I have been a regular customer of this restaurant for a long time, and their food has always been very tasty and good. However, recently I have been facing some issues repeatedly. Two or three times when we ordered a whole chicken chargha, we received only small leg pieces instead of a full chicken, which is disappointing. Today, I ordered a chicken tikka roll, and it arrived completely burnt. This is the second or third time something like this has happened, and that's why I felt the need to share this review. We just had several entrees, and my caveat is that I am not Desi, and order food as "MILD" in Pakistani or Punjabi restaurants, and prefer boneless meat: Wonderful butter chicken, boneless on rich velvety sauce, aromatic tender lamb, part boneless, in the appetizingly colorful biryani, dal makhni was tasty, lentils smaller and less creamy than I am used to in Indian restaurants, not sure I ever ordered there before, loved the mild Aloo Gobi, loaded with perfectly cooked cauliflower, that I purchased "to go" from the buffet (not on their online menu.) Rather a lot of oil in the dish on the buffet, but was given without much oil. The chicken korma consisted of generous on-the-none pueces in a tangy gingery gravy that emphasized the chicken flavor, and is very different from korma I have had, yellow or light brown, at other restaurants in the past. More of a masala flavor to me, tasty.well-seasoned. Dishes came with fluffy, yummy & warm naan. Rice was only in the Biryani. Mango Lassi was perfect! Not watered down either ice, nice serving. The PAAN(sic?) was a nice sweet surprise finish, a small cone containing refrigerated leaf-wrapped, perhaps rosewater-flavored chopped sweet items...nuts? The restaurant interior is had colorful art on the walls of main restaurant, seats are cushion wood backed chairs, and the large group table has a tablecloth. Wanted to try a new place and since this was on my way home and hubby wanted lamb chops. They have two different lamp chops dishes so I ordered both...lasani lamb chops which is the tandoori grilled version and masala lamb chops is the spicy saucy version. Even though we can see the chops were seasoned and marinated, they were not as flavorful as we expected. They were decent. The masala lamb chops were great though. The spicy sauce over the rice was a great combination. The only issues were the communication when I called in the order. It was very hard understanding. Everything was amazing and I feel like I've been missing out over the last year for not eating here. We got a few things to share and try. Lasani Kabob is a good Pakistani restaurant. Their evening buffet has good chicken and liver options, but that was it for meat on the buffet. Their rice was very good and a strong recommendation for as part of any plate selection. Service was by one gal who seated, served and brought you the check. She did a good job, but could get behind if the restaurant was busy. Prices are very reasonable. Limited drink options in my opinion. The only thing I'd ask for is some raita to take the edge off the heat, but otherwise if you're in the area do not skip this place. This place is really fabulous! The location is awesome but parking may not be available in the front of the restaurant but lots in the back. They have all you can eat buffet and many Pakistani dishes are available. Such as Nahari,Paaya,Chickrn briyani, lentils, chick peas and Pakistani sweets. This place wasn't on top of our list but I am glad we went. Now this place is one of my favorite restaurants. The positive experience started with greetings from everyone. Followed by a clean and neat environment. One of us settled for the buffet and the other ordered the ground beef kabob from the menu. The ground beef was seasoned perfectly, the rice was delicious, the side of chickpeas was cooked to perfection. Please note that it may sound easy to make chickpeas but to make a great chickpeas you have to have the right recipe. The buffet was a deal. Excellent selections, Biryani, chicken stew, haleem, Nahari, chickpeas, eggplant, chicken kabob, lentils..... And a few desserts that I can't recall the names of. This restaurant was very quiet on a Sunday during lunchtime. We opted out of the buffet and asked for the a-la-carte menu. Vibe: not great. It feels "empty" with no music, and some sort of fan / vent that would switch on and off every few minutes providing interrupted white noise. But I didn't come here for the vibe, the food is where this restaurant excels. *Lamb biryani: Well seasoned, moist, and with ample portion size. *Chicken karahi: Very full flavored with strong tomato flavor. You can select either boneless or bone-in chicken. We chose bone-in chicken for better texture / moisture, and this didn't disappoint. Comes with two large pieces of flatbread which had great slightly flaky texture and felt less "plain" than some flatbread at other similar restaurants. A lot of reviewers mention that the food here is too "oily" but I'm not sure how oil can be minimized in this type of cuisine, without sacrificing flavor. We felt extremely full with what we ordered. This restaurant provides excellent value at the price point. I have no regrets about ordering from the a-la-carte menu instead of buffet. The buffet may have saved us a couple of bucks, but has fairly limited options that probably wouldn't be as good as the made-to-order food, and if coming in a big group it would be more interesting to order a-la-carte items for sharing. read more

The hubs and I checked this place out for a weekend buffet - there was chicken biryani, tandoori chicken, chickpeas, beef curries, etc. I thought the rice was seasoned tasty, fluffy, and fresh; the chickpeas were cooked well, but they were a little bland. The tandoori chicken was okay, and some pieces had a nice char to them. I just wished that there was more flavor and more spiciness, as we both are fans of Pakistani food. I also wished that the offerings were piping hot, as they were more of room temperature. You receive a basket of hot naan bread which was soft and generous in size. This seems to be a local favorite. I've ordered Lasani Kabob several times through DoorDash and it's always delicious. I love their butter chicken. It has a nice smooth flavor and the portion size is very filling. I've also had their samosas and they are so good! I love all the spices used to make them. The one thing I'm not a fan of is their naan. It's not horrible, but it's not as good as naan I've had from other restaurants. I still order it because it's the perfect thing to soak up all that yummy butter chicken sauce. This place was a total letdown. My husband ate here in person and said it was amazing, so we decided to order takeout. When he got home, we realized we got regular naan versus the cheese naan, which wouldn't have been so bad if 1) the cheese naan weren't over double the price and 2) the regular naan weren't so bland. This is my first time having bad naan and it's impressive they managed to mess up something so simple. I find it odd the dishes don't come with rice when everywhere else I go has rice included in the price, so when you factor that in, this place is overpriced The lamb masala lacks flavor, had really off tasting lamb with a weird consistency, and had a lot of sauce with very little meat. The buffet is like having a home cooked meal in a buffet. Welcoming. The best time to go to Lasani is in the morning right when they open at 11am. You will not regret the 11am trip; so so worth it! Walked by this place, after eating a bad lunch at another place. I must say when I first walked it, it was rather warm, but the overall smell of food was amazing. I'm not an expert of Pakistani Food or Indian, but this is the place to be. I ordered the Lamb meal and family ordered beef and rice. It was definitely worth the money, and after eating one ice cream, I turned around and purchased seven more (its just that good). I am very greatful that this is really close to my house, where I can walk and order this on a weekly basis. This is definitely a small gem, and makes the time here in the DMV well worth it. I know the area really well, and I must say on this side of town, this resturant is one of the best in the area hands down. Vegetarians: This is unfortunately NOT the restaurant for you. On two separate occasions since the restaurant opened, I ordered chana saag and found a bone in the curry sauce. I called the owner (who was at his other Springfield restaurant at the time) and reported the cross-contamination concern. I told him his kitchen staff needed to use completely separate pots, pans, and utensils when preparing vegetarian dishes and when preparing meat dishes. After all, that's how it's supposed to be done. He listened, apologized, implied he agreed, and thanked me for reporting the concern to him directly. Tonight, the same thing happened yet again -- I found a bone in the chana saag I ordered for delivery! This is just completely unacceptable. Clearly, the owner and restaurant did not take my reported concern seriously at all. They do not seem to understand that cross contamination with meat products is a major nonstarter for vegetarians. I really wanted to support this new restaurant in my neighborhood (the ambiance is lovely and some of the other offerings, such as the aloo paratha and kheer, are tasty) but I no longer can given that my dietary practice as a vegetarian is simply not being respected. read more

It was great and definitely worth the travel to experience this nice little restaurant. One would usually not expect such delicious and flavorful food at a small place like this. The also have Naan you just have to ask for it. It is included in the weekend buffet. This place appears very small but they also have anorher nice attached dining area. Our waiter was M.A. Bukhari. He was extremely nice and actually took time to tell us about their varieties of food. The nihari and piya smelled rotten. The biryani was meh. The fresh naans was the only decent thing. The restaurant itself was decent inside and clean but was too quiet and the lady working there just kept staring at us eating as we were the only ones in there. I'm new to the area and was just introduced to this hidden gem this evening. The restaurant offers a buffet filled with your favorite Pakistani dishes! Their service is excellent and the paintings on the wall are the best! They have a sneak peak of a few of their most popular Pakistani cities painted colorfully on all sides of the establishment. The host was very respectful and never allowed my cup of water to drop below a sip! He welcomed us, seated us, offered a drink and immediately brought out a big piece of their homemade bread! The only compliant I have is that they offered bottled and canned soda vs. fountain drinks. I did not like my takeout experience here. My husband tried to order several lamb dishes but they were out of them. He settled on the lamb Kebob (the only available lamb dish) and I ordered butter chicken. We also ordered samosas but they were out of them too?! Idk this was weird. They also forgot my rice with the butter chicken which is kind of a big mistake. So I had butter chicken soup for dinner. Also I had a bit of a tummy ache the next day. I took a separate plate the rice and it was 2/3 days prior rice. I thought this is may be my taste is bad but found my wife and kid has the same issue. Informed to the manager, he said he found the same way and he will remove the tray. Started eating with the Cheka peas, found a big stone on that, when I explain again to the manager he was trying to give me some excuses. I asked can you please check in my plate. Later he said I am sorry. The way he said Sorry means same person says lots of issue of the food. Nothing seems the sorry like apology. I feel the beef Kema the same way, it must be 2/3 days old. The first Pakistani buffet place I've ever gone to. For about $6, it's really a good deal. Buffet does not include drinks. Most of their food is spicy and oily - but really good. Food is so filling so I couldn't get a third plate. What I got was the fancy long-grain rice (colored orange and yellow), chicken curry, spicy cauliflower (this one's good!), and others that I could not identify.
