The gear is basic, but very functional, well-maintained. I got the concert camping kit and added the kitchen kit which worked well for me and my buddy. You see, I went in to return a pair of work/tactile boots and some of the workers looked at me a little weird. Aside from that the older gentleman accused me of coming in regularly to return things and this would be the last time I can do this. So, I said in reasonable defense "I have not ever done this, this is only the first time I returned anything at big 5. Anyway, he said well, someone who looks like you keeps doing this. (By the way, I'm a black woman). So he reluctantly does the return and warned him not to judge anyone this way, but he just kept arguing with me. And the other employees were just standing there just simply not caring. I'm writing this review in the hope that NO ONE, especially a person of color has this experience.

Absolutely no shelter or wildlife sanctuary was answering the phone but Justin did!!! The baby duck (I named Jumpy) would NOT be alive today if it wasn't for him. Thank you so much Justin!! You saved a life! Jumpy is now at a safe farm and I will be visiting him in a month or so!

So I arrive at South Center DICKS SPORTING GOODS and it's my turn at counter. I say " I'm returning jacket" and this punk ask's why. Like who FLIPPING CARES but I share I didn't like the fit. Then he ask's did you wear it , and answer was " NO " ! At this point he starts sniffing the jacket like it's a line of Peruvian Flake , I kid you not. I'm thinking is this two toned hair punk really questioning me on a return and then sniffs it. Since when does a return with documents turn into the Spanish Inquisition. Drive about 1/2 hr there and find a small somewhat hidden display with no product. Ask an employee wearing a mask LOL if they have more. While she's doing this a mouse runs down the aisle next to us. She rolls her eyes like this is a common occurrence. She finds out they have none in stock despite there being another couple weeks of the sale. I go up front to get a rain check. No one there. Finally someone comes and gives me a rain check but says she doesn't know when or if they will get anymore. This is classic bait and switch.
