After some shopping, we decided to give this place a try, ordering the Butter Chicken - described as chicken being cooked in a 'sweet buttery gravy', this was definitely not the case - the curry itself was just inedible. It was a mixture of tasting acidic, almost carbonated, with an overwhelming amount of sweetness, but not have any flavors. The butter naan was really thick and chewy, and the side of the chickpeas was heavily tomato-based. After a couple of bites, the meal was tossed. Probably one of the poorest Indian eats we've had. +inedible curries +located in the food courts at Potomac Mills

At one point, when my friend and I mentioned that we had been waiting a long time for our food, a staff member responded sarcastically, saying, "We can't give you a ride in a car to bring your food." This kind of response was completely unnecessary, disrespectful, and unprofessional. It made an already frustrating situation even worse Mr. Atif and Kashif's behavior was even worse. If you have no idea how to do it, don't offer it. My chicken biryani had some tamarind in it. What is tamarind doing in a biryani? The quantity was not good. We just couldn't finish the rice. Disappointed.

We ordered Laziz for takeout tonight as first time customers. Straight up delicious. The food we…read moregot, 5 out of 5. I'm docking a point off the total review because we ordered 2 sides of the naan plus the naan that was supposed to come with the hummus and our combos and if we got naan it did not look like what the website showed it should look like, nor like the images on the toast ordering site, nor did it look like the countless videos of laziz kabob's naan on tiktok, nor did it look like the pics on naan here on their yelp page. What we received was a bag of square cut thick bread that had striations in it that I'm not used to seeing in naan. There is one image of striated naan on their toast order site so maybe that's what we received, but I thought from the videos I saw of their restaurant that they homemade the naan in a giant oven and I love fresh homemade naan and that's not what we received so I was disappointed. That said the lamb and chicken kabobs are slightly spicy and really flavorful. My husband loved the kofta and chapli. The chickpea curry is my new favorite. And the hummus was delightful on a hot day. Hear me out their fries (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside) are made 20x better with the hummus. The bright tangy hummus with the fried crisp... I don't know why it worked but it was our favorite thing we ate from dinner 200/10. I will also note for toddler parents, that the lamb kabob was too spicy for my toddler, nothing against it (I loved it) but I was hoping to split my food with my toddler and while he wanted to eat it each time he took a bite he needed to down half a thing of water. So I had to find another main for him to eat with all the delicious sides. All in all we plan to go back. It truly was delicious food!

While I didn't get to try the actual hot food this time, everything looked great and I definitely wanted to. I'm definitely going to make my way back the next time I'm in Virginia. Quality over quantity - and they absolutely delivered. My dad, who cooks very flavorful dishes at home and is usually hard to impress, gave Taj a 9/10 as well. A couple of constructive suggestions: I've been to several Indian buffets, and usually the plates are placed right next to the food. Here, you have to wait for the staff and ask for a new plate each time. I even noticed another guest taking his dirty plate back for more food, which made me wonder if he was confused like I was. I understand they use high-quality plates, but maybe having separate buffet plates could make the experience smoother. A little smile goes a long way. The food is delicious and full of flavor, but the gentleman at the front - who I believe may be the owner - never smiled or asked how the food was. I actually had to be the one to compliment him. Just a few small things to work on, but overall this place still deserves 5 stars. We'll definitely be back and will gladly recommend it to our friends and family. Great food and absolutely worth visiting.
