Kaia is the kind of restaurant that understands exactly what kind of night you are trying to have, then quietly makes sure nothing gets in the way of it. Tucked into the South End with sightlines that stretch toward the Prudential Center, Kaia leans into a polished coastal Greek identity without feeling staged or precious. The room has class, busy in the best way on a weekend, softly lit with just enough mystery to feel like a night out rather than a meal under bright lights. The staff immediately sets the tone, well dressed, composed, and confident in a way that signals you are in good hands before you ever open the menu. Service is where Kaia really separates itself. Our server walked us through the menu clearly and thoughtfully, not by dictating what to order but by helping refine what we already had in mind. She explained how the menu flows, suggested how dishes could build on one another, and then offered to course everything in a way that made sense. That decision alone elevated the entire experience. Drinks arrived quickly, which mattered, especially early in the night, and the pacing from there never faltered. Plates came when they should, waters stayed full, and we were given space to enjoy ourselves without ever feeling unattended. The cocktail program fits the restaurant perfectly. The Pear & Mahkwan, built on Elijah Craig Rye with Cocchi Americano, pear, osmanthus, and mahkwan pepper, was balanced and expressive without being flashy. The Loomi & Yuzu, brightened with black lime, ginger, and Greek sparkling wine, leaned refreshing and celebratory. Both felt intentional, not filler drinks designed to pad a menu. Food at Kaia is designed to be shared, and it shows. The zucchini chips arrived first, crisp and addictive, anchored by tzatziki powder and garos caramel yogurt. In a neighborhood with no shortage of Greek restaurants known for zucchini chips, these more than held their own. The octopus followed and immediately became the standout of the night. Perfectly cooked, tender without losing texture, and paired with a sauce so good it demanded to be used beyond its plate, it was the kind of dish that makes you stop mid-conversation. It was so good that the zucchini chips were dipped into it long after their own accompaniment was gone. The lamb neck was rich and comforting, wrapped in zucchini pita with sunflower yogurt and mint jam, a dish that felt hearty without being heavy. The Spanish mackerel was good, clean, and well executed, though it played more like a well-prepared white fish than a dish meant to steal attention. It was not a miss, just outshined by plates that took bigger swings. The cuttlefish, served over kritharoto with manouri, squid essence, and preserved Meyer lemon, arrived later in the meal and quietly impressed. Deeply flavorful and complex, it might have rivaled the octopus for top billing had it come earlier. Even as leftovers the next day, it held its own, which says a lot. What really seals Kaia as a place worth returning to is how well it handles moments that matter. Without prompting, the staff acknowledged our anniversary with a signed card and celebratory champagne, a gesture that felt sincere rather than performative. It was thoughtful, well timed, and completely aligned with the kind of experience Kaia is trying to create. Kaia is not a casual drop-in spot, and it is not trying to be. It is a celebratory restaurant, best enjoyed with people you are comfortable sharing food, conversation, and time with. The pricing reflects the quality and care behind the dishes, and in this case, it feels earned. This is the kind of place you return to, both to revisit favorite plates and to trust the kitchen with something new. For a celebratory night done right, Kaia delivers. read more

Mid Drinks and bar were excellent Meal was average at best where 50% of the meal was not liked by my party of 4 Spanakopita was excellent Shrimp not edible Desert just plain strange and sort of tasteless Service was good and friendly yet at the bar when a regular or even a prior staff member came to visit that was a interference in our service being attentive to us Gorgeous ambiance yet the meal was underwhelming We will not be returning next year for our annual girls dinner and will venture to either a new restaurant or right next door. read more

The only reason this is three vs four stars is the pricing really sets the standard higher than this. The decor was intentionally minimalistic and pretty, but there are many more engaging aesthetics in the area. The service was excellent with friendly, attentive staff and both drinks and food coming out quickly. But considering the pricing, the food was just good not great. Octopus was probably the best dish I tried. It had a char but was not overcooked and very tender. The raw tuna was a quite generous size but I was disappointed by how little flavor it had. Spanakopita was very good. Drinks tasted good and were unique but were half pours or filled with ice so you get very little value for the cost. Kaia is worth a visit but there are comparable restaurants for a much better value and similar priced restaurants that will impress you more for a special occasion. read more

The interior of this place is beautiful! It's such a nice restaurant - the lights are perfectly dimmed and perfect for a date night or a birthday celebration. We came here on a Monday and it was pretty busy! The service was quick - we got all of our food and paid the bill within an hour and a half. I was a big fan of the spanikopita and the octopus was well liked by my fiancé. The zucchini chips were good but a tad salty same with the beet chips . But overall yummy read more

I went here for just food and had a nice dinner. The restaurant has a really incredible ambiance. I loved the attention to detail on every part of the experience. The food was good I tried the zucchini chips, spinach pie, and octopus. The zucchini chips were definitely the star of the show, outstanding. The spinach pie was pretty and tasty as well. The octopus was good but not great, a little rubbery. We did get seated at the bar because they don't sit people at tables after 8:30. The service was quite fast though. FINALLY!! a place worth the hype!! Kaia is amazing. Their ability to bring a beachy vibe to cold Boston was impressive, and every server we interacted with was incredibly sweet and bubbly. The food... impeccable. They add unique twists to dishes and they're neither fake pretentious nor do they ruin the dish. The octopus was probably the best dish I've ever had including the amazing octopus dishes I had in Lisbon. The spanakopita and potatoes were so light but rich with flavor, and the tuna crudo was funky but definitely a good new eat! This is definitely one of my new favorite places in boston, check it out asap! read more

One of the best meals I've had in Boston. Incredibly delicious. Went on a group and had the caviar bread, mushroom, feta, octopus, apple, and steam style fish of the day. I can't say enough about the mushroom. I can't believe how amazing it was. The pork dish was a new addition to the menu, so well cooked. And they need to bottle that sauce and sell it. The fish was definitely the crescendo and was hands down one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. The octopus was cooked and charred perfectly. This was very much on par with food I had in Athens. The service is also impeccable. Everyone from The hosts to the servers to the person who carved the fish table side were attentive and friendly. Knowing exactly when to check in and ensured we were enjoying ourselves. This was a birthday dinner and the servers gave a special touch that was the sweetest gesture. 10/10 recommend Kaia read more

Great food and vibey atmosphere. Perfect for a girls dinner or date! I absolutely loved the orange wine selection which paired really well with the food. We tried a lot of different dishes and the service was incredible. Zucchini chips with caviar: 4/5 because the caviar wasn't salty enough in my opinion Prawns: 5/5 the tzatziki with the squid ink was out of this world. Absolutely incredible. The dish is only one giant prawn but can still be shared amongst 2-3 people Cod cheeks: 4/5 very good, mellow on flavor and a nice consistency Broccolini: 5/5 this veggie dish was incredible. Crunchy broccolini with the perfect amount of crunch. I could have ordered two of these. Grilled fish: 5/5 the favors of honey and lemon accompanied this perfectly cooked fish. One fish can be shared 4 ways. It is pricey at $90. Loukamades: 3/5 I usually enjoy these donuts in Greece but these were a tad harder and I think they could do with softening them. Overall great meal, definitely a bit on the pricier side but luckily all the dishes are meant to be shared. read more

Had a reservation for four. Servers were sweet and asked if they could take our coats away to hang up, and kept checking in with us throughout the meal. The plates and cutlery were so unique and well designed. Ambiance was nice. I highly recommend the zucchini chips. They aren't like the typical zucchini chips I'm used to. They're thicker and covered in tzatziki powder. The whole grilled fish also tasted so good with the orange blossom honey, and they pour it in front of you. Everything else was more or less served in tapas/shareable format. read more

The only good thing about this place is the restaurant staff. First, would avoid the patio, they have wooden blocks to sit on with tiny tables and no place to keep dishes, despite the tapas style menu. Second, the food is incredibly overpriced and subpar. The zucchini chips have triple the amount of fried crust vs zucchini and overly salted. Same with the feta / stinky tofu. read more

Kaia has officially earned a spot on my list of favorite restaurants in Boston--and that's not something I say lightly. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone. Warm, inviting, and effortlessly chic, Kaia strikes that perfect balance between lively and intimate. It's the kind of space that makes you want to settle in--soft lighting, a relaxed buzz from surrounding tables, and an energy that feels ideal for long dinners with friends. The service matched the atmosphere: impeccable. Thoughtful, warm, and spot-on with every recommendation, especially when it came to wine. Which brings me to a new obsession--orange wine. The Muscat of Alexandria is an absolute must-try: floral, crisp, and dangerously drinkable. If you're sharing, get the bottle. It's beautifully priced and completely worth it. The food was exceptional across the board. The spinach spanakopita deserves its own love letter--easily the best we've ever had. Flaky, savory perfection, so good we had to order a second for the table. Seafood lovers, take note. The octopus, shrimp, crab, and tuna dishes were true standouts, each showcasing its own distinct flavors and textures while still feeling cohesive and thoughtfully prepared. Every plate felt special. Kaia is the kind of place made for gathering--great food, great wine, and an atmosphere that encourages you to linger. I already can't wait to go back. read more

I've been meaning to try this place since it opened and I came here for dinner for Valentine's Day! We made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance since places tend to be booked! I love how they had an open kitchen and love the aesthetic decor that they have! They definitely set the mood for a good date night! Our waiter was amazing, he explained the menu to us and always checked in on us! For Valentine's Day they had special cocktails which we tried and they were definitely strong but yummy! For food we got the grilled whole fish which is definitely a must get when you're here! It was so flavorful and the fish was so tender! We also tried the spanakopita (Spanish pie), amazing flavor!, broccolini (was crispy and so tasty!), the squid (definitely a unique way to serve this as a spring roll and was yummy), the octopus (was so tender and flavorful!), and the gyro (the lamb had so much flavor and love the sides that you can build your own gyro!). They also had a special dessert which was a pistachio baklava with pomelo gelato which was sooo yummy, perfect way to end the night! They also gifted us a small box of their own baklava to take home which was so nice! I was amazed at how good everything was, I would definitely come again! It is on the pricier side so definitely worth to come here on special occasions!! read more

Every dish here was incredible! It's meant to be family style/shared which we were appreciative of so everyone got a taste of something different. The fish of the day was a grilled sea bream which was amazing, but the standouts to us were the lamb gyro and potato three way dish. The espresso martinis were our dessert - chicory and cardamom infused with a hefty whip on top. Can't forget to mention the service - very attentive and on par with a 5 star place. SO GOOD! read more

First impression - this vibe is so beautiful. Did not feel like typical Boston restaurants- was very lively bar scene and vibey Inside. One thing I did not love was that the tables are shared with other guests - which I am not a fan of for a luxury restaurant but it is a small space. The pricing is definitely on pricey side- most small plates were $20 plus and the fish entrees were $90 dollars plus. We ordered about 4 small plates and two starters and split the lobster pasta for the bill to be around $230 dollars with us only getting 3 cocktails total. The drinks were insanely good though and the food was very good. The overall experience was unique and the server was spectacular. This is somewhere I would go back for drinks and apps with my girlfriends but probably not for a date night. read more

Personally this spot is a bit overhyped by online influencers. The Mint and Cucumber cocktail was very diluted for me and their octopus was so rubbery and chewy. I did like their interior design though it was calming and pleasant to be in. Wish the food was a bit better for the price though. Service was the usual, nothing great but nothing awful. read more

The service was PHENOMENAL!!!! Randy was so personable and kind while also having so much knowledge of the menu. He was such a spectacular server--one of a kind!! Food is amazing. Service is specular, and the ambiance is spectacular! Takes you to a beautiful modern Mediterranean villa. Must try.

Food was very good. Service was incredibly slow. Ambience was like being in a club- super loud dance music, dim lighting. I'm sure some people are into that but I'm not a big fan. Expensive for the lack of service and crazy loud music. Probably won't go back. read more

What a great addition to the Xenia Hospitality restaurant group! Kaia is everything elegant but sexy! The ambiance and beautiful touches across the restaurant decor creates a great vibe for an evening for friends of date night! The hospitality of the staff is undeniable. I made a reservation for one during opening weekend. Upon arrival I was welcomed at the door by a greeter who opened the door for me. The hostess were cute, bubbly and immediately acknowledged my reservation seating me promptly. Overall, the atmosphere for me was a 10/10. I was welcomed with water at the table and then my waiter immediately greeted me advising of the various various venue items, including his favorites which was appreciated. I decided to keep things light as it was just me and went with the smoked carrots and feta dip. I never thought smoke carrots could taste so good and the dip to compliment was absolutely delicious! The wine selection was overwhelming so I went with a suggestion by my waitress which did not disappoint. I really wish I could remember what it was cuz it was delicious. I ended with the peach and pepper cocktail which is reminiscent of an old fashioned which is my typical go-to drink. This was more of a light smooth version of my favorite cocktail, which I really enjoyed. All in all, I would absolutely visit again next time with some friends who can enjoy and some of the various meze and main dishes with me! Congratulations Kaia, you're doing a great job so far! read more

Wowwwwwwwwwwww. One of the top new restaurants in the WORLD according to Conde Nast. What an amazing dining experience. The server was amazing-loved her. Loved the food runner who thoroughly explained everything. Beautiful clean and spacious! I love a spacious restaurant in a city where you are typically a fingers length away from the table next to you. The bathrooms were also amazing with sea salt scrub and lotion. Every sip and every bite was an experience. I love great food and drink. Small plates sharable concept we found 6 dishes were plenty and filling for the both of us. Caviar and zucchini chips-just order it-insane! Octopus-super tender and great charred flavor. Potato with activated charcoal-yup. Broccolini with vegan aioli-say whatttt!! The Prawn? I wanted 10 more. Cod cheeks-blew me away and was the dish that got the chef hired. We had no room for dessert but will be back to try the other items and save room for dessert soon! Thank you Kaia for a perfect anniversary celebration. read more

Oustanding experience from start to finish! Began with a warm welcome from the hostess even though we didn't have reservations. We were seated at the lovely bar with great views of the upscale space. Bartender was attentive and knowledgable about the menu. He provided great recommendations as we ordered. We interacted with several servers as they delivered our food --- their enthusiasm for the food was infections and spot-on. It was fun to eat in a place with such an engaged staff. New Mediterranean restaurant in town! Recently lots of successful Mediterranean restaurants are settling in. We were so excited to try it for special occasion. Server recommended us to have 2 sharable plates per person and a whole fish. It turned out that it was too filling for two girls but we enjoyed! Grilled fish was definitely something that you should try! Also want to try other fishes too. Potato was great but filling. Chips were great !!!! I couldn't stop picking. Mushroom was interesting, not only the tastes but also the plate cooking and garnishes! Cod cheek was really good and it was our server's favorite too. Cocktails were good, but not exceptional. Last Saturday, my husband and I visited Kaia, the new Mediterranean-inspired spot in Boston's South End. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, with soft lighting, airy coastal accents, and a warm, attentive staff who made us feel at ease when we walked in. Drawing inspiration from Aegean coastal charm, it felt like stepping into a breezy seaside retreat. We had a table booked, but when two bar seats opened up, we chose to sit there instead--and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. We started with two small plates: the Crab Claw, perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness and heat, and the Oyster, bright and briny with a subtle herbaceous kick. The freshness of the ingredients stood out, and the plating was clean and elegant. Alex, our bartender, expertly recommended a crisp white for me, which paired seamlessly with the seafood. My husband opted for a tequila cocktail served over crushed ice with a citrusy kick that worked perfectly with everything we ordered. Next was the Dakos (one of my favorites in Greek food), which was beautifully balanced with a satisfying mix of textures. For drinks, I went with the tequila cocktail my husband had earlier--it was just as good the second time--and he tried a vodka cocktail that was smooth and full of flavor. Lastly, although pretty full, we could not resist a Bourdeto- a hearty fish prepared in a rich broth with tomato and peppers. The flavors were deeply layered, smoky, and comforting--a labor of love from the chef. The meal and ambiance at Kaia reminded us of our trip to Spetses a few years ago, a small, charming island in the Aegean with its tranquil vibe and unforgettable food. It felt like a bit of escape to the Aegean in Boston. read more

It's a beautiful restaurant with lovely staff. The food, however, was not up to par with Krazi or Bar Vlaha. The tuna crudo did not have a lot of flavor and the crispy lamb gyro ($38 for half) was overly salted. Vodka martinis ($20 each) were not bone dry as requested but sweetened with vermouth. Sadly, the pasta dish had a piece of plastic in it that the manager was kind enough to take this away. read more

Today 3/21 is my birthday, we decided to come here for dinner as our celebration. I am here with my husband for 7pm reservation at 6:55pm. The positives: Beautiful decor. Excellent service and food. The negatives: We had an early reservation and there were only a few customers at the bar, the restaurant was empty. They seated us at the worst table, near the bathroom. When we asked to be moved, they had to check because they had "reservations." They did move us finally but that was not good. The big thing is it is tremendously overpriced. Our dinner for 2 was $450 and we did not order big. It is impossible to not spend a lot of money here. $22 for bread!!! Yes it had a caviar butter but not worth it. The cheapest wine was $75 and next one up was in the $100's. We live in the neighborhood and often dine locally. Again, decor, food and service (with exception of our first table) were great. Less expensive food and wine options will be the only way we come back. read more
