Food - ate here several times - everything we tried was excellent- very tasty, spices mild to hot, food was well presented, portions were large Service - the service is fast and efficient and the wait staff is very helpful with suggestions. Lots of takeout traffic. Located in Bradley Shopping Center- lots of Ambience- setup for takeout but you can eat in too- calming atmosphere with music. Great for lunch or dinners

Another visit to my now fav spot around the corner! Brought a collegue from work and the place was already busy at lunch time. I advised my american friend to try the masala dosa, i explained its like a large savory crepe. He got it mild and when it arrived he said you were not kidding its huge, everyone there, their eyes popped out and I told them it was masala dosa. He absolutely loved it, finished every morsel. I tried the paneer tikka masala it comes with fluffy white fragrant basmati rice, the paneer was so soft and the curry delicious, i was so hungry finished every morsel too! It's nice the resturant continues to be clean and welcoming.

I visited this restaurant with a friend since My friend is used to authentic foods and he said he really liked this restaurant. The food was really good. Too much to eat for me but they did give to go containers. Would probably visit again.

Spicelife is located in the Bradlee shopping center. As fast casual restaurant. When you walk in there is a tablet station for to go orders only. There is not a hostess to greet you. You order at the counter and pick your own seating. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the potato cakes. The potato cakes were served with two dipping sauces. The chicken tikka masala was served with rice. The flavor was on point and you can order according to the spice level that you prefer. I went with the medium spice level and I thought it was perfect.

This is a consistently amazing restaurant. Though a little informal, the food is vastly better (and much less expensive) than other "fancier" Indian restaurants in the area. We have been here several times, and have always had an exceptional experience. The restaurant is also very clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

This has got to be the best Indian restaurant I ever been to. My friends and I ordered several dishes to give a proper review and I was more than impressed. I understand it's not a fancy Indian restaurant like Rasika in DC but Spicelife is much better. The spices , flavor and spice level are all that you'd except and spice life gave it. I read previous reviews with less 5 star reviews and it appears they don't appreciate good true Indian spices and flavors. Don't sleep on this place. One bite might make your head bobble.

Ordered the lamb briyani for takeout. Flavors were good and the portions are very generous. I asked for medium spice and the spice level was perfect for me. Overall a good experience.

A friend wanted to checkout this new spot in the Bradlee shopping center. Open seating, you order first and get a number and wait for your food. They have no alcohol but other beverages The lamb & chicken skewers were delicious. Not too spicy. The portions were large, so to go boxes for all. This place is very popular and does a brisk takeout business. The restaurant is comfortable and well lit. They do not rush you to finish your meal.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -A good fast-casual Indian joint in the Bradlee Shopping Center. The missus and I on a whim went there at noon on a Saturday. Clean, plentiful seating, easy shopping center parking. Order at the counter; they bring your food to you. Food came quite quickly. She got the Alu Tikki Chat (mild) - $9. Ostensibly an appetizer, was really a meal itself. Didn't skimp on the potato or chick peas. Quite good, we both easily would order again. I got the ($13) gobi Manchurian (medium). Again, decent size amount of crispy fried cauliflower. A bit more heat than i expected - not painful, but definitely some mouth warmth. As also split a ($9) plain dosa - yuuuge. Quite good but next time we'd get a potato dosa or some other filling. Big plus: actual plates and metal silverware. Just under $35, before tip, and we got a stuffed amount of tasty food. A darn solid 4.5 fast-casual experience. We shall return.

Food was really delicious. Liked the basil leaves, the sauce was tangy and sweet and medium hot was enough for me. The worker there was nice and recommended some coconut curry for next time.

Although I have other favorite local spots for Indian food I decided to try SpiceLife this weekend and it did not disappoint! Food was amazing and there was so much for the price! I spent $21 and got a mango lassi and chicken bryiani. It was literally the best tasting bryiani of my life! I can't wait to go back! Plenty of leftovers and will have to order from Toast to pick up next time so I can portion it all better. Wow!!

Paneer tikka masala and butter naan.

I've had the paneer tikka masala, chicken tikka, chicken biryani, samosas, garlic and butter naan, mango lassi (so refreshing and perfectly made every time), etc. and every single thing has been delicious. The food is always flavorful, fresh and comforting. The service is amazing and the restaurant is beautiful. This is one of those places I keep coming back to and I'll happily continue doing so!

I ordered takeout thanks to a robust discount they were offering; though i would say that this just brought the price down to something fairly typical. The food I received was richly aromatic. A spice mix on top of my gigantic samosa chaat helped, but a ginger-heavy dal takda was I think the most deliciously spiced dish that I ordered. Getting some okra was a good decision as well, and their bread was delightfully flaky. It was filling food. Perhaps overly indulgent, as I poured off some oil. They threw in a rice pudding as well; I don't order Indian desserts often (and didn't on this occasion), but that was fine. The bar for Indian high is relatively high in Northern Virginia, but this place didn't make me regret trying it.

On our first visit, they were extremely busy and we didn't have a reservation, but the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating while we waited for a table. Megha, in particular, was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, she made us feel truly at home. She consistently checked on us, made sure everything was perfect, and provided some of the best service we've experienced. Since that first visit, we've already been back two more times -- twice for dinner and once for their Sunday brunch. Every single visit has been exceptional. The service is always outstanding, and the food never disappoints. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any dish on the menu, and their brunch is phenomenal. I do have to mention the Butter Chicken -- it's easily one of the best I've ever had. The garlic naan and rosemary naan are also incredible and such a unique touch. What makes this place even more special is the consistency and hospitality. Megha always greets us warmly, remembers us by both face and name, and genuinely makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. We absolutely love this restaurant, and it will definitely remain one of our go-to spots. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for amazing food and exceptional service.

It's a train station themed restaurant with walls that look like trains, the menu has a train (subway) map, the check arrives in a "Departure ticket" bi-fold. It's nicely done. Luckily they didn't get cheesy with train/travel names for dishes. Staff all looked professional with matching pressed shirts. Our server was attentive. Food was delicious. We ordered typical Americanized Indian dishes. A lamb vindaloo, spinach paneer, buttered chicken, and tandoori pomfret fish. For apps we got vegetable samosas and gobi Manchurian cauliflower. ALL of it was so good! I would probably skip the fish next time. Not because of the taste, because of the work to get the meat out of the fish. It's served whole, which I was not expecting. Still very tasty. The gobi was had a familiar taste- similar profile to a Chinese general tso - regardless tangy and delicious with just a little heat. I was concerned the heat level was going to be too much in our dishes. After all, we did order a vindaloo which is know for its heat. It was perfect. They probably told the cooks to make it American spicy. lol. How do you know it's good? There were many Indian patrons. I will 100% return when I get an Indian food craving. Prices are to be expected given the current economic state of our area/country.
