I was there with my husband last week. We ordered biryani and nihari and haleem. You can just tell by looking at the food that the food was not fresh. Haleem was reheated many times that it was super dark brown. Biryani rice were also reheated by ghee or oil that they were so hard. Meat was also very hard to chew. The same case was with nihari. We couldn't even finish the food and left hungry. On our way home, my husband started getting heart burn by the food and I didn't think of anything but after few hours myself had the same issue as extreme acid reflux that I made myself throw up to make myself better. HORRIBLE experience!!!! TL;DR they catered a family wedding, were HORRENDOUS people, were SHADY about their pricing, FORGOT dishes, and HARASSED family members at the end. Recently catered a wedding through them and it was an AWFUL experience. They were incredibly rude and demeaning, especially towards women. We signed a contract and submitted a deposit at our own insistence to ensure service. The owner Akmal insisted that he would be there personally to handle everything, then he went to Pakistan two weeks before the wedding. His son Muhammad and daughter lied and said he was in Florida and that he'd be back in time to manage the wedding (he was not back obviously, he literally went to Pakistan). They lied and said the price of everything doubled ONE week before the wedding because of their overhead costs, so we ended up paying double some costs because they were so pushy about it and threatened not to honor our contract. They initially said delivery would be $200 and then changed it last minute to $400, and justified this by saying they used a truck emoji which made zero sense. At the wedding itself, they forgot to put out dishes!!!! They forgot our only vegetarian appetizer, so the few vegetarians at the wedding had NOTHING to eat for the first 45 minutes until we noticed and told them they had to put out all the food. THEN they forgot a whole dessert item as well!!!! The end of the wedding came around and the weddings coordinators wrote a check for the whole invoice--the whole price of the food, tax, including $150 per server, an additional service charge, and gratuity. THEN the owner's son Muhammad came around and started HARASSING all of the family members for MORE money!!!!!!!! He went up to every uncle and the mother of the bride and the groom himself and insisting that he needed more money for a tip when gratuity was ALREADY included... DURING THE WEDDING!!!! Finally, they were supposed to pack all the food for the families to take home... They TOOK IT ALL WITH THEM. They literally took all the food home after harassing everyone at the wedding and probably served leftovers at their crappy restaurant the next day. in short, NEVER EVER CATER FROM HERE. NEVER EAT HERE. They are awful human beings and the food wasn't even good. Absolutely would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. read more

I stumbled upon this restaurant. Ordered the malai chicken kabob it was so soft and tasty came with this yummy rice, channa and a naan. I was getting it to go but had to sit down and taste it. One bite to next i had devoured 1/2 my to go box! So I went back for more. Its Eid so they were very busy with lots of large orders. I got their daily special. Fast-casual counter-service restaurant which is very typical in Northern Virginia. They will bring your order out to your table. You pick up plastic utensils located on a table to the side. I really love karahi and just need my fix every now and then. (They also have buffet at certain times of day, call to ask for the time, I didn't do the buffet here because it's not really my thing) Lamb Karahi: This is generously sized just right for two people. Comes with several pieces of flatbread. The meat is bone-in, juicy, flavorful, on par with a lot of other Northern Virginia kabob places. You can specify which spicy level you want - we went for medium and I feel like I could have gone for something spicier. I felt quite full sharing this order with one other person. I see a lot of Yelp complaints regarding catering and price discrepancies. I can't really comment on those, but if you literally just want to walk in and order for dine-in service, or use the buffet, I don't see how you can be ripped off. If I could, I'd give them minus points. A few days before eid, we went and placed a large order for a family gathering of 20 people. As many of you can imagine, it wasn't cheap. We ordered kabab, biryani and karahi per the management's suggestion along with naan. We later added 2 veggie options to accommodate more people coming. We paid extra for delivery and on the day of eid get together, got our food delivered in subpar condition (dripping, dirty on the outside) but chalked it off to the delivery and not the restaurant. Bringing the food in, I could smell spoiled biryani but with the guests arriving, I went ahead and placed it ready for tj to be served. With a total of 30 people when I opened the food, it smelled so spoiled and bad. We paid $500 for this food, which came spoiled. I was so embarrassed and my husband called the management and restaurant endlessly to ask them what happened and if they could correct the order. We didn't eant the money back, just didn't want to be embarrassed in front of hungry guests. We ended up ordering pizza because the food was not edible. We called the restaurant during the following days, with no response. An apology would have done it but I would NEVER RECOMMEND THEM. Horrible service. Recently Karahi Kabob jumped their price almost double for all items and reduced the quantity making it 2 way profit increasing. It is true increasing price is an easy way to improve profitability but reduced customer meaning loosing business. If you are looking for short term business goal and planning to close the business soon then it is a fantastic strategy. MOVING FORWARD, I WILL ONLY EAT INDIAN/PAKISTANI CHICKEN KABOBS. It came out this gorgeous fluorescent red-orange hue and tasted amazing. I appreciated how tender and well-seasoned the meat was. And the accompanying side of chickpeas was also fantastic. Their naan is fluffy and crisp on the outside. Karahi kabob is a casual, counter service spot, but it still seemed very comfortable and not as hole-in-the-wall as some other similar establishments. I have nothing against businesses that don't put a lot into atmosphere or decor, but karahi kabob does make the customer experience all the more enjoyable thanks to its overall cleanliness and music and decor that take you to the Indian subcontinent. When i placed an order through doordash and the driver was already there waiting they had to cancel it because they wont take doordash orders anymore. He couldn't tell me once the order came in 10 min but no he had wasted my time waiting for the food which never came tells me 2 hours later placed an order 5:30 got told at 7:45pm we cant deliver. When I arrived, the place was empty except for 1 table with 2 men at it. They recognized me when I said I placed a phone order, and immediately got my rice off of their buffet and packed it up for me and set it aside. My kids and I waited an additional 20 minutes for the Butter Chicken that they OBVIOUSLY forgot to tell the kitchen about. No one said a word to us about it. No apologies or explanations or discounts. My kids food (in the car) was cold by the time we received our order, as was the rice. $40 for 2 half servings of Butter Chicken and an order of rice and TERRIBLE service. Ridiculous. read more

Hands down the best Kabob in Springfield. My go to place if I don't feel like driving all the way out to Kabob Palace in Crystal City. Some may wonder is it better than Kabob Palace? IMHO they are both equally tasty its just a different taste. I have been here twice. The first time ordering the queen kabob combo to go. This consists of boneless chicken and a ground beef roll (kubideh??), salad, rice, chick peas, and naan. So I went in and the first thing that hits you is the hypnotizing smell of authentic deliciousness. I notice they have a buffet and as tempted as I wanted to sit down for the buffet I had a van of kids and wife waiting for me as they did not want kabob and had already ordered thai next door. I proceeded to order, and the nice gentleman said it would be approx 10 min. I said okay no prob ill wait in the van outside with the kids and be back. Let me tell you how awesome this guy is. He says, I will bring it out to you when its finished. Then also added.. "Here take and try some of this buffet out to the kids". He gives me a plate of a few samples off the buffet. Im thinkin this place already awesome and I haven't even tried anything. Kids loved the samples minus some spicy things. As promised while in the van the gentleman comes out and hands me my order curbside. Went home and as suspected everything in the queen kabob was delicious. I had finally found my Kabob place in Springfield right near home. The second time I went here for the buffet and just as consistent with my first experience all the food was great. As far as decor and ambiance goes this place is lacking. But we come here for the food right? The buffet is kind of similar to Kabob Palace with a few more options. Unfortunately however the place is not that clean and really needs more attention to cleaning. The fact that the store was not that clean really made it hard for me to eat here. The buffet was also not that good. The food was okay. One problem with the bread was it had a strong yeast flavor in it. If this place was cleaned and the heat lamps for the buffet were hotter then I would think this would move up two stars. Overall I really did not like this place and won't return. I've only been here once and have only had the Queens Combo (chicken and kofta) but damn that was the best and moistest chicken kabob I've ever had. The kofta was pretty good too but the chicken is what blew me away. I tend to stick with lamb and/or kofta (I guess kubideh at Persian places) because chicken kabobs always tend to be on the dry side. Flame kabob (down the street and also good) had just turned me back on to giving chicken a chance. Flame kabob has a more Middle Eastern taste (and brown rice) while Karahi has a more Indian/Pakistani taste (and saffron rice) My friend got the buffet and ate a few plates while I was waiting for my food. I was starting to regret my decision....until my food came out. Gave my friend a taste and he regretted his. Btw the buffet seems like a good enough deal just not the entrees that interest me. The guy behind the counter (server/busboy/cashier/possibly the owner) recommended I call ahead next time as it did take a while to prepare. Karahi Kaboob is one of a kind! This place was recommended to my boyfriend and I by a friend and we are so happy we checked it out! They have a variety of side dishes to chose from and all their food is made fresh to order and worth the wait. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant has a mom and pop feel to it. We ordered the Chicken Karahi spicy (full order) the flavoring was perfect. With our meal they gave us two pieces of naan and we ordered chick peas, potatoes, and samosas. All of our sides were also very good. We did not eat in the restaurant, we placed our order over the phone b/c we both were not feeling well but I would recommend this place for takeout or dine in. It took about 20-25 minutes for our food to be ready. They packaged everything well and even wrapped it in silicone wrap to make sure we would have no spills. Disclaimer: I've been cutting down on meats so all I had was the buffet items with rice and naan. I do love Karahi and it was tempting to see my buddies eating their dishes but I managed to taste the sauce and it was delish. Flavor on the buffet items were very good and although it lacks atmosphere and very little service, the gentleman behind the counter was very pleasant, friendly and the food was good, which is the point, right?
