If Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth, Wade's is the happiest place where things go boom. I walked in expecting a normal shooting range experience and instead found the friendliest, most safety‑obsessed staff this side of an FAA control tower. These folks don't just remind you about safety -- they radiate it. I have seen them intervening to help people with everything from inproper stance to improper firearm holding handling to keep the more Inexperienced from hurting themselves. (Even stopped some guy that resembled me from pinching my er i mean their thumb in the hammer once. The gun selection? Unreal. They've got everything from adorable little .22 pistols -- basically the BB gun's slightly more confident cousin -- all the way up to the 50mm Israeli Desert Eagle, a firearm so powerful it should come with its own chiropractor. You can only shoot that beast with staff present, which is fair, because it's less "pistol" and more "portable cannon." The beauty is that you can rent any or all of these for a very reasonable price/ rate And the rifles? Too many to list. If it has a barrel and goes bang, Wade's probably has it. I half expected to see a musket from the Revolutionary War and a 40 watt plasma rifle sitting side by side with a big man in a leather jacket with an Austrian accent asking about it. Between the top‑tier safety, the shockingly friendly staff, and the arsenal that looks like it was curated for the Terminator to protect John Connor and the Smithsonian at the same time, , Wade's is easily a five‑star experience. At the gun sales counter the sales person was a young kid. His knowlege was lacking, . I asked for a particular gun and they treid to talk me into something else. Again I asked about another gun they/he tried to sell me somthing else other than what I asked for. When I treid to quiz them on their knowledge , I could easily tell it was lacking. I am dissapointed. I did not really need knowledge from the staff(especially since I had way more knowledge and experience than them). but it was disappointing. As I was there I saw a couple next to me trying to buy a firearm, and that that sales guy didint know squat. very sad for gun buyers. if you want informed help on firearms, I would pass on this place. Been a frequent customer here and have refrained from writing a negative review for some time now but I feel like I have to. I live very close so it's convenient, but the customer service is absolute trash and the younger staff at the counter aren't very knowledgeable. And rather than say, "I'm not sure about that." or "Let me see what I can find out.", they'd rather just pull some bogus answer out of their ass to make it seem like they're more informed. Furthermore, they seem to think it's acceptable to grab-ass behind the counter and yuck it up over remaining professional. Can't beat the cost of the year or lifetime membership. I thought I would save money by being a lifetime member and not worrying about range fees, but now I just shoot a lot more. I've been here 4 times so far and each time I was able to walk in and get a lane. I'm also happy that they allow you to practice drawing from concealment once you demonstrate you can do so safely to an RSO. The range has a basic target retrieval system that leave your guessing as to the actual distance to the target, but you can it close to the standard 5/7/10/20 yard pistol shooting distances. The ammo prices are "ok" given that this is a gun range and ammo prices at ranges are always high. The main beef I have is that they do not allow you to shoot steel or aluminum cased ammunition which makes it difficult to use the range to sight or function check a 7.62x39 caliber rifle like an AK. I assume they sell off their brass to make a few pennies on each of the visits, but its easy enough to separate steel case with a magnet and I hope they change the rules at least for that. read more

The team at Wade's are very unprofessional, hauty and full of themselves. Essentially, they wanted us out but could not directly say it, so they were passive aggressive and rude. Here's the story. Two friends of mine mentioned that some out of town friends of theirs want to go shooting. So we organized and figured we can come altogether. We don't know all each other at all. We simply organized together. Each drove him/herself. When we arrived altogether, we asked for the most convenient way for them to check us in. We did not care if we split up, we only arrived all at once, but more than happy to just go and shoot, even each on his/her own. The guy, I wish I remember his name (slim and tall), was so rude and started accusing us of bending the rules and trying to come as a group and then deciding to break up. Whatever made up stuff. We explained, we only organized and arrived together but we barely know each other. We are not a group. Just check us in 3 or 4 at a time, we don't care, whatever works for you. He kept accusing us of being malicious and wanting to bend the rules. Our party basically felt sour, unwelcome and we all decided to leave. The worst customer service. Each could have easily spent 120$ in gun rentals and ammo; easily close to 1000$ for the eight of us. Would never recommend this place. Avoid at all cost if you have dignity and want to keep yourself respect. Don't put yourself at the whim of an egomaniacal guy behind the reception counter. read more

Don't buy ammo here. They sold me Magtech ammo and it failed in five different firearms. It jammed in my 9mm, .380 ,32ACP, and 45ACP. I also had "light strikes" in my .357 magnum revolver. They blamed my guns. I brought a few boxes of federal and Winchester (which ran flawlessly). My semi auto handguns only failed to cycle when I used the ammo they sold me. I asked them to reimburse me and they refused. The range is solid. They allow semi automatic rifles and shotguns, but their ammunition is subpar and I had to take it to get disposed of because it was unreliable. Staff isn't great. In my view, bring your own targets and ammo. Don't rent anything here but a lane to shoot in. This place will screw inexperienced shooters. BYOG (bring your own gun). read more

I recently used WESG for a Silencer Shop transfer. I've never used Silencer Shop before, so this whole process was novel for me. Israel handled my transaction, from start to finish. While not knowing how this all worked, Israel explained everything efficiently and effectively, leaving me with little opportunity to screw anything up. He made sure I managed each step, and treated my like I was valued, without condescension. This is a really well run shop. They have their process down. TLDR : One of the staff at the gun shop was so rude and senseless to my group and no other staff(there were atleast 4) intervened with a logical explanation when he was going on and on with his bogus claim that we were violating policy. We put a post in a conference group that we are going to wades and whomever can join, and 8 people turned up who drove themselves out of which I personally know 3. We verified no reservation was required as well. When we walked in, initially they were ready to accomodate all of us, but when one person in the team they already accepted wanted to join my team (still at the counter signing up) which was behind 2 other groups not related to us, they moved all of us aside telling we violated policy, the policy being we have to tell them if we are coming with large groups of people. We made it clear that we dont know any of the people(I am meeting them for 1st time) in the other team as we didnt know who all would turn up from a large group attending the conference, other than my friend who was with them. It is essentially different groups of people coming to a shop. A staff(Slim , Tall guy, dont know name) denied entry for everyone citing staffing is low and they want to serve other customers, which doesnt make sense since they were ready to accept us just a moment ago. We were a multicultural group and seemed like they were discriminating us against some other groups. If staffing is low, we would have waited. Not only that they didnt told us to wait, they didnt even offer us basic decency to hear us our side. I felt it as an utter disrespect. I was shocked to see such an instance of discrimination in Washington state which I never had to encounter. Definitely not recommend this place. read more

My experience with Wade's Eastside Guns was terrible. It was very overpriced and the service was atrocious. I highly recommend against taking a new shooter here. Perhaps it's less terrible for someone who doesn't need to rent all of their equipment and buy their ammo. My story: My son's wife expressed an interest in learning how to shoot a gun, so I took her and my son to Wade's Eastside Guns. The range was cool, but they were slammed, and it just kept getting busier. The guy at the counter suggested that since it was my daughter-in-law's first time shooting, that she take the New Shooter course for $40. It includes training on how to fire a gun, load a gun, etc. He said it takes about 20 minutes. I said that sounded like a fine idea. Then we picked a package (rifles & handguns) and bought a box of overpriced .22 ammo. Because they were slammed, instead of the New Shooter course in a training room, she got 90 seconds of "here's how to hold this plastic gun" in the lobby by the counter. Then he rang us up - over $200. I asked, "What was the $40 training I paid for?" He said, "That was me showing her how to hold a gun, just now, because I can't leave the counter right now." I was super upset, but he had no interest in refunding the $40 training fee. We went into the range, with no instructor or guidance. I figured out how to load the first handgun's clip, and get it into the gun, and get it to fire. It felt unsafe; I've got very little experience with handguns. But we figured it out and shot about half the rounds. Then we swapped out for a rifle. I couldn't figure out how to chamber a round, nor could a helpful lady who was there shooting. I eventually flagged down a passing employee and he fiddled around with the gun and finally figured out how to get it loaded. We each took some shots with the .22 rifle. Finally, I swapped out for a revolver, which I've never fired before either. We each got some shots with that. It was ridiculously overpriced for what we got. :( Even if we hadn't paid for a $40 First Shooter course that we definitely didn't receive, it would've been ridiculously overpriced. $160 to fire 50 rounds so that my daughter-in-law has some basic gun experience? Ridiculous. But man, that $40 course that he didn't have time to deliver, was super insulting to pay for. And when I asked about it, he blew me off and ran the charge anyway. So, over $200 to fire 50 rounds, with a training course that did not happen. I emailed the business to give them a chance to respond. They did not respond to my email. read more

I have no complaints about this place. I am a lifetime member and have enjoyed going there weekly even during Covid. The prices for guns and rifles are high but it you can find it elsewhere, then more power to you. The ammo prices are reasonable as they sell 9mm and 45 acp for about $35 for a box of 50 rounds. It can be had cheaper online if you can find it, but I see it currently selling for $45 at stores that do have the same ammo in stock. Be careful if buy cheaper ammo online because more than likely, they cannot be used at this range. That is my only gripe. Thus, I also joined an outdoor club where I can use those ammo. The experience was truly disappointing: we came with a couple of close friends and friends of friends. To comply with the rule, we decided to split the group, and just before we could start the session, we were called out as malicious and "exploiting the system". It made no sense. We were not a real group, we just wanted to enjoy the moment, and it was perfectly fine to be separated (again friends of friends). I can understand there's some shortage of staff, and it could be complicated to handle all customers. However insulting customers it just not acceptable. Staff is ok as long as you don't question them. I was a member and happy about it. I took a shooting target with a real illustration of a person with a knife. The range staff in the membership area comes to tell me I can't shoot that target because it's not permitted. The reason is because a real person was on the target. They gave me circles to shoot, I ordered targets from Amazon that were computer animated characters. I first asked because I'm trying to be within the guidelines. They told me that would not work and wanted me to shoot some ducks and pigs that they offered. No other range has problems but this one. I mentioned they should have that written on the wall. Even if you are a member. They told me they didn't care if I had membership, they called the "range master" or something but he seemed like there was nothing to talk about. I decided to lose my membership and go elsewhere. Bulls eye in Tacoma didn't have issues and federal way on 330th didn't have a problem. So why pay for a membership where the left will micromanage even the target. Bears, ducks and bees will never attack me. read more

I applaud Wade as a capitalist. But I don't recommend this place any more. In my opinion, you don't get the value you used to here, which I did recommend. The staff used to be some gritty, great, highly skilled honest folks that really loved their job. Today it's retail level now. I think Wade has reached a level of complacency that he doesn't need to be really excellent anymore here, so long as there aren't many options nearby. Specific complaints: 1) Get ready to sign your life away on a poorly designed iPad kiosk that was written by a computer dropout - it's hard to use, even for an expert. In the good old days, you had paper forms that were fast easy. Not anymore. Screw this. Makes the doctor's forms when visiting a clinic seem quick. If it were well designed and actually faster (as automation is faster and I can type faster than I can write, then fine, but this a time waster). 2) The range has crappy cardboard holders that use paperclips to hold your targets. Cheap. Takes way longer to reload your paper targets. Like getting into a nice car but the floorboards are made of cardboard. Come on. 3) Ripoff on the ammo- doubled the prices on target rounds, blaming "Covid". That's the real gripe here - almost double the price for target 9mm rounds. Screw that. There is no shortage on this round and I'm getting ripped off. Forget your 'eyes' - that'll be $5 on these cheap glasses that cost us $0.49 and fog up. I'm a lifetime member at the range and I've recently visited it after a couple of years break. I've brought some loaded mags and I've been told that this is against the policy, since all the ammo needs to be inspected. I've unloaded the ammo, the staff inspected it and after 1.5 hours shooting I was done for the day. On my way home, I've got a call from somebody from the range telling me that I've got a warning for breaking loaded mags policy back in 2017 and if I would not comply they would cancel my membership. I was under impression the caller had assumed that I intentionally violate this policy. The mag policy was not outlined neither in the safety rules, nor on the range's website, so this was a surprise for me. I would not recommend getting a long-term membership for the range. read more

Its a shooting range. What's there to complain about? The AC is on. The restroom is clean. Targets are kind of cheap. Check-in is always smooth and easy. Just follow the rules about not bringing pre-loaded mags so they can inspect ammo and you'll be at a lane in no time. As for the mask and Covid stuff, if you don't feel safe then go to an outdoor range. You can only control what you do yourself, not what someone else does. There's plenty of outdoor spots to put rounds down range to choose from in the area. Oh and the the signs are meant to be funny. Come on now. I'd give it 5 stars if shotguns were allowed at all times but sadly they're only allowed last weekends of the month. Other than that, this place is great. read more

My husband and I went to Wade's to rent a lane at the range and try out different pistols. Upon arrival, we were able to park outside of the facility. They have a large parking lot at no charge, which we found very convenient. Staff was welcoming and optimistic. They had us sign a waiver before we stepped in and asked if we had safety equipment needed to enter the range, which we didn't. So they conveniently provided headphones and goggles. First pistol we tried had a lot of recoil so we switched out to a different pistol with a help of one of their employees. We particularly enjoyed the attitude of the workers, everyone seemed like they enjoyed being there. The range also has a ladies special on Tuesdays and Sundays (at 50% off) so I will be taking my mom there again on one of those days. read more
