Interior - Spacious interior of Dera restaurant featuring multiple tables, decorative wall panels, and a service counter with utensils and supplies.

What a beautiful restaurant, and the staff is very friendly. My meal was incredibly delicious. The butter chicken was the best I've ever tasted, and the bread was so fresh and perfect for dipping. Leave room for dessert! I had Mango Lassi and Kheer (rice pudding). Yummy! And be sure to check out their dessert/bakery bar.

Chapli Kabob - A sizzling hot plate features grilled meat garnished with onions, tomatoes, and herbs, with side dishes and salad visible in the background.

Really love this restaurant I come here all the time. Great service, great food. Everything about this restaurant is just amazing. Would most definitely recommend.

Extra Hidden Charge Doesn't Add Up! - A crumpled paper receipt from Dera Restaurant in Springfield, VA, listing a Dera Supreme Platter order, subtotal, tax, total, and payment method.

Disappointed by Hidden Fees - Unethical Practice The food here is decent, on par with other Pakistani restaurants--nothing extraordinary. I've ordered from this place multiple times but never felt compelled to leave a review until now. However, the hidden credit card fees have pushed me to speak up. The restaurant passes the entire transaction fee onto customers without disclosing it upfront--it doesn't even appear on the receipt. Isn't this deceptive? Restaurants are already highly profitable businesses, and with prices having nearly doubled everywhere (including here), it's not like they're struggling to cover operational costs. Yet, customers are expected to pay for the food, tax, employee gratuity, and now even the credit card processing fees--while the owner pockets pure profit. What a clever way to exploit the community! In all my travels across different states, I've never seen a restaurant pull this kind of trick--let alone hide the charge. Transparency matters, and this feels like a blatant rip-off.

This wonderfully decorated business has been there for 35 years. They must be doing something right. The service was very professional. I ordered the ground beef Kebab that came with rice and a salad and non-bread. My husband had the mixed dish plate which came with chicken, lamb and beef kebabs when I think Bob's I think of meat on a stick as per their menu. But it wasn't like that it was still delicious though. I gave the rice to my husband who said he liked it. I found the ground beef kebab, well seasoned good portion, size and very juicy. The Nanbread was very big a little dry but it was good. It's Brad. My husband said he enjoyed his meal as well. I carried part of it home, because I thought it would make a really good base for a Bolognese because of all the great seasoning and I was right.

Where's the filling? - A piece of naan bread is held above a decorative plate with a small container of sauce, likely served at a restaurant.

Keena naan and there's no filling inside, how? This is such a disappointment. Literally where is the filling?!

Kebab - A hot cast iron skillet with grilled meat, topped with sliced onions and cilantro, placed on a wooden serving board on a marble table.

Place has changed quite a bit, but I still come here with my family every once in a while. Food quality is very good but the spice levels on certain dishes are ridiculously high and it's like eating peppers instead of tasting flavors lol. I recommend coming on weekends for the buffet, you get to try more! Dining has gotten larger, great for gatherings. Service is decent.

I had lunch here and was very satisfied! The interior is beautiful and it's very spacious and very clean and so were the restrooms! Service was was great ( servers maybe a tad nervous) but were super friendly and respectful. The order taker listened and gave their recommendations. I ordered chicken briyani which very tasty not to spicy! Seekh kabob served with naan and side order of chicken peas and white rice. Also before they served the meal we got salad and the mint chaatney was tasty! They also have sweet traditional kiosk of Pakistani sweets! My favorite Gulab Janam! A healthy and happy family oriented place! Highly recommended!!

Would not recommend. Not a clean place. Food was okay but dishes were not clean and the place itself needs a lot of improvements.

Got a to-go order - quick service upon arrival as usual. The butter chicken here is my favorite in the Nova area!

My go to is the #4 with mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapeños, and gruyere added with an order of sweet potato fries and bottled water. Nowadays, cost efficiency and quality are definitely at the top of everyone's minds and for under $20, you get a well seasoned and fresh meal. Truly can't beat it and love that everything is freshly made. I've also had the regular burger and other chicken sandwich offered with butter chicken sauce and love it. I do wish they were open later, but that is minor. Service is always good and if there is a game on, you'll be able to watch it from almost any table.

She did end up getting a burger and thought it was pretty decent. I went with a spicy chicken sandwich and left pleasantly surprised. The gentleman at the register provided advice on spiciness and helped us understand our options. The place is pretty roomy and had plenty of seating available. I was also surprised at the fact they had a full bar available, we did not take advantage of that this time, but might be back to see what kind of happy hour they offer. Overall, a decent drop in experience. Very convenient if you are headed to Home Depot, Staples, or pure Hockey.

This was my first experience at a Yemeni restaurant, and it turned out to be an incredibly pleasant and flavorful introduction. We were served half a lamb, head included, laid beautifully on a large platter of rice. But first, the restaurant itself. It was refreshing to see a place that uses real cutlery, proper plates, and actual tablecloths. I much prefer tables and chairs over booths, which often give off a fast-food chain vibe. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, though there was some drilling and repair work going on--likely related to safety or exit signage--so that's understandable. Now to the food. The rice was fluffy and deeply infused with flavor from the lamb, clearly absorbing the richness of the long, slow cooking process. The broth had rippled into the rice, creating an incredible depth of taste. If you've had biryani, this was somewhat similar, but with its own distinct character. The lamb itself was exceptionally tender--falling off the bone and melting in the mouth. For anyone who usually avoids lamb due to its strong aroma, this dish is a must-try; there was no overpowering "lamb smell" at all. The meal was accompanied by a fresh salad and two side sauces--one tomato-based and another green sauce that was extremely spicy, so proceed with caution. The mint lemonade deserves a special mention: easily the best I've had. Not overly sweet, clearly made from fresh ingredients, and perfectly balanced. We ended the meal with tea and a warm dessert that was buttery, comforting, and topped with cream--an excellent finale. This was a completely new culinary experience for me, and I left the restaurant feeling like my palate had leveled up. Highly recommended--definitely a place worth checking out
