The usual wait for a Junior race is 1.5 hours, too long, but OK. Today we drove 40 minutes to K1 for them to tell us it's a 3 hour wait. No reservation system for small groups, walk in only! With extensive waiting. Maybe ok if you live around the block, check in and go home. For us to spend 4.5 hours for a 5 minute race is not manageable. Poor business model!!! You are business, it's great! You should have no problem managing this with reservations and walk ins. read more

I've been to Dublin K1 a few dozen times, being one of my favorite tracks in the Bay area to set lap times on. It's one of the easier tracks to memorize and chisel away milliseconds, but as always getting a good kart is a luck of the draw. Some of the employees have noticed who's fast and who's not and rewarding certain drivers with karts that are noticeably less used and therefor give more grip and ideal suspension for faster laps. For the most part, the employees try and reserve the track for fast and loyal customers, which I really appreciate seeing as a large majority of the customer base are young adults or kids who are there to experience gokart racing for the first time. Granted, we can't always have the most flawless race every time - as customers skill levels will always vary from time to time. I've held a handful of events here within my group of friends, and whenever we get paired with unexperienced racers that slow down the entire race and provide an overall bad experience - Ken has handled it and credited us with another race. Unfortunately the trend of super helpful customer service streak ended. When I went to customer service to request that a race be credited back to us when a particularly new racer who really as experienced as our group slowed down a good portion of our race beyond what was acceptable - I was told that they couldn't do anything about it. I was really confused by that answer, and when I asked if the older gentleman manager (General Manager Ken Lewis) was around and he just replied that he doesn't know anyone by that description, and responded that 'both the managers are teenagers.' Very odd customer service experience, so I just walked off and took the loss. read more

I wish there negative stars to give .. horrible place, rude manager! Completely disorganized place! I decided to take my son to this place as a surprise.. BIG MISTAKE! We called at 11 am and we're told they are available, wait time is 45-48 mins. We were 2 families and each drove for 45mns. Only to be told they have a private party until 8pm !!!!!!! That was at 2pm!! We complained that we were not told this info when we called. The employee who we talked to first said we can make an exception and that he will call his manager to see what can be done. It was then when we met the worst manager to a facility you can ever deal with!!! NICK is the absolute worst manager of a facility I have ever seen! He was rude, inconsiderate and has no idea what customer service means. We tried to explain that it was not our fault and they have to help us! We promised our kids, etc He was so rude, the only thing he was trying to prove that I was yelling. Went in at 1:00 they couldn't get us on a race till 3:40 but said we couldn't leave the building and if we did and missed our race we wouldn't be allowed to race. We got the 2 race package and 2 races for my little brother who is 13 and tall enough yet was made race in the kid carts. First kids race they got him on was at 4:30. After being in the building for 3.5 hours we had each done 1 race... at this point the excitement was completely dead and we just wanted to get our 2nd 12 laps over with. I asked immediately after the first heat when we would go again (my sister and I in the adult heat) the guy told us in a few races we would be up again. My little brother then did his second kids race, it's now 5:00 and we've been there for 4 hours. I ask again when we would go again and was informed that they never put us on the list for a second race so we waited another half hour so they could "squeeze us in" meanwhile they had heats running with 4-5 carts out. Absolute joke. Also they nerf the power of the carts so you may be lucky to get one full lap in with a good time. In two races I had maybe 3 laps at full speed. So over all we sat in this building for over 6 hours to do 2 races of 12 laps (average 28 seconds per lap) where we got maybe 3 laps at full speed (21 seconds per lap). They have an arcade but most of the games and machines are broken and have weeks worth of grime on them. They have beer but you aren't allowed to drink if you have races which would make sense if you didn't have to sit there all afternoon, no real food and you can't leave but you can pay $5 for some candy or chips. The place was filthy, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few weeks and the staff was clearly not getting paid enough because they just did not give a ...... So if you are going to go definitely don't try on a weekend, bring a grill for the parking lot, maybe some tri tip or a brisket, you will have time to cook it low and slow, a cooler with plenty of drinks and clear your schedule for the day. read more

Back in September of 2024 our family went to this facility for a fun outing. This outing quickly turned into a nightmare. My daughter was severely injured due to the negligence of another driver and the negligence of the staff running the track. She was rushed to the ER and given a cat scan. She had a severe concussion and was in extreme pain. I reached out to the corporate office of K1 Speed and dealt with Aziz Mourad, I explained in detail the incident and provided him with proof of our medical statements/bills. He assured me that he would not only look into this matter but escalate my request of getting reimbursed for this medical debt. I have reached out to him more than 12 times and now he is just simply ghosting me and obviously could care less that my daughter still experiences pain from this occurrence let alone the out-of-pocket expense this incident has cost our family. The party room is also a very generous size as compared to other party places. Came in today to celebrate my sons 16th birthday with a couple of his friends. We purchased ahead and the wait when we arrived wasn't long at all. My husband and I played a couple rounds of pool while we waited for the racers. $8 for a can of beer is crazy but the customer service was A1. The establishment was very well maintained and clean. Arrive and drive? More like Arrive, walk in, sign up, wait in line to pay for your races, then find out you have to pay $7 per person for a lame ass membership that you don't even want. THEN wait two hours for your first race... go shopping at the outlets to kill time then come back only to wait an additional 25 minutes. Sheeessssh, what a mess. The bathrooms were so gross. The tables and chairs equally as disgusting. I don't think I'll ever come back here or recommend anyone else to do so. Good luck trying to get a hold of someone on the phone too. I love karting and racing in general, but understand that it should be done in a safe manner. It's great that K1 has the means to limit the power output and overall speed of their karts due to the fact that they are electronically-adjustable. However, I hate that K1 doesn't ever take into account driver experience when mixing groups together. Quite often, there are slow and bad drivers that should not be put in with groups of faster more experienced drivers. They just cause conga lines to be queued up, as they hold up everyone else or they cause accidents by driving unsafely and erratically. What's worse is, the workers don't enforce the blue passing flag nearly enough, nor black flag and educate newer drivers on how and when to pull over and allow for faster drivers to pass. This really kills the fun altogether. When seemingly every other lap we get karts powered-down to 40% due to some newbie accident or other. For how expensive the sessions cost, it's simply not worth it unless you can get a private session to yourself and your friends. K1 will tell you that you can do this, but it'll cost way more. read more

Can't speak for the actual experience of this place so take this review with a grain of salt. I'm just not happy that they don't offer any accommodations for kids with disabilities. Wanted to bring my brother here, only to find out there are no disability accommodations. Also, there should be an option where an older person can drive the go kart with a younger kid next to them. This place advertises it takes walk ins and there is no need for appointments. Not true at all. Drove 45 min to be told you can come back in 6 hours. When you call they again say no appointment needed and just come on in. You can't even make a appointment. If you are having to turn people away on a daily basis you should remove from your website and recording when you call that you take walk ins. You DO NOT take walk-ins. You DEFINITELY need to set up a group racing appointment to guarantee you are able to ride. SAFETY ISSUES! I just went to the K1 Dublin with my son who is 12 and am very concerned about SAFETY. I want to report that there was a complete lack of concern for safety at this location. I checked in and gave all the information about my son. He's over 5 foot tall and the signs in the facility said you have to be over 4'10 to race with adults, so I thought he would be fine. I've never raced at a K-1 facility, so I didn't have any experience with it. When we were called to go to the cars, the young man at the front asked how old my son was. I told him that he was 12. I was a little confused about why he was asking about his age since the signage says you have to be a certain height, not age, and there was never any mention about a certain age that I saw. I asked what are the options and he didn't give any. I thought he mentioned something about speed limiting the cars, and he then told us to go to our cars. Now when I checked in and paid for the races the person at the front desk knew my kids age and could have asked me about it to see if maybe he should ride in a kids race, but this wasn't brought up at all. Again, since this was my first time driving at K1 I thought that if he met the height requirements that might be all that is needed to be safe. But that's wrong. There really should be an age separation. My son is fully capable of driving the car, but the issue is how aggressive the other (older) drivers are. You don't need to make it a hard and fast rule, but it should definitely be brought up, especially for first time riders. In addition, there was no help with getting me and my son the right size helmet and making sure it fit correctly and was strapped properly. I had to get one of the workers (who was talking with another worker instead of helping the customers get prepped) to check and help thread the strap properly through the rings. There was also no help with making sure we got strapped in properly and that the seatbelts were tightened. And there was NO safety briefing at all. I've had briefings for laser tag, so why not for these cars? I guess the main thing to mention in the brief is to tell the riders this is NOT bumper cars. Once we started, there were at least one or two people that felt like this was a form of bumper cars, and would ram people to pass them. At one point my son got hit and knocked into the wall. I went back and have read the Yelp reviews, and I have to admit, I should have paid closer attention. Some of it is about the long waits, or poor customer service, but this is about SAFETY. read more

We booked a birthday party for a Saturday afternoon for 7 teens (the minimum was 8 drivers, so my husband drove too). The booking process was easy and straightforward, and everything went smoothly. The salesperson was very communicative and accommodating in the planning process. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely helpful and courteous in every way possible. Bob was great with the teens, explained the safety briefing carefully so that they understood, and was just all around great to work with. There was a woman working with him (I did not get her name) but she was great as well. We are so glad we had our daughter's party there at Dublin K-1. The staff members were top notch and they were on top of everything. The kids had an awesome time! Thanks for making her special day memorable! read more

I would say that I heard the Santa clara track is a little big bigger than the Dublin one. I went here right when it opened, so no other racers were there. I was able to test out this track with my son, my son is only 9 been to the ssf location and he is hooked, this track at first glance looks large, upon entering you notice it is a small track. The venue is very nice, enough to keep any party happy, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the spot is very clean. On to the track, literally this track is really small 10-14 laps comes and goes really quick, I see the weekly times run in the 19's of the best of the week, best of the month, best of the year etc. For this track I honestly feel this is meant for beginners like kids that meet the height requirement haha, turns are wide enough so going full speed you don't have to let up on the gas, just go go go. Considering it is hot in this area the location is well ventilated and air conditioned. Really disappointing experience today :( Been to this location in the past and had a great time with the family but today our wait times were outrageous and there wasn't the normal amount of racing going on. We showed up in the morning to the unfortunate news that the wait time was over an hour. We decided to leave because we noticed only two workers out on the track and figured the wait time would be even longer with the pace they were moving at. We came back later in the afternoon hoping the wait times were lower and more staff was there speeding things up. We were very disappointed to find out that there was still a long wait time and there was only three workers out there working. From my experiences in the past I know there are plenty of people working there so today must have been a fluke. Either way it was unfortunate that we could not get and racing in today. read more

The karts are fun I've been here a few times, but the fact that karts are so uneven in speed due to the people controlling it is really annoying, all my races where completely different speeds and the guy would slow you down if you tried to actually pass someone like a race nextime I'll ask if they can not slow us down when we try to pass eachother but the fact the karts slow down and speed up so much is too annoying for me to come here a lot :/ the service is usually nice but after a race I was swerving and I got yelled at saying it'll break the cars which is just unprofessional. I asked if I can pay ahead to secure a spot for 8pm and they said no. I even called the corp line to confirm and they said the same thing. I will need to come back again. Worst service ever! This was the first time my friends and I were gonna do K1 speed since we heard it was fun While my friends and I were signing the waivers, one employee was asking us the info to register it on the computer, but had disappeared mid-way. The second employee came up to us and asked the same thing, which made it seem like they were going to follow through with helping us. But no, after we signed the waiver and waited for an hour and a half, we walked back to the register and they told us that the time slot was already taken. FYI it was the same employee who had asked for our info the first time. I was utterly disappointed with their service and organization in helping their customers. They need to update their systems to allow customers to make their reservations and have better organizations. Otherwise there will be similar issues in the near future. read more

Nice looking interior, nice looking speedway. That's the most I can say for the positives. Be forewarned that if this is your first time coming to K1, you'll be forced into a membership that comes with a mandatory fee. The first time total cost for 2 races came close to 60 dollars. Secondly, the racing experience is below subpar in comparison to local competitors. What I experienced at K1 was, simply put, not fun! I had a party of 4 and our first race was fine. The second round was riddled with throttles. The staff was deliberately slowing down our cars. We weren't bumping, crashing or even in close proximity to each other. I felt cheated out of the racing experience because for 2/3 of that final race, I was slowed to a pathetic crawl. The staff didn't explain to us why they slowed us down either. I attempted to contact corporate but they haven't back to me for a refund. I had more fun driving my car out of their parking lot. I would never go back here. I went ahead and registered my kids with them for the 1st time and was told that there is an offer that gives a free ride on the birthday. My 10 year old was excited and was waiting to go again for his birthday. We reached there around 1:45pm; and were told after some time that the kids race would start only after 1 hour. We waited there; and were later told to wait for half hour again. In the meantime; I could see other kids going in for rides. I asked a parent and was told that their kid got to ride within 20 mins. I asked the staff if my kid was not allowed just because it was the free birthday ride. They kept giving me excuses. I waited till 4:10pm; and decided to just go back home. Took me some time to console my son what had been waiting for weeks just for this. Very bad treatment by the staff. Not going here ever. Didn't want this for my kid's birthday. read more

I'm starting with the worst part first. My eight year old's cart was not going as fast as the others out there. I kept trying to get them to help her but it never got better. She got run into three times by other karts. On the third time, the other kart went UP ON TOP OF HER! The attendants pulled it off and pulled her out of there. No apology, they even refused to give me a refund. She had wheel skidmarks on the sleeve of her yellow t shirt. She could have been badly hurt. There's more but that's enough. Most people who are either afraid to partake in this activity or just haven't tried it - need to. It's exciting yet plenty of safety pre cautions that are taken. Majority of staff were pleasant to speak with but several times when approaching the desk near the tracks the young employees were chatting away and ignoring us. You'll enjoy the experience and they have bonuses if it's your birthday. Need to check those younger employees as they seem like they are slacking, it can be dangerous if they lose focus on the priority which is the safety of visitors. read more

We have been visiting K1 speed for many years, me and 2 of my kids. Kids are racing in their monthly tournaments. This is a history of how K1 speed went downhill Their karts are in dire need of repair / battery replacement. Over last couple years we've observed how karts started braking more & more often during the race. Personnel which we got familiar with and they got to know us, once told they are aware of the issues need new batteries. After a couple months I am visiting and I see all the new faces, new personnel hired, karts keep braking more & more due to battery issues - I guess they never changed them. Last time we've been literally told this "battery on the kart don't last full duration of the race which is 10 laps, so we can give you 75% of power for first several laps and then give full 100%". Excuse me, you still getting full price paid, right ? Prices: as a regular customer, we've been spending a lot of money and been buying their 8 races packages and considering buying 50 races packages. Those used to be a good deal. No more, price is up so it almost no discount. Personnel: a bunch of new hires recently who have no idea how karts work, don't know how races work etc. I guess all the old staff quit or replaced Software: they used to have a great system in place which showed you on the large screen during the race your time and position - all clearly visible, some time in 2021-2022 they replaced the system with a new one, which made things absolutely un-usable for months, and barely anything visible on the screen For the repeating customers they have had membership cards, which stopped working after they changed the software some time in 2022. All other things people mentioned here about walk ins are true: the only time you can get into a race by walk in, if you come early like 10am when they open up. If you come by noon, expect 3-4+ hours wait times for your races. Another good time for walk-ins is 6-8+pm on workdays. read more

This is a great place for go-carting but the associates needed more training. Our group did not have a reservation but told that walk ins are welcome and they could set us up for two races. The race time we were given was delayed and they were running behind schedule so we waited 40 minutes longer. We ended up being there for 2.5 hours for two 10-12 minute races each. This was much longer than we expected. Hopefully this location will become more efficient with scheduling and getting people in the cars and on the track. read more

We had a horrible experience on Sunday, 4/24/2022. My friend's son wanted to try the Dublin track for his 12th birthday. We had 8 kids/adults that met the height requirement for the adult karts and 3 kids doing the junior race. We got called in for the 'adult' race on time. As we were getting our helmets, the birthday boy was told he couldn't race with us because he got moved to the junior race without letting us know. When asked why, we were told that since this was his first time on this track and was not experienced, he was moved. At no point were we asked about his experience because if they did ask, they would know this kid has been on different K1 tracks at least 15 times. The junior race time was at 1:20pm so we waited. 2pm came around and no race. We asked how much longer and were told 40 minutes. Same guys told another guest it would be another 1-3 hours for the same time slot. A birthday party apparently made last minute changes which caused huge delays. From what I understood, this party added enough NEW racers during their party to take up a whole round of junior karts! I called the reservation line and was told that changes to a reservation need to be confirmed 3 days prior to the event and not the day of. We asked for refunds for the junior races and a slice of pizza that took over an hour to be ready. Tried talking to Jason, the "manager", but he could care less about us. He made no eye contact with me the whole time I tried talking with him. He doesn't know the first thing about customer service or managing his staff who did look like they were trying their best. He also told me it's up to the managers discretion to move kids from an adult race to a junior race even if they meet the height requirement. I asked why he made the call to move the birthday boy. He didn't answer my question but said he "trusts his staff to make the right decision".. this made no sense since he had just told me that he made the call. Also, even with the huge delays, they kept booking new guests at regular times without letting them know they were at least 2-3 hours behind schedule at that point. Terrible! We will never be back to this location. ***5/5/2022 In response to Janes comment below: My friend's son does meet the height requirement for the adult carts and at no point was he asked to sit in a kart to see if he could or could not safely operate the kart. Main issue is that he was signed up with the rest of the kids/adults in the adult kart group and was at some point moved to the junior karts without notifying us. read more

Second time I have gone to this place with my boys and have left disappointed and discouraged. Arrived right when the doors opened both days, and after checking in, was told we had to wait 2 hours to have a race! What kind of customer service makes people wait 2 hours over a party that hasn't even begun to arrive? They also refused to allow them to drive the larger karts, even though they met the height criteria. I argued that just 2 months prior, they allowed it.
