I go here at least once a month and I live in PG COUNTY. I love the lamb dishes! The garlic naan, fried chicken chili momos. The drinks are good and the menu is reasonably priced. The staff is great. The place is always clean. read more

Listen: I feel tempted to gatekeep this place but I'm feeling generous today. Easily one of the best Indian food establishments in the area. Extra points for the buffet offerings: delicious! read more

Great lunch buffet. Yummy hot garlic naan. Chicken dishes yummy. Spinach veggie very tasty Rice pudding dessert nice finish. Will be back. Good deal. Friendly staff. Quick service read more

They gave me two options that can be made no onion, no garlic and I ordered both: Bhindi Masala Butter paneer - wish there weee more paneer but otherwise Avery good. Appreciate the accommodations made. Good ambiance if you're dining in. I did get a headache after eating - usually a garlic and onion effect for me. read more

The buffet wasn't a ton of options but we enjoyed what was on there, including the butter chicken, naan, and tandoori chicken. In a time when buffets are disappearing, good to know that this one exists! read more

It was okay, nothing special which is unfortunate since I brought my family here for my birthday dinner based on the reviews. Some of the dishes were good, like the goat curry but the mutter paneer, the kofta, and the goan fish curry were all in the exact same cream sauce. Very unimaginative. We will not be back read more

This is honestly such a little gem in a shopping area in Alexandria. Plenty of parking. Came here for dinner and we were able to get seated with two people fairly quickly. Lots of tables for when it is crowded. Service was very attentive and friendly! The food was absolutely delicious - not too spicy for me (I'm sensitive). My friend wasn't sure but on the second bite the flavor kicked in for her - she enjoys spicy. I will definitely be back to eat here again - this may be my new favorite Indian place. read more

I really wanted to love Namaste. I ordered delivery from Namaste one night because I was craving Indian food. It was the closest and highest-rated place that could be delivered within a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Goat Curry, Samosas, Lamb Korma, and the Aloo Gobhi. Everything was just meh or pretty bad in my opinion. The Goat Curry and the Aloo Gobhi, and Samosas were the best of the bunch. I thought the Butter Chicken was the worst version I've had. the Lamb Korma was nearly unrecognizable and tasted like straight sweet cream with a little spice. Very strange. I will not be ordering from Namaste for my Indian fix ever again. read more

The more we order carryout from Namaste, the more they become our go-to for Indian in the Franconia/Springfield area. Some faves: samosa, samosa chaat, butter chicken, tandoori chicken or vegetables, garlic naan, lamb biryani, mango lassi (to which I like adding a shot or two of rum LOL). Our family likes heat, but last night all three of us found the medium spice level more than we'd anticipated. We'll keep notes the next few times we order to see how consistent their spice levels are. Staff here are lovely. Thanks, Namaste, for being a not-so-hidden gem in Rose Hill! read more

Visited with my parents and daughter on a weeknight. We were the only diners but steady stream of takeout. I noted my comments from 8 years ago and I feel like they still stand. I had the chicken vindaloo. It was ok. Spicy but not overwhelming. Ambiance is very outdated. Service was fine. Garlic naan ok but portion really small for price. Korma and tikka masala chicken were the other dishes ordered and consensus was good. read more

LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGY RISK If you or your children have a nut allergy, do not order from this restaurant. Allergens are not disclosed on the menu. I ordered the butter chicken and had a severe allergic reaction after a single bite. The manager confirmed the dish contained nuts, yet took no responsibility, showed no concern, and offered no corrective action. When I asked for a refund due to the medical danger, I was told to "take it up with DoorDash." Failing to disclose allergens is not a minor oversight--it is a serious food safety violation. The lack of accountability afterward makes this even more concerning. This restaurant is not safe for anyone with food allergies. read more

Unfortunately, this is one of the most over-rated Indian restaurants I've seen. I'm very surprised to read reviews over 3 stars; but, let still share my experience. The service - like the atmosphere of the place - was both dull and uninspiring. The staff never once checked on us and was unfriendly and could care less about us being there. It was noticeable. The atmosphere with their grey walls and dim light made it dark and dull, too. The food was way over priced. I ordered the tandoori paneer tika and for ~$10 it only had 3 pieces and that too was dry with little taste/flavor. Very disappointing. The malai kofta and dhaal makhani was not bad actually, but for ~$15 it was definitely not worth it. One thing I noticed was the lack of Indians at the Indian restaurant, which is telling of what Indians themselves think of the place. Overall and sadly to say this restaurant with its dull atmosphere, lack luster service, and high prices get 2.5/5. I'm still astonished by the positive reviews on here, it was most certainly not my experience or close to it; it sure if management has changed or what, but there are tons of other Indian restaurants and street type food places that are much better. read more

Hands down the best Indian food in the area. We DoorDash from here often and the food has been consistently great. I always request small pieces of chicken which also results in a better texture. There has been a few times when I forgot to put that request in and the chicken is just a bit tough. They can also adjust spice levels for their curry's which I love! Favorite combo has to be the spicy butter chicken with cheese naan. 10/10 - will stay in our monthly rotation. read more

I had the buffet at Namaste and this is the positive I can say about it . The service and atmosphere were excellent and the water and naan were very good. If this were my introduction to Indian cuisine I'd never eat it again. I sampled all food options on the buffet and they were extraordinarily bland and at times, completely off! It does appear the kitchen staff don't care about food quality they provide their customers. I don't know if the à la cart food is any better, however, I will never return to try it. This place is in desperate need to be on an episode of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares! read more

Top quality! small but always awesome lunch buffet. Wish they had combo platters with multiple dishes so non buffet times I would come.

I've been here once and ordered takeout 6 times and the food has always been on point. I highly recommend you check them out.

It's only my first time trying them and trying Chicken tikka Marsala but It was so yummy and creamy. 4.7 is more accurate. I did end up adding more salt but that's a personal preference. I asked for mild because I was scared medium might be too much but it wasn't spicy at all and will try medium next time. I'm glad I listened to the reviews because sweet butter chicken doesn't sit right with me but I will come back to give it a try anyways because I'm a sucker for butter chicken. The rice portion was ridiculously small for the amount of butter chicken I got. Luckily I always have naan and rice at home but for anyone who else, it's not enough rice! Overall, it was still better quality and price than other locations in the area read more

Short and sweet. The service was uninspired. I was doing take out so there wasn't much to observe there BUT when asking about different dishes, the waiter didn't seem to know how to communicate differences in preparation, etc. Im unsure if it was just a language barrier but that was the result. The food - I have NEVER had such bland Indian food in my life. I didn't know such a thing as bland Indian food was even possible. The samosas were...ok. The garlic naan was decent but the chicken tikka masala...no. Had zero taste. The chicken incredibly dry and the sauce watery. Not to mention my mango lassi was packaged in a sides container vs a cup so you have to wait until you get home to drink that. This was a one and done for me. read more

I came here for the lunch buffet. The service was ok, food was decent, but I felt the selection was lacking in terms of flavor and variety. The place itself looks ok too. Nothing super fancy but fine enough for a lunch buffet. If I were to come back it would have to be to more seasoned/flavorful food read more

We were the only ones in the restaurant, which was kind of sad because the food is pretty good. Lots of drivers were picking up online orders though. The pani puri was perfect and I liked the way they served it. The assorted platter had a good mix of chicken, lamb and vegetarian appetizers. The spring rolls were a bit soggy; they needed another few minutes of frying. I didn't try the aloo tikki because it was filled with paneer (I'm not a fan), but the chole that went with it was good. read more

This place was delicious. Portions were huge and I was able to get fast service while on break from work. I'll deff be bringing some home on the days I don't wanna cook. Creamy and flavorful curry. The garlic naan was hot and fresh and the chopped garlic all over it was **chef's kiss read more

Ordered takeouts for anniversary lunch. Because they had forgotten to put naans last two times, I reminded my husband to check for the bread. When he got home, I noticed one rice was missing and they double charged us on one dish. That's $17.99 + $2.99 for rice. My husband checked for the naans but didn't double check on other things. Sigh~ When I called to complain, the person who had taken the order told me that I wasn't telling the truth. I suppose he has lots of customers lying about things being missing. At the moment when the man flat out called me a liar, I wanted to drive over there for a full refund. I would've done it, but my kids were home from college and I didn't want to ruin the anniversary lunch. Honestly, the food wasn't even good. The Butter Chicken was OK. But, the Tikka Masala was SO terrible. It was more buttery than the Butter Chicken. Imagine! They charged me extra for terrible food. I wanted the manager to call me but no one did. I emailed them but no one responded. Bad food & really bad customer service. I'll never order from this restaurant again. read more

For as good as the reviews for this place were I was disappointed!! The inside of this place is very plain and not cozy. The food was missing a huge flavor factor and Indian food is normally full of flavor. The butter chicken was okay, definitely not as good as other renditions I have had. There were also some weird chewy pieces of chicken. The saag paneer was also super plain and gross. The spinach was way too mashed up and missing spices and salt. Definitely will not be back! read more

-ay I used to admire this restaurant simply because I worked previously at **Ambassador dining room restaurant in downtown Baltimore 21218 zip code?? Long ago. I feel that Namaste restaurant used to have fabulous almond Rogan josh and almond style cream curry since In 2021 I've ordered it two times. When I received my dish it was one to two days old one piece of Lamb was refrigerated and cold., So I was shocked and amazed, the temperature & textures were different. I found the yogurt RAITA? sauce was too sour. The staff otherwise, are calm and collected as I signed up two dollar tip because they gave me discretionary (15%) military discount; I do not recommend unless they are more honest with their customers as noted in this past July and August. Thank you for your patience in allowing me to write this review... sighing about my experience as a whole. read more

The worst Chicken Tikki Masala I have had; very bland and tasteless. I was truly disappointed. Nice service, but food was below par.

Food was decent. Prices a little high considering portions. They didn't include naan, which is crazy compared to every other restaurant we've tried having it. They skimp on the sauce, very stingy. read more

Authentic Indian food & so many options! They also have goat curry & goat biryani which is hard to find. Service was very attentive & friendly. We ordered for 3 to share the Lamb Rogan Josh, Lamb Madras & the Tandoori Vegetable Platter. Both lamb dishes looked very similar. The rogan Josh was tangy & the madras had a nice smooth texture, which was my favorite. Both dishes were very mild in spice. I loved the tandoori veggies platter. There were several veggies, 1 large piece of each, also a piece of tandoori paneer, plus dal in the center. It could easily be a full meal on its own. The paneer had a char from the grill that was oh so good. It was full of surprises including apple, and I would order this again! If you are vegetarian or vegan, there are so many options for you! If you have any other allergies, they are super attentive to that. read more

Ordered delivery from here for an early dinner. The palak chaat was really good. The spinach wasn't as crispy as I like but it was a large portion and the flavors were good. The chicken biryani has quite a bit of spice but again tasty and lots of food. Finally got the paneer makhani which was pretty sweet. It's also a lot of food but not a ton of paneer. There's a lot of sauce. Everything was kind of pricey but I'll be eating it for days so maybe it works out. read more

Namaste is fantastic! I've had lunch here twice recently and it's always been pretty empty so service is fast and food comes out quickly too. I was told there used to be a lunch buffet, but it seems they are no longer doing that. Lots of great vegetarian options of course - the paneer tikka masala comes in a fantastic sauce with lots of paneer. I'd highly recommend getting the naan basket - you get lots of naan (and a variety too) which pairs so well with the saucier dishes. The garlic naan is my favorite is if you don't want the whole basket, I'd recommend that. The palak chat is a great appetizer - the spinach comes out so crunchy, although it is served cold which surprised me a bit. We ordered it when we they had just opened for the day so I suppose it must be prepared earlier in the day or the previous day. Definitely will be back! read more

We came to enjoy dinner on a Saturday evening. We arrived relatively early at around 6 and the restaurant was relatively empty. But by the time we left it had mostly filled up. Namaste seems to do a lot of take out business and there was a continual stream of bags being brought to the front door for people to pick up. The decor is relatively Spartan. There are booths lining one side of the restaurant and a fair number of tables also. Each table is provided ample space for privacy-in some places the tables are crowded together. Not here. The staff were very attentive, providing us with menus very soon after we arrived. We were served our drinks and given an opportunity to enjoy these before the waitstaff brought the soup and appetizer. The Mulliagatawny Soup was very flavorful and satisfying on a chilly evening. The Masala Calamari was not particularly good. While the flavor and roasted veges were good, the calamari were deep fried and frankly, pretty greasy. For entrees, my wife ordered the seafood platter. This was nicely flavored and consisted of shrimp and salmon baked in the clay oven. The shrimp were tender as was the salmon. My prawn vindaloo was served with a generous portion of prawns in a spicy and flavorful sauce. The prawns were fresh and high quality. The basmati rice that accompanied my dish was flavorful and flaky, clearly made freshly to the order. Our garlic Naan was equally fresh. We finished our meal with my favorite Indian dessert Rasmalai. The yogurt was a bit firmer than I prefer and the flavor was just a bit sweeter than I like. Food 4-5*, Service 4-5*, decor and ambience 3-4*, value 4*. read more

Amazing sauces they serve here as for the curry and Chicken Masala. Probably one of the best I have had, unfortunately the meat was a bit dry and not to my expectations. The garlic naan, mango lassi, and desserts were also great. Loved everything else at this restaurant. Very friendly staff and great service. If you get the mixed grill keep in mind it is majority chicken and only one piece of meat for each other meat side. Great restaurant to eat at for the sauces!! The Gulab Jamun is a VERY sweet dessert but I personally really enjoyed it. It can be too sweet for many but I eat sweets all the time so I wasn't too phased. The kheer was also good. A nice refreshing and chill dessert! read more

Probably the worst chicken tikka masala I've ever eaten. Flavorless and watery. Garlic naan was fine. Wouldn't recommend.

We had a recommendation for Namaste and we're excited for some Indian takeout. I had the mixed grill which was very good, though only having one shrimp in there and a small piece of salmon made me think stick with the chicken or lamb alone if I want a grilled item. The chicken 65 was perfect, spicy and a little sweet, not too saucy. Chicken Tikka masala was nice, and the garlic naan was great. The cheese naan was ok, good bread, but you could miss that there's cheese in it. read more

Namaste is tucked away in the corner of Rose Hill shopping center. I've always ordered delivery from this place but this is the first time I've stopped in for lunch. They don't have their famous (I think!) lunch buffet anymore because of COVID but the food is still fantastic nonetheless. We were greeted and seated right away in a mostly empty and clean space. There were two other parties eating but we were also socially distanced. We started with the samosa, which came with 2 pieces. Very flavorful with ample sauces. I'm not sure what the sauces are but I always love using the green one (it's a minty fresh kind). We also shared a mango lassie that had a good balance of mango and yoghurt. The thickness was also good - a little less than a smoothie. Moving on to the entree of Chicken tikka masala which I shared with my friend - it was delicious and creamy and came with rice. I honestly love the cuts of tomato and green pepper in it which gives another layer of yum. We ordered one garlic naan that came cut up in quarters which we appreciated for sharing purposes. It was piping hot and had just the right amount of garlic. Overall, we loved our little lunch date! read more
