The wrap was really good - good mix of veggies and chicken with a spicy tangy sauce to go with. They make the bread in house so you get nice slightly chewy texture with a great taste. Went for lunch and ended up fighting off roaches. There were roaches terrorizing the place in mid-day out in the seating area. I couldn't eat my meal. It was a massive turnoff. Changing to a 1-star. I ordered a standard beef/lamb gyro sandwich with white sauce. They put a bunch of some sort of orange spicy sauce on my sandwich even though I never asked for that. Based on other reviews I doubt they would have remade my sandwich or done anything about it. Another thing I really don't appreciate, they charged me $10.99 before tax for this gyro sandwich. Even though, I believe the menu price is $9.99. So I'm not sure if they just added in $1.00 because they felt like it, or if they charge an extra dollar for the orange spicy sauce. In either case I never asked for, nor wanted a spicy sauce so I don't appreciate being charged the extra funds or being given sauces I never asked for. This is not the proper way to do business. Proof positive that you and your family should steer clear of this establishment. The nasty owner ADIBA sent me a rude and nasty comment on YELP. ADIBA take a few days off from the register and take some customer service classes. Your restaurant does smell bad it may have a lot to do with your nasty attitude. Who do you think you are? My favorite out of all the selection offerings was the chickpeas as it was very flavorful, thick, and hearty, with the bed of rice. The spinach and the chicken were okay, but more on the bland side for me. There was also a section for some salad if you wish. Service was friendly, and there is a limited dining area. I think if you're craving for some good chickpeas and are looking for more of a 'vegetarian' option, Halal Kabab House can be a place to go to. This used to be our go to spot for yearsssss, but overtime their food quality is starting to go down. the gyros used to be so big before and would actually feel worth it, but now there are so small and not worth paying $10 for. Today we went in and the daughter of the owner was working there, she was extremely rude. We got the platter and normally it would come with everything, the rice, salad, sauce, and choice of side, but not today. She said you have to pay extra for not only the salad but the sauce as well. We told her that your father and mother don't charge for these things because it's included in the price we're paying, but she was like they don't charge, but I do. This place has delicious chicken. I ordered the #1, chicken, bone in, with rice, garbanzo beans, and huge piece of flatbread. Husband ordered the combo plate with chicken, no bone, with koobideh, rice, spinach, and flatbread. We were both impressed with the moist and tender texture of the chicken, and the grilled, marinated flavor. Unfortunately the koobideh was a huge disappointment for my husband. It just had no flavor whatsoever. The guys behind the counter were emotionless. According to the Yelp information, it says that they take cards. Not so. I found this place around 10 years ago traveling for work. Their spicy chicken Shawarma may literally be my favorite meal anywhere! Everything I've ever gotten from this place has been phenomenal. Yes it's a dive but some of the Best restaurants are dives. It's not up-to-date or modern but I've never noticed it been dirty or smelly like some of the other comments have mentioned. I wouldn't say the staff are the friendliest people in the world, but they've never been remotely rude either. The bottom line is that when you can produce food that's this good, it's OK to be a little cocky. I can tell you that if they franchised their chicken Shawarma sandwich it would be a huge hit anywhere. Every time I'm in the area I make sure and pick up food from here. When I first walked into this establishment, I was very tempted to walk back out, but I'm glad I didn't! Then I was actually going to try their kabob but it was 8:15pm and they had a buffet still going on, so had to try it. What girl can say no to unlimited amount of afghan/kabob. For the buffet, they actually will serve you a heaping portion of rice and a make fresh, large piece of bread. Then you can grab whatever's on the bar. And if you want more bread or rice, just ask! Everything on the bar was quite tasty. They had chicken, goat, and plenty of other side dishes including spinach, okra, cauliflower, and chick peas. They also had a salad bar, but I refrain from eating salad bars sitting out all day. I wish they had turned on the A/C- I mean I walked into this place and it felt like they had their thermostat set close to 80 F, feeling even hotter inside. Eating their spicy dishes made us have beads of sweat coming down our forehead. I guess they didn't want us to get too comfortable. Because I could have definitely done more damage if the air was cooler ;-) All in all, it's a steal. $9.50 for the buffet. Dont let the location or horrible parking situation scare you. My co worker immediately got sick, gas & digestion problems. I also had digestion issues but not as bad as him...because I didnt finish my food. I understand it's a mom and pop shop. But dont serve old rice to your customers. And especially not to those who eat from there 4 times a week. We can tell the difference between chewy lamb kabob. I'm writing this review simply because this place has THE WORST customer service from any place I've ever been to in Virginia. Both me and my friend went there for iftar. The place was empty, we walked in and the worker is just looking at us. We said hi. He didn't reply. We asked if they had iftar items. He pointed to the menu above him. He did not say ONE WORD to us while we were in there other than NO when we asked if this place was under new management. I came here a year ago, on ramzan. I had a really bad experience WITH THE OWNER. She argued with me in front of a full restaurant that there is a $10 minimal on a credit card purchase. My total was $9.89 and she wouldn't just charge an extra 11 cents. Instead she told me to purchase another item. I grabbed a bottle of water and said charge this, she proceeded to tell me that the bottle are cash only. I went to my car to get money and she chased me outside thinking that I was going to run away. A kind customer in the restaurant saw what was happening and offered to pay for the water. Other customers started listening in on what was going on and complained that this should not he happening during iftar as we are all fasting and very hungry and thirsty. I even have a picture of the owner yelling at me in a crowded restaurant but out of respect I won't post it. The signs are misspelled outside, the area literally smells like a dumpster. Literally. As other posters have mentioned, it is not in the most asthetically pleasing location. A strip mall with limited parking doesn't scream 5 star. Nor does cramped seating inside. Or does it? *Drum Roll Please* The food is FANTASTIC. Whether you get the gyros with fries or the gyro/kabob platters, the food is fresh, cooked to order and super tasty. The roti is also soft and adds a great compliment to the food. The sides are great, particularly the spinach and the fries, which are soooo flavorful. The seasoning on the fries provides a spice kick, which is a pleasant surprise. Best part about it all, the prices are pretty decent. Is it mcdonalds cheap? No, but it's not that far off and the quaility is vastly superior. In fact, compare this place to other competitors like say Duke House of Kabob, which is across the street and it's not even close. read more
