My favorite restaurant in Anchorage! I always take family members from out of town here. Kami Ramen has the best ramen in town in my opinion. I usually get the tonkotsu ramen and all of their appetizers are no joke, either. We love the mochiko chicken, takoyaki, gyoza, and masago fries. Interior design is very cute as well. read more

Kami Ramen - Ramen Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

The food here can't be beat. My partner had the tonkostu ramen, and I got one of the tomato fried rices, so we could try a selection of what they had to offer. We also got the pork chasu sandwiches as appetizers, and they were honestly worth it just for those. The ramen broth was rich and savory, and the fried rice was cooked perfectly, and the tomato added a nice acidity to what is usually an otherwise very heavy dish. The only thing I would say is that I hope they are able to move into a larger location one day, as the current location is very, very limiting in how many groups can be sat at a time. I would honestly say that is currently the only shortcoming of Kami ramen, and isn't even worth taking off a star as you can put yourself on the waitlist beforehand. Overall, I would say this is a must stop if you enjoy ramen, or just good food in general! read more

My partner and I stopped by last week for a bowl. I got tonkotsu ramen which was alright, not much to be said except the seaweed strip is literally the same thing we feed fish at my job My partner got a chicken rice bowl but the rice was hard and undercooked, chicken dry and seasoning left to be desired. When we first arrived we were sat at a reasonable time but the crowd that followed had to wait due to the ordering system having been changed from servers to a kiosk. The kiosk felt like a cheap cop out and the servers were confused and looked overwhelmed with the sudden influx of people and no way to handle It. We also ordered the takoyaki but they were put in a to-go container (a mixup from the kiosk) and the takoyaki were still raw in the middle. I've had their takoyaki before and they are my favorite out of the few other restaurants that offer it but had they been cooked properly they would've been the best thing we had. All in all I'll give it a 3/10 and probably won't be coming back for the winter rush due to all the changes and no love in their ramen anymore. If you're looking for a better overall experience with ramen made with love when you inevitably have to wait for a seat at kami, just go to naruto it's literally a block or two away. read more

I go here almost on a weekly basis. Bomber Kirumayu broth. Amazing custardy egg. Portion size fills me up. I can usually eat and go within 30 minutes and I have never had to wait for a seat (at the bar). Re: prices, sure I wish it was a couple dollars cheaper, but it is up to any restaurant to set the price that will keep them happy and in business. If I can't afford it, I cook a meal at home (duh), or I go to Pho Vietnam #8 where the portion size is equivalent to 2 meals. read more

Overall it was pretty good ramen for just opening. As business goes I'm sure they will definitely get a lot better! The fried pork belly definitely needed a sauce for it, had to ask for a sauce for it which made it a lot better. The charsu pork don was definitely delicious the sauce that came with it was the perfect topping to it all. I wish they had chili oil on the side of the table to spice up your flavor of ramen. Overall this place was delicious and the service was fast and amazing. Will be back for sure. read more

Amazing flavor! I stopped in for pick up at about 11:30 on a Thursday and the place was packed. Their online ordering was easy an my food was ready to go when it stated. I got the shoyu ramen broth was flavorful and not too salty. The take out packaging was great keeping the noodles and topping out of the broth untill you you combined them ensuring they wouldn't get soggy. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back to try more. read more

I'm a firm believer that everyone deserves a second sometimes third chance. this would be my second visit and I'm sad to say it hasn't improved. I'm well aware there is virtually no choices for Ramen shops in the entire state of Alaska but that doesn't excuse the over salted food and the price gouging. It is absolutely preposterous to be charging upwards of $10 for the smallest portion of appetizers. It is imperative you have servers that truly understand what your patrons are ordering down to the specifics. Repeating something over and over again only to have an order come out wrong left such a terrible impression for our party we won't be coming back. The chicken curry we received was under seasoned underwhelming and lack of actual chicken was pretty disheartening. I'm assuming all of the seasoning went into the Ramen as the Ramen itself was over seasoned. We'd love to come visit again once things are buttoned up and a proper plan with servers and how they interact with patrons is addressed. we hope y'all get better and learn more. read more

Ordered to go and it was delicious I would highly recommend and make sure you have time to spare because it can get busy.

I've eaten here twice in the past two weeks and it was excellent both times. Fast, friendly, and delicious. Cup Noodles lovers can elevate their game by ordering the Miso Ramen. Split the gyoza with your date, or don't and eat it all by yourself because you deserve a tasty treat. read more

The ramen was absolutely amazing, definitely encourage everyone to try the calamari. Very nice and the service was great too!

I found myself in Anchorage attending real estate classes. Famished from the intense 8 hour Saturday class I yearned for some good Japanese ramen. Upon pulling into the parking lot , I quickly realized this was the spot, it was packed. A good sign in the world of restaurants. It was a smaller establishment which provided little elbow room as well as customer seating - but being alone - there is always a lone seat available at the bar. Arriving inside and being greeted by Japanese ephemera and huge selection of canned drinks specific to the region, I was quickly seated at the bar by a server. The menu is concise and to the point. I ordered a chicken Katsu appetizer and the pork ramen. The katsu was crunchy and on point with flavor. The ramen was delicious- I ordered an extra soft boiled egg - and the included pork belly was so savory. I finished my entire meal , paid my bill, and quickly left to make room for another solitary traveler that might find themselves in my predicament. I advise anyone in town to visit this place and treat themselves to great food and atmosphere. read more

Food was great, the server was great as well. They just need to expend their business so people don't have to wait in line. other than that, I would say best ramen in town. read more

Small but this place packs a punch! This is our new jam, from app to main, every dish we had was delicious! read more

I had a frustrating experience due to unfair handling of the waiting list. I was the 4th customer waiting outside, but after the electronic waitlist started between seating the 1st and 2nd customers, a 5th customer who arrived after me rudely cut ahead and was seated first. Despite voicing concerns politely, the staff insisted, disregarding those of us already waiting. Both the 3rd group and myself left due to the unfair treatment. We share this event to you to point out the business that treat all customer unfairly. read more

Honestly awesome! The food tastes great and the chopsticks are such good quality (I do have mysophobia so it is hard to eat, nobody's fault but my own ^^) The parking is a bit small for the family car, but we make it work. read more

After trying a handful of other places, Kami Ramen is the best ramen we have found in Alaska. It still doesn't quite compare to our favorites at Uma Uma down in Maryland, but it's the best we have found out here. The broth is rich, the noodles taste fresh, and they have a variety of toppings/add-ons. We weren't intrigued by anything else on the menu, but at least we know the ramen is reliable, and so is the service. Parking can be a little rough, but the restaurant has always been busy when we went. read more

Favorite ramen place in town, they are fast, friendly, and super efficient staff who makes some awesome ramen. Not a huge place so no large groups, but if you're looking for affordable, delicious ramen, this is the place to go read more

I highly recommend the ramen here. What differentiates the good from the merely decent? The broth of course. The broth here is some of the best I have had anywhere. Just absolutely delicious. The default meat is chicken breast, which I found a bit odd. I prefer to have the sliced pork, which was an add on. There was only 1/2 of an egg, which is a bit stingy but it was delicious nonetheless. I left full. The only detractor was the nonstop jibber jabber of two people sitting next to me, but that is not the fault of the proprietor. Highly recommended read more

Always the bomb food and really quick service especially on takeout. Pretty much make us a place every time I come to town.

Great ramen spot in anchorage. Ramen was flavorful. Cute little place and service was great. Would return to try other ramens!

I really appreciate them to keep their food authentic even though it's easy to compromise its authenticity just to please some of the locals who are just too ignorant to know that an authentic bowl of ramen noodles should come with soft-boiled egg not hard-boiled egg. The owner got yelled at by some ignorant locals who don't have a clue that this should come with soft boiled egg Not hard boiled egg. Whoever did that to them should be ashamed of themselves! Those troglodytes should learn to do their own research so as to know what an authentic bowl of ramen noodles should be. read more

I've been watching Japanese Ramen Restaurant videos and it really makes me hungry. Was told by my son who is a chef that Kami Ramen is the best representation of Japanese Ramen to eat. Yes it is! I finally went to Kami Ramen and had the Shoyu Ramen. So, the question is, "How many bowls does one eat at a time?" Will try all Ramen dishes they serve as fast as I can. That's how many bowls I want! Excellent food!!! read more

Ok, I haven't had much experience with Ramen restaurants, my daughter unit suggested it. The place is pretty small, expect a wait for a table, I bet the takeout would be just worth it. The Ramen I had was very good, it was the Miso Ramen with wood ears added. The broth was super smooth and velvety, the flavors were amazing, all the additions to the Ramen was on point. I would give it five stars, however, there were a few things that need attention to. I felt that the broth in the Ramen could have been hotter, the restaurant was super chilly thanks to the crowd waiting at the door. The second would item to improve was bringing more hot green tea, or serve it with a small pot, one little cup was disappointing and it was also lukewarm. Beyond that, I will be going back as often as allowed, very very good. read more

Delicious! Super busy spot but staff works feverishly to keep tables moving and wait down. Food was amazing. Atmosphere perfect.
