Oh my goodness. This is the only places where I could eat the beans because I don't really like beans. The portion was great and the food was really good! Probably one of the best Mexican restaurant I've had. However, the wait was soooo long. We had to flagged down our servers so many times and our food took about 30-40 minutes to come out even though there were only 3 tables at the time. read more

Even asked for feedback! What an amazing woman. Protect and keep her at all costs lol. Btw, super fun and beautiful! Definitely my favorite restaurant in town. Food is always 10/10! read more

Visited the location by Old town and the first of and location where great. My wife and I ordered the green chile chicken and mole enchiladas and they were delicious. I would prefer shredded chicken instead of cube cut but the flavor made up of it. I recommend this place. read more

Came here on a Friday night to celebrate my friend's birthday around 7:30pm - actually, it wasn't too packed yet and I was able to find parking at the tire shop nearby. There was complimentary parking that night as well, which made it easy for the rest of the party to find a spot. Upon entering, I could tell this was a go-to spot for birthdays and celebrations, as the calaveras kept coming out! It's pretty loud inside, especially since the music is blaring too. If you're not into flashing lights, just beware as the colors of the lights change frequently. We had a party of 17, which was accommodated pretty nicely with two tables. The waiters did a great job coordinating everything and making sure that we were served. All in all, though, the reason for the three stars just had to be the food and overall ambience - great for a big, energetic party, just not the vibe for me. read more

Kalaveras - Quesadillas - Mexican Near Me - Orange, California

This place is very interesting. It's a Mexican restaurant that meets a mini nightclub. Once you walk in you'll be met with flashing lights, giant tv screens playing music videos, and loud music. They truly want to get the party started. The food was good! The big criticism I have was for the burrito. Was the meat delicious? Absolutely! However it was not evenly distributed within the tortilla. So some bites I got a combination of all the ingredients. Others I got mostly tortilla. I think they need to be trained on evenly distributing ingredients to make a perfect burrito. Service was hit and miss. Sometimes the server was super fast and other times he wasn't. Parking is easy, as long as you don't get double parked. With how their parking lot is set up, people will block you in. Then you have to search the restaurant to find the person to move their car. I think they need to make clear markings on the ground so people don't assume they are in a parking spot. When they are actually blocking about 4-5 cars. Overall I might return but honestly there are some better places right up the street. read more

Drinks here are amazing! The sushi was ok, not your traditional style but is doable. Vibe is fun

Great place to hangout with a large group. We came during happy hour and it was LIT. They don't have a lot of items on their happy hour food but it was ok. Service was top notch when we went. Will go back for more happy hour. read more

Everything was good until we wanted to leave. It took 30 minutes for our waitress to check us out. It shouldn't take that long. We had somewhere else to be and we were trying to hurry up but she kept messing up the order and coming back 10 minutes later. Very very frustrating. Please be aware of the waitress plus size. She is a bit slow. read more

First time here at this location, but I was just at the other location in the City Of Industry last week. Clear differences, which I will share! I liked how attentive they are in customer service and being readily available. The decor and setup are consistent with other locations. Ordered: HH Queso fundido HH Potato taquitos HH Nachos added carne asada meat Albondigas soup Mango michelada Original michelada Lime margarita Queso fundido is yummy, great, tasty, gooey, hot! Get it! It was so delicious. It comes with flour tortillas. Nachos was ugh!! It's smaller than other locations and very lack luster. Added carne asada, which there was an upcharge of $8! I didn't mind the cost, but this was pretty outrageous, especially because there was hardly any meat on the nachos! They were minced pieces, and the nachos by themselves look poorly topped. The toppings were just sad looking. It was like they were down to the last portion left in the kitchen and didn't have enough to make the nachos. I say this is because the other location I went to in the City of Industry where I ordered carne asada fries and it was awesomeeeeee. I mean AWESOME!!! DO NOT GET NACHOS HERE, and DO NOT add meat! Get 2 appetizers on HH instead, so you can be happy to leave a better review regarding the food. For HH drinks, spicy lime margaritas are it!! Very good and you'll be glad you got it!! Everything else we got was bleh. Albondigas soup looks ok and is a bit pricey at $14. I'd say get a regular entree instead. I will come back again and will only get the queso fundido and spicy lime margarit againa. Their taco Tuesdays look fun! Great specials. Staff is cheerful and helpful! Thanks! read more

Amazing service by Kristine She was very attentive. She was on top of everything. She was also extremely friendly.

Came here with a group of girls on a Friday night and service was excellent! Our waitress Kristine was amazing and was always making sure we didn't need anything and was very attentive with everything! Would definitely be coming back and let me tell you the vibes were everything! I had a chicken taco and an asada taco and both were very good. Definitely recommend coming to this location! read more

Giving me what I ordered would be great start. I didn't appreciate the lip service reply. A better response would have been come back (for a third time) and pick up a replacement order. No worries there are a hundred places that sell tacos nearby. Just not this one. read more

Waited over an hour for a server and not one server came to serve us. There were servers standing around and not one of the servers attempted to serve us. After an hour of waiting we finally left. Kavaleras is a trendy and tasty spot. I went here for a quick lunch during a workday. It was quick, yummy, and had a cool ambience. The interior looks really cool with bright lights, music, and cool "graffiti" style artwork. The portions are good sizes and very good. Would recommend the wet burrito (with green sauce) or the enchiladas suizas. You can tell the meats and ingredients are high quality here as it definitely a step up from other Mexican food chains. I'd imagine it's more of a bar/going out scene during the evening given the bright lights and music so something to keep in mind if you're into that or not. read more

All I can say is WOWWW!!! You have to find your way to the Orange/Santa Ana Mainplace area and pop in. I was blown away by the amazing service and vibes are definitely Day of the Dead (very different and cool!) Food was 5+ stars! Amazingly tasty Guacamole, which comes with chips and chicharron. Also ordered the fajitas and tacos Gobernador, and all the meat and seafood was seasoned and cooked to perfection. If you haven't been here, make plans asap! I can't wait to try the weekend brunch and happy hour menus. I will definitely be back soon for more! read more

This was my first time visiting. We made a reservation but we still had to wait a bit to be seated. Once we got seated, we were served quickly. I ordered the Paloma Negra and two Shrimp Tacos. Horrible service, it was not a busy day, January 31st, around 1pm. Not even our drink orders were taken after twenty minutes, despite being one of two groups in the restaurant, and the group that arrived almost ten minutes after us got their orders taken and appetizers minutes after they sat down. BEFORE WE EVEN GOT OUR DRINK ORDERS TAKEN. We felt no need to tolerate this, and left. I wish I could give zero stars because this is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Food was amazing our server Rosie was amazing always check on us she was welcoming and good service sweetest person ever!

The ambiance is fabulous and the food is great. The reason this review is five stars comes down to the service. Especially the server. We came with a party of nine for the Sunday brunch. We were blessed with Victoria being our server. Not only was she attentive and efficient, but incredibly charismatic and engaging. Do yourselves a favor and request Victoria by name when you attend the Sunday brunch. read more

Kalaveras - Cool bar area and good music - Mexican Near Me - Orange, California

This review is solely based on their Taco Tuesdays. Cassie F. and I came to check it out. To my surprise, there were only 3 tables including us on Tuesday during lunch time. The place was dimly lit and lots of neon colors with black light even when in the afternoon. Felt like we were playing indoor mini golf. Tacos are $1.49 each and you can pick from carne asada, carnitas, barbacoa, pork belly, chicken, or mushroom. We also ordered chicken taquitos as an appetizer. I love how it's set up buffet style for tacos. Tacos are juicy authentic, come with corn tortillas, and a lot of different condiments. I wished they have flour tortillas as an option other than corn tortillas. I might have to sneak in flour tortillas next time to get my ultimate fix haha. Jk. read more

There's a good sized parking lot in the back and I noticed that they had patio seating also. Walked in and it's definitely a party atmosphere. Almost feels like a club with how loud they had the volume at. There's bright colors all along the walls and music videos playing on the TV's. I understand they are trying to create a vibe here, but they need to turn down the music especially since the music they were playing was bass heavy. It was difficult for me to converse with my wife who was just sitting across from me. The menu was pretty extensive and so are the drinks. I ordered the fajitas and I have to say that it was pretty tasty, but a little too salty for me. The tortillas definitely helped with that. The tequila sampler was just ok. I think they forget that the sizes of the drinks are smaller than normal and so are a bit heavy on the tequila or their mix is all off due to the size. Overall, it's a festive atmosphere if you want to come for drinks and food, but if you want to talk, this is not the place to do it. read more

Mexican foodie review: So yes, this place looks great and the vibe inside is appealing. The service is not the most attentive and hospitable but it's a chain so... Taco Tuesday special is a little underwhelming. The flavor of the food is good but not as good as the image it sells. I think it's a solid spot for the experience but definitely not a foodie destination. Solid 3.5 overall but I will give a 4 for effort. read more
