INCREDIBLEEEEEE food and ambiance!! Perfect option for sharables, kind service, super delicious food.

When visiting D.C. for business, I felt the urge to indulge in some Indian food. Super happy with Nanglo and the options to share with others at the table. The presentation and the quality of the food was superb. The atmosphere was relaxing and beautiful. The drinks were also beautiful and delicious. The service was quick and comforting and attended to our every needs. Highly recommend.

With the goal of supporting newest local businesses along H Street NE, a friend and I did a lunch crawl on a Thursday afternoon. Out of the four spots we visited, Nanglo was one of our favorites. Here's why. 1) Food: The menu focuses on Nepali and Indian food with many options. To feed two of us, we ordered the Nanglo Set for Two for $48, which was a great price for the amount of food you get. (It can feed three people.) It comes out on a platter is the best representation of food from Nepal according to our server. It's chicken heavy with chicken wings, chicken on the bone, biryani with chicken, etc. However, there are a few other dishes like potatoes with an incredible sauce and more. Everything had incredible spice and flavor and was well prepared. 2) Space: It's large with many tables, booths, and a bar. 3) Drinks: The Nanglo Set for Two comes with two mango lassis that were delicious! I'd go back just for that! Overall, we LOVED Nanglo!

Cauliflower Bezule

Highly recommend. Cauliflower Bezule was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend that. I initially ordered a Goat sekuwa, but I found the meat to be tough so they swapped a Chicken Sekuwa and it was very tender and well seasoned. Great service. I will 100% be back to this place. It tastes a little different from normal Indian places, perhaps Nepali influence. I find the food here to be wonderful, and the interior decoration is beautiful !! Will be back.

Everytime I visit Nanglo, I tell myself there's no way my dining experience can possibly get better. Guess what...... everytime it absolutely does ! The servers are super friendly, the manager is very welcoming, the bartender is creative and attentive. The food is immaculate, cooked to tenderly perfection, with bold flavors, served with generous portions at a great price point. Combined, this makes the perfect ambiance for a deep dive into the diversity of Nepalese.

I have been eyeing this spot since it changed ownership and finally visited after my friend suggested we have dinner there on a Saturday evening. I do not think I've ever had Nepalese cuisine, so I was very excited to try something new. I arrived and was stunned to see the new look inside the decoration is outstanding the hand painting on the walls, the crystal lined curtain next to the booths the traditional napkins and serving dishes everything is absolutely stunning and thoughtfully curated for your dining experience. The staff was very friendly and did an amazing job with making suggestions and telling us which dishes were Nepalese. We decided to some sampling. We went with the goat sekuwa, palak chat, chicken thali, buff momo with chili and garlic naan. My favorite of all were the buff momo with chili and the veggies that came with the thali dish. Everything else was lacking in flavor and the goat was overcooked- it was hard to cut. I think the restaurant is beautiful and a great location and wonderful service I would try it again I would just like more flavor/spice.

Goat Curry

Nanglo opened this weekend on H St., providing the neighborhood with a solid Nepalese-Indian restaurant. I just ordered the goat curry, mango virgin mojito and the gulab jamun with ice cream. The goat curry was solid, but I'll note that it has a lot of bones; the meat though is quite tender. The mango virgin mojito was sweet and tangy and a good mocktail option. I enjoyed my dessert and additionally appreciated the great service.

Non-Non -Veg Nanglo Set for Two

Amazing food! We got one of the thali shared plates and it was far more food than two of us could eat (which felt like an amazing deal based on price). Everything was so tasty, fantastic service, and all around a wonderful experience. Recommend!

Menu

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding--we began with the Paneer Shashlik, which was perfectly grilled, well seasoned, and full of flavor. For the main course, we ordered the Nanglo Special Thakali Thali (non-veg), an impressive variety of dishes featuring tender tandoori chicken, flavorful chicken biryani, chicken momo, veg chilly momo, veg chow mein, tandoori wings, spicy Mustang aloo, and a refreshing mango lassi. We also enjoyed the bread basket. Portions were generous, and every dish was consistently delicious. The service was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Nanglo!!!

Lamb Thakali Thali

Food was incredible. We had spicy cauliflower and momos, both Nepali cuisine. Thali was savory and delicious with perfect lamb. People working in the restaurant were super friendly. The Indian dishes were excellent but the Nepalese dishes were unique and amazing.

Veg Thakali Thali

Got the veggie combo. Came with 2 mango lassis. Got steamed chicken momo. Everything was great. Service was great. Great addition to the neighborhood.

We ordered - Impossible meat momos 3/5 - they were okay...not the best and not the greatest. The flavor was hiding and the momo did not stay in tact at all. The sauce that they served alongside did not enhance the momo at all. Veggie momo 3/5 - again, they were okay. In fact, I think these were worst than the impossible meat momos. Didn't seem like there was any flavor and just veggies mushed together with salt and pepper. Raita 3/5 - way too liquidy for my liking. I thought they would at least provide rice, but no. So it was just basically liquid yogurt with a couple of strips of cucumbers and carrots. Paneer chili 0/5 - the container literally said 'paneer chili' and after 2/3 bites, I asked my friend if this was actually paneer because it was kind of chewy? Of course it wasn't and it was chicken!! I'm vegetarian so I was so disappointed that they put the wrong item in our order, especially since the container explicitly said paneer. This morning I woke up with a terrible stomachache. The food definitely did not sit right with me. I'm definitely going to skip this place and try Moh Moh Licious next time.

It's inside a Liberty gas station right off Little River Turnpike (used to be John Mosby Highway), and from the outside you'd never expect there to be a hidden gem there. I tried the steamed chicken momo, chili chicken momo, and fried chicken momo. My favorite was probably the steamed chicken momo, but the other two were still interesting to try. There's also a Krunch Chicken connected to the momo spot, and honestly the fried chicken was my favorite part of the whole meal. It was super juicy and reminded me of Jollibee because the seasoning actually had flavor on the inside too, not just the outside. I got the 3-piece combo which came with a side of your choice, and a sweet biscuit for around $13. The gravy was super hot which i really liked and the biscuit reminded me of cornbread because of the texture. I spent around $50 total for the three momo orders and the chicken combo. I'd definitely come back for the fried chicken, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for the momos again. Also, the gas station itself is kind of like a mini 7-Eleven -- they sell snacks, beer, wine, ice, etc.

We came here late afternoon on a weekday for an early dinner. It was very quiet and relaxing at that time, with pleasant background music and excellent service. We went the "carnivore route" wity yak momos, lamb saag, and skewers of wild boar cubes. We said the food could come out in any order, and the momos actually came out last, because they were prepared to order. The sauce accompanying them was different than the momo sauces I've had at other Nepalese restaurants, but it still enhanced the flavor of them. The lamb saag was intensely green, reflecting a very high amount of fresh spinach. The boar was both crisp and juicy. We were also given some kind of complimentary rings as an alternative to naan. It was pretty difficult to eat all of this slowly, it was so flavorful. The restaurant is a few blocks away from the nearest Metro station, and approaching it from the south, you won't necessarily see it until you get close, because the front of the building is recessed from the street.

Immediately made a reservation for dinner, though it turned out that the restaurant had lots of empty seats (at 7:30-8:30pm). The dishes I tried: 1. Complimentary Sel Roti: fried rice flour "bagel". Crispy outside, sticky and soft and sweet inside. It was served with some Mula Achar (pickled radishes), whcih was too salty for me. 2. Roti: Feels like it is not whole wheat, unlike the rotis in many Indian restaurants. 3. Roasted Yak: I asked for rare and the restaurant did a good job. The meat was lean but very tender. A little bit gamy which was what I look for. It was served with brown and red sauces; both sauces were spicy, while the red was also slightly sweet. 4. Goat Bhutan: Basically fried goat intestine, goat stomach and goat liver, served with raw tomatoes, onions and puffed rice. Mostly crispy, like it was shallow-fried. The organs were delicious but too oily for me. 5. Brussels sprouts: It was said to be pan-fried but looked like roasted. Savory and sweet. Service was good and quick. Overall, if you like game meats and/or Nepali food you should try this restaurant.

Our friends who dined with us tonight traveled to Nepal three times - and tonights meal was spectacular. The chef sent out a course of sel roti with mooli ko achar and trust me -- the deep fried sel roti with the tanginess of the radish pickle in mustard sauce was a great start. Our dinner order was enough for 4 - with a few boxes of leftovers for tomorrow. First course/appetizers we had the crispy kale and the momo (chickened and vegetarian- both were equally delicious). For our main courses, we had the lamb chops( 3 generous and succulent chops) , the tandoori combination ( both lamb and chicken) along with the Aloo cauliflower/potatoes in curry. We also had an order of garlic naan and regular naan. Two of us had a spectacular cocktail that was rimmed with cayenne! The cocktail was great, but we were both caught a little off guard by the heat of the cayenne. For dessert we had the Rasmali - a cheese based dessert that was a lovely ending . Service was attentive , the music lively but set at a perfect volume for ambiance and conversation and timing between courses perfect. We were never hurried or left without attention. They have this perfectly orchestrated. Our Bethesda friends? They'll drive to Arlandria again thats for certain! Great meal, authentic food, fantastic service and a good value.
