Juqi is a Beijing-style Chinese restaurant in Flushing. The ambience is very beautiful inside with Chinese decorations. Quick and kind, very attentive service. I was really impressed at how clean the food tasted and how the ingredients really shined. The sesame cabbage, Chinese broccoli, and fried eggplant were some of my favorite dishes - I think their vegetable dishes really shine here. The braised pork belly and peking duck were good! Not my favorite, the duck was presented very beautifully and I enjoyed the wraps and variety of fillings - unique and unlike other peking duck places I have had before.
Good service and clean environment. Peking duck skin not crispy enough and prefer buns rather than wraps. The wrap was too thick and pretty tasteless. Love they reuse the bone to make another dish either stir fry, salt & pepper or soup. We chose soup which was a light end to meal. Lamb cumin was definitely the better dish in my opinion. Should order side of rice because it's a flavor bomb. Get mild spicy if you can't handle spice. Also ordered sour cabbage which might be too sour for some people. It helped cut through the heaviness of meats. Overall worth the try but wont come back.

I make sure to come here every time I'm in the area (last time was 4 years ago). Taste and quality are great and consistent with what I remember and each dish is beautifully presented. Servers are attentive and made sure to ask about any dietary restrictions. Restaurant has lots of memorabilia on display which is interesting to peruse.
After having a not-so-great lunch today at a nearby Chinese restaurant down the block, I said to myself, "Why not make it better by having a second lunch at Juqi?" I was craving wheat gluten, so we decided to stop in--and I'm so glad we did! We were seated immediately upon walking in. I ordered the Braised Wheat Gluten with Shrimp and a white rice, while Hubby had the homemade dumplings. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, but my wheat gluten dish truly stood out! It was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what I had been craving. The entire team was professional, friendly, and welcoming. Selena was especially outstanding--she was warm and courteous and made us feel very well taken care of throughout our meal. Needless to say, we left happy and completely satisfied. It was the perfect way to turn a disappointing lunch into a much better dining experience. We're so glad we came here for our second lunch!
We waited 40 minutes for our Beijing duck to arrive. There was no communication, the service is really slow.
Juqi is an upscale Chinese spot in the Tangram mall with a huge menu and flavorful dishes! To get in the waitlist, you can use Minitable or sign up on the iPad with the hostess. The inside decor is super nice and reminds me of places like CheLi and Szechuan Mountain House so it's great for a nice dinner out. I did also see they had a ton of private room space in the back for events. We tried a few dishes here but my favorite was the Royal Style Barbeque Lamb! The portion was huge with the meat being super juicy, tender, flavorful and had a mild spiciness to it.
I think this place totally lives up to the hype!! delicious duck and non duck dishes!! best to go in a group to order a lot and def make a res!
Came here again with a larger party. We booked a private room this time for a party of 10. The space is great, especially with kids who like to get out of their seats. The room was very quiet, almost too quiet; great for our family get together where conversation is to be had - but I can imagine that it can be awkwardly quiet. Food is solid once again. Duck is excellent, but was not the highlight. My favorite dish has to be the eggplant, so not skip! The Boston lobster was prepared to perfection. Stone crab disappeared the moment it was set down. My kids loved the fried fish and the fried shrimp. Service was excellent. The seats in the private room are very grand wooden chairs, not the most comfortable, it they are an incredible statement piece to the room. Definitely recommend private room for big parties. Spending minimum is around $750 I think?
Back again to this absolutely delicious Beijing-style Chinese food! The Peking duck is the star , they bring the whole duck to the table and carve it right in front of you. The skin is incredibly crispy, and you wrap the tender slices in thin pancakes with cucumber and that delicious sauce. So good! There are tons of other dishes to choose from, the staff is wonderful, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Definitely a place I would come back to again and again. Highly recommend
4 stars for overall service and food. The ordering on the iPad was interesting as the menu was in Chinese. Thankful for the one line descriptions and photos to match. This hot spot, located on the first floor of Tangram Mall, is bustling with crowds on the weekends. They do not take reservations unless you want to book the private rooms or The Birdcage. There is a minimum spend to be in each room so choose wisely. The room we were seated in had a minimum spend of $500. Before you confirm your order, a staff member needs to come by and re-confirm your order, especially to ensure you spent the minimum. There were some very unique dishes and curiosity got the better of us - a few were hit or miss. The misses: hot mustard with cabbage, it was a spicy mustard (like wasabi kind of dry heat, where the heat clears your sinuses). And there was way too much mustard in general, on top. The other dish that was almost a miss, the plum cherry tomatoes. The tomatoes were sweet but skin was still on so the plum brine doesn't absorb too much into the tomato. This is an overall refreshing dish for the summer months since it's served cold. The hits: that full portion of Peking duck served in a fancy presentation like a jewelry trunk with drawers. Each compartment or drawer held a treasure to speak. The cut up duck meat, super moist, the garnish of julienned cucumbers and scallions, the delicious sauce and the fabulous crispy duck skin served over toast and topped with caviar. It was a sight indeed. Beautiful presentation. I also enjoyed the King Crab, this 4 pound beauty was cooked and served two ways. First, steamed crab meat legs with steamed eggs on a large plate. The second method was a stir-fry of more cut crab pieces. Well seasoned and tasted like a mixture of Old Bay seasoning and spices. The other favorite of the night was the pork meatball. While only one serving ordered, we managed to break it up with a spoon and everyone got to try it. The other stand out dish was the brisket and beef tendon. Very saucy and tender. I would have wanted to try their fish dishes but all were spicy or marked with a red pepper icon. Since it's a Beijing style menu, I would presume too spicy for my taste. The coolest feature of being in the private room, the motorized lazy Susan and of course, having privacy. Made our birthday banquet much more enjoyable so that we didn't have to sit in the loud, main dining area.
Ambiance , service and seating was excellent! My family treated me to Peking Duck, Royal lamb barbecue, Organic Cauliflower with spicy pork belly, Peking Duck soup, Braised Tofu with seafood including fish, shrimp, Calamari . Food was spectacular
Located in flushing within a mall, this might have been one of the top restaurants in NYC that I have been to, and am looking forward to coming again. There was a long wait as we put our names down for a party of four, but there is a lot to do in the mall as you wait. Our party of four was able to get seated on a Sunday afternoon after about 30 mins or so. The indoors is very well decorated and it has a nice dimly lit atmosphere. Something this place does do really well is the plating and presentation. Our first appetizer were these shrimp balls and they served 9 items on this really stunning tree holder. We ordered pork, some boiled bok choi, and Peking duck. I think in NYC this was the best Peking duck experiences I have had. They provided a large variety of toppings more than just the basic green onions. They ask if you want the bones boiled or fried afterwards. They provide a large amount of wraps for you to enjoy, and the duck was prepared beautifully. Now this place does get pricey but my friends and I loved our visit. They show you how to make each roll, they provide plastic gloves are you prep the duck rolls. Will definitely plan to come back, every thing we ate was fantastic and we had a great time. It does get a bit pricey however.

Absolute best Peking duck I've ever had! Their last call is 9:20pm, but they were still very accommodating. Workers were very very patient. We ordered half duck, lychee shrimp balls, and some veggies. The half duck does not come with caviar unlike the whole duck, so if you want, you can order small duck squares with caviar on top for $20 a plate. Definitely recommend half duck (good for 2) and the shrimp balls! Presentation was beautiful. You order on the tablet and have to flag them down to place and confirm the order. They give you floss, wipes, gloves, mints, literally anything you need. You get a free cute bunny dessert if you give them 5 star review and 2 photos. They're located on the bottom floor of the mall, next to Kura. read more

Juqi brings a real taste of Beijing to Flushing. The star, of course, is the Peking duck -- beautifully roasted, with crisp golden skin and juicy, flavorful meat. It's carved tableside with care, and the thin pancakes are the perfect wrap with scallions, cucumber, and hoisin sauce. Easily one of the best duck experiences I've had in Queens. The rest of the menu isn't an afterthought either. The duck soup made from the bones is rich and warming, and their Beijing-style dishes like zhajiangmian and stir-fried lamb are excellent. Portions are generous and great for sharing. Service is efficient and surprisingly attentive, even when the place is packed. Prices feel fair for the quality, and the atmosphere has a lively, authentic vibe. Pro tip: reserve a duck ahead of time if you're coming during dinner rush -- it's that popular. Had a reservation for lunch, although probably not necessary since we went during the week and there weren't too many other people at the time. Obviously got the duck and it was an alright show. The waiter-suggested method of wrapping was clean and game changing. Got the cold noodles to add some carbs and they were lighter than expected but just okay. Also ordered the forbidden fried rice for the fire, but it was just a flash behind the rice, not necessarily any profile added or additional aspect to the dish. Still had good flavor regardless. Both the peach and the mahjong desserts were again mostly for the novelty but also not too sweet and a nice way to round out the meal. read more

Peking duck was delicious. Just order the Peking duck. Came on a Sunday night and had a 30 min wait. But it was well worth if for the Peking duck. We got the half duck but regretted not getting the full one with the caviar. Maybe next time read more
This place is so good. 2 of the dishes here actually changed my life, and I still think about it every day since I've come here. Really clean interior, spacious tables, and friendly staff. Must visit!!! FOOD: Sesame Paste Cabbage (10/10) - The sesame paste sauce here is actually life changing. I could eat this non stop over and over again. Order this when you come. Fried Eggplant (10/10) - The second most amazing dish I've ever had. The eggplants are fried so light but pack so much flavor. I need to eat this again now Tendon + Sea cucumbers (6/10) - Not my favorite dish, but some people might like the texture more than I do! Wow! Been wanting to try this place for a while and it didn't not disappoint. The Beijing duck was phenomenal and the service was top notch. A truly traditional dish (makes sense since they're from Beijing), you MUST try the duck. We also had a variety of other dishes, which were all good. Visiting the area and read some reviews on this place. Located in Tangram center. We had reservations for 9 in a private room on a Monday night. SERVICE was excellent. Servers and staff very nice and attentive. They have a call bell in the room if anything is needed and they respond very quickly after pressed. FOOD was for the most part delicious. They first gave us complimentary starters (flaky wonton thing, pickled okra, and something else...was okay). We ordered about 15 dishes (maybe more). It was a lot for us. Here's our list: Litchi shrimp balls (10/10), sesame cabbage (8/10), lobster (7/10..flavor good, just didn't appreciate having to crack it), mustard in casserole (8/10), bbq lamb (7/10), crispy shrimp (10/10), homemade dumplings (8/10), sweet and sour squirrel shaped fish (10/10), Chinese broccoli (7/10), stir fried beef with crispy mushroom (10/10), beef with chili sauce (6/10..spicy but just tastes like a lot of chili flakes), Juqi fried rice (7/10..whole production with it being lit on fire), braised pork belly (9/10), eggplant (9/10), signature Peking duck (15/10)..Duck is carved at the table side, they even teach you how to roll it in a wrap. The meat is thinly sliced and flavorful but the crisp on that skin is delicious..(i do not really eat duck but this was so good). They even use the bones to make a soup which was flavorful but at that point most of us were so full. Overall, great dining experience here. read more
Juqi is actually a restaurant chain with 20 locations in Beijing that opened a location in Flushing, Queens. While the menu offers all the foods of Beijing cuisine, their specialty is Peking duck. The food here was super fresh and you can can actually see the roast duck hanging as you enter. For two people, I recommend the half duck combo that I ordered. The duck is carved for you and brought to your table with some small appetizers. The pieces of Peking duck are meant to be eaten while wrapped up in these super thin pancakes they provide, with some sauces and vegetables. If you are unsure what to do, the waiter can show you. An added bonus is that they will offer to give you free soup, with the bones of the duck that you've just ordered. Juqi has the best Peking duck I've ever had in my life. Second time here and I think it tastes even better than the first time. Tried different dishes plus the staple Peking duck wrap with the option of Peking duck soup. The cold app bean curd with celery was so tasty. Every bean curd was so flavorful. The stir fried lamb was surprisingly tender with a slight spice. The cold app wasabi duck feet is rare and hard to find in flushing. Service here is always spot on. The waitress showed us exactly how to wrap the peaking duck rolls. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the customer service was really good. Ricky took the time to explain things on the menu to us and he was very friendly. This place was subpar. The duck had NO FLAVOR! The black rice NO FLAVOR! The drinks were watered down. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the spinach and mushrooms. The restaurant was clean and nice decor. Good restaurant in Tangram. We enjoyed the food including the Peking Duck. It's a bit expensive for what you're getting, though the taste of many dishes are unique. Service was okay, nothing special. The space of the restaurant is large, but some of the tables look much more rundown than others. Asked for the nice seats for a special occasion and got turned down. This is one of the best places for authentic Peking duck in NYC. It is located inside the Tangram mall. From the windows of the restaurant, you can see the ducks being roasted in the furnace. The interior is beautifully decorated and upon entering, you will feel as if you've stepped back in time. All the dishes are beautifully presented and we came here of course, for the Peking duck. We opted for the half Peking duck, which was more than enough for two people. For the leftover duck bones, you can choose between getting a duck bone soup (which I highly recommend) or fried duck rack. The duck skin was ridiculously crispy while the inside bursted with juice and flavor. You can enjoy it as is or classically, build it into your own wrap (they will show you how if it's your first time). Overall fantastic dining experience. Will come back here to try out their other dishes. read more

After having Juqi on my list since they opened, I finally came to celebrate my mom's birthday. I reserved a room which had a minimum spend of $488 but didn't want to take a chance of having to wait a long line since my grandma was joining. I think for an early lunch, we probably could've just done walk in though. The private room was spacious for the 7 of us, I think it seats 10? Really enjoyed the peking duck - the thin wrapper was so good and stayed soft the entire time! Best ones I've had in awhile. The sweet and sour squirrel dish was a hit, as well as the chicken feet and Steamed Chicken W. Sesame In Chili Sauce. The Royal Style Barbeque Lamb was really good- I don't like lamb but tried one and it was super tender and not gamey. The Litchi Shrimp Balls came out last for some reason, after all our food was served. We were all full at that point but still tried it. Wish it came out earlier as one of the appetizers. It was good but not sure if it was worth the $22 price point. The Chinese Cabbage W. Sesame Paste was recommended to us by our waiter, it was ok but didn't match price point for $14). The spicy tripe dish was also not great - too much green onion! Overall, I'd come back for a normal dinner or lunch! read more

Tucked in the basement level of an Asian mall, JUQI is a Beijing food experience. Waited for about 40 minutes on a busy Saturday night. The main attraction is definitely the peking duck course. We got the half duck and it was more than enough to feed 4 plus everything else we ordered. The waiter(s) were helpful in curating our dining experience with their recommendations. Not one thing really stood out. All dishes were flavor blasts cooked with powerful spices and "wok breath". A lot going on here in terms of umami-ness. Other than that, I don't know if I would change anything about this place if you're looking for Beijing food with lots of flavor. This will give you that and more! read more

I see there is a half Beijing duck for $59. As a solo diner, can i order this and get the full experience with buns, crispy skin, soup etc served in multiple courses?
You will not get the entire experience as with getting the whole duck. With the half, you will only get the steam wraps along side the duck. You will then get to choose btwn the soup or the fried bones. So you get a two course meal.
Is the menu only in Chinese or is there a menu in English so that people who are not so fluent with mandarin can order?
