This is one of the most beautiful spots around Livermore, and I enjoy taking Blondie there not only for the lessons, but just to relax. And I can't be distracted by my Android, because there's no coverage! Bring a camera for some truly stunning shots. Anyway, the lessons seem to be going well. Blondie loves the horses, and they appear to be well cared for. Lucy is her instructor, and we started here because 1) we could try out a single lesson to see how it went, and 2) an easy payment plan beyond that. This week, Lucy is letting Blondie bring a friend. Very well done.

    Such a fun grand entrance!

This venue was perfect in every way! My husband and I wanted an authentic rustic wedding with a huge barn and to be able to stay the whole weekend... check, check, and check! We knew that this was the perfect venue before we even went to see it in person! There are so many great options for ceremony and reception options that you can truly let your imagination run wild with ideas :) Our whole wedding celebration was magical and everything we ever dreamed of. Once we arrived at the ranch on Friday, the stress was gone and the fun started! Having everything happen in one incredible location is the way to go (in my opinion) and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Everyone on the ranch was so wonderful and welcoming and all of our guests loved the venue! I can't tell you how many times we were asked.. "how did you find this place, it is amazing!" If you are looking for a beautiful, rustic, and peaceful setting look no further!

Last year, my husband and I worked at the ranch on an amazing Indian Wedding! The staff and everyone we encountered at Reinstein Ranch were warm and welcoming! The ranch itself is a large space with a barn and ton of potential - the perfect space for a unique wedding! We decorated a tent and also an outdoor Mandap and it could not have been more beautiful! Looking forward to working at this venue again!

Sunset on our wedding day at Reinstein Ranch

We had our wedding at Reinstein Ranch in Aug. 2015, and it was magical. The place and the people can't be beat. Starting with the place: it's an amazing mix of 100+ years of preserved ranch history and modern touches. We got married in their cathedral of a barn, with late afternoon sun streaming in between wooden slats. Afterward everyone watched the hills get more golden as the sun set behind them. And then the twinkling cafe lights came on and horses and cows made their way through the pastures. It was breathtaking. Our guests continue to rave about the place and the moments it created. My groom and I each had our immediate families stay in the ranch house too. They loved it for its comfort and amenities, and beautiful antique fixtures. It was a nice way for our two families to spend time and space together. The groom and I stayed in the small hetch hetchy cabin and it was so totally sweet, perfect, and comfortable. And now, the people! We were lucky enough to be one of the first couples married here, and working with Christiana was easy and fun. She is a joy -- full of life and responsive to our ideas and questions. She went above and beyond for us before and after the wedding, helping us to find the right vendors, and coordinating them seamlessly the day-of. During the wedding she found little things to make us feel awesome. She saw a horse boarder with a newly bathed horse, and asked if we could take pictures with her. We did, and totally treasure these photos now. When late into the night dessert hadn't come out, she went and served our pies. Her brother helped us tear down and clean up after guests left at 12.30 am. Super hard-working, professional, good-hearted people. I feel so lucky to have met the Reinsteins and to have had them with us on such a big day. I feel like I should start boarding a horse at Reinstein Ranch so I can go back all the time :)

If your looking for horse boarding, look no further. Reinstein Ranch is a Five Star Boarding Facility. When I first came to Reinstein Ranch, I was welcomed by the owner, Thom Reinstein. He couldn't have been kinder. I told him my mare was at U.C. Davis, recovering from two surgeries after she was brutally attacked in pasture at another facility. I told him I was looking for a ranch that she could rehabilitate in a safe and sound environment. I also told him that I had been referred to him by my Veterinarian. Thom showed me around & assured me that if I decided to board my horse at his ranch, she would recover in a very good environment. He said he had a great group of boarders & their horses, and no drama! I have been there now two years. My mare has fully recovered and I can attest to all of the horses being happy & content. The boarders are all very welcoming & friendly. I have met the trainers, Dan & Kelly. They are awesome! I look forward to some brush up lessons when I'm ready. I have also had the pleasure of meeting both Zack & Christianna, Thom's son & daughter (5th generation). Both are wonderful people and very attentive. Thom and his family care about the ranch, it's horses & boarders. They are hands on (live on property) & are very involved in all the activities at the ranch. They also offer vacation 'get away' deals, wedding events, etc. I couldn't be happier at Reinstein Ranch. Come down for a visit.

These two gins (and more) are…read moreproduced by Old World Spirits which operates out of a garage in an industrial park in Belmont. Don't judge just because it's an industrial park, this place is a tight, efficient operation and makes great use of it's space. It's got a huge copper still that makes everything from gin to rye whiskey to brandies to absinthe. On Friday nights you can get a tour and tasting for $15. Because of California law, spirits cannot be sold at the distillery, except wine/grape based brandies. The Blade gin is a citrusy gin with a lot of complexity but not much strong juniper flavor that turns most people off. The Rusty Blade is the same Blade gin that is aged in barrels which brings out more cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. It's very much a winter spirit in my opinion. The pear eau de vie brandy really packs a punch with a lot of great pear flavor and though I'm not really a fan of eau de vies this one is a great one. Also, make sure you try the walnut liqueur, based on a Croatian family recipe, for something different. Finally, yes, absinthe, real absinthe, is now legal in the US and you can taste La Sorcière here. It's a great traditional absinthe with a lot of anise flavor. The distiller who gave us the tour and the tasting was really nice and knowledgable. It was a great experience and I encourage everyone to visit once.

Then suddenly he got back to her a few days later, said that she had never paid and there was no confirmation. Funny, then why did they have us down for Saturday if they had no confirmation. My friend sent him a screenshot of THEIR confirmation email for the Friday appointment, so he went back to saying he'd give us a free tasting. Well, it's been weeks now and he won't respond to our emails to set up the appointment. Lousy customer service, they don't deserve anyone's business.

Drinks: West Point - cocktail had a solid balance of acidity and sweetness with subtle flavors from the gin, lemon forward with subtle pineapple flavor wished this had a touch more pineapple but a personal preference Food: Tlayudita - a small plate with a crispy corn tortilla base that's about 6" in diameter topped with savory creamy refried beans, salsa and tomatillo which added a nice heat along with tangy refreshing bright acidity, chewy strips of queso oaxaca, creamy crema that added richness and cilantro, a great starter Service was good, easy ordering at the register and pick up from the food window, asked for napkins and utensils at the food window, water was self serve. Amid derelict epic dry dock gantry crane trusses and girders and concrete and 19th century brickwork and the potential fragrances of nuclear/PCBs/dioxin toxic soils underfoot. Don't stand in one place too long, I think. Enough o' that. Dining space is appointed consistent with the industrial surroundings yet still feels warm. Some hi-tops in bar area ready to go. Several tables around the dining space in various deuce/four-top plans. Full bar has several stools at the beautifully carved arcade with one of the most energetic, personable, knowledgeable bartenders this side of the bay bridge. He'll lay out the mash bill for every one of their house distilled spirits if u ask. Legend. Their distilled selections are impeccable and should be sampled while ur there. Crinkle cut fries crispy and fluffy inside. Dippin' heaven. Dining service can feel a bit sluggish, disjointed and inattentive at times. Don't fear being a little assertive for what u want, staff are gracious always even if a little behind the vibe. Consider also their scheduled hours of operation. Now thurs thru Sunday. What we've found is by Sunday afternoon u may face a lack of many things from the menu. Our last: Order BLT salad? No bacon. No tomatoes. No go. Ok. How 'bout fried green beans? No green beans. Kinda felt like, "Ok, tell me what u do have." Chicken sandwiches? Yep. Ok do that. Thats the way it goes sometimes. By the time my belly was full with yummy chicken I wasn't mad at 'em. The awesome after lunch S&C bourbon manhattan at the bar further mellowed my mild service-harsh. Get in, get early. Rest rooms are to the left of the bar. Clean and roomy.
