I asked fora recommendation from the hair dresser that's in the same plaza as this business and they STRONGLY tried to DISCOURAGE ME from going there and actually referred me to another place up the street. Thinking how bad could they be i went anyway. It was the WORSE EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD! Not only did they ruin my acrylic nails which i had gone in for a fill on, but they cut them short and uneven. They cut my cuticles and then used remover over them... this burned like crazy. There were lumps on the nail and they put these hideous yellow and green flowers that i didn't not ask for in order to up-charge me. The fill cost me $50, yes for only a fill and not a full set. They REFUSED TO FIX MY PROBLEM OR REFUND MY MONEY. IF I COULD GIVE THEM A ZERO STAR I WOULD. Also, during this time of Covid, i noticed several of their workers have their masks on their mouth and not covering their nose!!! Also, be careful, as they do not totally disinfect your chair or the area where they work nor where people wash hands. I observed this during the time i was there. I will be calling the department of health so they can do further investigation. During this time of Covid you must be very careful with disinfecting surfaces especially when customers are sitting there for at least an hour! This is also another one of these places where you are made to feel uncomfortable by the employees talking amongst themselves in a foreign language and laughing. Makes you wonder what they are saying about you, the paying customer!!! I don't recommend you spending your hard earned money at this place. read more

I walked in for a pedicure and a fill. I was taken back within 5 minutes of signing in , which was amazing ! The pedicure was wonderful , Rose did an amazing job. I would definitely ask for Rose for a pedicure. My fill on the other hand was not so amazing. I was told they could do the design I had shown them. The guy ( never got his name ) started filing my nails and then painting them. The yellow was to light because of my previous design. I asked to have a new nail put on so the color would show up and he said " its not needed , we can pick a different color ". I agreed even though my toes were already the yellow I wanted. He then applied 3 coats on top of the other 3 coats so my nails now have 6 coats of nail polish ! The polish was not applied evenly so not only are my nails super thick , but the color is uneven as well. They were unable to do the original design I had asked for and when I asked for another design he said he was able to do it but still did the design completely wrong. He added glitter when I said " No thank you " and then made a daisy instead of a sunflower. Really disappointed by this place. I had been here once but hadn't gotten my nails done so I was really looking forward to going today. I went an hour before their stayed close time. When I walked in, there were "at least" four employees within eyesight that saw me walk in but ignored me (one on their phone, one cleaning, one at register, and another I'm not sure ). It was not busy there were a couple people in seats as though they were waiting for someone and there (to the best of my knowledge) was only one person being serviced. I asked "are you guys about to close?" The guy looked up from his phone and said "yea" then went back to it. I know nail salons aren't known for their customer service but I was a bit surprised they weren't more friendly (I had in my mind this salon was going to be just awesome all around for some reason). As I walked it I noticed the door said they closed today at 7, so I went back in and asked about it. They guy looked up from his phone to say "no 6" then again went back to his phone. Overall I just feel they should practice better customer service and if their sign is wrong, they should change it or tell people. This is my second trip to K.T's. Enjoyed my first experience and wanted to go again. My feet look amazing. She messaged the soles of my feet with lotion and I could have walked miles afterward! I have poor circulation and she made them feel like a million bucks. She paid attention to each individual toe and foot. Taking care of cuticles and clipping of the nails. They have a nice variety of polish colours. I chose a beautiful shade of dark green. Near the end she put a cool design on my big toes. A nice finishing touch to a day of self indulgence. Went back one more time to give them another chance since the gentleman with the nazi tattoo on his hand had left a bitter taste about 6 months ago yet I said to myself maybe it was a bad day. So here I am another Sunday since it's my only day off trying to get a fill. I waited 25 min waiting for someone after calling them and having them write my name down for a speedy service. So after 25 min I'm sat down. She proceeded to do my fill. Everything was running smooth with the fill just a normal fill. The she asked me if I wanted the same shape I had an almond shape at that point. So she was filling away. When she was done filling she shows me and at that point my nails were stiletto shaped (nothing wrong with that if you like that shape) but that's not what I wanted or had in mind. So I tell her that they look too pointy so she offered to fix them by making them coffin but she had filled them so narrow and short they would just look ridiculous as coffin. So I told her to just round them out a bit. So she did but now they look like upside down candy corns. It's a few days before thanksgiving and who knows how I'm going to fix these weird looking nails. I feel like crying. The saddest part is I still got charged $18 even after I told her to just leave them filled and not to apply any color or gloss or anything. She knew I wasn't happy and was upset. Never will I be coming back and I will let anyone know never to go here either since everyone is always asking me where to get my nails done. I'm probably one of this salons most loyal customers. I've always enjoyed there work and how they treat customers. Recently I went in for a fill and it was busy(which I didn't mind) They had a guy who DOESN'T work there and usually ONLY works on feet do my nails (which he bluntly admitted) yet they still had him do my nails and long story short, he was was making sexual jokes and comments towards me. On top of that he missed a lot of steps while doing the fill. So now I'm currently walking around with crooked, uneven, fragile nails. I'm so disappointed. I don't know why they would allow this behavior. If he is untrained in fills or acrylics why risk it on a customer. They were busy but I could have waited for someone trained. His mannerism was just icing. I shouldn't have payed or left with my nails looking the way they do. Sloppy is an understatement. I guess they could afford to lose a loyal customer. read more

Went in for the first time and was given a gift certificate of 25$ from Christmas 2019. From my understanding a gift certificate does not expire because we pay for the services ahead of time. It's not a coupon but since it had a expiration date I called two days early to ask if I can use it. The woman I talked to said yes so I went ahead and made an appointment with someone that my sister in law recommended. The day I go I walk-in and they didn't ask if I had an appointment. They just told me to go with a technician that's available. I told them that I made an appointment and same thing "go with her". Just to make sure I told the technician about the gift certificate (mind you the expiration dates was between 12/19-05/20 close to half of those months they were closed for COVID) she comes back and says they will only use 10$ of it. I even asked if they can be lenient since they were closed for COVID and she said no. The next thing was that I was going to pay for what I wanted and when I was asking if they could do my full set with colored acrylic powder all she said was that "Gel lasts longer", they also didn't have the color I wanted so she just went with the a color that was close. How she responded made me feel like I had no other options and I had no other choice. For my first time being there my overall experience was disappointing and will let everyone know not to get a "gift certificate" there because it has an expiration. I went to this place to get a fill. They didn't wipe down the seat before i sat, just the table. I never saw one empIoyee wash their hands, only customers. Isaid I needed some but not all of the length off, & the OWNER, V, ruined my nails. She cut them very short, I even said "wow, these are really short!" she said "oh it'll be fine because you're going on vacation". Then, she put on a design I didn't even want before I said yes, then, when she was playing with it to see how it'd look, (I thought) I asked her to remove it. She then said it was stuck & couldn't take them off & that she was going to put another butterfly design when I originally wanted one, or NONE. I even mentioned "If we can't do the butterfly's I want, I don't want them". She charged me $40 for acrylics that are as long as my natural nails, & then a $5 tip. GO TO TOM @ PINK N WHITE IN CONTI, HE NVR WILL HAVE YOU LOOKING LIKE A DAMN FOOL CRYING OVER YOUR NAILS!!! DAY RUINED!!! I went back in and asked for them to be fixed or for a refund after I had gotten into my car. She said she could give me the $5 tip back but not the $40. I had saved money given to me for a trip & had very little for my nails, if I had known they would've done such a terrible job for so much money I would've gone somewhere else! Nicely decorated waiting area, but on my first visit it had a smell like feces (like the plumbing backed up or something!) and a lady had a screaming baby the whole time. I know that's not the places fault, but really ruins the ambiance when simultaneously battling the stench of poop and the sounds of screaming while trying to get a relaxing pedicure. I've been going to KT Nails for years -- every 2 to 4 weeks, not just once a year -- I have never experienced any of the issues described by some reviewers. The salon is SUPER busy on many days, particularly Saturdays, so appointments are best -- if you're not a regular client don't expect that they can read your mind and know your voice -- be sure to let them know you have an appointment. read more

Absolutely love the new remodel they did at KT Nails on Ina and Thornydale! This is a Spa setting now. They have 12 Pedicure chairs and at least 12 nail stations in this place. All of them are good at doing nails, and my favorite for pedicures is Kelly! I really like Emily! She is so sweet and very gentle with my hands. I would recommend this place for sure! read more

Finally decided to do a nail day with my girls. Walking in I noticed the establishment was clean and there was only one other client in there. Truly enjoyed the service until midway thru. People started to filter in. I felt extremely anxious over the lack of social distancing... especially when another client was seated next to my daughter and they shared a nail station. When we left there was 21 people in the establishment. It quickly turned from a relaxing experience to an experience of regret and anxiety. In addition to lack of social distancing there was a lack of disinfecting surfaces. Although all workers wore masks and they had masks for sale, they did not require clients to wear them. read more

After I decided not to follow my favorite nail techs to yet another salon recently I found myself looking for a new fave spot. I went here on a recommendation of a friend of mine who loves the pedicures here. I got off work a little early so I called to see if they had time for an acrylic fill/gel manicure and they told me to come on in! I was shocked when I first walked in-this place is HUGE, beautifully decorated and very clean!!! Kevin did my nails-he was extremely gentle and spent a long time making sure my nails looked just how I wanted them. I was very impressed with his work. Prices are right and after I paid I was handed a 'punch' card that gives me $5 off of every 5th visit! I'm looking forward to going back-next time with my husband for pedicures! I 100% agree with the last two posts. After faithfully going to kt nails for almost a year and a half I will no longer be going. The service has completely dropped. Due to my schedule always changing I am unable to make appointments so when I suddenly get an afternoon free I will ALWAYS call in advance to see if there is a wait or if they have an opening. I completely understand the business that if you want to be sure you're seen, you make an appointment, which is why I call before. Today I called and asked if they had an opening for my usual shellac manicure and pedicure and the owner, Vy, said they were available to get me in. They are always busy so I asked her one more time if she was sure I could get in and I would not have to wait, and she once again said yes for sure. I immediately agreed and let her know I would be there in 20 minutes. I was pretty excited because I could relax and had two hours before I had to be at work again. When I got there she saw me and waved and i signed in and sat down not thinking anything of waiting, assuming they would direct me to a station as soon as someone was done. As I waited a few minutes a walk in came in asking for a pedicure to which Vy replied that it would be over an hour wait. I then asked Vy if that meant it was going to be over an hour for me as well (I thought she might have been accounting for the time my services took when quoting a time to the woman) and she said yes and asked if I had somewhere to be. This made me so upset because I called specifically before to see if they had time and she told me yes. This is the 3rd time this has happened. I asked her why she didn't just tell me that when I called. That was literally the whole reason for a call ahead. She just shrugged her shoulders and nonchalantly asked if I could come back later. I honestly would have been perfectly fine if she had told me they were busy. I would have just came another time. Vy has consistently sacrificed honesty to her clients in order to get them in the door. This is a poor way to handle business. I wasted my time driving there and back when she could have been honest on the phone. I definitely will not be back and be warning others. It seemed like they cared before but now they just want to get people in the door no matter the cost which doesn't make sense to me because she will be losing customers. If kt nails reads this my advice would be to honestly quote times to people who call ahead. No one wants to be lied to or have their time wasted. read more

Best nail salon in Tucson! Everyone is very nice and the owner Vee is fantastic. My nails never lift and using the gel polish lasts forever . I had called and got a price over the phone for a pedicure for my 14 yr old daughter. I had deceided to try this business and take her there. When she was done they charged me a higher price. they said they had thought I said 4 yr old daughter? They would not adjust my price over $4 and so lost a potential customer. Nails didnt look so great either. There was still bumps and the paint was not even. The lady would not adjust my price after she admitted to the mistake. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because I have no other choice. KT nails does not deserve to remain in business. read more

I've been coming to this salon for many, many years....so, many that I can't even give a number of how many. I'm guessing around 10 plus years. I love the service that I always receive, so much that I got my mom and two nieces to become clients. I always schedule an appointment and every once an a while I may need to wait a few minutes but, I'm fine with that because I know that all the nail techs are human; different things can happen within the day and I look around the salon to see how busy they may have been/or are. I like that I can take a picture of a design I like and they will replicate it. I will continue giving K T Nails my business for many, many more years. read more

I like this place a lot. Kim is amazing and my nails always look perfect. There is one lady however, that is horrible. I dont know her name but her station is the first one. She didn't even ask if I wanted my nails trimmed down when I got a fill so I had to tell her after it was almost ok late. She did a sloppy fill as well as a sloppy manicure. I got a sparkly gel color that barely showed up and she put so many coats that my nails were thick and ugly. They didn't last more than a week. I went to have mani/pedis done with my daughter. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, but became busier later. Our pedis were completed with the two techs talking in Vietnamese the whole time. I've come to expect that as it happens at most places. Once our pedicures were completed, they told us where to sit for the manicures. My daughter's tech started working on hers, but my tech took off to help another customer without finishing me first. She said nothing, just took off. I complained and another tech completed my manicure. I've had good and bad service with mani/ pedis, but this was by far the worst. read more
