They ruined the chicken rice bowl. Used to be the best lunch deal in town, now $15 for barely any chicken and veggies. Just heaps of rice and white sauce which feels like an anchor all afternoon. Second time I've had it since the revamp and I won't be coming back. A shame because the staff is always great. read more

Went here with a friend and we loved it ! I've been to the location in Ashburn for a yelp event and looked how fresh everything tasted. This location did not disappoint ! Although there isn't ample sitting inside the restaurant, it's more of a grab and go kind of establishment, there are 3-4 tables along the side you can sit if in a pinch. For the busy moms looking for a bite while strolling through old town, the mockingbird stroller (which is so wide for a single stroller) fits through the door and the narrow walk up to the ordering counter. I wouldn't park the stroller inside if you intend to dine in though as it'll block the path for other patrons. Overall, good food and warm service ! The best part? We got a free shawarma box because it was Mother's Day and my kid was so stinking cute smiling at the staff! read more

Wow. This was fantastic. I had the falafel pita with fries and drink. It was a lot but the fries allowed me to really try the sauces. The sauces make this 5*. Interesting and tasty spices on the fries. Loved them and perfect for dipping. The falafel pita was really good. Loved the veggies and falafel. Pita packed it all in with minor spillage. This was a big meal for me. However, I wanted the fries to try the 6 sauces. They were all fantastic. I won't mention my preferences because people are different. What I will write is that they all seemed uniquely different and brought different flavors to each dip. I really couldn't pick just one. Very small space ideal for takeout. However, very friendly inside spaces w a few tables and fun hightops with windows views overlooking the street. Order on the tablet so dont be fooled by the line of those waiting for pickup! read more

This is a *tiny* location on King Street. Very cramped inside, so I suggest getting your food to go. Falafel Inc is known for its cheap Erica, which this is, but items were about $1 more than at other locations - likely given the touristy area. Good was fresh and delicious. This is a cheap option if you're in the area, just get it to go! read more

Outstanding value, solid food. There are a couple seats here, but it's really more of a takeout joint. The falafel sandwich is cheap and excellent, we generally prefer it without hummus personally as the falafel is already moist enough and the hummas can make the sandwich a little sloppy to eat. YMMV though! The chicken bowl is excellent, and more filling if that's what you're looking for. Definitely add the zatar fries no matter what, they're delicious! read more

We stopped by there for 1st time by chance and surprised how good it was and price was amazing too. They have limited seating and no restrooms for public use, so it's probably best for carry out not expecting to find seating.. that's prolly how they keep their cost down.. we both had falafel sandwich, and it was fantastic . I wish we had a second set to have for dinner! read more

Falafel Inc is a great destination for inexpensive falafel pitas or falafel bowls. They also have a limited selection of other menu items. I would recommend the falafel pita, zaatar fries, and the baklava--if you are inclined for dessert. read more

I created a Yelp account tonight just so I could write about the young man taking orders and working the front counter today.... He was slammed (as were his workmates) because of the free sandwich offer.... But he was so polite, courteous, and helpful. Grateful for my falafel dinner tonight! read more

We ate at Falafel, Inc. today in Old Town Alexandria. I had great expectations from all the positive reviews and accolades on the walls but the experience was a huge letdown. We got a falafel bowl, a falafel sandwich and an order of falafel, and the za'atar fries. The falafel was not freshly made and it was terrible. Fresh falafel can be so delicious and this was not good. The fries were fresh and the salad was good but the falafel was so poor that I don't think I would eat there again. read more

Heard about Falafel Inc since the Georgetown location was a US top 100 rated place in Yelp for 2023. I stopped by for take out lunch, the inside is small with seating for 6 or so. The food is great and you can order ahead to pick up quickly. The star of the meal was the Zaatar fries. Regular fries but with Zaatar seasoning is delicious. We had dipping sauces, but none were as tasty as just the fries themselves. Fries were nice and crisp when just picked up, and if you takeout they can be resurrected in a toaster easily. Chicken Shawarma can be in a bowl or a wrap, and we got both. The wrap is long and thin and browned by a panini press, while the bowl has chicken over shredded lettuce , tomatoes, and rice. Seasoning on chicken was very good, and they also had a white sauce mixed in for lubrication. I personally liked the wrap, easier to hold in a hand and eat, warm all the way through, and reminds me of an excellent shawarma from a trip to Russia in the past. The bowl was solid as well, slightly more vegetables so maybe slightly healthier. The falafel sandwich was a stuffed pita with four falafel with a cucumber tomato mixture. Great wrap, but smaller than the shawarma and was not completely filling on its own. Sauces were in point. Six options and you can select which you want. A clear sign above showing each sauce. The garlic sauce and Habibi (house sauce) were both enjoyable. The Invisible sauce had some light jalapeno heat, but didn't quite pair with any of our items. I'm also a bit confused about how the White sauce is different from the Garlic or Mazbout (tahini) sauces. The white sauce was a muted flavor, so I suggest treating it like a lower viscosity Mayo. read more

Falafel, Inc has long been one of my go-to spots for lunch. Their vegan shawarma is incredible. So I was beyond disappointed when I went in today and saw that they only have chicken shawarma now. The meatless version is just gone from the menu. I left without ordering anything, but I can say the za'atar fries are delicious and they still have those. I don't see a way on their website to contact them to give feedback so this is the only way I can beg them to bring back the vegan shawarma. read more

Ordered the falafel bowl that was advertised. I asked if it would be extra to substitute the spinach for rice and she said I'd have to order the veggie plate instead which was $12. I didn't want everything that came with it, and asked again and she again said I can order the veggie plate. I just stuck with the bowl. They also up charged a $1 for hummus which is misleading since the photo shows with hummus for $8. The falafel itself was well seasoned. Way too much spinach. read more

About a 1-1.5: I'm sorry, but not sure what the hype is all about for Falafel Inc. I totally dig their partnership with the World Food Programme, in which every purchase you make at a Falafel Inc helps feed a refugee in need. Not sure if it's because this place recently opened, or I should have gone to the OG location in Georgetown, but my bowl was just super disappointing. The bowl comes with falafel, red cabbage, tabouli (which I opted out of), pickles, and zaatar chips on greens. The falafel, which I thought would have been fresh-out-of-fryer and super crispy, was super mushy and dry, almost like a chalk-like consistency. Some spinach was wilted and could have been more fresh. The pickles, which I did request extra of, was of an extra charge - no where on their site or menu does it state that the toppings were of an extra charge, so I feel this place just nickel-and-dimes you - you'd think since I opted out of the tabouli, they could have just substituted it for the pickles? Also, if you want hummus, note that that's an additional charge. Just felt a bit bamboozled. The only thing I liked from the bowl were the zaatar chips, as they were super crispy; probably would have to consume those right away or they'd get soggy in the bowl. The site description stated that it comes with a special sauce, but it didn't, but I'm thinking it's because they encourage you to use the bottled sauces on the counter to your heart's content? If you weren't paying attention and you were getting your items to go, you wouldn't have noticed that your orders were automatically sauce-less. And, speaking of sauces, the sauces were super watery and thin, so they didn't really add anything to the bowl. People tout this place as being super budget-friendly, but the $9 I spent here for the small bowl that had mushy falafels, wilted spinach, and watery sauce(s) felt like a total waste. This just ain't it. Service was friendly, and this place was more of a carry-out. No dice, Falafel Inc. +mushy and dry falafels +watery sauces +wilted spinach +inaccurate pricing +extra charges on toppings read more

Ordered falafel bowl with tahini. The server substituted some kind of crap salad dressing without telling me. As in no "we're out of tahini, so would you like this salad dressing stuff instead?" Just surprise substitution. Whatever it was, it tasted like [organic fertilizer]. I don't know if they were out or the guy just found it easier to use a squirt bottle, or just thought it would be funny. Two stars because the falafel s were sort-of okay and I'm not sick or anything. read more

I've been to all of the falafel Inc locations in the area and it never disappoints. My friend and I stopped here after spending the afternoon at planthouse. I always like to get the falafel sandwich with hummus and a side of fries. The fries are always so hot and made fresh which I love. I also like that there are a wide range of sauces to choose from and containers to put them in. My favorite is the white sauce. The restaurant was clean and the staff were cordial. My friend and I enjoyed our lunch and I'll definitely be back! read more

I've been traveling to Georgetown for these tasty, cheap falafels for years (especially back when they cost $3) and love that I'm also supporting refugees with each delicious purchase. Thankfully, I stumbled upon this new location before I went out there again. Yay! Like the Georgetown location, it is pretty small and cramped, more of a carryout place, though there is a waiting bench and high table if you need to stand and eat. Thankfully, falafel is well suited to the carry-out lifestyle, though like in Georgetown, they have a couple of tables out on the street. Be aware that it's in a high pedestrian and street traffic area, so it might be a better idea to walk to a park or something and eat there. I taste tested a falafel just to be sure, and they taste and look just like I expected. Fresh lettuce and finely chopped vegetables, abundant white sauce and just enough peppery habibi sauce to give it a wow factor. I think falafels need a little bit of heat to make them great, as well as moisture, as the bean balls can be dry inside. While I have been spoiled by Amsterdam Falafelshop on fried eggplant, baba ganoush, and pickled veggies, Falafel Inc's falafels are overall a very satisfying clean and lighter bite. Basically, they don't need anything else. I also am accustomed to a chilled Vimto with my falafel, and I can have that here. Great choice of restaurant to splurge responsibly on a Ramadan night. While the falafel is now $5, it is still a great deal, for a great cause. So happy they're here! read more

Came here while walking around old town, and I'm so glad I did! I got the falafel sandwich with hummus, and it is so fresh and delicious, and worth it for the price. Delicious, flavorful and fresh. I stop by every time I can. The fries are delicious and a generous portion and the falafel wraps are great.

Since moving to RVA, we've been on the hunt for the chunky Falafel sandwich along with some zesty fries. And Falafel Inc. hits all the spot. We've been going to the Tysons Corner location quite a few times and we decided to hit the Alexandria location as it was along our way. This is located in a location along with other food joints (Five Guys is right across). There is tight competition for the parking (make sure you have the Park Mobile app). There are a couple of seating options and unfortunately they weren't clean at all -- with dropping on the table and the floor. We ordered the sandwich and the bowl. The sandwich was perfect - hitting the right notes with the sauces and the veggies. Unfortunately, the falafel in the bowl was salty for my wife's taste. read more

The salad bowl and the falafel sandwich were great. Note to owners, the salad leaves need bit more cleaning as they had some soil still. Make sure you get some of the dressings/dips. The green one had a good kick and flavor! The spice tossed fries were good too. Everything reasonably priced compared to the current gouging by eateries. Small space with seating for about 10. We took our order to go. read more

My wife and I decided to spend the day in Alexandria, and after walking around for a few hours while stopping in some stores, we stumbled upon this falafel shop, and I always love a good falafel. While my fondness for falafel stems from a halal food truck in Queens, NY, I will always try to stop at a place that sells falafel. Since I wasn't super hungry, I opted to get the wrap, and the pita seemed fresh, and everything tasted good. This place didn't get 5 stars because the falafel was soft on the outside. I love biting into a falafel that is hard on the outside and smooth on the inside. While the flavors were there, I wished it had the crunch I five wanted. read more

Ok, we went to Falafel Inc and Amsterdam Falafel back to back... Hands down, this falafel wins in texture. The price is great, and I'd say for the best value, get the bowl. It's fabulous and filling. We've gotten the wrap a couple times, and I've been disappointed in that. Last time I unwrapped it and said "there's nothing in there..." so the flavor is good, but they reallllllly need to add more of the fillings to the pita. My husband ended up having to get two to get full, and at that point, then the price stops being so good. The za'atar fries are really what I come here for, and looove all the sauce options. read more

I'm so happy my husband introduced me to Falafel Inc.! Their falafels are a delicious bargain but my favorite food items are their chicken shawarma wrap and seasoned fries, especially when paired with any of the several sauces available for dispensing. The food is very consistent and delicious! My one gripe is insufficient dine-in space but it's Old Town Alexandria, so space comes at a premium. When the weather is nicer, we order the food to-go and eat at nearby parks. read more

I love this place so much. Their food is incredibly reasonably priced, and they have half a dozen sauces that are all delicious. Not a place to bring a group. A few could sit inside but it seems like it's mostly to go. Staff behind the counter are very friendly. They have at least one other location at the Wharf. read more

I'm trying to figure out the math on this place: ridiculously cheap prices, amazingly tasty food, and King street location. How does this happen? Not questioning it for now: you must try Falafel Inc! There are a lot of positives that are covered in other reviews: Amazing food (especially the fries and falafel sandwich), great prices (!!), friendly staff, etc. But I'm here to rave about their hummus . Pros: *Ordered falafel sandwich (falafel, lettuce, red cabbage, pali salad, tatbili, tahini + red sauce in pita). Food tasted fresh + filing. *Very affordable menu pricing - $5 falafel sandwiches + $6 falafel bowls. *Large portions - impressed by size + weight of sandwich - solid value. Cons: *Falafel had soft outside + dry inside - wasn't a huge fan. Prefer a 'deep fried texture' - a crispy exterior/ moist, chewy vegetable interior would be better. *No 'real' meat on the menu - the closest thing is vegan shawarma meat. *To my knowledge, you can't order dipping sauces IN your sandwich - instead you have to fill up dipping sauces in containers at self-serve sauce station. Overall: Fast-casual falafel spot w/healthy ingredients + low prices. Was not blown away by the falafel, but they do a lot of other things right - pricing, portions, quality, service - to warrant a return visit. Definitely open to giving the falafel another shot + also trying other items on the menu. read more

The food is amazing. I was at work today. My name is Allyson Pavelchak and I'm a DASH bus operator who was driving the trolley up and down King St.. From Old Town to King St metro station. I've had their falafel sandwich before and the falafel pairs beautifully with an abundance of crunchy veggies in a pita. And you can add all of the sauces your heart desires! But today is about French fries and not just any French fries. I'm a total snob about fries and these are probably the best I've tasted. No pics here--I could not stop eating them! These are fried to perfection and dusted with za'atar, a zesty and tangy spice blend. The serving was very generous and I ate. every. last. one. No ketchup in sight: just your choice of six different sauces. (I recommend the tahini sauce and their habibi sauce.) The service was quick and friendly too. I'm going back for sure. read more

The falafels here are bomb and SO affordable. The sauces really boost the flavor. Will be coming back here again.

You can't beat the price for the VERY FILLING falafel salad bowl. The zaatar fries are also delicious, but you won't be able to finish your salad if you eat too many!
