Nut allergy friendly: Sesame, but no nuts in the bowls! Time to Appetizer: 7 Minutes Time to Entree: 10 Minutes We came in around 7:30PM and got seated as a party of five with no wait, but it did get a bit busy while we were there. I think 15 minute wait was the longest I heard. We ordered the takoyaki (shared, one piece each) and I got the #1 Homura Aburasoba with an extra piece of chashu. I didn't add anything to mine for sauces. The takoyaki was nothing special, but I got a nice chunk of octopus. (3.5/5) When I saw the photos online, I thought these looked like decorated Indomie mi Goreng dishes. And that's basically exactly what they are. Reviews say that they're filling, but I wasn't that full after finishing mine. It's satisfying but almost all carbs. The flavor was good and I liked the hint of seafood through the fish powder, but it comes at a price point that's a tad high for me for what's in the bowl. Would still recommend ordering 1-2 extra Chashu though. I tried my friend's Original Aburasoba and the flavor profiles are pretty different, so the sauces and toppings definitely play a role. The noodles do soak things up. It was a cool experience but I wasn't blown away. I would bring people for a novelty dish once, probably wouldn't come back.

Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 My friend saw this spot on social media so we all went to try during our trip to seattle. They specializes in soupless ramen, which was something new for me. We started with the original karaage and takoyaki. Both were solid appetizers, neither really stood out in a memorable way. For mains, we ordered some of their more popular bowls which are: The roast beef & meat lover and the homura. Presentation wise, the bowls were all 10/10 visually. As for flavor it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. The more I ate, the heavier the bowls felt, leaning towards greasy and salty by the end. I ended up taking most of mine to go, and my friend said the same. The noodles had a great chew and texture throughout. I was also hoping the roast beef would be more tender, but the cuts I had were all pretty chewy. Overall, it was an interesting experience and definitely photogenic, but not somewhere I'd personally go back to.

I have been to Kajiken a couple of times since the time of this review, and I can say that this is one of the better places that will give you a bang for your buck in the Cap Hill area. I have only been here during the dinner hours (6 - 7PM) so I can't really say how it is during the lunch rush. Due to how close it is via the 2 line light rail, I haven't visited Kajiken via driving, so I can't really say definitively how the parking situation is. But looking at the restaurant exterior, I think the closest parking situation would be streetside near Cal Anderson park, which for sure will be difficult to find spots as anywhere in Cap Hill would be. From the light rail station, it is only a 10 minute walk at most, which is very accessible and great. Service is fast at the restaurant - even during a busy dinner rush, we were able to always get our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I have tried the Nikumori Aburasoba ($19) and the Homura Aburasoba ($19). They were both absolutely delicious! I think my first visit, I thought that the bowls were a bit small, but the more I ate it, the more filling it feels, and by the end, I felt comfortably full. These noodles are scrumptious, with a pleasing chew. Complimented by the savory and extremely flavorful sauce that clings nicely to the noodles, which is further enhanced by the creaminess of the egg yolk, give these bowls a very enjoyable flavor profile. I really liked the Nikumori bowl, as they are generous with the chashu slices and there is minced pork too! The pork is cooked perfectly - nice chew and meaty in texture, coated in the savory sauce and not too fatty to the point where you get overwhelmed eating it. I think it does lean a little bit pricey, but I guess that $17 - $20 is pretty much the standard for ramen nowadays in Seattle. But I think that Kajiken really hits the aburasoba cravings really well with their quantity and quality. I would come back to try their other options.

Second visit and still not disappointed. Each Aburasoba taste delicious but distinct. We have yet to find any menu item we didn't like. The chewiness of the soba is just perfect As the suggestion, the vinegar and chili oil are on point too. They are on the milder side so you can still enjoy the base flavor of the aburasoba sauces. Service is super fast too. It felt like we just ordered when our soba are ready. The only small drawback is that parking can be tricky around this neighborhood.

We came here because the wait at ramen danbo was too long so we didn't expect much and honestly it was very mid. The flavorless broth wasn't well seasoned enough and at one point, it felt too dry and difficult to swallow. I'm glad I gave this spot a try but I wouldn't come back. Also, the service is very lacking in my opinion. The girl working there just dropped off our food without saying anything expecting us to know how to eat this ramen (do we mix it first? Do we add any seasoning to it? There was no instruction) Not to mention, the servers would keep checking their phones and chatting while we wanted to add more topping or even get the bill to pay. I'd say this spot wasn't worth spending $66 for 2 people for a casual lunch.

Loved all the dishes! The place was chill, not extremely busy, we only had a few min wait for 3 people. They were super quick bringing out the food too.

Parking on Broadway can be a headache, especially on weekends, but i had no trouble finding street parking in the surrounding residential blocks during a weekday dinner time. The space itself is clean and well-designed with a comfortable waiting area for when the line gets long. The vibe is relaxed without being loud. There was no wait at 5:30 and i got seated right away! It started packing up around 6-6:30 :). Staff were warm, genuinely helpful, and patient as we took our time working through the menu. No hovering, no pressure. I went with the homura soba and it did not disappoint. The noodles were springy, chewy, and satisfying, and the ground pork and bamboo shoots were standouts. We also shared the chicken karaage with oroshi and the takoyaki, both solid. I also added a side of two-piece chashu pork for extra protein in my soba which was perfect, I'd do again in a heartbeat. The table condiments (chili oil, garlic flakes, sesame seeds, vinegar) are a nice touch for customizing your bowl, although i recommend being careful with how much you put in there as I got heavy-handed and it turned salty fast. Being right on Broadway also means plenty of dessert spots nearby to round out the meal. I went to salt n straw afterwards and ended the evening perfectly. I'm already eyeing the mushroom soba for my next visit.

Kajiken specializes in aburasoba, which for the uninitiated is like a ramen coated in a greasy sauce with toppings as opposed to a fatty broth. Went with some friends on a Saturday around 6PM and unlike the earlier reviews from when they just opened, there were plenty of tables available and no line. Agedashi Tofu (2.75/5): Really, really bland and the fry was a bit too short and there wasn't really a crisp at all. Homura Aburasoba (3/5): Noodles are solid enough and the fresh herbs are a nice touch. The ground pork was just okay though and generally the sauce was a bit too thin to really carry the flavor. Roast Beef Aburasoba (4/5): Surprisingly enjoyed this more than the signature. Roast beef is actually very tender and the yogurt adds a great bit of tang and creaminess on top of the seasoned egg yolk.

Soboro Aburasoba, Pan Fried Gyoza, and Soboro Rice. Very quick service and amazing customer service. Clean and well put location.

The food was amazing. Very well put together ingredients. The staff was very efficient and kind through the dining experience. Small restaurant but very well run and kept. Would come here again.

I've given dry ramen a try many times before and did not like it, but I was very pleasantly surprised by Kajiken! We ordered on an iPad and got seated after. It wasn't too crowded, especially compared to a lot of the restaurants in the area. I got the roast beef aburasoba. The sauce was incredible and had so much flavor and was so creamy and savory, especially when mixed in with the raw egg. The noodles were soft and paired nicely with the beef. I was so impressed and would definitely come back!

I came here just trying to catch up with a friend, but honestly? We both got distracted the second the food hit the table. The noodles were perfectly chewy, packed with flavor, and somehow got even better with every bite after mixing everything together.

Kajiken was seriously amazing. I got the Homura aburosoba and it absolutely hit. I just got back from Japan recently and this dish can honestly compete with the real deal. It tasted legit and did not feel like a watered down version at all. The noodles were perfectly cooked with great texture and sauce coverage. Definitely keep the raw egg in there because it makes everything richer and smoother once you mix it all together. They also have vinegar and chili oil at the table and I highly recommend adding vinegar. It boosts the flavor and balances everything out so well. Service was shockingly fast, like blink and your food is already on the table fast. The vibes were also great. Big glass windows looking out at the park across the street made the space feel open and lively, which is a nice change from cramped noodle spots. Prices are very fair for how good the food is, especially considering the quality and portion size. This is an easy recommend and a place I would happily come back to again when craving aburasoba that actually tastes authentic.

The ramen was incredibly flavorful--rich, comforting, and exactly what you want. Everything tasted fresh and well thought out. I also ordered a draft root beer which was honestly so good and a fun change from the usual. We came with kids and they made the experience extra special. The kids got to pick out a Pokémon card at the bar (huge win), and our waitress went above and beyond--she was so warm and attentive. She even brought the kids Pocky for dessert, which was such a sweet touch. We also ordered the fried chicken--$8 for a huge portion, which is an amazing deal. The dipping sauce was delicious. Personally, I'd prefer the pieces to be a bit smaller, but that's just a minor preference, As well as a real utensils would be nice over plastic.
