and you get a choice of one side( chickpeas was mines) cucumbers, tomatoes, and cranberries. Instead I got lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. It wasn't a game changer, but I wish I got what I asked for. Also there was a LONG WAIT TIME, considering there was only 5 of us there with three workers, the order took almost 20 minutes to make. Now I know order ahead of time... other than that I was super happy with the overall taste and quality of the food. I will make sure to check my food before leaving next time. *I did find two pieces of men's hair in my good, I'm usually old about things like this...but I was hungry and just pushed a quarter of my food into the trash*

Super greasy Chicken Quesadilla

Ordered chicken quesadilla to go and opened the box and it was so greasy and nasty looking, it went straight into trash.

Local gem for chicken and rice! The food is absolutely delicious and doesn't disappoint. I also tried their chicken loaded fries (masala fries) with the sauce which is absolutely fantastic. It is a very small location with two tables inside so it is more of a takeout spot for anyone that is looking for ambiance and appeal. Parking is directly in front with ample space. The service is fast and they happen to be busy when I arrived but my order was done quickly and in friendly manner. Looking forward to returning to try other dishes.

Big Red Halal is a hidden gem off of I-95 that was a pleasant surprise to find. The meat was very fresh and the sauces just popped - each distinctively. I think it brings a lot more personality to the table than Halal Guys or a similar chain because this one has more unique sides that hints at what the cuisine really is and not just a fast food alternative. The service is quite amazing here as well as you'll be greeted with a big smile and great hospitality from the staff.

I love when I finally make it out to try a food spot and it is as good, or sometimes even better than you imagined it would be. My visit to Big Red Halal was one of those times. The customer service and the food was actually better than I had imagined it would be and I was already thinking it was going to be good, which is why they were on my foodie to-do list. When I first entered the door, I was given a friendly greeting and I told the gentleman that it was my first time dining at his establishment. He was more than happy to explain all the different menu options that they had and I ended up ordering a Combo Rice Platter with Gyro (Lamb) and Chicken. I selected Chickpeas as my side. I got their White Sauce on top. I also was curious about their Cilantro sauce so I had that on the side, as well. Everything tasted fresh on this platter. Every ingredients' flavor complemented each other in the best way. The small side of Feta Cheese, Olives, and Cucumbers really accented everything for me. The rice wasn't dried out like some places make it...it was cooked to perfection. I also loved that they gave enough protein/meat and White Sauce to be able to truly enjoy the whole platter. And that Cilantro Sauce was delicious as well. All of the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful and the cleanliness was up to par to what I expect from a well run food establishment. I most definitely will be back. 10 out of 10...Five Stars!

I went back on 16 Dec, and noticed the owner/manager was back behind the counter and everything was back in order. Food was good like before Chicken was plentiful like before Bread was slightly toasted and not burnt like before I actually end up showing the owner/manager the pics of the burnt bread from my previous visit while he was ringing up the food. He was extremely apologetic, which was welcoming to have a nice conversation about my experience. All in all, the food was back to the standard that kept me coming back. I will be returning!

So, I had to stop eating my food to make this review. So you know this is going to be good! This was my first time here, so I went ahead and go the "Combo Rice" which includes their chicken and lamb gyro. After opening up my takeout, you can smell the aroma hit you and right away you'll know this will be good. The chicken and lamb gyro is delicious, and with the chick pea and spinach mixed in together, this makes the perfect combo. They are very generous with their portions as well, you get a good amount of chicken and chunks of lamb! I think I just found a new spot that will replace Halal Guys for a while. As for the staff, everyone was incredibly friendly and respectful! They were all following Covid-19 protocols and kept the place clean. I will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!

Here's why: - Quality: every item was fresh, and the falafel was not dry! I usually don't opt for falafel bc of how dry it is, but this one really wasn't! It was filling but moist and delicious. Also, the veggies and sauces paired well to give it flavor and texture. Again, usually not a fan of falafel, but I was this time. - Service: Food was pretty quick and the staff were really kind considering how busy the shop was. It took about 10 minutes to get the food. - Ambiance: This is a grab and go place. They have some high tables to quickly scarf down your meal or package your to go bag, but I suggest walking around Georgetown area to eat your food elsewhere. I will absolutely visit again and bring vegetarian friends. Such a bang for your buck!

I feel bad writing this but I believe Writing Authentic and honest review may inspire the owner to level up his food . That said, the food quality did not meet expectations. The falafel was overly firm and dry. The Greek salad lacked freshness--the lettuce appeared past its prime, and the tomatoes were soft and aging. Overall, it felt like a basic tossed salad with feta rather than a well-composed dish. The hummus had a smooth texture, but the flavor suggested a blended oil rather than a clean extra virgin olive oil profile. The pita was the strongest element of the meal--fresh and well prepared. Additionally, the use of styrofoam containers detracted from the overall experience. In summary, while the service at closing was considerate, the food did not reflect what I would consider high-quality or authentic Greek cuisine. .

It's accessible with plenty of parking nearby, including several disabled parking spots right out front, is absolutely beautiful inside with stunning black-and-white tiles adorning the counter (where you can order -- although there is also a screen-type ordering system in the entryway, as well) wall, enticing photos of all the important things in life -- those being fresh figs, olives, spices, and unfiltered coffee being poured, all along the wall above the tables with most comfortable seating! There are Turkish plates and copper pots hung above, as well, to give a splendid feeling of how food can be heartily prepared and beautifully served -- and beautifully served it is here! The caffeine-free mint tea comes in a gorgeous metal pot and is drunk from a glass glass (meaning a glass made of glass, not ceramic) with eye-catching decorations that will help to bring you into the spirit of the meal you are about to have .... The Quinoa Tabouli Salad with Falafel is spectacular! It's standout amazing, delicious, refreshingly oh-so-fresh, crispy, crunchy, yummy -- how many good-to-great things can I say about it? If I keep complimenting it as much as it deserves, you might get bored, ha ha! You might think that I'm exaggerating. I'm not. Of course, it's possible I'm biased and have tastes that just happen to align with this particular falafel spot's way of preparing things -- but I think not! I think this is objectively over-the-top in greatness! The District Salad is equally splendiferous and worth your time to indulge in savouring every bite. There are so many great-looking things here I can't wait to try! I must taste the Shorbat Adas (puréed lentil soup), (non-quinoa) Tabouli, Toom, and many other things here! The variety is very wowing! Most places just don't give you this variety in terms of various dishes or the variety within each dish that this place does -- and that contributes greatly to not only your appetite but also your health. So much care is clearly put into everything here from the décor to the drinks to the hospitality. It's really like a mini, super-tasty trip to the Near East -- and welcomes everyone equally. I'm so glad I stopped in! I can't wait to go back! Highly recommended! Very much deserving of an absolute, all-around Yay! :-D (By the way, from a not-falafel fan I know: 'You know I'm not a fan of falafel, but that was really good -- everything! We need not ever go back to the other place -- even if it's free!' What better endorsement could there be?)
