Well today I finally did and I am % satisfied. I got two spinach patties a cucumber natural drink one order of curry chicken and one order of jerk salmon. Omg that salmon was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIOOOOOIOOO GOOD. I'm going back again and again and again and again. The food was really good. The lady was so busy that took my order but she was pleasant. To start with the positive the portion size is reasonable and plantains come with the meals along with a well seasoned rice and peas. I've been coming here for a few years so I have a feel for the menu selection and the jerk sauce has not improved. The dark brown sauce is thick and has a dense herb taste that is not well paired with pepper. Plus the original sauce is not spicy. You can request a spicy sauce on the side but that is not spicy either. The jerk mushroom is too salty because the sauce it too strong for veggies. The sauce is also too strong for the salmon. Wow is this place is a deceiver. I stopped here for lunch when working in the area because I hadn't had any Jamaican food in a while and upon leaving the area I noticed the smoke flowing from the chimney. Man am I glad I stopped from the minute I walked in I knew I was in for a treat they were busy and there was a steady stream of people flowing in and out. As you walk in there's nothing fancy a small menu and counter to order and then a small counter area with plastic chairs to sit if you want to dine in but don't let that scare you away if your willing to wait a few minutes your in for a real treat. As you approach the counter there is a lady that will take your order who was super nice and helpful I wanted the lunch special but was undecided between the jerk and the curry chicken and she informed me they are both good but they are known for their jerk she offered to split mine up so I could make my own decision lol so I went for it the platter was so much for $11.00 it was a portion of jerk chicken and curry chicken , rice & peas, and cabbage, as well as a Jamaican patty and a soda to me it felt like a great deal I almost couldn't finish but it was so good I pushed through the curry had such great flavor as well as the Jamaican patty and the jerk chicken you could tell the jerk was fresh off the grill it was moist but crispy on the outside the special also comes with a soda and they have a array of Jamaican sodas and drinks I'm gonna make a point to come back for the brown stew and red snapper I would recommend this place to anyone yumm delicious read more

This is not jerk chicken, the flavor was on the sweet side, a tangy BBQ sauce without the bite...not the smoky, spicy smell that hits your nose and gets you salivating..I digress. Where was scotch bonnet pepper? It was severely needed. The rice and peas were okay, the plantains were sweet and also saturated in oil. I have never liked Jerk Chicken much, but this place has changed my mind. I got the dark meat meal with cabbage and fried plantains. I'lll admit, I punished off half of it in the car #coverseyes. Its kind of in a hidden location, so slow down when you approach the area so you don't miss it. I was visiting the area and turned to Yelp to find my dinner spot. Just Jerk was more interesting than the other places in the area so I called in an order and brought it back to my hotel. Let me tell you, this is damn good chicken, mon! The jerk chicken has a wet rub that is full of spices but not spicy, and a bit of sweetness. If you want more spice, they have some hot sauce that you can spread on your food. After many rave reviews, I decided to give Just Jerk a try. I've passed this small storefront on several occasions and wondered what it was like. Some yelpers mentioned that they tend to run out oh white meat chicken so I call beforehand to be sure that they had it. I was told that they did. I'm fortunate enough to work a few miles away from this gem of a hole in the wall. Be warned, these are small quarters with a total 3 chairs in the entire place that people sit on to wait for their food. No tables. Seeing the clouds of bbq smoke heaven that come out of the place as well as the fantastic smell is always an inspiration to go in. The jerk chicken is fantastic, and what I'd recommend above all else including the curry and brown stew chicken. The jerk chicken is perfectly smoked with a somewhat sweet sauce packed with flavor. Patties are great too. They have lunch specials from 11- 2 where you can get a platter with jerk chicken, plantains, rice and peas, and cabbage, a patty, and a drink for 11. I've eaten about 1/4 of the dish and have encountered about six bones, one of which was tiny, but sharp like a needle; it pierced the roof of my mouth, and was quite painful. My aunt used to order jerk from here growing up but I never walked in for just a platter until today. This is theeee best jerk I've ever had in the states!! Period! It was juicy, smoky, and even had some sweet undertone! I guess I'm a creature of habit because I like going to restaurant and know that the portions will be the same. At JJ's you won't be disappointed in that area. I always order the same thing: small dark jerk special which comes with a beef pattie (or you can get chicken) and a drink (any D&G soda goes nicely with it). For under $12 bucks it's a solid lunch deal before 2pm. There's no other place I will go to for authentic jerk. I made the mistake of ordering jerk salmon once when they ran out of chicken but this will never happen again. I was not a fan. TIP: Call ahead. Not worth the wait! My husband is Jamaican and he said my food I make at home is waaaay better. It took an hour to get our food. We placed the order, took a 10 min ride to get some cigars, came back, and still waited 30 mins for saucy wet soft skin jerk chicken. The brown stew chicken was dry, had absolutely no sauce, and tasted burnt. It also tasted like it was made with white meat. Brown stew needs dark meat only. I ordered take out from here. I didn't call ahead and also didn't have to wait long. Probably because it was a Monday. Initially, I ordered the curry chicken. However, they had run out so I ordered the jerk chicken dark meat platter. Love the cabbage- nice and crisp-tender. The rice and beans could use more beans. Plantains were an excellent complement to the spicy chicken. The woman behind the counter also managed to scrounge up the last bits of the curry chicken which she added to my carry out bag for free! So sweet of her. Now that I've had both I would actually recommend the jerk over the curry. Curry doesn't go as well with the rest of their sides as the jerk does.
