My family and I first time here was on my daughter's birthday, this past May. For our first experience, it was delightful! Food was delicious as expected! Our server(Mr.Eli) was the nicest, friendly, knowledgeable, and most of all had patience with us.
Our second experience here was still great but not like the first time, which was okay. The server wasn't as attentive, and they weren't busy. Our first time it was busy but Mr. Eli made his rounds often.
Our third time coming here wasn't the best. Also was not busy and wait staff would ignore the call button... and mind you, there is a two hour time limit and is in-forced when busy. In the beginning of the menu booklet also has it written about the time limit. So you can imagine we grew frustrated because we weren't getting attended, and time was ticking for us! When the server would come, they seemed annoyed, would sighed and mumbled something in another language.
Our fourth and most recent visit my husband decided that was going to be our last time going, because how bad it was. When we were seated, we asked for soft drinks. Our waitress got annoyed quickly at this request. And Yes, you have to ask for soft drinks if you want soft drinks. We didn't mind this, just letting the folks that are interested in going know this. Water, ice water is what is served, which is awesome, but a few in my crew can't eat without their soft drinks lol
Well, we got seated next to a family similar in size as ours, (which is NOT the problem, but this bit play into the reason why we will no longer go.). So, we began to order, again not busy(we usually went during the weekday), our waitress was already snappy and mean, our guess because we asked for soft drinks at the beginning. Food was good for the first two rounds(I say rounds because they bring out a plate of each item you order. For example; the short ribs: one round=A plate of 4-6 riblets. Teriyaki chicken: one round= two small marinated chicken breast you have to use scissors to cut up into pieces. Those were the only rounds we got, because we kept encountering the same issue from our previous visit, them ignoring to call button. Luckily, Mr. Eli saw us just sitting there and asked if we needed anything. For those that might be asking why didn't we get up and do or say something...we are non-confrontational people, it's embarrassing for us to drawing attention like that. Sorry to disappoint. As Mr. Eli leaves to submit our order of items, a whole different waiter(not our snappy waitress) come says, "here is your ticket. Cash, check or card??!!". Now here comes the bit about the family that was similar in size as us, that was there when we got seated next to them. The family was fine, no issues with them. Remember how I stated that there is a time limit right? Well the waiter that bought our ticket made us leave before our time was up. Turn off our grill and all. We don't usually stay the whole two hour, maybe an 1:45 at the most. This time we were there for only an hour or less... But the family that we were sat next to, that was there before we arrived, stayed... So yeah pretty unfair! Then to pay 258$ and hardly got the chance to eat anything!
Food is good, short rib, spicy pork, brisket, teriyaki chicken, and the cheese corn! We enjoy very much the corn cheese here and it is unlimited, but almost every time we've gone, we order 2-3 times each(4 of us) and this annoys them for some reason though.
Parking isn't the best. Since it's located within a shopping center. Parking slots aren't ideal especially if own trucks or large SUVs. This shopping center is never not busy, so good luck finding a parking spot too!
Hummm, ambiance... it's decent. I really don't know much about ambiance, I only care about cleanliness and clutter and other obvious things. My kids did say, " woah nice!" especially my daughter, on our first visit. For the most part it's clean. Noise levels depend.... Like I said before, the times we have gone, it wasn't busy but it would get somewhat loud(doesn't bother us). But, I assume most restaurants and public places are like that. I never been to a public place(other than a book store or library) where it was not loud.
I'm not sure if I recommend it here.
Food is good.
I guess if you do decide to go, ask when time starts running so you're able to put a timer on your phone. Also, pay attention who was there before you, just in case anything unjustly happens.
I will add that i did ask a manager or supervisor, I think on our 2 or 3 time going if we had to leave at the two hour mark. She did say yes when they are busy, which is understandable. But she did also say it was okay if it passed the two hour mark if they aren't busy. read more
