Great place for a birthday party! My son celebrated his 18th birthday at K1 with a group of boys and everyone had fun. Booking was simple and their group was taken care of. I booked the two race package and the boys liked seeing the stats from each race on the printout. Their group was the only one racing on the track and it was run smoothly and safely.

I highly recommend this place when you get a chance to get together with friends and family staff here is welcoming. Environment is friendly. Try it out for yourself.

Credit card authorization form to reserve the race date for large party. Offer to pay Cash- was told "No cash option" when asked

I had email conversation with Denlison from Corp group sales located in Irvin about booking a group session. She sent me a form with a notation on bottom of form "3.45% processing fee will apply for all non-cash payment". I responded back to see if I can pay with another form of payment without charges such as Cash, Zelle, check, venmo. answer was "no other form of payment was accepted". I responded to email to let Denlison know California businesses cannot legally charge a credit card convenience fee if they don't offer an alternative payment method. Since California's Senate Bill 478 took effect on July 1, 2024, it is illegal for businesses to apply surcharges or convenience fees. I sent the email to them over a week ago and I still didn't get a response. Their response so far is to ignore the email. I will take my business elsewhere. Considering to report them given that they do not follow legal business practices.

We had a great time here! We booked as a group and got to race three times. The place itself was very clean and immersive--all the decor is racing related and you can have an easy view of the track. Our stats were printed and given to each of us promptly after each race! There is a super cute ceremony setup where you get to stand on a platform for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. They give you pretty solid painted trophies as well. We had food as part of our party and it was pretty good as well. Overall we were very pleased with our experience! We had never been anywhere quite like this, so it was a fun new experience for us all.

First time here let me tell you it was so much fun $52 per person per ride which is like 7 laps Worth it. We had to wait 1 hour for the next availability. They have food and arcades . I will definitely return again. Good times with my family

I took my son and his friend here a few weeks ago on a Friday early evening. We were so lucky as hardly anyone was there yet and the blue lights had just turned on! I bought the 5 laps package and the kids had a great time racing around. Meanwhile, my friend and I had a drink and played Jenga while waiting. This place is clean and if I lived near it, I would go often. It looks great for parties and company events. There's not a ton for teens to do in the area besides shop so this is a fun activity when you want to be inside. Highly recommend it for older teens and adults. I think younger kids would be an exception as it's a shorter activity and there's a skill level needed to have fun. I'm pointing that out only because when my kids were younger and attended a party, it was confusing for them and now I see why, but only because they are now older. Just keep expectations in mind when taking younger people there.

Enjoyed the time at K1 this past Saturday. If not making reservations and trying to walk in then be prepared to wait. For. Party of 12 no reservations and walked in at 4 pm. The next race wasn't until 8:30 pm. At least got the pre-screening info all done. We came back and checked in and got ready. There was still a wait but not too bad. All electric go karts made the experience that much better. The course is wide enough that karts can pass other racers. For about 6-7 minutes per race, it was fun. I'd say try to get 2 races in. There are printouts of the race results out front and also emailed to the email that you list when putting in your information.

    Track

Here's the problem, you can't book a timeslot so you have to wait. They tell you, to come back when your que is almost up. There isn't much to do in their waiting area, so most likely, you'll leave then come back. Also, there weren't any signs on their website to WEAR closed toe shoes. So be forewarned, don't wear sandals or flip flops. Another thing is that I had to tell the employees multiple times to please help my kid put his seat belt on correctly. They should be checking every driver, especially kids!

How fast do the kids go karts go and will they be racing against adults? Wondering if this would be fun or scary for four 8 year olds (they are all tall enough) who have never driven go karts before.

Hi Julia, the kids karts max out around 20 m.p.h. and the kids have separate races from adults for safety since our adult karts go much faster. Indoor karting at K1 is a perfect introduction to go karts for kids. Looking forward to seeing the group… Read more

My son is 7 years old and 50 Inches. Would he be able to race alone or would he have to sit with an adult?

Hello, Bhavna! All of our karts are single-seaters, so adults can't drive with children in the same kart. However, based on your son's height, he should be able to race our Junior Karts, which requires a minimum height of 48". See you at the track!

Hi, my friend is 17 and I am 18. Can I sign the waiver for her? Thank you!

I don't think you can, you can go online and try registering

Hello, Bhavna! You can come both individually and in a group - up to you! See you at the track!

My daughter wants to go with her 12 year old friends do they need an adult to go with them?

Hello Kamryn! Yes, we'll need at least one adult to be with them, especially since waivers will need to be signed by a parent/guardian. Hope we'll see you all soon!

What is the height range for the go karts in inches?

Hello! We have a minimum height requirement of 48" for the Junior Karts, and 58" for our Adult Karts. See you at the track!

Are the go kart seats adjustable for taller/bigger sizes?

Hello, Ashley! The seats are not adjustable to make them larger (we have booster seats for smaller drivers), but we've had many NFL players drive our karts before. Also one of our employees here is 6'2" and over 235lbs and he fits in the kart just… Read more

Apologies for the delay in our answer, Aimee! We do not have any waivers available online, but they are available in our centers. The parent or guardian that attends with the minors may sign them on behalf of other parents.

We're sorry for the delay in our response, Christopher. We're open every day of the year except Thanksgiving. Thanks!

What if my group is more than 8 riders? Would I have to make a reservation?

Hey Christian! Sorry for the delay. You don't have to make a reservation (by booking an event) but that is strongly recommended. Hope we see you all soon!

Hello is anyone there? We're trying to get a hold of K-1 racing. They do not pick up the phone they do not return calls. Now their voicemail today the voicemail is a busy signal. Are you there K-1 hello are you there?

What I appreciate most is how it still holds onto that classic charm while staying clean, well-kept, and family-friendly. The food is pretty good, too! You must place the printed hardcopy parking ticket on the car dashboard as there may be parking compliance enforced to avoid being fined. Depending on the day and time that you go, the parking lot seems to get full earlier in the day when the park opens at 10:00 am. However, there was plenty of parking available around 11:30 am on a Saturday morning. Admission It varies on the age of the guest that determines the admission price. Children under 23 months are free. They do allow strollers, wagons, and outside food/drinks. You can also purchase an annual membership if you buy a daily admission ticket and upgrade it. There's an entrance area for regular admission and a separate entrance for memberships. Once you have the physical ticket on-hand, there's a separate line where an employee will scan the ticket. I hosted a party here and reserved the Whistling Woods picnic site, which accommodates 80-100 people. Based on the event package chosen, I was able to buy tickets at a wholesale price for $14 each (instead of the $22 general admission for adults and children over 24 months old). There's a $25 fee for will call where you pay for guests to pick up their physical tickets on the day of the event. Alternatively, you can pay extra to pick up the physical tickets in advance and distribute it yourself. In total, the total costs for the event was $1,200. Guests who attended the party can come at any time during park hours the day of the reserved event (ex. Sunday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm). The reservation time that I booked was from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm and was given 30 minutes prior to the reservation to set up. There was a discrepancy advised by the staff during my reservation process that I would have 30 minutes to break down the event after my reserved time. However, the Happy Hollow dedicated staff arrived at 2:30 pm to advise that my party needed to break down the area and vacate the picnic site by 3:00 pm. There was dedicated staff to help provide carts to transport personal belongings and they came with plates, table covers, and utensils for the prepaid event. Park There's a variety of activities that both adults and children can do in Happy Hollow ranging from the following: animal zoo (it's not a petting zoo), rides for children, adults must accompany if the child does not meet the age requirement, picnic areas, benches/tables to eat, and several playgrounds for all ages. There's also an onsite cafe if you plan to dine at the park or bring your own food, drinks, and snacks. The park is well-maintained and fairly clean overall.

    (1.2k reviews)

For years, based on the promotional photos I saw, I avoided the Gilroy Gardens (GG) family theme…read morepark. I thought it would be tacky and hyper-commercialized. Curiosity, together with my wife's desire to see the place, finally got the better of me--and I discovered that I had been wrong. GG in my opinion manages to strike the best balance that any such theme park probably can in terms of appealing to the masses while at the same time avoiding the trap of being tacky or hyper-commercialized. The varied rides and exhibits are pleasant and well-maintained. Some are even quite artistic (like the totem poles, illustrated in the image attached here) and educational (like the ecologically oriented Green Barn). If you're already familiar with GG, you don't need me to tell you about it. If you're not, here are a few tips--which might not be obvious to the uninitiated--that might help you better enjoy it: * The lines for the rides can be very long at times. You might end up waiting for an hour before it's your turn. Best to be prepared for that and plan it into your itinerary. * We noticed a small number of people who avoided the lines for all rides, being let in through the back gate/exit. When we asked about this at the Welcome Center, we learned that GG sells yellow wristbands that allow people to skip the long lines and enter through the "back door" (exit). They cost something like $85 per person for the year or about $30 per visit, in addition to the membership fee. * Even with those wristbands, you'll need more than one visit to see and do everything here. Rushing around a lot will spoil the fun. * The food everywhere, as far as we could tell, is pretty bad. You'll be ahead of the game if you pack your own, which will also avoid your waiting in another line. * The big secret, so to speak, of GG is "hidden" in plain sight--in the second word of the name itself, "Gardens." Most visitors are so preoccupied with going on the rides that they miss out on the natural beauty of the gardens. We found Camellia Garden and Claudia's Garden, in particular, to be like sheltered oases of calm and natural beauty within the hustle and bustle of the park. In our opinion, the three most obvious ways in which GG could be improved are as follows: 1. Improve the quality of the food that's offered. With all the traffic the park gets, those concession stands must be worth a small fortune. Either get them to do better or replace them with businesses that will. 2. Design a more user-friendly map. Those who already know their way around don't need a map but for those who don't, the existing map is not sufficiently clear (hint: it probably needs to be larger). 3. Do a better job of training the staff, in terms of both knowledgeability and attitude. Some are quite good (a special shout out to Nina at the Welcome Center and Sean at the Garlic Twirl ride: they exuded both warmth and professionalism) but others, who shall remain nameless, need more training. Minus one star for those deficiencies, as well as for not making it sufficiently clear at the time of the 2026 premium membership purchase that the bring-a-friend tickets that came with the membership had to be picked up almost immediately or they would not be available.

Review update for the start of 2026 season:…read more I expected the park to be refreshed and in top top shape for the start of the season. They just opened for the season! Unfortunately, I didn't find that was the case. We went during spring break on a weekday, and found it was more packed than usual. With that, it's no surprise considering local schools were on break. What was surprising to me was how dirty some of the rides (the caterpillar is an example) were. I feel like all of the attractions need a good pressure washing and clean up before busy season starts. We were also surprised to learn that they're now a cashless park. I'm not sure when they stopped accepting cash ( I usually use a card ) but wanted to highlight it for visitors to plan accordingly! Will be updating this review later into the season. Fingers crossed they just haven't checked some of the cleaning off the to do list yet!

Best for kids 18 months to 12 years because while the slides are fun, it's more family-friendly and less amusement-parkish than Hurricane Harbor in Concord or Calibunga/Raging Waters in San Jose. If you're ready to move your toddlers up from tot time at the San Ramon Aquatic Center, as I was, this is one step up from that. The staff member who was overseeing slides was really helpful when I told her that it was Jenbert Jr 1's first time going down a water slide ever. She told the others in line to wait for her while she gave JJ1 a little extra attention and how-to, which I appreciated. Pros: * Clean facilities * Free parking * Slide line wait times were less than 5 minutes when we went on Labor Day weekend around noon * Variety of activities from splash pad to slides to indoor or outdoor recreational swimming pool. We went to all three activities and enjoyed each. They didn't want to get out of the recreational pool when it was time to go, and it was less crowded. * More affordable than water amusement parks such as Calibunga and Hurricane Harbor, but to be fair, there isn't as much to do here. However, the focus at The Wave seems to be on quality, not quantity. Cons: * Pricing is for above and below 40". However, the slides have both a height (40") and weight (45 lb) requirement, and both must be met. Luckily, management will refund you if your child is over 40" but less than 45 lbs and cannot go on the slides. * Much like any other amusement park: cabanas/rented tables fill up quickly, can't bring in your own food.
