Very poor customer service and clarity in direct emails sent to me. I had left a pair of on sale levis in my cart because of shipping charges. I received an email a couple of days later offering me to return to my cart and use code coastalfreeship. The code did not work. I emailed saying code didnt work. Received another email later offering same free shipping on my cart with a different code. This code didnt work either. Emailed again, received email back saying basically items not on sale qualify for free shipping. Coastal sent me the offer on what was in my cart to get free shipping. Definitely no fine print about on sale items. My cart was quite clear on the price was still on sale. So why send the emails if what I had in the cart did nof qualify. Perhaps a bit of a scam.... 11/17 Auburn location. I don't leave bad reviews unless it is such a bad experience. Everything me and my wife were looking for had no prices anywhere. We were in the clothing, farm . The shoe area was tore up and my wife took one look and walked away. They had 30% clothing racks but no original prices so you would known 30% off of what. Feed buckets, feed storage no prices. We ended up just getting our chicken feed and went to the cashier. Two cashier's 3 customers so not busy. Not a word to me and my wife, she pushed our basket back into me to get the tag on the feed still not a word. She rudely ask if we have a phone number with the store, my wife started to give her the number and was rudely told not yet. These were the only words spoken as she abruptly handed us our receipt. As I'm leaving the store my wife says she was awful. I said so it wasn't just me and her answer was no not at all. I walked back into the store and the only person I could find was the rude cashier wiping down a shelf with another employee. I asked if I could speak with a manager and she just pointed to the person standing next to her. And went back to wiping the shelf as I proceed to tell the manager my experience. All I got was I understand. When I turned and walked away I looked back and they went back to wiping shelves. We have gone so far down hill in customer service. No wonder everyone buys online now. Oh and the reason I don't leave bad reviews, I'm an estimater in a body shop and sometimes have terrible experiences with bad customers that I have to just smile and do everything to try everything possible and please them so we don't get bad yelp reviews that aren't justified. read more

Who would think a farm store has five (5), that's FIVE brand new Kel Tec PMR 30's on display (in stock). One all black and four in OD Green. I hunted every gun store I could think of looking for one of these, and their sticker price is lower than most everywhere else. The store is clean, neat and employees are friendly & personable. The gentleman at the gun counter was eager to assist me and was more than helpful answering questions. Great unknown spot adjacent to the outlet mall. Easy to find and tons of parking. Don't buy anything at Coastal. This is the 2nd time I have been there and dealt with mice. The first time I went I opened a horse tack box and a mouse ran out and had about 7 babies living in the tack box. I'm absolutely disgusted. The manager said "well it's a feed store what do you expect." I just went again today to purchase a horse blanket and they were folded on the shelf. I pulled a blanket down from about 4 shelves up and 5 mice fell out and almost landed on my head. Both times I have been there I have dealt with mice. I'm absolutely disgusted I buy my horse feed here and the manager told me the mice live in the hay and get into the feed. The manager wouldn't do anything about the mice and once again she told me "it's a feed store what do you expect." THERE SHOULD NOT BE MICE LIVING IN TACK FOR HORSES!! Imagine how many diseases they carry and they are living in the blankets and probably in all the human clothes they carry too. Not to mention they sell human food as well. All the grain bags for horses and chickens have holes in it from mice. There's mice poop up and down isles and there's dead mice underneath the food. I don't even feel comfortable touching anything there knowing they have a mice infestation. It's disgusting they are living up on hard to reach shelves in blankets and other stuff. As a customer I'm disgusted and will not buy a single thing from there ever again because of how traumatized I am. I absolutely loved coastal and have been going there for years for my horse. And these past two times I have been there has ruined it for me. The manager will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it. I do not recommend buying anything there. You or your animal might catch a disease. I have been to many feed stores and have never seen mice in any of them. I board my horse at a barn and have seen less mice there than I have at Coastal. Coastal needs to be shut down and they need a new manager who will actually be willing to fix the problem rather than just telling you "there's nothing we can do about it, it's a feed store what do you expect." If I could give Coastal 0 stars I would. I was going to buy a whole cart full of tack stuff for my horse today but I'd rather spend my money at a store that cares about their customers and doesn't have mice in everything you touch. Hearth customer service experience was not the best. If you call.... Good luck. Might as well talk to a tree. Whenever I call.... CHIP is always either on lunch or on the phone. However.... The stove manager got all the install prices wrong and I thought it just an honest error until he completely ignored us on a remote promised on two $3,000 insert installs. I love the selection of farm feed and cost at coastal. But the lack of customer service and help there is beyond ridiculous! More than once I've been to the store and have had to walk back out to the parking lot to get a feed cart. More than once I've asked for help with feed carry out and no one showed up to help. Surely there are men working in the feed warehouse that should be able to assist the ladies with carry out quickly. We spend about $800 a month at Coastal and if the customer service doesn't improve we will drive to Wilco read more

If Cabela's and Mud Bay had a baby it would be this place...I love it! The prices for premium dog food are surprisingly competitive to Chewy.com and I love how clean and organized it is. I noticed the prices for other things like battery operated cars, toys and camping gear are high, though. They even have live rabbits for sale and an entire hearth section. Every time I've been there the cashier has been friendly as well. If you buy premium brand dog or cat food, I highly recommend checking them out. read more

I split my farm purchases between here and Del's feed. The prices are not the lowest but there is a wide selection. I guess the target is the gentleman farmer. The best deal is on damaged feed sacks--- 50% off. I shopped for a woodstove but the installation wait was a month. Which gives me time to shop around more. After reading the review about Chip, it seems a good idea to go to a store that only does woodstoves and pelletstoves. read more

They have seasonal baby chickens! Ooh yes, the little peeps sold me on this place! They have a great selection of Danner Boots and Carharts so this is my go to place for work cloths. They also have a community board, which I love and the bathrooms are kept clean. They do have some toys for human kids and a small selection of things for cats and dogs. Mostly I like their tools selection. The drills are decent and are reasonably priced. The store is kept clean and well stocked but you're on your own when you're on the sales floor. So get used to finding things on your own. I've rarely seen any employees on the sales floor and when I do, you have to nearly jump on them to get them to help you because they're usually busy trying to restock the shelves. In all, this is a great store and can be fun. Just make sure you can shop on your own and don't need a sales person to hold your hand through finding and picking your purchase here. read more

We decided to come here due to a Sunday AD on black and gold potting soil. The place was quite impressive. Anything you may need for farming for slightly a higher price. Actually, let me correct myself. Based of of a few items we normally purchase else where we compared the price to Coastal and it appears that Coastal is a bit more costly. When it comes to actual farming equipments and bulks of supplies, we cannot voice out opinion on it. Nonetheless, the place is very well kept. Everything is organized and again, impressed. We happened to have gone during a "free peanuts while you shop" promotion. There are large galvanized tub filled with salted in shell peanuts. Along with those you see a large trash can and a sign stating how long this will be going on for and a "warning" that there will be peanut dust in the air - I appreciate that for the fear of peanut allergy people. We will be back to check out what else they may have to offer. Workers are friendly and there was even some rabbits in the tubs for sale/pet AND they supplied hand sanitizer. Kudos! read more

A friend of mine had bought some at Coastal at The Super Mall, so that's where I went a few weeks ago. I was told they didn't carry it, but would possibly carry it in the future - maybe a couple weeks. I went again today and had to search up and down the aisles because I couldn't find someone to ask. I finally gave up. I saw a couple employees around, but they were pretty engaged in conversation with other customers. Oh well, I can probably find grip tape on Amazon. I shopped here for the first time this past week. The store is well laid out. They have security working and friendly at the door. The staff greeted me upon entry and knew what I was looking for and took me to my department. She was helpful and knowledgeable in the products. Upon cashing out I was given an added discount without any hassle. The manager came over and helped me get a lowered price on something that was going on sale the next day. Such a relief not to have to make the drive the next day to save a few bucks. This place is under great management I would have to say. Atrocious customer service. Cashiers here are slower than snails, don't know anything about the sales going on at the store, and are mostly rude. Also, if people are at the register and haven't finished their shopping, tell them to move to the side and allow other customers that are ready to purchase actually get through.
