So I have very mixed feelings about this place. Some things are incredible. Some things are not…read moreso great. I am a member of the "Legends" club. So that to me means it's top of the line membership as indicated by their pricing and what we get. So I feel I should get top notch deals, pricing and service. Turns out, we get the same shaft as the lower club members. Starting with the good, the location is pristine. Nice area with lots of room for kids and adults to mingle and play. The wine is also pretty darn good. Of course there are some better than others but I enjoy most of their wine. The service is also for the most part very good. The waitstaff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. Their food is also pretty darn good. It's not incredible, and a bit overpriced but it's fine enough. Their wine pricing is also fair (but of course with the highest membership we get the biggest discount). My biggest complaints would be the price gouging and lack of communication. We made arrangements on a Friday to show Sunday with 6 and asked for the "VIP space upgrade to lounge or upstairs Vista Patio Lounge (when available)". They said no problem. When we showed on Sunday they said it was closed with no notice. Just a sorry. OK whatever. We sit inside (6 people and 2 children) and they charge for 2 children a "non drinker" charge of $10 ($5 each). A head count charge for non-drinkers? For children? Total nonsense! I am spending over $1,200 a year here and you want to gouge me for someone's kids? Their tastings are $40 a pop which is really crazy. Our price is waived on this so that's fine but if you are not a member you are paying a lot for a little. The wines do take a bit of time to come and they don't give you a lot. Kind of a bummer waiting for the taste. We ended up with 4 appetizers (sliders $24, Charcuterie $25, Tater Tots $12 and Pretzel Bites with Grilled Sausage $16) 2 bottles of wine and $4.25 for water and the bill was over $250. Oh and top that off, with 6 people, they charge a mandatory 20% on the bill for a tip and are basing that with taxes (as the button default), not the actual sub-total so they are actually getting about 23%. All in all, I am not sure that the cost is worth what you get. I mean we are giving them a lot of money just to be members and then having to pay more and more for anything else that really should be included (like water and kids) makes this place just a bit too over-rated for me. Probably end my club membership in the fall and go someplace that doesn't place money first.

I can't say enough good things about how amazingly friendly, helpful, and kind the owners are. Add on to that the stunning venue with beautiful views. There is a private room which is in the same building as the sports bar where they serve food and that day, there was a big 49'rs game and there were plenty of customers watching the several big screen tvs around the room. The venue has free parking. The private room was a bit drafty and needs a new coat of paint but it was a good place to hold this event. The private room where the Celebration of Life was just perfect for the event and this was the first time I have been to a venue for a Celebration of Life, rather than at a church. The event started with the buffet lunch, which consisted of mashed potatoes, bread, salad, mixed vegetables, beef and chicken. The food was plentiful and filling, however the beef was a bit on the chewy side even though it was medium rare. Coffee, iced tea, canned soda and hot tea were also available and a rich chocolate cake with raspberry filling was served for dessert. We didn't come here for the food but if you want to host an event here, the grounds are lovely and service is friendly.

We stepped inside The old Barn and were greeted by the owner and winemaker himself, Brett. The barn was so cute, and honest. And Brett was so clearly passionate about his wines. It isn't often that you find this personal connection with a winery. Many of them are corporate today, and most owners have employees in the tasting room and are not there on a Saturday afternoon. That alone set Boaventura apart from most wineries. The wines were excellent! There wasn't one bad one in the ten that we tasted. That's pretty amazing, even for fantastically epic famous wineries. And to find that in Livermore Valley is even more awesome. I will absolutely return to Boaventura and I recommend it as a must-stop to all of my wine-loving friends. This is also a place where I would take guests so they could get a feel for a small, family-owned and operated winery. I loved it!

We worked with Leann and Yoselin and they are absolutely lovely throughout the entire process. The entire staff also did such an wonderful job making sure all our guests were well-fed - I didn't hear a single complaint the entire night. If you're looking for an inclusive venue, Casa Bella is a must. We went with their hors d'oeuvres, 3 course meal, open bar (I was overjoyed when they allowed bloody mary's as a signature drink and it was DELICIOUS) and late night snacks and everything was amazing. They also provided us with an outdoor ceremony tent to help us with the heat. Oh, and they have decorations you can rent at a cost or for FREE! We used Weddings with Athena as our coordinator, Celestial Petals as our florist, Ditto Dianto as our photographer, Benji Films (La Venus Studio) as our videographer, and DJ TN with Twin Spin Entertainment as our DJ/MC.
