    Oh its on!

Nope! Sad to say this place is not the best for Korean style bbq. Definitely over priced and they will try to scam you for the premium meat selection if you are not paying attention. The wuality of food was ok. French fries and dumplings were the best. Service is attentive and courteous but that situation about charging us for stuff we didn't eat is absolutely unacceptable!!! There are so many better Korean bbq's in Austin just by pass this one.

    LA Galbi

2.5 out of 5 Coming from LA, our Korean BBQ standards are set pretty high -- whether it's AYCE in Koreatown or a sit-down galbi spot in NYC -- so take this review with that context in mind. K. BBQ has been on our list for a while, and we finally made it out. It's a solid concept, but the execution left us wanting more. --- Pros: - AYCE concept with a good variety - Robot servers (a fun touch when they're in action) - Spacious inside - Abundant parking - Friendly and attentive front staff - Staff replaced the cooking tops regularly -- appreciated that Side Notes: - Open daily 11 AM - 10 PM - Lunch AYCE: ~$20-21 | Dinner AYCE: $32 - Premium meat options available - Parking lot gets narrow and busy What We Got (A + B Combo AYCE): - LA Galbi - Bulgogi - Chadolbaegi (Beef Brisket) - Japchae - Kimchi Fried Rice - Dwenjang Jigae - Steamed Egg - Cheese Corn - House Salad - Banchan (Side Dishes) --- Design/Space: K. BBQ is spacious, and you can tell they put thought into the concept -- the robot servers were a fun touch that made it feel lively when they first opened (didn't see them this time around). That said, the ambiance has shifted a bit since then. The main cooking area wasn't the cleanest, and you can visibly see inventory and boxes in the back, which was a bit distracting and took away from the overall dining experience. Small things, but when you're paying dinner AYCE prices, the details matter. Service/Staff: This was probably the highlight of our visit. The staff upfront were friendly, courteous, and on top of things -- replacing the cooking tops multiple times as expected when grilling galbi and bulgogi (the sugar chars, it happens). No complaints here. Service was attentive and responsive throughout. Food/Drinks: This is where K. BBQ lost us a bit. Using LA and NYC as our 5 out of 5 benchmark, here's how things landed: - LA Galbi (3/5) -- The only meat that stood out, but the cuts were very thin and minimal (it wasn't the best cuts). Flavor was okay, not memorable. - Chadolbaegi/Brisket (3/5) -- Decent, probably the second-best thing we had alongside the cheese corn. - Cheese Corn (3/5) -- No complaints. - Bulgogi (2/5) -- Below-average bulgogi. - Kimchi Fried Rice (1/5) -- Bland, lacked any real kimchi flavor, no egg, and minimal kimchi. It's a simple dish, but it missed on every front for us, and we wanted to love it. - Dwenjang Jigae (Soybean Soup) (2/5) -- Salty, and the broth reminded us more of a ramen soup base than an actual dwenjang jigae. Didn't have that deep, fermented flavor that makes the dish. - Egg Soup (2/5) -- IYKYK -- the egg should be silky and fluffy. This one just didn't have it. - Japchae (2/5) -- Lacked veggies and felt more like an afterthought than a proper dish. - Banchan/Side Dishes (1/5) -- Bland across the board and didn't feel fresh. For an AYCE Korean spot, the banchan sets the tone -- and this one fell flat. Opportunities to Improve: Two things. One, the food quality needs to match the price point -- at $32 for dinner AYCE, the banchan, soups, and rice dishes should not feel like afterthoughts. Two, tighten up the back-of-house presentation. If guests can see the storage area and the cooking tops aren't consistently clean, it detracts from what could be a really solid experience. --- Summary: K. BBQ has a great concept and genuinely friendly staff, but the food quality didn't meet our standards -- and we're comparing it to what we know AYCE Korean BBQ can be at its best. The galbi, brisket, and cheese corn were okay. However, the kimchi fried rice, dwenjjang jigae, and banchan all fell short for us. We miss the LA quality, and until the food catches up to the concept, it's hard to justify the dinner price tag over other options in Austin. That said, it's family-owned and still relatively young -- there's real potential here. We're rooting for them to level up, and if the reviews reflect improvement, we'd be open to giving it another shot.

When KBBQ doesn't "hit". I'm a huge fan of kbbq so it's not like this is a first timer review. Dinner for two here is between $150-$200 depending on what you get. First, the good: the servers offer to change the grills out frequently and that is needed because they get nasty fast here. The seating situation is not bad either, the place is big and open. The beef belly and pork belly were pretty good. The meh: The banchans were hit or miss. Some where tasty and others felt kinda flat, bland, or lower quality. The fresh water eel had a weird consistency but tasted good. The not great: Paying $23 more on top of the AYCE price for ribeye that doesn't taste the best. It kinda looked like they were passing short rib off as ribeye to be honest. The bad: A lot of the meats had unnatural consistency from the over use of tenderizer. The salmon had a weird orange color and tasted awful. There were only a few banchans offered. Usually when paying $150+ I'd expect better sides. I felt like the low quality meat for the price would be the only reason I wouldn't bother to come back.

Y'all, I love me some Korean BBQ! And this is one of my favorite locations. Not only is the food super delicious, The staff is super friendly. I've dined in here several times and I've ordered Uber eats several times and now I'm ordering takeout for the first time. You just walk in up to the counter, You're always greeted quickly and with a friendly face. Place your order, have a seat and the food comes out within 10 minutes or so. On this visit, I was given a complimentary glass of their cinnamon tea to enjoy while I waited on the food. It was good, But it was strong cinnamon and sweet. I love the barley tea, It's mild and has good health benefits. Anywho, I always order the japchae appetizer. You get so much and it is absolutely delicious. You can tell that they make it fresh. I also love their house salad, also very fresh and such great flavor in the dressing. For to go We ordered the LA galbi and chicken teriyaki, both come with bonchon and rice. You get so much food. I love all of their bonchon!! For dine-in, They have so many tables available, And they do a really good job keeping the table cooking smoke in check. So when you walk in you don't smell burnt food or cooked food or smoke. I definitely recommend this Korean BBQ location. It's one of our faves and we'll go back again and again and again!!!

The food is here is really good. The staff are very polite. Good ambiance and very clean. The kimchee is very good as well. We really enjoyed eating at this barbecue place and we are looking forward to eat at this place again. Highly recommended the place for people who wants to have eat all you can Korean barbecue.

I don't get the hype of these places tbh. They are expensive, you have to cook all the food yourself, and when the middle burner is just getting hot enough, the employees want to take it to be cleaned. The food was good but I felt wasn't amazing or anything to write home about and the service was a little strange with the almost unnecessary amount of employees that asked if we were okay. Just lemme eat! Overall, not bad, but probably won't go again. If it's your thing you'll probably like it but it's a no for me dawg.

This place nails it every time and today was exceptional! The service from start to finish was so attentive. It was very busy and they still came to our table and made sure that our grill was replaced frequently, our sauces were filled, and our drinks were replaced. I've never had such fast and attentive service here, it really was a game changer. This spot is already a bop but after tonight this is going to be one of my favs. I hope they keep it up with the great food and service!

We have been two times and each time the experience has been great! I love the robot that brings your dishes over. The servers are always helpful and pleasant. I brought my niece to try it out and she loved the bulgogi while I savored the LA ribs. So good! I usually like to be strategic and eat meat however I wanted to try the soup so we ordered the soybean paste soup to try. It was ok and the steamed egg was ok. Be sure to try the different meats. Parking can be difficult at times. It's a busy area and for some reason they drew the parking spots narrow so you will see vehicles taking up two spots. That won't stop us from coming back.

Loved this place! It's so fun to find great Korean food. This place is nice because you can select the all you can eat BBQ or the entree options. I love myself an all you can eat Korean BBQ spot, but this time I went for something a little bit different and I tried the bibimbap. We absolutely loved the banchan, it tasted really good. The cheese corn was also a winner. This place can accommodate so many people, it's huge! It's located in a nice spot with a lot of Asian stores near by. I can't wait to come again!

My first Kbbq since moving to Austin and I was not disappointed! I have had so many options living in Southern California and I wasn't sure how Austin's selection would be but I was delightfully surprised! Came at 7pm on a Saturday with no wait. Seated immediately and ordered the premium AYCE menu. Ordered wagyu brisket, prime rib, and ribeye for first round. The meat came via robot servers which was awesome. Servers were very attentive to taking orders, refills, and changing grills. Every meat was delicious as well as all the sides. Will definitely bring my guests here when they come to visit!

We ended up in our new favorite Lamar strip mall -- we've been enjoying sampling all the different cuisines and stores here over the past few months -- and decided to try out K BBQ. Didn't know what to expect -- I'd only been to a Korean BBQ restaurant once before. We happened to be there for all-you-can-eat, which seemed like a decent deal, though my husband and I both knew we wouldn't be able to eat much. I recommend trying the cheese corn, and the bulgogi was my favorite. The service wasn't the best, but we did love the robots. I saw one celebrating someone's birthday, which seems like it would be a fun idea. I saw conflicting information on Yelp on whether you could take food home or not. One review said you could take cooked food -- and the menu said you get charged if it's over a certain weight. We had very little meat left, but we didn't want it to go to waste ... we asked our server for a to-go box, and he said, "We don't do to-go, and if I had seen this before I ran your check, I would have charged you." So ... charged us for food we couldn't take home? It doesn't really make sense. Just be aware.

For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. We arrived and in a few minutes we were seated at a table and immediately given water in mason jars and asked for our drink order. I opted just got an Arnold Palmer but the drink menu had some cute cocktails and mocktails, as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. Instead of bread, our server brought us a basket of seasoned popcorn. The popcorn had almost like a Cajun flair, but it wasn't spicy. It reminded me of the Ground Round chain from when I was a little girl. We decided to try the corndog shrimp appetizer. I couldn't decide on an entree because everything looked so good, so I did the Parmesan chicken and my coworker did the steak salad. The shrimp arrived so quickly with four large pieces of shrimp on a stick wrapped in corn dog batter and fried to a golden brown, with a blueberry mustard dipping sauce. The shrimp were delicious and while I didn't get much of the blueberry in the mustard, I enjoyed the sweetness it provided. My Parmesan chicken was a crispy and juicy breaded chicken cutlet with a lemon cream, artichoke hearts, and what appeared to be prosciutto on top. It was served with a side of pesto couscous with grape tomatoes and cucumbers. I wish I had ordered mashed potatoes on the side, because I wanted something to soak up the lemon cream sauce, which was the highlight of the chicken. We also were served 3 mini cornbread muffins with honey butter. My coworker said the salad was just okay, and was a little on the small side. The desserts were definitely a MUST and if you visit Moonshine and don't save room for the Espresso Brownie or the Peanut Butter Pie, you're going to regret it. The brownie was so fudgey and warm and served with ice cream. It was decadent. The peanut butter pie was the biggest slab of PB pie I've ever had with a thick Oreo crust. I wish I had someone with me to share it, it was huge. Overall, if I lived in the area I would definitely be back to try other things.

We split 1 lb of brisket and 1 lb of pork ribs. Potato salad, coleslaw along with the complimentary pickles shed onions you serve yourself. Absolutely delicious. Best brisket and ribs I've ever had and I smoke a lot of meat myself including brisket. Mines good but not this good. Last time I was here an elderly gentleman leaned over and said the slices of bread you don't eat are great to use as napkins. He was right! Unconventional but it works better than paper napkins. Each time I wondered if a table would be available when we needed one and both times there were. We sat at a table with others that had room and they invited us to sit down before we asked. Texas hospitality! There are a few outdoor tables too. Hopefully I'll be back next year.

Now I know what real barbecue should taste like. This was our first stop in Austin and it was…read moreawesome. We stopped in about an hour before closing which had its pros and cons. The pro being the line was super short and the con being brisket was the only meat option available. We were blown away with how perfectly tender the brisket was. We could have used a plastic fork to cut it because it just melted in your mouth. We also got each of their sides and all were perfect! Franklin Barbecue is a must visit while in Austin. I'll be thinking about this place for a while, it was that good.

We found Gebby's BBQ to be reasonably priced compared to other Austin BBQ restaurants. From the beginning, both Chris (The Owner and Master Pit Man) and Elizabeth to be extremely professional and prompt. Any questions or changes needed on the quote, they were on top of anything we needed. The day of the event, they arrived early as they said they would and set up quickly. The aroma of the food was wonderful throughout our venue. We had a handful of vegetarian/vegan employees and the offer a smoked vegetable tray with corn tortillas as one of their options. The food we chose was a 3 meat plate with 3 sides and cookies for the dessert. We chose Brisket, Turkey and Sausage. For the sides, we had Gouda Mac and Cheese, Creamed Corn and Beans. Everything was extremely delicious and the feedback I gathered from numerous employees was nothing but positive reviews on the food. They even allow us to KEEP the leftover food! This was awesome as we had a few bbq quotes that STATED that we could not keep the leftover food! Overall, our experience with them far exceeded our expectations and I would recommend them for your catering needs!
