She answered my many questions, worked through every accommodation with me, and made the entire booking process seamless. Her kindness, patience, and genuine enthusiasm made me feel like she was just as invested in the celebration as I was. By the end of the planning process, I had unofficially promoted her to honorary bridesmaid status. When we arrived, Valeria and Kayla were fantastic. They immediately jumped into "surprise mode," graciously playing along by checking us in at the host stand and escorting us to our table without giving anything away. Their teamwork helped keep the bride-to-be completely unsuspecting until she walked into a room full of family and friends. Valeria also accommodated my request to play a millennial throwback playlist, and every hit had us singing along--it was the perfect soundtrack for the afternoon. Our server, Skylar, was equally wonderful. She made excellent wine recommendations, was attentive without ever making us feel rushed, and truly made us feel at home. Even after our reserved time had ended, she warmly invited us to stay and continue enjoying ourselves. What was supposed to be a two-hour brunch turned into nearly four hours of laughter, wine, and celebrating, and we never once felt like we were inconveniencing anyone. The beautiful winery, delicious brunch, excellent wine, and stunning atmosphere were everything I had hoped for. But what truly made this experience exceptional was the people. Diane, Valeria, Kayla, Skylar, and the entire Murrieta's Well team created an experience that felt warm, personal, and genuinely special. Planning a surprise from start to finish can be stressful, but thanks to this incredible team, all I had to do was enjoy watching my best friend's reaction. We didn't have your everyday…read morewedding, we actually had a costumed Hallowedding reception, so we needed a place to fit the theme as well as meet our other criteria: open until at least 11pm, no catering or alcohol requirements (freedom :)), under $1500 to rent, and in the bay area. The Barn was the best fit for us. Things to note about the Barn: -There is an old wooden bar that you can move depending on where you want it -250 person capacity -There is a dusty smell to the Barn as it's older, with candles we didn't notice it -The Barn isn't super clean, there is a little bit of dust and cobwebs, but it is a barn afterall -The bathrooms are pretty minimalistic, the men's room actually doesn't have a door -There are big white panels on the indoor walls of the Barn which look great with uplighting -They make you have security, but it wasn't prohibitive or even noticeable -There is plenty of parking -They don't allow kegs -It is better for a night reception, as the night makes the Barn's flaws less noticeable -There is a minimal kitchen for a catering company to use -We rented chairs, tables, and a dance floor, rather than using what came with the Barn -They don't clean, so make sure you arrange for cleanup Overall it was perfect for our wedding, I just don't think it would be perfect for everyone's wedding. The LARPD staff were very easy to work with and we got our full deposit refunded without a problem. I'd recommend the Barn hands down for someone looking for rustic on a budget and at night :). I had about 160 +/- guests and if you aren't hiring anyone I'd suggest to add about 4 hrs. before the start to setup all those tables and chairs that is provided by the venue. Great service before, during and after the event, however there were 2 issues I encountered. 1- we got double-booked hence the party being on Friday but we did get compensated for it. 2- i was told no alcohol and the security guards were like really?! In the end though because of the rainy weather it was meant to be because of everyone's safety. If you are creative this is the place for you (personally I'm not). I'm use to walking into hotel banquet rooms and then off to have fun so unless you hire a staff or have a great support system like me this is a good choice. We embraced the walls. Rather than covering it up our awesome DJ lighted it up did then popped it with a monogram. Overall yea I'd rent here again. The kitchen was great and we just added a little bathroom necessity basket for the guests to use. Have guests bring a jacket because it can get cold but since we were all dancing and having fun we warmed up quick!

There is a private room which is in the same building as the sports bar where they serve food and that day, there was a big 49'rs game and there were plenty of customers watching the several big screen tvs around the room. The venue has free parking. The private room was a bit drafty and needs a new coat of paint but it was a good place to hold this event. The private room where the Celebration of Life was just perfect for the event and this was the first time I have been to a venue for a Celebration of Life, rather than at a church. The event started with the buffet lunch, which consisted of mashed potatoes, bread, salad, mixed vegetables, beef and chicken. The food was plentiful and filling, however the beef was a bit on the chewy side even though it was medium rare. Coffee, iced tea, canned soda and hot tea were also available and a rich chocolate cake with raspberry filling was served for dessert. We didn't come here for the food but if you want to host an event here, the grounds are lovely and service is friendly.

Even though they have an indoor space, it seemed they really wanted all the tastings to be done outdoors at tables with a wine ambassador/server. The outdoor patio is very pretty, skillfully landscaped in that winery fashion, lots of tables and a wooden structure with fans for some cover and circulation. But that cover is just a screen so it isn't complete shade, slivers of sunlight still beam through. Which can be a nuisance if that beam is in one person's face at the table. For this valley (Livermore) if a winery is going to conduct wine tastings outdoors, I think a full cover should be standard. It isn't yet but in time I think it will. A tasting is $25 with about 5 samples. They'll throw in a bonus 1-2 pours if you want to revisit a taste. They'll waive this fee if you purchase 2 bottles or more. They even have a small menu that you can order food that isn't just snacks like nuts and crackers. You can actually have a significant meal here, albeit a very small menu. We were going to have lunch elsewhere, so we didn't get too involved with the food. But we did order a warm baguette with 3 dips for $15 (4.5*) as tasting wines without food sometimes gets puckering and acidic. $15 seemed a bit much for some bread, but it was a well-made and well thought out. First the mini whole baguette was served very warm and fresh. To me personally a crusty bread that is warm is as soothing as slipping into your favorite old but comfy sweater. Who ever is supplying them with this bread is a legit bakery. I wouldn't even doubt if it was an Acme or a Semifreddi product. The 3 spreads given are actually way too much for the bread given. But they are all very conducive to the warm bread and sips of wine. 1 is a super soft butter. Not sure if anything else went in but it seems softer than straight butter. There's also a balsamic dip that is well emulsified with a nice garlic touch. Very tasty. And then there's a nice well made pesto that is loose from olive oil and a tinge of lemon in the background. And I found you can mix and match these spreads anyway you want to get a layered flavor effect. This totally elevated our wine tasting. The wines here I felt were above average. Several not so popular varietals like a Cabernet Franc or a Grenache Rosé made for an interesting ride. I found their sparkling wine to be very refreshing and one of their red blends to be solid enough to take home and pair it with a nice meal someday. I think their blending/winemaking skills suit my palate. Our server/pourer was very nice and efficient. I saw the employees taking turns on tables as they came. But I also saw a table already request a certain server so there are regulars that have made relations here. I'm all for that. One of my new faves to wine taste out here in Livermore. I only mention the above because Retzlaff doesn't feel like any of it. We showed up on bikes, grabbed a merlot, gabbed with the friendly staff, parked it in a couple of comfortable adirondacks and vibed out to live music and shady pepper trees. It's not too darn rustic (I mean, really, it's quite nice) and it's not snooty. Just very much one of the best places to relax in Livermore.

We stepped inside The old Barn and were greeted by the owner and winemaker himself, Brett. The barn was so cute, and honest. And Brett was so clearly passionate about his wines. It isn't often that you find this personal connection with a winery. Many of them are corporate today, and most owners have employees in the tasting room and are not there on a Saturday afternoon. That alone set Boaventura apart from most wineries. The wines were excellent! There wasn't one bad one in the ten that we tasted. That's pretty amazing, even for fantastically epic famous wineries. And to find that in Livermore Valley is even more awesome. I will absolutely return to Boaventura and I recommend it as a must-stop to all of my wine-loving friends. This is also a place where I would take guests so they could get a feel for a small, family-owned and operated winery. I loved it!

Probably one of the most memorable weddings as during the couples vows when a freight train passed by for 5 minutes which caused some laughter by the Officiant and guests. After dinner was served which by the way the pre-selected entrees of steak, salmon and chicken Marsala were actually really good snd not overcooked, the guests were either dancing or waiting in line for their ice cream from Mr. Softee when those inside were told to evacuate due to an electrical fire. Prior to the announcement, many of us had seen the outdoor lights flicker on an off and we thought that someone had accidentally was playing with the light switch. Fire department was called and shortly after we left. Staff was very professional throughout the event and no complaints with the indoor and outdoor venues.
